V/A - Bloodstains Across The World #7 2022

Well it's time for one more Bloodstains Compilation and this one is cheap like the other "from all over the world" (from #3) and kept in a simple CD-R format, but I'm pleased that there are always maniacs who share their things, in contrast to other arrogant Assholes who defame such small people even though they don't know them at all and believe that they contribute a part of underground culture with their so-called professional Compilations (hahaha...), they just have to get their ass kicked and I give them a big Fuck You! I prefer to take these because the originals aren't tangible and I am grateful for this and everyone who thinks the same way will be enthusiastic with this cheap but cool one.

V/A - Oi! Rare & Exotica Vol.2 1999

Let's continue with the second unofficial Volume of massive rare Oi! goodies and again released via Teenage Rebel Records and the selection is excellently cast with twenty-three tracks, which stretched out the middle finger towards to the boring establishment. This time with an info sheet and a few words from it: "Again a lot of more or less unknown bands from all over the world are featured with recordings from 1981-1998. Everybody should know the 80's Oi! bands from England, so there's no need to present them here again like on many other Oi! Compis. So discover something new, have fun and always remember: The world is big, manigfold and real Oi! is anti-rascist (which doesn't mean it's leftwing)." Together with Volume 1 this record offers a lot of exclusive material, good songs and every band doesn't sound dull or wooden, what means in the end: no stupid music goulash. Get both!

Uhhaaa... next round of the grandiose Powerpearls series, today with Volume #6 and you know what that means. Seventeen fresh PowerPop nuggets from all over the world have made it onto this Compilation and the selection is once again considerable and equipped with plenty of rare 7inches (one song per record). It's been a long time since I discovered this style of music with enthusiasm and since then I have had a number of Schnittchen as guests in my house and basically no more words are needed to review this rare record I think, do you agree? Let's do it like this, it's best to use the opportunity to leave your review/opinion in the comment section, that's what it's for and I'd be really interested in what you think about the material, and please, don't be shy. 😌 I say: this package is damn cool and a must have for any true wdthtc follower, Enjoy!

THE RAYDIOS - Original Demo Recordings 1999

HOLY FUCK!, Jesus himself chokes on a glass of milk with this sounds because the next slab is what I call a real fucking killer and it's not a record from the early days and not from countries/places I prefer and you know which ones I mean. Amazing record of post Teengenerate (known for their fun style of playing garage Punk with a sense of humor and often incomprehensible English lyrics) Rock & Roll by this Japanese garage Punkers from Tokyo and this three piece is called the Raydios and were formed around 1997 by Fink (vocals/guitars), Sammy (bass/vocals) and Yoda (drums) and this is their debut which came out via Screaming Apple Records. Twelve songs are on this shitty piece of vinyl and they are part of the first demo tape which only came out on cassette in Japan (year unknown) and was immortalized on vinyl by this German label. Don't think the quality is shitty, on the contrary, amazingly good two-three minute cracker and meanwhile a rare and highly sought out piece of vinyl and I promise you thirty minutes of liquid, fresh and powerful relaxing cake time on this Sunday morning. Guests on a few Compilations, but the new shit aren't for my world, so look for them yourself.

V/A - Follow No Leaders! 1996

Today a notable Oi!/Punk compilation on Nat Records with featuring nine Japanese bands, two songs each (except Chaos), delivering an amazing Streetpunk salvo here. And music from this country is always worth buying, be it drastic Hardcore that is wild and untamed with ecstatic vocals or melodic Oi! which always rushes into the ear and stays there. In addition, the expressive lyrics which illustrate a clear opinion. The anti-attitude against the system can be felt in every song and shows clearly what a broken form of society is present there. I mean, the same shit is going here, but I think it's a bit more extreme there. I've never been to Japan and maybe I won't make it in this life, but I would definitely like to. Follow No Leaders is not an empty phrase, it is a life wisdom that is burned in and gives a sense of self-determination and authenticity to decide things for yourself. Enjoy!

THE STALIN - 虫 1983

Mushi is the third output by The Stalin from Fukushima and again via Climax Records released: it's a furious, frentic enjoyable record. Basically everything is right here, the production, the cover, the blistering pace, the superior voice and twelve songs in just under thirty minutesI don't really have to write more about. If you don't know the band yet, you should change this as soon as possible, because music from Japan is always interesting and extremely different. I leave the stage today with a solid review: "This great band from Japan has been putting out records since 1979 (five 7″ers, one 12″ EP, and two LPs), but they’ve somehow escaped notice in the West until now. Their latest picture disc album is amazing, like those of the best Finnish bands. The slower songs are wickedly powerful and tuneful, with great wrenching guitar work, and the more numerous thrashers are awesome. Plus, Japanese production is the best in the world, so order them when Rough Trade begins distributing them." (Tim Yohannan, MRR #8 • September 1983)

V/A - It's All Been Said Before... EP 1993

...Yes, it's a bootleg Punk!' and not a bad one at all. For an unofficial release, the artwork (a 9-Page booklet sleeve) is amazingly elaborate and available at a low price, I think I paid three euros for this slab. All songs are already been released, details here, and the song/band selection is also impressive and shines with nine fast loud goodiesSome familiar to me, some new. Reason enough to enjoy this record at a relaxed moment. It's going to be hot today, that means 🌞🌊

V/A - P.E.A.C.E. Compilation 2LP 1984

I don't think this excellent release in form of a double record set can be more topical, and as we all have to realize, mankind hasn't gotten any wiser even after almost forty years. There is always some aggressor somewhere who expresses its sick ideology with lies and blind helpers and it is appalling that no diplomacy, no system, and no sensible compromise can prevent a violent confrontationPathetic, disappointing & lifeless all the pursuit of power and heroism. About the record: "This massive international Hardcore/Punk compilation features fifty-five bands/songs and was organized and released by the infamous MDC on the band's own label R Radical Records. The worldwide hardcore scene was at its peak at this point, still underground enough to repel corrupting outside influences like major labels and heavy metal, but already hardened into a rigid aesthetic and political dogma that often encouraged groupthink and musical conformity. P.E.A.C.E. documents the state of "Reagan-era" Hardcore, just before the popularity of extreme music spread through decidedly non-radical camps and into the mainstream. Among the fifty-five bands on board are well-known plus the best tracks by courtesy of obscure groups of the local scenes from Argentina, South Africa to Japan. Most of the bands included retain, either through design or some bizarre quirk of ineptitude, a stamp of individuality on their sound that makes this an entertaining collection.

An extensive booklet insert is packed with political rants, cartoons, and suggestions for further reading, making explicit the double-LP's theme of activism and action against a corrupt authority. Plus, each band is provided with a full page to express their ideas (and plug their wares) with printed lyrics and crudely effective collage art. Reissued on CD in 1997 by New Red Archives with bonus cuts." (Fred Beldin) - A real highlight of an international gathering that shows how it can work.

V/A - 天橋立に来た岸壁の母 Amanohashidate 1986

Very good compilation by MCR Company with six combos from Japan and I'd almost like to say this time with more melodic pieces that cause a bit of a surprise. Of course, fast songs still present but far from the banging of the typical representatives and what I know. 1000 copies were pressed, comes with informative lyric sheets, unfortunately not in English, but that doesn't lessen the pleasure of listening and overall a successful selection. Pogo is guaranteed and pushes brilliantly the gray haze offside, also suitable for pleasant useless diets. Cheers!

V/A - Planet Punk #4 2005

Second and last part of Planet Punk and with Volume 3, this little self-made series is already complete. H2D#26 is another tidbit full of rare stars from international bands that are still kicking ass, much in demand and popular in our fucking disillusioned times which bring little decent music to light in my opinion. Music is like inventions, there is nothing innovative that can really impress me, hardly any wow factor or thing that I can really admire. And I would say that for almost twenty years. Speaking of music, we all hear & see the so called "combos" thrown together, the TV shows which offer only shit and are played over and over by radio stations, all this crap is boring, repetitive and only geared towards profit, commercial shit and really sucks. It's really intoxicating to get acquainted with such music as on this further fantastic compilation and to eke out an existence far away from this dead & dull society. That are the words for Sunday, Amen! Enjoy the vibes of the good ole days!

MINK OIL - Untitled EP 1988

This Sunday post belongs to a record which came via Adventure Family Records out and the band is called Mink Oil, and I can't much say about the four and it's not my rip either but they probably from Tokyo and the band were Masa (vocals), Tsuji (guitars), 96 Tsuyoshi (bass), Shisho (drums) and taking influences from classic US hardcore, and this is their only output and you can listen to six catchy, melodic goodies which didn't sound a bit of the usual incomprehensible hardcore of most Japanese bands. Of course, nobody understands what about they are singing, but who cares, the mercilessly dynamic guitars push the songs to a damn holocaust and Masa's singing shoots through the roof. Whoever sent this to me, thank you for this and I can recommend the download to any Japanese hardcore maniac. Solid record and a nice trip!

GOMESS - Demonstration 12'' 1987

Everyone know what exactly happened in Japan seventy-six years ago and for this reason today a post by Gomess, a four piece from Tokyo I guess, and the band consisted of Hisae (vocals), Osamu (guitars), Atsushi (bass), Shonen (drums) and this six track mini album was released via R.B.F. Records and scored high sales and made them very popular in the Japanese punk scene. In addition, two more Flexi 7Inches were released and that's it. Demonstration assaults us with sturdy melodic songs with intense energy, huge hooks and a catchy female voice which is strong from beginning to end. The four understand their craft in every respect. Fazit: A solid record I enjoy very well, and far from the usual wild, crazy hardcore beats we all know from the Nippon connection, and a worthy opener for the weekend ahead.

LASCIVIOUS - Requiem To Che Guevara EP 1986

Lascivious was a punk band with a slight metal edge from Morioka and this is their only output on Akiraxtoy. Released as flexi in a red translucent design and certainly in small editions. Members were Hirosi (vocals), 霧  (guitars), Yuzuru (bass), Oshow (drums). Well, I'm not very familiar with Nippon bands and I can't even say much about Lascivious either, but the four songs are consistently impressive and really melodic. No unorthodox tempi changes or something like that, maybe the tough ones among you are a little disappointed, but be open to new things. The vocals are also largely audible & understandable and the classic raw punk mix influenced by the metallic side makes the whole thing something special. No compilation appearances.

V/A - Bloodstains Across The World #5 2019

Early hour on this Friday, I pack another Bloodstains compilation out with more rare early sounds from all over the world, and Volume 3 is once again as CD-R in vinyl look released and by the same detectives, I think. Half of the twenty songs are known to me and are always welcome, while the 'new' material is sometimes questionable and I personally would have made a different selection. But with so many unknown bands/songs I'm always amazed where music was made with sometimes first-class nuggets. And I don't hesitate long, as soon as a new release of this brilliant series is available. It's a shame that Killed By Death doesn't go any further. Maybe there comes one more hype like in the 90s, who knows. 100 copies exist and watch out for #6 next year. Have fun discovering new musical highlights!

V/A - Crack! Gozira Records 1978-1979

Today an interesting compilation from Japan and on this record it goes not wild and brutal, as we know it from the Punk bands there. Released via Gozira Records/Telegraph Records in 1983 and also numerous booted, this vinyl shows the new wave/punk side of the islanders and all of them have at least one single out which is difficult to get nowadays in Europe and overseas, small editions I think and therefore you had to be at a gig to get a record. Hence a nice idea from the label to release this famous record in the early 80s. I enjoy this slab very much and hope you will too. That's it for today from the sunny, frosty Hessenland!

THE STALIN - Trash 1981

Debut album on Political Records by The Stalin, (ザ・スターリン) an influential Japanese punk band formed in June 1980, by leader and vocalist Michiro Endo. After numerous member changes, he disbanded the group in February 1985. In May 1987 Michiro formed a group called Video Stalin, which mostly made videos instead of albums; they disbanded in 1988. In 1989 Michiro created a new band named Stalin and continued to make music with them until 1993. Endo chose the name because "Joseph Stalin is very hated by most people in Japan, so it is very good for our image." Originally a three piece with Endo on vocals and bass, Atsushi on guitar and Jun on drums. Shintaro joined as bassist later in the month, however their first single, Dendou Kokeshi, was already recorded without him and was released on September 5, 1980. In 1981 they released the Stalinism EP. In July Tam replaced Atsushi on guitar. On November 4, at a live performance at Kanto Gakuin High School, Endo is arrested for indecent exposure. On December 24, 1981, they released their first full-length album, the half studio/half live, Trash. Twenty short killers adorn the album and it's far better than the 1982 sequel Stop Jap in my opinion. The band has fabricated six albums and a few singles and can be found on numerous compilations. Michiro Endo died in a Tokyo hospital while battling pancreatic cancer on April 25, 2019, aged 68. Let's go boys!

V/A - My Meat's Your Poison 1987

I know this compilation from 加害妄想 Records isn't new in the Blog cosmos but I have this rare goodie and now you get my rip. I don't have to say much about Japanese punk, you know what to expect. Six bands, twenty three songs with rampant energy that recharge every tired battery. Re-released as bootleg in 2017 because the original is often sold for high 2-digit amounts. I would really be interested in why...... no..... let's leave that.... This is an absolute classic: speedy, trashy, noisy and the colorful cover is particularly worth mentioning as well. Now turn this bloody sucker on and come into weekend!

V/A - Killed By Death #1010011010 2002

I think, it's time for another rare compilation from the grandiose Killed By Death series, today we dedicate ourselves to the 300 copies slab by Teenage Lust Records and meet twenty howlin' punk anthems of 1977-1982. The detectives convince with healthy taste and I think, the mix with well-known classics and pieces that are found somewhere on hard-to-get singles is fucking felicitous. Exact my bottle of Hefe and the right sound for breakfast! Admit, you've been waiting for this a long time...
