V/A - Zeven Vijftig 1981

Extremely rare Dutch Punk Compilation, featuring bands from Utrecht and Rotterdam. It sold at the time for 7,50 guilders, and 500 copies were pressed. It came in a soft cover, and was released by Rock Against Records, without a catalogue number. Don't be confused by the cover shown above, which I used to avoid censorship, the original is not suitable to show here, considering the violence and pornography that is available to everyone, this cover is extremely harmless, you know what I mean. Musically a collection of fantastic songs, including some classics, that are only on this slab and come across very entertaining, there are no titles on the album, nor any credits, absolutely D.I.Y. and if you find a copy of this record somewhere, you've hit a small jackpot. Until then, that will have to suffice.

V/A - Punk Lives! Let's Slam 1986

Cool Compilation on Slam Records, a sub label from my favorite label Rot Records, and you know how great their releases are. Simple, informationless presentation and limited to 1000 copies but the selection is always quite good and mostly with bands of which not much vinyl exists, with a few exceptions of course, as is the case on this record. Healthy mix that will take you forty-five minutes of your valuable time but will never get boring. Check in!

V/A - Als Je Haar Maar Goed Zat 1992

Holidays are my favorite days and if I can also get a long weekend, I have time for new posts. Today I start with a great Dutch Compilation by mostly material from unknown bands which you can find on some tapes or other Compis and only a few made it to an LP. The range extends from solid Hardcore to Punk and good Rock. I'd say you take a bowl and season it with all your favorite ingredients, and the result is a unique product. And this record tastes one hundred percent good. Got the picture? Released via WRF Records.

V/A - Get Lost In Vinyl 2025

So friends of good taste, as announced a few days ago, now a new wdthtc Compilation (WDM Records 015). First, I have to tell you that I chose a different title for the story because I'm currently having trouble getting along with a loved one. I want to call it Heaven & Hell, because that describes the situation perfectly. But then I found this amazing cover, and I changed my mind. I asked myself, "Why all this?" Oh, and before I lose myself in endless dimensions again, all I can say is: people are crap! This sounds very metaphysical, but I can't help it. I always have experiences with people like this and fall in love with them. Is it because I'm not a normal guy? Or am I just unlucky? - It remains difficult. To hell with all the negative thoughts, they only disturb and paralyze you. On this nice and likeable CD with thirty catchy dilettantes you have enough freedom to interpret the whole thing yourself and maybe even give it to your loved one. That's what this Compilation was conceived and made for, and who knows what else... I've skipped the thank yous this time, there's no real reason but I just didn't feel like it. And now to the OrangeBeach for a nice beer by the water. Enjoy!

1.Words - ANTLER JOE & THE ACCIDENTS
2.I'm In Love For You - SATANS RATS
3.Don't Let Me - THE GENTS

6.Sell Me Some Beer - JASON DIDIT
7.Heart Disease - PEROXIDE

V/A - Berlin Frisbee #02 EP 2002

Second 7Inch Compilation in the small Berlin Frisbee series, released alongside the masterpiece Wenn Kaputt Dann Wir Spass. All of this material is a fascinating piece of divine music that powerfully captures the pulsating energy and creativity of the Berlin underground scene. Upon first listening, I was immediately impressed by the diversity and innovative approach of the tracks included. The compilation offers an exciting mix and reflects the feeling of early, spontaneous basement bands, and each track brings its own character, making the overall listening experience extremely pleasant and varied. It's impressive how diversely the then enclave of Berlin managed to combine its influences while simultaneously presenting its own distinctive style. Many of the songs are not only musically appealing, but also emotionally profound. The lyrics tell stories that range from personal experiences to social issues, and this symbiosis simply sticks in your mind, making listening to this little nostalgic record an intense experience. The recordings are consistently high-quality, and Weird System, as always, has selected the best nuggets. Creative and experimental, Berlin Frisbee #02 is an excellent homage that brings the early Punk rebellion into your home. It's a record I enjoy playing again and again to preserve my identity and be swept away by the energy of the raw sound. 1000 hand numbered copies and an absolute must-have!

V/A - Ei Gude Wie 2015

Back with a local compilation from the beautiful state of Hesse and this beauty features Hessian Cult Hits, that's says the cover but cult isn't the right word, what is cult? There are about 80% good songs on it, that's why I ordered the CD and the Bembel on the front fits our culture and we drink the delicious Äppelwoin out this. My version is called Bloodstains Across Hessen with more Punk material. For me, this thing is not a bad buy, good selection and ideal for tourists. Phew, I'm a bit irradiated and so I'll say goodbye quickly and see you tomorrow, enjoy the music!

V/A - Oi! It's Party Time For... Working Class Kids! #3 EP 1997

Last chapter of this small mini-series called Oi! It's Party Time by the French label One By One Records with four bands, three from the States, one from France. The first act is Bovver 96 from Philadelphia, who released two 7Inches and an album in the Nineties and they give us a fast, snotty number as the opener. Next up is A.O.C. from the Moulins & Yzeure area in France who belt out a decent Oi! Smasher and the song is taken from their first tape Cuvée 1996. A single + a CD decorate their discography. The flip starts with the Suspects from Arlington, and the gents were present in the Nineties with two 7inches and albums, their song for this dittie is taken from the second album New Dawn In The 21st Century and will smash your house like an eclat in the White House. And as fourth in the league Riot Squad from Dallas, originally formed in late 1989 then reformed in 1993 after a break. They have released two albums plus a 7Inch and cassette and round off the EP with a fast, likeable and exclusive blast. Fabulous record!

2.L'Apéro - A.O.C.
3.Ead Street Punks - THE SUSPECTS

V/A - Bullshit Detector 1980

An important series that was born in the early Eighties is called Bullshit Detector and it's a collection of Compilations featuring demos which sent to Crass by a variety of bands and were then released on Crass Records and I only know the first three and all came with a cool fold-out poster containing a collage of information, lyrics and artwork to all the bands, and all for a litte bunch of gravelThe sound quality was mixed and often basic, or even poor, as Crass would master the tapes directly to record without any additional production or enhancement. For Crass, the expectation of a polished performance was missing the point. But that's exactly what makes these songs/records worth listening to: Authentic, raw and unpolished, they convey the rebellious, anti-attitude of the Punk spirit and when I listen to these gems today, after more than forty years, I know I did a lot of things right and you won't be able to get rid of this feeling, it will always stay inside of you. Love passes, but Punk never. And the message is still the same as it was then, get off your ass and don't accept everything that stupid society or TV shows you. With this in mind, my friends, I wish you a nostalgic listening pleasure.

V/A - Novi Punk Val 78-80 1981

A quick jump back in the past, when birds were still singing, there weren't 1000 TV channels and children were still playing outside and not getting fat, Novi Punk Val (New Punk Wave), a cult Compilation from the former Yugoslavia, was born and took the opportunity to get a little attention among all the American & English Punk bands that were making one record after another in the early Eighties, and like a sea of roses in spring, it managed to become a sought-after rarity today. This gem was released in collaboration with the two Ljubljana labels ZKP RTVL/ŠKUC and features eight bands that had already released a few records at the time and some that were just starting out. Musically I would classify them as very diverse, hardly any Hardcore stuff to be heard but solid mid-tempo numbers plus some electronic noises that are largely acceptable and don't cause confusion, the bands there were just different & special, and that is exactly why we love them. An excellent introduction for anyone who wants to get into Yugoslavian Punkrock.

V/A - A Traves De Los Barrotes EP 1993

Small benefiz Compilation from the Iberian peninsula and this was created with the intention of expanding the campaign for the freedom of Pablo Serrano and raising funds for this project and four bands that I know nothing about, but that doesn't mean much, were ultimately passionate about it. Well, that was yesterday and I don't know if the proceeds brought something positive for him... what I know, this is a fascinating contemporary document that captures the musical diversity and creative spirit of people there in the early 90s. This compilation offers a deep insight into the subcultural diversity and currents of social issues that were relevant in Spain at that time. The selection of bands and songs is both varied and representative, creating a dynamic soundscape that is both nostalgic and timeless. Many of the songs reflect the challenges and hopes of the always dull society and the backgrounds and emotions worth thinking about. The arrangements are carefully designed and offer a balanced mix of melody & rhythm and also aggressive hardcore and light metal sounds, the record invites you to sing along and dance. Overall, A Traves De Los Barrotes is an important cultural artifact and is a tribute to the creativity and expression of the Spanish underground scene, very inspiring.

2.Rectas Y Curvas - ACME

V/A - Wahrschauer CD #1 1995

Today we come to an interesting Compilation that was created by a Berlin fanzine called Wahrschauer in 1995. At that time, there was an increasing trend to include a free CD as a supplement in the Heftsche, see OX, ZAP or others, in order to introduce new bands/music to the valued readers and of course to give the respective protagonists a platform to become better known through the local scene and thus attract attention and thus enable concerts outside their radius. This didn't always meet with a positive response, some said it was only intended to increase their circulation to Punk fans, but I think it is an excellent idea, because it is the only way for the 'small' bands to have a chance of being heard. And the Berlin Wahrschauer fanzine stuck to this brilliantly, because most of the CDs featured Berlin bands and in some cases the quality was astonishing. The special thing about it is always the do-it-yourself booklet, you just have to cut out the stuff, the dimensions are excellently formatted on the jewel case and you have an excellent self-made copy, which is fun and saves money. I can't say whether that's still the case today, I bought my last fanzine around that time, in the late 90s. Today, with social networks and online reading, that's all a thing of the past, but that was innovation and you were always waiting for the new issue. Well, dear friends, that's how it is. You almost degenerate into a rotten vegetable. I still have a few of them in stock, not many, but they will come out eventually, enjoy the music. Cheers!

V/A - It Came From InnerSpace 1983

Now an Edmonton Compilation which had a lot of interesting bands on it, not all Punkrock but really cool. A review first: This new Canadian compilation is very much like the English samplers that proliferated wildly in the ’78 epoch, in that it features a bunch of Pop bands and one or two token punk groups. Of the latter, SNFU produces two powerful mid-tempo gems with crunching guitars and sing-along choruses (including the classic “Real Men Don’t Watch Quincy”), while Down Syndrome offers a couple of raunchy garage Punkers. Of the pop bands, the Standards and the Thieves stand out above the wimpy pack by virtue of a heavier guitar sound and an unobtrusive ’60s tinge. The overall effect is rather refreshing in our current era of musical segregation. (Jeff Bale, MRR #12 • March 1984) All in all, a comfortable and stress-free selection that is perfect for cooking and I will now put it into practice and conjure up some meatballs, perhaps I will send you a small visual impression of this. But first I want to get one or teo beers to come in the right mood, while I'm working on another selfmade-sampler and yesterday I dusted off my place so the girls can come.

V/A - Groetjes Uit... Limburg EP 1995

A quick detour to the east and we find ourselves in Limburg, the southernmost province of the Netherlands. An opportunity for the German label Vitaminepillen Records, which was on vacation there in 1995 and was looking for Punk bands who wanted to take part on a nice 7Inch Compilation. Opener are Zwaar Klote from Venlo, short-lived and at home in 80s hardcore, T.Top is obviously a one-man band because all band members have the same name, they could also be triplets, who knows? Fact is, they have its pillow in Maastricht, more slowdown music. Slam Squad was a trio from Horst and both numbers are from their second demo tape. And final round by Cradle To The Grave with their contribution to the Limburger Käserei. Sexy stuff!

V/A - Electrocute Your Cock! Vol.2 2023

Welcome to the last day of 2024 and I want to end this year, which was mixed and had some highlights for me, in a worthy manner. Volume 1 was posted already three years ago and on the one hand, such Compilations are great, but on the other hand, the selection is rather modest, because many songs have already appeared on the relevant classics of the Nineties. So, the question is, why use this stuff again? Well, I think the old records are hard to find nowadays or are no longer available. Anyway, on the second installment we have seventeen rare obscure, snotty & moronic masterpieces from the US & UK, recorded 1979 to 1983 and it's a good release on MacDonald's Records, satisfaction guaranteed! Enjoy the little ecstasy of the good ole days and I wish you all a Happy New Year and take care of yourselves.

V/A - Avon Calling 2 2010

Well friends, it's that time again, Christmas Eve is here, families and loved ones come together for once a year to tell stories and eat and spend the evening in cozy harmony, just as society celebrates and television dictates. And many of you know what my position is on all this crap. These days mean nothing to me and in the past few years have only brought pain and misunderstanding. But I don't want to speak badly of these days, no no, of course there are happy people who look forward to them all year and others who remain alone and wish they would pass quickly, and for all those who have nothing planned for these days, this theater is also made. Let's see if I can cheer you up a bit with some old stuff that could light up your hearts. Already fourteen years old but filled with rare goodies is the following Compilation from Bristol Archive Records and is in my opinion a worthy continuation. A small intro: "This new album full of forgotten treasures and will sit perfectly along side the original Avon Calling release and go some way to completing the story of just what was happening in Bristol back in 1979/1980 and how the music sounds as relevant today as it did back then. If you like British Punk you'll like this, and one for collectors too." This not only sounds interesting, it is interesting! A wonderful mix of excellent tastings and in any case precious.

V/A - France Profonde #1 2006

France Profonde was a mini-series and the first Compilation was originally released in 1984 by Banzai Records/A.P.P.R.A. Unfortunately I don't own this record and when I bought this re-release I didn't look carefully. I thought it had the same songs on it, but the CD contains not the whole old songs, which doesn't mean that it's necessarily worse, but the mix on it is different with either newly mixed versions and some with nineties material. Let's see if I can get the original slab at some point, or if one of you can send it to me. One thing is for sure: I won't be buying another volume from this label, CDs are SHIT!, but musically there's nothing to complain about, I love French Oi!/Punk and the cream of the crop is filled with plenty of attractive bands/songs. I give full marks for the music, but the poor, sad booklet loses points, absolutely no information is given apart from the recording dates. A real disgrace! But enough words, I am forced to start the backgammon tournament and so I say goodbye for today, buy new tickets for this theater today because the doors will be open again tomorrow. Santé!

Phew, December greets me with freezing temperatures and I am not a friend of the cold, grey season, Fuck Winter! This means I have to let it get hot and since the heating already contributes a part to this, follows now the other in form of this very rare split album by Rat Race Records with two great Texas bands: Big Boys & The Dicks. Both bands were part of the early Punk scene in Texas and spread their influence on the development of the genre in the USA. The record captures the raw energy and spirit of the bands during this time. The Big Boys are known for their mix of Punk, Funk & Hardcore, while the Dicks are known for their provocative lyrics and aggressive style. Both have tackled social and political issues and are highly regarded for their unconventional approaches. The record contains some of their best known songs and offers a glimpse into the bands' live intensive performances, which are often characterized by a passionate and energetic atmosphere. Recorded live at Raul's in Austin on September 19th & 20th, 1980. These recordings are not only a musical experience, but also an important historical document that perfectly underlines the creative explosion and emotions of the early eighties and the still young underground scene of that era. Superb!

V/A - Attrix Records (The Vaultage Punk Collection) 1997

Now a nice Compilation by Anagram Records and this is part of their legendary The Punk Collectors SeriesAttrix Records (Brighton based Punk label formed in 1978 by Rick Blair. The first release was by his own band, Attrix, who the label were named after) is a well-known label that was active in the late 1970s and early 1980s and specialises in Punk and PostPunk sounds. The "Vaultage Punk Collection" includes a selection of rare 7Inches that showcase both well-known and lesser-known bands, mainly from Brighton, that played a small role in the early days of UK Punk. This nice collection is a successful Compilation, a kind of journey through the history of those early days, as I like it. Have fun with it and since there is no Bundesliga today it will be a lazy evening.

V/A - Keine Experimente! Vol. II 1984

It's time to relive the old days and the following Kompilation brings only positive memories back and it feels incredibly good to put this fucker out of sleep. This superb record from Weird System is an album that has caused a stir, especially in the German underground scene. This collection offers a more personal mix of relevant artists and is an absolute highlight. Just as the predecessor was a huge hit with more political stuff by essential German Punk bands, the second part is a perfect continuation and ensures a varied entertaining listening experience. Most of the beautys are only immortalized on this record and are real timeless classics that are now indispensable. Forty years have passed since then and I can look back and remember exactly how I felt at this time and how wonderful and carefree my life was, with less responsibility, fewer health issues, just living without thinking too much. And time wasn't important, now everything has become a little complicated and things have changed, not everything for the better, well, what can I say, I hate to repeat myself but getting old sucks. Overall, Keine Experimente! Vol.II is an exciting discovery that is recommended for old rockers and all newcomers who are interested in really good sounds. German craftsmanship!
