V/A - Auf Tierfang Durch Die Welt Für Unseren Zoo EP 1985

Let me finish October with a further highlight of German Punkrock. This rare self-released 7Inch compilation hosts three combos, two songs each, from the north of our beautiful republic. Starting with Blanker Hohn from Hamburg (the only band with an album on Jax Pax Records) with awesome quake sound and a damn nasal voice, lovely. Die Erben, also from Hamburg, come along with a female voice and brilliant lyrics which are food for thoughts, both excellent playin', lovely. And as third R.Z.Amok from Tostedt with two decent goodies which go pretty forward, musically as well as textually, lovely. In my opinion the latter both had deserved an album. Info for all collectors among you: this record is limited to 600 copies and comes in a double-sided fold-out info/lyric sheet - I slam me again, must become healthy, meet you tomorrow.

1.Linie 44 - BLANKER HOHN
2.The Solution - DIE ERBEN
3.Texte - R.Z. AMOK
4.Mind Police - DIE ERBEN
5.Machtmonopol - R.Z. AMOK
6.Essen, Trinken, Rauchen... - BLANKER HOHN

DIE VERGIFTETEN PFEILE - Chaos Ist Mir Lieber 7'' 1982

Hailing from Vienna comes this small piece of vinyl which was released via the legendary and best Austrian label Panza-Platte and you guessed sure, it's their only release. 'Es Geht Mir Gut' was packed on the rare cult compilation Heimat Bist Du Großer Söhne which is also released on Panza-Platte one year later. Musically here are two numbers somewhere in the direction of NDW meets Pop and Punk. Slightly jaunty guitars with a touch of ska influences, nice bassline, variable rhythmic drums and a clear voice. Fazit: Very successful record with a solid production. Recommended!!!

N.O.T.A. - Toy Soldiers EP 1984

N.O.T.A. (None Of The Above) was a fantastic hardcore band in the early '80s that has changed its line-up over the years. The band has disbanded in 1987 already, but has reformed in 1993 and finally broke up in 2000. This EP is their second one, released on Rabid Cat Records and is one of the most posted record in blogland I think. Yesterday I have listen after a long time to this record and it blows me once again. This is pure Killer stuff!! They mix the power of hardcore with the tunefulness of punk rock. Also recommended is their eponymous LP from 1985 with nineteen songs. I will close this Input with a review that says all: "This second NOTA EP follows hard on the heels of Moscow. Four of these five songs display the band's trademarks, tight thrash power, choice choruses, and politicized themes. The title track is a slower, melodic number in the SLF mold that shows an expansion of their musical horizons, without stylistic regression. A fine release that would have had more impact if it was released earlier." - Jeff Bale (Maximum Rocknroll #17, September 1984) - Now, if someone asks you 'Do you know N.O.T.A.?' you can answer right now 'Yeah!, fuckin' great band!' - You will find more than one EP in this file so pick it up honey!

DE STRANGERS - Punk 7'' 1978

Here is another 7inch with the sounding title 'Punk', therefore here. De Strangers was an Antwerp group especially gained fame by humorous - often socially critical - to sing lyrics in Antwerp dialect on well-known hit melodies. In this case they do a nice version of Plastic Bertrand' hit Ça Plane Pour Moi and it's not really vital but if you do not know them you will have fun, like me. The group was founded on May 1952 by Gust Torfs, Alex Boeye, Pol Bollansee and John De Wilde, though they sang then in Standard dutch. Their first performance was in Hoboken on 7.January 1953. By 1965 they had already performed 1000 times. Lots of records were released but nothing for my taste so. The flip is probably a typical De Strangers song, funny & danceable. The bands last performance took place on 14.May 2002 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Antwerp, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the group. In 2003, they donated their entire archive to the city of Antwerp. In 2006, a one-off reunion concert took place in honor of the Mayor's Ball in Antwerp. That's it!

SIF RECORD'S - Öst Och Väst 7'' 1983

This rare record is by a Punk band from Borås/Sweden and was released on Vinylbolaget and they not mentioned in the Bible Encyclopaedia Of Swedish Punk by Peter Jandreus (certainly overlooked), but there are so many excellent bands coming from Sweden so this may happen. Sif Record's is a fine mix of wave and punk. The a-side sounds almost like a wavy folklore song, very quiet held and the flip comes with more tempo and especially the beginning with these electronic beat is phenomenal, a classic kbd nugget (this track was taken for the Vägra Raggarna Benzin Vol.3+4 compilation). Well, an interesting plate in any case.

JETZT! - Acht Stunden Sind Kein Tag 7'' 1984

With Jetzt! we have another fuckin' rare 7Inch which is not really a punk record but these two wave goodies are not bad and I don't know where I got the mail. Anyway, usually first a tape is recorded and then comes the record (if some ass is pitying) but this four piece combo did it the other way. Released by Fast Weltweit/Hit-&-Run Records is this their only piece of wax and the lyrics are query and direct, musically a melodic mix of Schrammelsound, almost a light hippie touch I would say. In 1987 they push two tapes afterwards and then they disappeared. In between they contribute three songs on the Fast Weltweit Präsentiert compilation from 1986 (taugt der was?). Na leiht den Herren eure Ohren und heute Abend ist Fußball.

GRUPO PARLAMENTAR - Na Minha Terra 7'' 1982

Oh folks I'm k.o., nose close, head is booming and my taste is stunned, I'm total im Arsch. And what really piss me off is lying all day in bed and getting well, GRRRRR.... Well, at least I can present you a sensational record of a Portuguese band, their only one which came out via Rádio Triunfo. Two great songs between punk and powerpop with organ and pretty rockin'. About the band I have no info and from Portugal came not much stuff (correct me) but what I know is damn brettig, a must have!

PEGGIO PUNX - Cattivi Maestri 1989

Kick the sickness away with the Peggio Punx, a hardcore punk group from Alessandria (a small city in the north of Italy) & they were active from 1982-1989. Named as "Peggio Punk" and quick become "Peggio Punx" and the band was notable for the often experimental music (in the first distorted guitar album "type mandolin, until the very last pieces away from the canons punk - hardcore), and for working hard and reflective lyrics, words openly sympathetic to the current self far-left 'workers autonomy' that make them one of the most politically punk decided and deployed the entire Italian scene. In the early eighties very popular in the Italian scene, active incident to the social self "Subbuglio" of Alessandria and participating in numerous concerts, alongside bands like Wretched, CCM, Raw Power, etc., around the occupied social centers peninsula. Their self-produced discs are in the full spirit of DIY punk admittedly more "busy". It was recently reprinted a collection containing their discography, and also thanks to this reissue even worse now Punx are one of punk/hardcore Italian most popular ever.

THE SYSTEM - Thought Control 1997

Since I do a boat trip on the weekend and now I'm sick. Since yesterday plague me sore throat and it's damn unpleasant. Hope it goes quickly away. Last Friday I ripped this brilliant record by the System and today I come to post this and the advantage here is that a short bandbio is print on the backcover so here it is: The System formed in the summer of 1980 having messed around in various other bands since 1978. In 1981 they met a band called Flux Of Pink Indians, who helped them make their first single - the Warfare EP. This was very successful and contained their anthem - the Dogs Of War. By mid 1981 they were touring with Flux Of Pink Indians and the legendary Crass. They followed up with their second single - The System Is Murder. By this time they were being recognized all over the UK, Europe and the USA. Soon the album would follow and this record, however, never saw the light of day until 1997, through the help of Profane Existance and Skuld Records. Sorry it is a bit late but politics never change. And its as relevant today as it would have been then. Thirteen very good pieces, two of them live, chic presentation and recommended.

KAI MARTIN & STICK! - Biomusik 1980

Gothenburg band Kai Martin & Stick! or just Stick! which was originally called, was one of the early punk's most persistent and hard underrated band. But they quickly developed into a direction that made it into punk and conservative circles criticized the band hard. They we not called one of the right bands, synth bands and other patronizing, but the fact remains, punk was not a homogeneous musical style but accounted for musical freedom, which Kai Martin and Stick seized upon. The debut single, "Binder Min Tid" was released in 1979, the year after came the LP "Biomusik". This was followed by the critically acclaimed "Röd Plåt" LP in 1982 plus the 7'' "Man Ska Vara Som Ett Vilddjur I År" (You Should Be Like A Beast), who also restored some of the band's punk stamp, the group participated in both radio and television and in 1984 the band played at the Roskilde Festival and recordings of what was to become the group's last album, "Upptåndelsen" which is released the following year, 1985. Kai Martin & Stick! did their last show, which incidentally was recorded off the radio, on the Castle Forest Theatre 10. August 1985. At the gala Swedish Punk 25 years shook however, Kai and Gomer, along with Punk City Rockers, the dust out with "Beast" and "I Do Not Dance." With this cuts the band proved also that their detractors were wrong, Kai Martin & Stick! are definitely at home in punk!

C.O.M.A. - Clinik Organik Muzak Anatomik 1979

This is another very interesting record and a veteran of cold-wave/weird synth punk music by this French trio Philip Ross, Philipp Huart and Patrick Blain, with their only album released on FlamingoEnergetic and very atmospheric electropunk stuff, proto punk ethic is added industiels of synths, electronics thrown carelessly and chaotic manner and voice that aim to convey rage and alienation. C.O.M.A. create a fresh gloomy sound and move in the fairway of bands like Kraftwerk, only harder and more provocative. 2013 Danger Records has been pressed a re-release (listen). Members went on to form Charles De Goal and Danse Macabre in the 80s. Great songs! And now quickly back into my warm bed.

NECRONOMICON - s/t LP 1986

Some time has elapsed since the last Metal post and now a real highlight from Germany. This is one of the records which got lousy reviews in many metal magazines so for me an interesting record. This is the debut album by Necronomicon, a German thrash metal band founded in 1983 and two years later they recorded a demo called Total Rejection and in their early days they made punkrock in the vein of GBH or Discharge, hard, fast & loud but then soon they change more into metal. In 1985, the quartet signed their first record contract at GAMA Records. The band released their debut album "Necronomicon", still dressed in punk outfits on the cover. With a mixture of hard thrash with strong punkrock influences, they gained notoriety in the underground scene. To this day the band has produced eight albums, the second I had but still did not approach the strong debut, so I've just sold it. What I here like are the chainsaw guitars, the devilish rough voice (today I find it quite funny) and the powerful sound which drives consistently through the eight songs. Don't have to hide behind the American trashers, a solid German metal Platte.

HASSISEN KONE - Täältä Tullaan Venäjä 1980

Hassisen Kone (Temptation) was a Finnish punk rock band from Joensuu which was founded at the end of 1979. The group started with a new wave of punk, but began to develop towards the end of a progressive direction. All three of the actual albums are classics of Finnish rock. Motion religious leader became angry with the band's name, and the band changed their name for a short time into 'Kassinen Machine". The band won a contest held in Oulu and shortly they released their debut 7'' on Poko Records. They recorded three highly successful albums before disbanding in 1982. The singer/songwriter Ismo Alanko has led several bands since then and continues to be an influential name in Finnish rock music. Hassisen Kone has played several nostalgic reunion concerts after they disbanded. In 2000, they reunited for a concert on midsummer at the Joensuu Laulurinne. The concert was filmed and released as a DVD titled Twenty Vuotta Myöhemmin (Twenty Years Later). Check this awesome band out.

SVART FRAMTID - 1984 EP

Svart Framtid (Black Future) is regarded as the first one-piece band out of the Blitz-House and they were pioneers because they were the first Norwegian hardcore band that went on international tour. The Band had no bandbil so they bought instead interrail tickets and took the train around Germany from city to city and almost booked gigs along the way. Svart Framtid released only this awesome six-track EP which came out as the first release on vocalist Gunnar Nuven its newly established label Plateselskap and a live tape called "Live Blitz" which was recorded live at Blitz Oslo on 23.12.84. Gunnar Nuven was from the first era of punks in Oslo, he had among others and made his mark as a vocalist in the band Rush. The band dissolved in 1984 and Gunnar Nuven continued in bands like Kafka Process and So Much Hate. Harald Tredal continued in the band Locked Doors and Behind Bars and has also tried acting with a small role in the Norwegian film Schpaaa 1998. Nils Aune continued in the band Four Fæle guys, Kafka Process and Raga Rockers. Anders Eide continued in Behind Bars. This EP has high aggregate value and traded a few times a year for well over a thousand tag on eBay. "Scorching those decibels with an uproarious thrash barrage is Norway's Svart Framtid, jumping from chord to chord with different paces and plucks. Six exciting numbers that focus on major world wide problems, as the crude vocalist screams out in agony, like the people who feel it day after day. Speedy guitar with rapid drum splashings lead Svart Framtid into a hectic dose of creative, yet alarming piledrivers. Great active stuff, the tip of the iceburg in Norway. On X-Port Plater." - Pushead, from Puszone, January 1985

VOPO'S - Dead Entertainment 1981

Start the weekend with a further classic album which was releaased on Redlux Records. The response over their debut 7inch (here) was not little and now I found the album on my hard drive and in the net it's present but most of the links are dead and hereby a wish is fulfilled, is that nothing??? Vopo's were founded 1978 in Zwolle and was one of the oldest bands from cheese-roller-country. This is their awesome debut album and I can tell you this record is a decent heightening, everythings is in its right place. Check more Vopo's on divers comps on wdthtc. Don't wanna waste my time with fuckin' words, get this ass-kicker and shut up!

INOCENTES - Adeus Carne 1987

So, one is still going and we cross the atlantic and stop in São Paulo, the biggest city in Brazil. The Inocentes were formed 1981 and with their first record Miséria E Fome, released 1983, they get my full attention. Two of the four tracks appeared on the Life Is A Joke compilation via Weird System and both are fuckin' killers (I think you know the songs) but first they contributed four smasher on the Brazilian comp. Grito Suburbano from 1982. During their first incarnation in the first half of the 1980s, the band played basic energetic and politically charged hardcore punk. This record is their first full length on WEA and unfortunately not so aggressive as in their early days, a pity. But the gentlemen are very active and have continuously produced albums and are still alive. Not a bad album but I would have wished more hardcore.

V/A - Unquestinably Late For The Trend... EP 1996

This is a real surprise and I did not know there is another 7Inch with that name. I recently posted the 12'' compilation a few days ago and here are more cuts from this session I think which made it not on the whole record. And seventeen years later the label Existential Vacuum published this rare one in an edition of 1012 copies, more Texas punk, all recorded 1978-1979. Released in a folded cardboard sleeve with an insert, detailing the history of ESR and the bands on this 7Inch. Nice release, all scans included, enjoy!

- Extra Special Thx to hiroshima.mon.amour -

1.I Ain't No Asshole - SUPERMAN'S GIRLFRIEND
2.Hypo - VOMIT PIGS
3.Bomb The Arabs - VOMIT PIGS

EXTRABREIT - Hart Wie Marmelade 7'' 1980

A little nostalgia with old German rockin' stuff tonight with this 7inch from ExtrabreitThe flip is a none album track and what should I say, it's long tome ago that Hart Wie Marmelade was played everywhere in the club in these times and I am always amazed in which countries the old NDW records land up and be heard. It was a nice time with interesting music, that can't be denied or? I know you like the stuff because the download link of their third album is still active. Two decent numbers, very well played, good lyrics, even today still okay.

BRYGADA KRYZYS - Live 1982

A nice little live album by this Polish combo which was recorded sometime in 1981 with eight good songs, released via Fresh Records. Musically you should not expect the typical kbd sound, rather over five minutes numbers mixed with two-three ones. The quality is quite okay and if you need more input so click to their s/t LP which I posted months ago and more infos. Now a hot shower and afterwards soccer World Cup qualification match against Northern Ireland.

THE CYBERMEN - You're To Blame 7'' 1979

"This British punk band released two 7" records on their own Accrington-based Rockaway label: The Cybermen EP (1978, aka Cybernetic Surgery) and the You're to Blame 7''. Their songs boast intelligent lyrics, well-performed vocal harmonies and catchy riffs, but little is known about the group besides the line-up: Ian P Dixon (Bass/Vocal), Paul Milek (Drums) & Roger Entwistle (Guitar/Vocal). Because of their name, some record dealers will attempt to charge ludicrous amounts of money for these records, but they're worth hearing should you find someone selling them at an honest price! The You're To Blame single came with a "Free Info Pack", a sheet of typed and signed A4 paper that revealed that the band had been quiet since their first release (which apparently John Peel had "loved... needless to say") owing to the "unfortunate 'borrowing" of most of their equipment!"

VORKRIEGSJUGEND - s/t LP 1985

Now a request and the last for today: Vorkriegsjugend were a very influential cult hardcore punk band from Berlinand the band exists for four years (1982–85). However, they are considered to be one of the most notable and influential German bands of the period. While active they released a double 7" and an album. Their discography is currently available on CD via the Hamburg based label Weird System. The band, with only the drummer as a band member of the original line-up, reformed in 1998 and released an EP called 'Widerstand Dem Teutonenland'. They split up for good in 1999. This record is nowadays a rarity and can be sold for more than fifty dollars. The 7" is even more rare. There was an official re-release i form of a 12'' by New Face Records from Brasil in 1988. The original 7inch has no second pressing and can be buy for more than one hundred and fifty dollars which makes it one of the most expensive German punk records in history. So enjoy this classic stuff, all artwork included.

BROKEN TOYS - Dirt 1991

Before I waste my time today with ripping some records first a post. The Broken Toys from Boston play bubblegum-based punk rave-ups with so much raw energy and urgency that they vividly recall New York’s finest, the Ramones. Over the past ten years, The Broken Toys have released countless singles and cassettes, appeared on numerous LP and CD compilations and toured Europe no less than five times. Earlier this year, Broken Toys signed with the German label Incognito Records and Dirt, their thirteen-song debut, is crammed with hooky, guitar-driven ditties like “Control Myself,” “Nothing to Do,” and the sarcastic “I’m Aware You’re Perfect” Broken Toys’ melodic sense arid occasional use of harmonies make their best cuts not only infectious, but danceable. Melodic ‘77 Punk rock which sounds sometimes like the Ramones. These guys specialize in rockin’ three-chord punk with memorable choruses and raw performance and production values. Above average; has the added benefit of good energy and loads of sarcastic humor. Have they seen 1990 in Hamburg/Marquee and was thrilled. If you’re into '77 style, get this quick. You can’t go wrong.

BIZARROS - Lady Doubonette EP 1976 + Laser Boys EP 1978 + s/t LP 1979

I download their album a few years ago and was not impressed (except 'Young Girls At Market') and I put them quickly away. Now I changed my mind. The Bizarros are a very good band and with their early melodic rock sound with a punky influence I become a fan. Here are their debut EP, the second and the album and a few live and demo cuts from the collection CD which came out 2012. Some info I found yet: In the late 1970's the Bizarros swam against the current of mainstream rock & roll. Although other Northeast Ohio post-punk and New Wave acts went on to greater success and notoriety -- Devo, Pere Ubu and the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde all spring immediately to mind -- few were as crucial to the scene's longevity and impact as the Bizarros; the first Akron band signed to a national record deal, the group's frontman Nick Nicholis also operated the fabled Clone label, which issued records by key regional acts including the Waitresses, Tin Huey, Human Switchboard and the Rubber City Rebels. Nicholis formed the Bizarros in late 1976 while a student at the University of Akron, and within months the band signed to Blank Records, the Mercury subsidiary founded by A&R exec Cliff Burnstein for the express purposes of signing Pere Ubu. Their self-titled debut album did not appear until 1979, however, when it was issued on Mercury proper; in the interim, the Bizarros issued a handful of efforts on Clone, most notably 1977's From Akron, a split LP with fellow hometown favorites the Rubber City Rebels. Day jobs (Nicholis worked as a public schoolteacher) and a lack of label support prohibited the Bizarros from touring nationally, and in 1982 the band finally dissolved, reforming in 1996 to record new material.

FLATSCH! - Flatsch 3 (Net Stumbe!) 1983

Now a bit local stuff with the third album by this comedian punk rockers from the Rhein-Main Area and it is awesome, like the first two albums Flatsch! combined melodic rock music with, written mostly by singer Gerd Knebel, german lyrics with a strong satirical undertone. And that just makes the band unique. Furthermore, the band offered an impressive stage show in particular, which included largely absurd sketches with quick costume changes and has little in common with classic rock concerts. Flatsch! existed from 1979 to 1988. And all you Äppelwoi user know what i'm talkin' about. Great Stuff with whom I grew up and accompanied me for many years!!! Flatsch! 4 is also a must have! I know this is not everyone's taste but this is a blog, based in Hessen, so eat god or take that.

BORED GAMES - Who Killed Colonel Mustard 12'' 1982

Let's move miles away from here and visit the beautiful Islands of New Zealand and meet Bored Games, a high school creation of Shayne Carter and Wayne Elsey, though the latter left the band to form the Stones before they recorded any material together. Interestingly, 1982's 'Who Killed Colonel Mustard' EP was very much a posthumous release and their only record, Bored Games having broken up a year prior to its recording. Four good rockin' tracks, excellent and catchy.

PARAF - Fini Dečko 7'' 1981

After the debut album A Dan Je Tako Lijepo Počeo Paraf changed their singer and I would say the new female voice of Vim Cola has their music well done (not the old one was bad). I think her influence gives the sound a bit more wave and melancholy and this 7Inch is a good example. Side a is a solid driving punk cracker while the flip is a six minute melodramatic, with keyboard shifted, piece of cream. Translated, the songs called 'Sad Ears' and seems to float around the room. Pretty unusual for a punk band or.... but some bands mastering a style change without being boring and Paraf show it here impressively.

here

MEKAANISET KAKUT - Mä Voin Kertoa Sulle 7'' 1981

Start today with this rare classic and believe me, these two songs blow you away. Released via the famous Finnish label Poko Rekords and the band is only one person, Timo Sinivaara and he sings, plays guitar and uses a drum machine which gives the songs a decent rhythm and the necessary hardness, maybe the first Elektropunk record....I have the 7Inch played five times in a row because it's so damn catchy. Unfortunately the only record of him, the title track was later used for the awesome Kovimmat Takaiskut compilation. Now I'll leave you alone with this beauty and play it fuckin' loud!

V/A - Brain Attack EP 1988

Oktober, autumn has arrived, cold & rainy and I rip a lots of cool records since three hours. Another Higlight in the German punk rock history is this inconspicuous release with four exclusive songs on Postive Destruction Records. The EP opened by the Nikoteens who were founded 1979 in Ingolstadt and their contribution is a fuckin' killer, high-speed hardcore punk at it's finest and there exist a pretty cool video of this song, maybe you know it. Los Comas come from the north of the republic and play beautiful melodic punk rock and their song is a pearl that leaves you wanting more. The Drowning Roses most likely already be known, they have a split 7'' with NOFX and a brilliant album on Weird System released. 'Tommy's Life' is exclusively recorded for this mini-sampler and was also a small work of art. Notwehr from Bochum round it with their hardcore attack the eavesdropping pleasure off, and I promise you all friends of the sublime taste the download here is strongly recommend. Limited to 1000 copies, fitted with a nice lyric sheet, no weak points. So must be a record!

1.Leader Of The Rotten Corpse - NIKOTEENS
