J.R. BAND - Separationsångest EP 1981

The one and only record by this Swedish punks called J.R. Band (stands for Jukka Rasilla Band) and they were probably from Gothenburg but I'm not sure. More info about the band is nowhere to found. All three songs kickin' good, the production is pretty dirty and rough and I like their simple trashy sound, very catchy and with a lot of charm. It’s a pleasure listening to them and never gets bored at all. One more little highlight in the great wide punk rock ocean.

NIRVANA - @ Roskilde Festival 26.06.1992

What should I write here? Everyone knows Nirvana and there are so many numerous bootlegs available after Kurt's suicide in 1994 + the sell-off thus boosted. Personally, I have never experienced them live because the hype about the band really passed me by and I had no opportunity at that time so I think: I missed something historical. Of course I bought the records then and realize how great they are and I regret, not having been there. Anyway, Kurt, Chris and Dave have caused a sensation and remain unforgotten and they proved that impressively alive and those who caught a gig can confirm this and I believe it on the basis by such awesome sound recordings too.

CADILLAC - Sweat'Shit 1978

Tonight I will make you happy with another re-post from the Tahiti Girls blog, which unfortunately died much too soon and this nugget is by a four piece from north europe, more precisely Vaajakoski/Jyväskylä and Cadillac were active 1974-1978 and founded by Jouko (guitar + vocals), Tapani (bass + vocals), Jussi (drums + vocals) and in 1977 they released their debut album 'Fly' as Rock Cadillac on Discovox. But one guitar was not enough for their '77 rock sound so Jarmo joined as second guitarist and the Sweet Brains 7'' followed in advance as a sample on Titan out and few months later this, the second and last, brilliant album with twelve decent mid-tempo cookies came and you can clearly hear why two guitars are sometimes a mustRepresented on only two compilations: Bloodstains Across Europe 2 + Killed By Death #33 and supposedly only 300 copies were made of this album and therefore predestined for wdthtc. You'll like it...I'm sure

BÖHSE TANTEN - Tough Ain't Enough EP 2013

Let's come to this nice record which was released hand numbered to 500 copies via Antisozial Records and it's the debut vinyl by the Böhse Tanten from Madrid and they cover lieder by Böhse Onkelz which is nothing special, but the Böhse Tanten are Skinheads and play only the older ones with their own lyrics (in Spanish and broken German)! Founded 2007 by Malte (vox), Niklas (bass), Peter (guitars) and Jaime (drums) they came to the idea to polish the old Onkelz songs in a punkin' direction and their first album (only as CD, 500 copies) Made In Madrid with eight songs is nowadays a rare jewel. What the boys drifted until 2013 is not known to me but a compilation album called The Oaschwukal Jahre was released with the CD and EP tracks and since then it has become quiet. Of course, you can ask: Does make that any sense at all? but I think it's cool because the music is not bad and that counts. Ach Scheiße, zieht Euch die vier Liedchen rein und damit hat sich's!

P-NISSARNA - Flumpungar 2004

One of the youngest bands with a real cult status were P-Nissarna from Falun. In December '77 the band started with Pistols and Ramones covers and two years later, in March 1979, the band is called now P-Nissarna, says guitarist Tomas Modig, who turned 15 that year. The first gig they had at school where there were 300 Asian people in a theme day. The Bassist was shit scared and stood the whole gig with his back to the audience. He was later fired because he was so lame. In all cases, they kicked the upper surprisingly and they earned a lot of praise afterwards which shocked them. Drummer at that time was called Willy and he lived quite far from Falun, which meant that he was replaced by Carl Zone and he was a rock. He had lirat Rush and stuff like that before so he was very technical. Soon after Fender had contact with Jeppe Ekholm from RiP records, which were very interested to release something with the band. The result was the Jugend EP which was recorded in Gävle Sound Studio and paid by themselves and the songs have a damn good sound. The band made a few EP's and were on some great Swedish punk compilations. Their music is full rough energy & the band released a few veritable bombs of great 70's punk rock. This CD is a comprehensive compilation of all their singles from the years 1979-1982, a few live tracks from 1981 and as bonus new cuts from the year 1999 with singer Fender and guitarist Tomas Modig. Fender died 2001 with only 37 years. All in all one of the best Swedish punk slabs come from P-Nissarna. What more can be said?

SKIN-DEEP - More Than Skin Deep 1988

Late in the evening one more classic and it's Doncaster 1985: Wayne Kenyon, Milk Whitnall, Andy State and Shaun Parkin form the band Skin-Deep. One year later Shaun is replaced by Dean Jordan. With only three concerts, they were asked to participate on the compilation Oi! The Resurrection, and Self Respect was their first vinyl output. The result was not exactly the sound the band was looking for, but it was the group's presentation to the Skinhead scene of that time. In 1986, they record the song My Life's Fine for another compilation, The Sound Of Oi!. In 1987 they are offered a tour of South Africa, which they do not accede for obvious reasons and the band refuses to play in a "Racist State". Continuing their musical plan the group was asked by Link Records to record their first and (sadly) only album. For this session the band was extended with a section of friends: Gav (trumpet), Carol (saxophone) and Carl (keyboards). In July 1988 the record came then with ten songs that navigate between Oi!, Punk & Ska and give a couple of young bands great influences. Skin-Deep are known for skinheads around the world and they were obviously hated by the right-wing boneheads, but they were embraced by non-racist skinheads everywhere, in addition they always concideraron a band conscious of being working class in the mid-1980s, without necessarily being a 100% politic slag. After three years of life and with less than twenty concerts (they never played in their native town) the band lastly broke up.

BOOTS & BRACES - Aufrecht Gehen EP 1987

This is the debut EP by Boots & Braces, an Oi! combo from southern Germany, founded 1983 by the Walz brothers. After a few rehearsals, they found bassist Alfred, who already left in 1984 as the brothers moved to Hohenlohe. He played the first demo and a few gigs with the mates of Herbärds. Gigs in Germany and France followed and in 1986 the band expanded to include singer Ralf and shortly thereafter the first single was released. Their album "Wahnsinn" appeared 1988 on the right-wing label Rock-O-Rama and brought the band a bad aftertaste because at that time only shit bands appeared on the Cologne label (although the band has no political statements in its lyrics, it was assigned to the right-wing rock due to the former label-affiliation to Rock-O-Rama and performances with well-known nazi bands. From the mid-1990s onwards they tried to get rid of their "right reputation as a band". The band explained in interviews not to be interested in politics, but they wanted to exclude anyone from the start. Political phrases of any kind would not be tolerated at concerts). After the release Alex quit again but with 16-year-old Martin they found a new guitarist, which leads Matze changing to the bass. More records + gigs followed and currently the band is pausing. In any case on this record are three fine Oi! classics which bring fun.

TRASH - This Is Complete Trash! 2011

I remember their first 7Inch was posted on my former blog and since then this great band has been forgotten until I was asked for this compilation which was published by Only Fit For The Bin Records in an edition of 200 copies only as CD six years ago. Twelve rare goodies, the pieces of their singles + unreleased demos & live material and an radio interview from 1977. Trash formed 1976 in Weybridge/Surrey and signed to Polydor (!) and released two singles. Auditioned in front of Roger Daltrey and John Entwistle for the role as a mod group in the film 'Quadrophenia', but didn't get the part. Trash split in 1979. Not much on compilations represent but the detectives immortalized them on Killed By Death #F.U.2 and Killed By Death #24Enjoy the dirty sound of Trash and have always a smile ready.

- Big Thx to François -

DESORDEIROS - Desordeiros Do Brasil 1987

Pretty nice debut record by this punk band from Rio de Janeiro on Devil Discos. You may known them via the great Ataque Sonoro compilation from 1985 which they offers two tracks. Desordeiros shine with heavily distorted guitars, tempo or expressed in two words: fulminating hardcore. Nineteen well-tempered goodies, not shaken pure drink.

INTERTERROR - s/t LP 1985

It has become infinitely colder and therefore we make an excursion to the Iberian Peninsula. During the first years of the 80's Interterror were still one of the most significant and interesting bands in Valencia's musical scene of that era. The band were formed in 1980 by Willy (vocals) and some other fans of British punk, although it wouldn't be until November 1981 that the band was completely constituted. The lineup then included Victor (drums), Paco (bass) and Miguel (guitar). Soon they became known by their pounding sound and funny lyrics, even though their musical parameters later on moved towards a faster and cleaner rock sound, denouncing war and social ills. In 1983 their first 7" came across by RS Editora and included "Adiós Lili Marleen" and "Felices Días En Auschwitz" in an edition of 1500 copies and became one of the most sought records. Lineup changes followed and in 1985 new material were recorded with their old bassist Paco and was moderately successful in punk terms. But they still didn't achieve the attention they hoped for, without generating the interest needed for a major to pick them up. The members became tired of the band and broke up soon thereafter. CONTAINER - Livet Stinker 7'' 1980

First post today is a Swedish powerpop gem! I never heard of this Swedish band before but I'm glad to get this from my contributor & friend in Sweden who sent all this awesome stuff to make this little blog much better, more attractive, more interesting and even more inviting all you music junkies. At this point my bow to you again Mr. "KBD" Fredrik. - Stockholm's Container released their one and only sign of life on Jäktskivan Records and here we have two nice powerpop pearls. The first tune is sung in Swedish while the flip is held in English. What should I type??? Not much, because a) these guys do their job excellent, b) I'm posting no shit, c) it's a fast download and d) who omits this 7'' has lost. - So four good reasons and I will no hear any moan, got it!

THE BATES - Punk? EP 1998

The Bates was a German punk band, founded in Eschwege, federal state of Hesse/Germany in 1987. The name refers to the character Norman Bates from Alfred Hitchcock's film Psycho. This EP is limited fan edition and contains thirteen tracks. The Bates published alongside original compositions on each of their albums at least two cover versions. On 18.June 2006, singer & frontman Markus Zimmer (R.I.P.) died at the age of 41 years in his apartment. As a basic circulatory collapse is given as cardiac arrest, which is due to the long-standing alcohol and drug addiction. Two days later he was found. A sad sad story indeed. A fuckin' cool live band and unforgotten.

Impressions XII

a few autumn impressions which I shot this week on my everyday ride in the morning by bike. It has become quite chill and I don't like to be so early on the road but sometimes you are compensated with such pictures...

V/A - Tour De Farce #3 1989

This is the final Tour compilation which was created by eMpty Records and what's on it is quite delicious. Punk Rock from around the whole world listen to it here and this exotic explosive mixture provides atmospheric change and makes clear that music eliminate all the language barriers. I mean, this makes drinking too, whether in Greece, Angola or Hawaii, hold your glass high, waving over and you learn to know each other and have a good time - drinking connects! - the music itself we have a brilliant mix of HC/punk/punk rock and a little bit obscure sounds, mostly unreleased tracks to date and for me one of the best international punk compilations. Indispensable and belongs in every underground household. And now it's time for the first Franziskaner, Cheers!

DISTORTION - Frustrerad EP 1982

Today one rare record + we have the only EP by Sweden's Punkrocker Distortion from Järpen, a small town in the north east and they put out this four Killer track slab on Vaxpropp Records. Founded in the late 70s as a three piece combo (Martin (vox & guitar), Mats (bass) and Mikael (drums & vox), they play a lot in their home town area but were unknown in the rest of the country. After they split up in 1983 Mats has published a 12'' with 'Tres Hombres' in 1987. The songs are shape, dirty and raw, pure Swedish punk. The lyrics are written in Swedish cus' to the due fact that's easier to express anger and frustration over the shit society in their own language. Famos stuff!!!

3000 ¥ - Humanoid Ha Ha 1994

Hamburg's veteran 3000 ¥ released their only record via Vince Lombardy Highschool Records and what Hake (vocals + guitars), Tim (bass) and Thorsten (drums) here deliver is a fantastic energetic explosion of eleven grandiose songs. They play not the typical Hamburg aggressive punk sound which is immortalized in the 80s by numerous bands from the Hansestadt, 3000 Yen celebrate catchy driving harmonic Rock'N'Roll with exceptional lyrics. My favorites: Wassermann, Hydrokopf, Yeti and U-Boot Manöver (excellent covered by Turbostaat). Some time after the turn of the century they made another album as Bärbel, true to their style and that's it. Genug gelabert, zieht euch dieses gute Stück und haut rein!

THE EXPELLED - No Life No Future EP 1982 + Government Policy 7'' 1982 + Waiting For Tomorrow 12'' 1984

The Expelled are a punk rock band which formed July 1981 in Leeds, England. After gigging around Leeds the band signed a record deal with Riot City Records after Rick Fox gave a demo tape to the drummer of Vice Squad, (one of the groups chief influences). They went on to release a three track extended player and a single both in 1982, and then do a John Peel session on BBC Radio 1 in December 1982. Ball left in 1983 and the band tried out several female vocalists, touring with one (Jewlie) and recording two songs with another (Penny, a girlfriend of Vice Squad guitarist Dave Bateman), before deciding to carry on as a three piece with McEvoy taking over on vocals. The new line-up recorded four tracks for an unreleased 12", 'Waiting for Tomorrow', before Riot City Records ran into financial problems and the band split in May 1984. Here we have now all their 80's recordings by this fantastic UK Punkrock Pioneers.

LA FRACTION - Guerre D'esperance EP 1995

Four piece female fronted french punk from Paris with their first EP. La Fraction are singing solely in French (but provide us only-English-speaking dolts translations), and I can’t stop listen to this fuckin' slab. Straight forward, energetic, catchy and melodic songs with Magalies outstanding voice and she is a phenomenal one and gives the songs the final touch. This woman can SING! Perhaps the best voice in the female 90s. Saw them live here in Frankfurt years ago at the AU Open Air and they were fuckin' awesome, intoxicating and passionate. Believe me this band has it all. Imagine a big squatter’s party somewhere in Europe, hundreds of people, late at night. You wander around with a buzz of alcohol and drugs in your mind. Three crackers of the very finest. They have made three albums. Get all if you find - highly recommended!!!

TARGET OF DEMAND - Your Choice Live Series 1989

One more fine release is this very high-quality slab and this time with the Linz punk band Target Of Demand. This gig was recorded on 8. December 1989 live @ the Oberhaus, Alzey in Germany and they give us twelve melodic energetic punk trashers. Nothin' more to add but I like to give you a short info about Your Choice: the Your Choice Live Series is a benefit project, supporting the fight against fur trade, keeping people informed about different, more healthy ways of living through a different way of nourishment and helping people who had the courage to even go to jail for helping innocent and weak animals out of theirs. - Top idea which needs support. And now, enter the Oberhaus and be part of it.

- Special Thx to Reinhard -

FRÆBBBLARNIR - Viltu Bjór Væna? 1996

Now a fuckin' rare and awesome post and it's really difficult to get records or anything else from Fræbbblarnir, a Scandinavian band which were formed in 1978 and released a number of records until they quit early in 1983. A punk band playing short, melodic songs fast and raw, they were inspired by the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Damned, Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias, Stiff Little Fingers and the rest of the early Punk and New Wave scene, as well as 1960s bands like the Kinks and Troggs. They appeared in the documentary Rokk í Reykjavík, and the album “Viltu Nammi Væna?” is regarded as a classic. Its members continued playing on and off under various names until a compilation album was released by Smekkleysa (Bad Taste) in 1996, when the original band was re-formed. The band is still active and their record “Í Hnotskurn”, released in 2015 got excellent reviews, an album of the year for veteran critic Halldor Ingi Andresson and top reviews without exception. This re-release on CD from 1996 came via Smekkleysa (Bad Taste) and offers the album "Villtu Nammi Væna" with the addition of the 7Inches "Bjór" and "False Death", Out-Takes from the recording of VNM and some great live recordings as bonus. A great CD with thirty-eight catchy and dirty Killers!!

RITA REM - Ut Ur Mörkret EP 1981

This is the one and only release from this brilliant Swedish punk/powerpop band from Västerås (north of Stockholm). If you search the www for this slab you'll find a lot offers with awful prices and I ask myself not any longer why are these sellers are extremely outrageous. Well, let them sit on it. Musically four great songs on it and they remind me a bit of swaying music, you know (at least the first song sounds so), the second is a one minute cracker to my taste. Side B starts with a touch of ska pulse accompanied with a nice piano solo and the ten minute warning closes with a classic KBD snot rag. So, this record is more than a dry wit. Originally released on Modernes Pop Records and in the same year re-released on AMD Records.

DIE RADIERER - Eisbären & Zitronen 1981

Die Radierer are a post-punk/new wave combo from Limburg/Lahn and their debut album was released by Hamburgs independant label ZickZack Records, their first tapes recorded in 1980 and they found in the stylistically already open german underground scene their own style of playing, to which they move between serious classical guitar punkrock and electronic music and they are truly fun musicians. Their debut EP Angriff auf's Schlaraffenland is a classic record and nowadays their famous one on earth. The band consisted of Christian B. Bodenstein (vocals), Jürgen Beuth (guitars), Peter Lack (drums), Walter Holthaus (bass) and Bernd Pulch (saxophones) and begun as Terry & The Rorists. Die Radierer, the small town boys played no backwoods proles punk, but oblique avant-garde music full-dadaist subversive humor. After three albums - in a negative change German music scene - the band took in the mid 80's a very long break and create a new infrastucture between Frankfurt and England. In the recent years some of their old material was partially re-released with, so far available, only on cassette recordings in small runs on CD. Saw them @ a gig here with Fehlfarben and they played them on the wall (ohne Scheiß) and they're still active.

DE LYCKLIGA KOMPISARNA - Le Som En Fotomodell 1991

De Lyckliga Kompisarna often shortened DLK, were a Swedish punk band which were active from 1989-1997 and again since 2008. DLK was one of the bands that formed the "second punk wave" in the 1990s and this is their first album released via Birdnest Records. The driving force in was singer Mart, who over the years also played various instruments nad he formed DLK together with Björn. The name of the band was taken from a book about the cultural life of the Soviet Union: in a text a Soviet band called The Happy Gentlemen. In 1997 DLK finished its first active period with four gigs for three days at Café 44 in Stockholm. In early 2008, the band announced that it would be reunited with Mart, drummer Jouni who played on the band's first two albums, Roger (former guitarist of Total Egon) and Fredrik on guitar and they're still active. Enjoy fourteen fast fresh melodic pills plus yodelling.

BAD RELIGION - 80-85

October starts with a comprehensive retrospective of classic Bad Religion stuff. The first album plus the rare EP and more.... Enjoy!
