Last post for this month and first and foremost I would like you to recommend a new blog called Austrian Underground and let's visit Thomas, say Hallo :)) and join more rare Austrian punk music. So, this early Austrian punk band has been formed in Vienna 1978 and was with the imprisonment of bandleader Fredi Fender a little thrown off course and with multiple interruptions and changing occupations they existed until 1983. As far as I know, the band released a 7'' and one album called 'Angst Vorm Rock'n Roll?' and some sampler contributions. The Mordbuben AG stands for the Viennese dialect sung snotty punk rock songs. Here on it the legendary Beatles cover version plus the aggressive 'Bleib' Blöd'. Both songs are just quite brilliant. Due to the unexpected death of the Mordbuben AG band leader Fredi Fender in April 2010 there was in his memory and for his 60th birthday a memorial concert given in Vienna on 28. May 2010. I think it was very special. - Enjoy this historic little piece of early Vienna KBD stuff.

STILETTOS - Lolita 7'' 1980
Second 7inch today with this rare and excellent PowerPop 7inch from the Stilettos. Founded in Bordeaux in a cellar in the city center that the group shares with other bands and they released a few 7inches and one album. This record here is their 2nd on Black Sword records. The title track is a decent PowerPop pearl with a driving cool bass line, damn melodic guitars and perfect played, made to hear it again & again, a catchy tune. Side b as well, with a reggae rhythm and mid-tempo in the middle, goes no better. With this record the Stilettos have made a really good single and let's see if I can rustle up another. In 1984 the band (no official dissolution) broke up. In 1991 the Stilettos reform for a single concert, same in 2004.
NEON HEARTS - Venus Eccentric! 7'' 1977
The Neon Hearts were Wolverhampton's first punk band that had a short lived existence from 1977 - 1981 at the height of the punk movement. The band was founded in the summer of 1977 by Steve Heart when he quit Birmingham-based Suburban Studs after being told a sax player was inappropriate in a punk band. The band were highly comitted and rehearsed for 3 hours nightly. They oon had plenty of songs and entered Ginger studios to record the best of them. The result was the now legendary 7'' Venus Eccentric!, released in December 1977 on their own Neon hearts label (a copy will now set you back £60). The band established their own punk venue at the lord Raglan in Wolverhampton and gigged furiously nationwide. Two pearls also here which is a must for every punk compilation.

AGRIMENSOR K - Principio Y Fin 7'' 1982 + ¿Juegas Al Escondite 7'' 1983
Pressed on the small Spanish label DRO this cold Wave and dark synth band released two rare singles from the other side. Pretty melancholic stuff and the perfect soundtrack for my current mood and I love to listen at the enchanting voice of Ignacio. Agrimensor K (named after Kafka's unfinished novel, the Castle) were Ignacio Valencia & Nacho F. Goberna and came together in San Sebastián and had a short career, they never became satisfied with their attempts to record an album. They also featured on the X-Mas compilation Navidades Radioactivas with one song. The songs are very impulsive and remind me of early Cure in their best days, a unique sound unprecedented in its time. Too bad that the band never got the attention they deserved. Brilliant early Lo-Fi goth from Spain.
X-MAS EVE - Paint It Red EP 1982
Back with this little killer, it was self-released by the band and on it four early classic punk tunes. The band were from El Sobrante, California and this is their only record. When I search the net for info then I read usually the word 'ArtPunk', so their music is described as this but what is 'Artpunk'? No idea what this means. Here a four awesome crackers which can include without resorting to any KBD sampler. They're dirty, rough and wild. Okay, the last one has a new wave minimalistic sound but hey! this is still punkrock. I mean, are Minutemen ArtPunk???? Maybe someone would have to explain me what this word means. Until then, I listen carefully to the three men from the East Bay Area and look forward to the upcoming bank holidays.

QUIZZ KIDS - Fruitcake EP 1980
Puuhhh, I'm again a bit washed-out and I don't know where all the booze will end. Anyway, now I sit here and refresh myself a little. Yet a quick post from a very unknown band from Stockholm with their only release. Rising SOTS put out this three song EP in 1980 and apart from the title track which is a bit lame is this rare record a solid release. Tomorrow is a cool KBD punk track and Suicide is a nice unplugged emo tune, not bad. They can be found live here on the Musikverket EP. So AlohaHe, enjoy this coldy day and start some historical.
- Special Thx to Fredrik -
RAMRODS - Schickeria, Schweine & Bonzen EP 1980
Ultra obscure (they never played live and members weren't part of the local scene anymore by the time their records saw the light of day) Hannover-based punk quartet which arose out of the ashes of unrecorded legendary P38 with their first single released on Tilt Records. Recorded & mixed in MusicLab Berlin, April/June 1980. Four solid german punk tunes which pumps every KBD heart faster.

TT GARDEROB 100 - Mitt Liv 7'' 1979
A real awesome record is the only 7inch by this short-lived from Gothenburg: Göran Lindahl (vox), Anders Puke (guitar & vox), Hasse Morgan (bass & vox), Tomas "Flash" Forsberg (guitar & vox) and Staffan Lindahl (drums). Two classic kbd smasher here and certainly one of the best Swedish Punk record of the late 70s. I can listen to 10 times in a row and the plate does not lose meters of soil. Really catchy and well played, TOP!!! There's a nice story about the band name in Peter's Encyclopedia Of Swedish Punk and I can't recommend enough to buy this book. The band finlly broke up in 1980, Anders played for a while with Troublemakers. The title track was used for the superb GBG Punk 77-80 compilation on Nonstop Records in 1986.

V/A - Oi! The French Connection Vol.1 1997
I leave the stage today with this fine record which was pressed on marble vinyl from Boucherie Disc. The créme de la créme of french Oi!/Punk is here present and kickin' the street sound in your blood. All songs are taken from various records which had the bands released in the 80's and meantime hard to find. Quite good song selection with massive hits. One deficit: there is no information about the bands inside and I think for a small supplement should be the cash sufficient. Scheiß was drauf, das Wetter ist scheiße, nachher Umzug helfen mit lecker Essen, der Sonntag kann weitergehen. Coole Platte.

V/A - Korn LIVE!!! Ab Geht Er 1982
Here's a famous live compilation and I'm glad I found this short info on discogs which I like to use here: "This is the first Korn sampler with only bands from Hannover/Germany and all recordings were taken live from the festival on the 21st of November 1981 in the UJZ Kornstraße ("unabhängiges Jugendzentrum", which means "independent youth center") with the exception of Kaltwetterfront. Kaltwetterfront made a recording available, which they did 3 month before in Austria from a cassette recorder. All songs were recorded from the Tonkoop-Hannover, which has their origin in the UJZ Kornstraße as well." The sound quality is consistently okay, each band give everything and I think this record is a brilliant cross-section that shows Hannover had some good bands. Pure Punk!!!

V/A - At The Fuhrers Request 1985
Originally released in 1985 on Rubber Records comes this great Aussie punk/post-punk compilation. The title of this was changed to "At The Solicitor's Request" due to legal advice and stickers were pasted over the word 'Fuhrers' saying 'Solicitor's'. It's amazing what power can have one word and stupid it is that some people become annoyed. In fact disturbing. Anyway, the LP offers an interesting band/song choices and has for everyone a present in their luggage. Nowadays a rarity and the prices obtained by collectors to € 100, - or more.

V/A - Not Great For Great Men 1988
Sometimes it's cool when I buy a record and I can't get any info or reviews at all. So this experience I made with this magnificent slab. A fantastic compilation of largely unknown bands and every single song is a killer!! The known-bands here I know are the Bates from Eschwege, who later released a few records and with their many cover versions they were very successful and Funeral Oration from Holland. The rest of it are absolutely unknown to me and there's no information on the back cover or an insert and the label Weckewerk has probably not live a long time. I call that real underground in a brilliant D.I.Y. style. And I can warmly recommend you this stuff very well and I remember this was my first vinyl rip. Essential!!!

V/A - Klart För Laddning! 1980
The not well punkist LP on Wdthtc I have now for you and some of you out there will wondering what this compilation is doin' here. I would describe the sound here as lame pop, prog rock or Swedish folk and the best track on it is the KSMB song which is a reggae punk tune and I mean they sing here in Italian (wait, I listen a 2nd time...yes it's Italian), awesome really, mention is also the Chamber Music Track from Nya Ljudbolaget which is not bad anyway and I really like it because sometimes I need the old heroes ala Beethoven, Grieg or Mozart. The rest sucks pretty as hell, haha.... and I know this record have not much playing time here. Check out for yourselfs and tell me how the Plate is for you.

V/A - Underground Rockers 2 1989
One of the best covers I think is made here on this compilation and I quote the liner-notes on the back cover which I can only agree: "Another bunch of UNDERGROUND ROCKERS bands who, outside of the fanzine network and for a few, the John Peel show, are totally ignored. The first "Underground Rockers" compilation saw The Instigators sing "Full Circle", a phrase that seems very suitable when you think about influences. A growing number of British bands are being influenced by the American "Hardcore" groups, whose sound has evolved from listening to the likes of The Ruts and Stiff Little Fingers. On this LP you'll find both bands who lean towards the U.S. Hardcore sound and others who favour the early sound of the British Punk bands. But who ever they listen to they refrain from straight copying, each strives for their own sound and style, with just a nod in the right direction of their musical preferences. As with the first volume, it's not important whether you'd give these bands the "Punk" or "Hardcore" tag, judge 'them on their songs, be they fast or slow and on their energy, excitement and power. They deserve to be heard. Many of these bands are finding that they're better received over in Europe. Countless tales of big crowds at gigs, friendly, appreciative people and good treatment all round. It's time we, in this country, stopped being so snobbish and started treating bands, be they British, American, European or whatever, with the respect they so rightly deserve." (Tony Suspect)

V/A - Killed By Death #3 1989
Oopss, I opened up the second beer now and holy shit it tastes good again, especially early in the morning, life's a fuckin' bitch (rülps). So now welcome to the wonderful world of punk rock dear followers. Yet another mindboggling of rare '70/'80s obnoxicusness is now to be prevailing on your turntable, sending the sound of righteousnoss out of the speakers and into your heart. And an all star cast is it. A decent follow-up to the amazing #2. A classic in far too many ways to even take a stab at here. Some great tracks and the rest worthwhile, except the John Berenzy track which is unnecessary. First pressing (700 copies) on black vinyl with yellow and black labels. Reissue is on blue vinyl and has the same songs as the original. Fuck!, this is an further awesome release which shows how great the early punk scene worldwide was. LIXOMANIA - Violência & Sobrevivência EP 1982
Last for today, a fresh EP with classic KBD stuff. Lixomania was a punk rock band from Brazil, formed 1979 in Sao Paulo by Adauto "Ada" (bass), Tikinho (guitar & vox) and Zú on (drums), they started playing in the late 70s, mainly influenced by early UK Punk heroes Sex Pistols, The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, UK Subs, etc...they become one of the first Brazilian punk-bands and also released one of the first punk records. After some years in practice Lixomania made their first presentation at a meeting of unheard punk bands with only three songs in their repertoire and they played an awesome show, on the same day other pretty punk bands like Inocentes, Colera & Olho Seco showed up. Today all their records are classics. 1982 they released this record (their only one) with 6 brilliant punk smashers and they appear on the O Começo Do Fim Do Mundo compilation LP with a very badly recorded song - it was recorded on a walkman! A lot of gigs followed and Lixomania was the first punk band to play outside of Sao Paulo state and in March 1983 the band split and than later changed their name to 365 and became a new wave band. 365 still exists today. Review: "Lixomania sound a bit like some of the better new English bands, but with an edge and vocal rawness more reminiscent of Finnish groups. There's one thrasher and a bunch of mid-tempo punk songs covering themes like punk not dying, massacres of innocent people, etc. The lyrics are in Portugese, the language of Brazil." - Tim Yohannon (from Maximum Rock'n'Roll #5, March/April 1983)

HJERTESTOP - Åårh Fuck..Det Er HjerteStop! EP 2005
Copenhagen's Hjertestop is another amazing fast european punk band making a name for itself through putting out kick-ass singles and playing as many shows as possible. They're reminiscent of label mates Amdi Petersens Armé. This six-song EP is a magnum opus, and has enough US distribution that no self-respecting fan of fast hardcore can make excuses for not picking it up. Enjoy this EP....it's great.
NIPPLE ERECTORS - King Of The Bop 7'' 1978
Sittin' at home with crappy sore throat which go beastly on my nerves and I'm not really in the mood to do much here but a few posts today and I'm sure you would like it. The Nipple Erectors first 7inch on Soho Records is a damn good one and may you know them as the Nips. They were an English punk band formed in London 1976 by female punk artist Shanne Bradley and are notable as Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan's first musical group. There's a lot info in the net and I'm sluggish so my words end here. Two catchy tunes at the end of the week.

JACK RABBIT BAND - The Sprayer EP 1980
Early Swiss Wave/Punk from this Zurich based punk quartet, featuring former LIARS drummer Peter Berger, with their great debut which was recorded in August of 1979 in London at Rockstar Studios. Three songs here, the first two cuts are more pop/wave oriented while with 'Revenge' is a catchy punk riff in a nice KBD dress on it (no wonder that song made it on the Killed By Death #41 compilation). In 1981 they released another single called "Balla Balla" on EMI but I never heard it. Presumably they have lost their punk roots on this record because we all know how EMI defined punk, haha... Peter Berger released a highly recommended single ('My Sex Is Bad/PsychoTerror') in 1979 on Musik-Project as well.
FUCK GEEZ - Cut It Off EP 1983
The Fuck Geez first formed in Osaka, Japan in 1982, taking inspiration from '77 UK punk bands as well as Japanese hardcore bands of the era. The band then relocated to Maizuru city, Kyoto, Japan in 1984. They first debuted with the "Cut It Off" flexi in 1983 followed by the "Zzz........" flexi in 1985, "Punk Rock de..." 7inch and "Not For Sale" flexi in 1986 all on the MCR Co. label. "Here's The Fuck Geez" 7inch was released in 1987 on Jungle Hop International (France). The Fuck Geez also released a studio and live album in 1989 entitled "No Way To Escape" and appeared on many compilations of flexi, 7", LP/CD and video in 1980s on labels from the US, France, Finland, and more. While their sound progressed somewhat over time, the music retained a distinctly Japanese sound and style that the country was well known for....chaotic Japanese hardcore punk. However, other than a few compilation tracks, their material has been out of print for many years. Fuck Geez vocalist Yumikes remains very active in the punk scene today running the great MCR Company label. Enjoy six wild rough songs.

T.S.T - 7'' + 12'' Collection 1981-1984
Another superb collection of 7+12inches in this file, the first EP Vås Punx (1981), No Teenage Future 12” (1982) and the Sweden 12” (1984). "T.S.T was formed 1977 in Västerås by Jarmo (JM’s), Karri (Zäba) and Nandor (Nalle), but then named Panic and later on The Rats (Rots?). The name T.S.T (The Schock Treatment) came from Ramones 2nd LP and the song Gimme Schock Treatment. The band played a lot at Bryggis in their hometown Västerås before the first 7inch came (Vås Punx EP), then followed a numerous of gigs around in Sweden. Then came (No Teenage Future 12”) and T.S.T took part in an live recording for national radio P3’s show Ny Våg (New Wave), it resultet in an LP which to put it briefly was called T.S.T. By this time a new drummer had replaced Karri for the recording of the album, then followed another Maxi (Sweden 12”), the band then changed members in a couple of rounds before the last Lp came in 85 (All Throught The Nights LP), where Karri had come back as drummer. After approximately 2 years T.S.T departed and was reformed to Grim Jacks, to eventually form Dynamite Wasteland by Jarmo" (source: Swedishpunk.com). Musically there are flaky '77 punk with a pinch of hardcore, a total of 22 songs.

LAUFMASCHE - Hey Du 7'' 1985
Not much info about this Austrian all-girl band, think they were from Vienna and this is their only release on Tonau Records. Two classic Austro-Pop goodies about love etc... The flip has with 'Schöner Fremder Mann' a cover version of Connie Francis' hit from the 60s. Saw this record at ebay and asked of course my Austria connection and as you can see successful. Nice plate from pretty women which musically don't need to hide. Check it out!

AZRA - Lijepe Žene Prolaze Kroz Grad EP 1980
Azra was a rock band from Zagreb (Croatia) which were popular across Yugoslavia in the 1980s. Azra was formed in 1977 by its frontman Branimir "Johnny" Štulic. The other two members of the original line-up were Mišo Hrnjak (bass) and Boris Leiner (drums). The band is named after a verse from "Der Asra" by Heinrich Heine. They are considered to be one of the most influential bands from the former Yugoslav New Wave rock era and the Yugoslav Rock scene in general. This release (Pretty Women Passing Through The Town) was their second EP on the legendary Jugoton label. 3 pretty songs, one instrumental and so here it is.
HARD-ONS - All Set To Go 7'' 1987
"This record is dedicated to anyone who has ever gone to a show and started a fight... FUCK OFF!" Clear statement and a look at the brilliant cover showing what idiots here are also meant. Two short melodic goals rushing through and give every constipation a quick end. A little info from discogs: The Hard-Ons are a melodic punk rock band from Sydney, Australia who officially formed in 1982. They are often acknowledged as Australia's most commercially successful independent band and have found international success since the release of their debut Surfin' On My Face EP in 1985 (later re-released in 1987 on Australia's Waterfront Records). The band's origins can be traced back to Western Sydney's Punchbowl Boys High School, where all three band members were students. The multicultural trio of Keish De Silva (of Sri Lankan descent), Blackie (Yugoslavian heritage) and Ray Ahn (Korean ancestry) were initially too young to play gigs in pubs, but honed their skills playing at parties, school dances and the famous Sydney "all ages shows" of the era. Largely influenced by punk, metal and psychadelic bands, the Hard-Ons sound is hard to categorise, though their love of the independent punk spirit (with the members deliberately controlling their own careers: recording, booking and promoting themselves, creating their own artwork (Ray), choosing support bands and even managing the merchandise desk whilst on tour) has found the trio never short of fans (Henry Rollins being one 'celebrity' who is never short of a good word to say about them). These unconventional decisions, combined with first class songwriting talents, powerful live performances and a healthy sense of humour earned the band a large following in Europe as well as their native Australia. This record was released in two different color sleeves, blue/yellow and red/orange. Let it run!!

TIGER TAILS - Words Without Conviction EP 1980
Another band which released only one brilliant EP is this 4-piece combo from Burnley (Lancashire) on Snotty Snail Records. And like the Tyrants post before all three songs are very catchy and made to listen again and again. This is the kind of music for which I am willing to spend a few euros. At the Au gig last week a record seller told me he gets five copies from 8th Routh Army's Nihilist Olympics album for five Euros and I'm sayin' it's incredible. The typ found the albums in his cellar and all in excellent condition. It's clear that he has not long to ask and immediately grab it. He now offered each for € 18, -. This is free market economy. I guess with this fantastic EP this is excluded.

KLINISCH SAUBER - Kommerz EP 1982
Low-Fi-Synth-Punk would I describe this little record from Klinisch Sauber and behind this name stands Charly Schmid from Zurich and he's extreme angry. This is reflected in his magnificent lyrics. The increasing commercialization of the present as well as 1982 becomes here a different view. The title track denounces the stupid & wasteful consumer society which run next to us like aimless mutants and be blinded by the colorful neon signs.... buy buy buy and commercial is used only for profit related interest without consideration for people, nature, culture... a hot topic, then and now. "I am your whore, I spread my legs, always ready..." The second track is about the fuckin' war. "...they want war, they make war....against us..." Charly creates the line between fear and rejection and bangs mercilessly provocative his aggressiveness in his voice. The last song is about interpersonal relationships, cold war, east & west, unwillingness to compromise, unity. Musically accompanied Charly his chant with minimalist monotone eletrobeats which shoots after prolonged listening me into a true ecstasy. Kommerz Records, re-released 2013 in a limited edtition on Rotten Totten Records. What can I say? This record is damn cool and should be heard.
MONROE - Polio For The People 7'' 1978
First one for today and I start with a fantastic two-sided killer 7inch. I'm glad I found some info about this record and I can tell you this is a must have!! I post this because it was a request. From lastfm comes this: "Legendary punk-rock cult-band from the Netherlands (Vlissingen, Zeeland), fronted by singer Jaap van Boven. They only released one single (Polio For The People/Disco Fever) in 1978. The single was very controversial. Around that time there was an outbreak of polio in the orthodox-protestant community in the province of Zeeland, because they refused vaccinations because of their belief. The picture sleeve showed the band around an open grave, with Jaap taking a crap on the coffin. “Is God your Shepherd, who commands. The Wheelchair dealer rubs his hands is a classic line from the song’s lyrics. Jaap van Boven would later re-emerge in several other bands (such as Het Electric Combo) and is still active in the local music scene." And toine1962 wrote a perfect review about this rare record and I would use here and I'm thankful: "Monroe was the first punk-rock band in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Singer Jaap van Boven and his band released one single, which a lot of people considered as tasteless. Most of that had to do with the picture on the sleeve, on which he took a crap onto a coffin. In the late 70's Zeeland suffered a polio epidemic, mainly hitting orthodox protestants, who would not have their children vaccinated. Polio For The People was a protest against their way of life (...is God your shepherd who commands. The wheelchair dealer rubs his hands....). Nowadays the single is a true collector's item." I have nothing to add!, thank You!

ARLO STENMIT & HIS HAMMERKIDS - Belinda 7'' 1979
Almost no one from the Vienna punk scene at that time heard of this band. Only in the nineties acquired Arlo Stenmit & His Hammerkids a certain level of awareness with the song 'Belinda' on the international punk compilation Bloodstains Across The World #2, in their choice set and these obscure 7" (b.t.w. cool cover) were soon on the search lists of all the punk record collectors worldwide. If you listen at 'Belinda', you can understand the reason why. The song rocks!!! It sounds like a punkrock joke in the style of Johnny Moped: bad English, disguised voices, snotty dirty guitar riffs and sing along choruses which can be desribed as comedy punk. That the single was released on a commercial, otherwise dreary Pop/Rock specialized disco label, does not detract the fun too. The flip has with 'COP's Boogie' a nice instrumental tune which starts like an E.L.O. intro, awesome!!!

V/A - Back-Stage Pass 1986
Back to some old stuff to what every punk out there already knows. Released by Rossil Records in Portugal originally in 1980 and I have here the Polish pressing on Pronit Records from 1986 and I don't know if there's a UK release. Anyway, on it the Créme of early UK Punkrock and I think the makers use the current singles from that time to put it together and bring them closer to the scene outside the UK. Maybe an unofficial release. There is sadly no info inside. Worth mentioning are the tracks by Manufactured Romance with a female singer and I have never heard anything before and do not known the band to date. Who takes a look at the tracklist will find out that only hits are represented and you have when listening a lot of fun & maybe many nice memories as I.

2.Wanna Be A Star - COCKNEY REJECTS

BLUT+EISEN - Schön Geseh'n 1985
"Hart zu sich selbst, gegenüber anderen" - Blut+Eisen is a German Punkband which you can't ignore and I'm sure a lot of you know their powerful debut album which features an energetic and thrashy sound. And with their second LP the band shine with polished lyrics, they describe the everyday horror, the sudden overturning of normal into deep, dark abyss. Bloody, sometimes sober, laconically, but mostly gripping and originally. The production is again perfect and holds the standard of the first album. Musically splendid! A band I can listen to every day and I'm glad to have both albums. They featured on the great Keine Experimente compilation and if you want more info then click here and find an interview with the band from 2008, mind you in German. - "Not Words And Reforms Will Change The World, But Blood & Iron" (Otto von Bismarck anno 1862) - A Must Have!!!!

CODIGO NEUROTICO - s/t EP 1983
Código Neurótico is an awesome Punk band from Terrassa/Spain. They were founded on a hot summer of 1981 and left the scene in 1998. During that time they did many concerts and a few records. In 2010 the band reformed again and continue rehearsing. A friend was interested in reissuing old Codigo stuff on his label Black Sheep Records to keep alive the memory of the group. The result of this is a compilation with 20 tracks called 'Sin Batalla Ni Bandera'. Here is their debut EP with five typical Spanish Hardcore/Punk numbers, reminds me a bit of Olho Seco, short, rough and excellent beats. If anyone has their 'En La Barra Del Bar' 12'' please drop me a mail.
THE END - Snutdjävlar 7'' 1979
The End was a Swedish punk band from Mora and was formed in 1978 by drummer Patrik Gustavsson and guitarist Ingemar Sollgard. The band's first vocalist was Mikael Eriksson, who later was involved in a kidnapping and shootout with the Asian Network. The first gig was 1978 in a school and then, Eriksson left the band and new members were singer Håkan "Oak" Oak & bassist Bengt Agefjord. The End did some local gigs in Dalarna and the Music Office in Stockholm in October 1979 (together with, among other things Urrk and Mold). They released this self-produced single in autumn 1979, though the labels say 1980. This was to be able to sell the record for a longer period of time without it feeling too old. The sound here is fantastic early '77 KBD punk and it was never released with a picture sleeve. 'Krossa!' has been described as one of the first punk songs in the hardcore style in Sweden. The single is now a collector's item that has been valued at over 1000 Kroner. Before the single was recorded "Oak" left the band and bassist Bengt Ager Fjord sang. After recording, the singer returned to the band. The End later changed its name to Beyaz and performed their last gig in 1985. Ingemar Sollgard continued playing in various band formations, beginning with Patrik Gustavsson on drums and Lars Lustig on vocals bass. He later became a member of the band 'In The Colonnades' and now plays in "Antibodies". Patrik Gustavsson was brutally ax murdered in 1991, why I do not know in detail. - This record has 9/10 stars in “The Encyclopedia Of Swedish Punk” book. And now: relax and start the download. Cheers!!
- Special Thx to Fredrik -
CITY-X - Elektriske Svin 2004
HanseQrt, Lars Grønning and Gert Oestrich were with City-X one of the early '80s most memorable Danish punk bands. They borrowed fire from bands like the Sex Pistols and The Clash, and carried the torch forward at the Copenhagen stone bridge. The nubile boys pointed mocking fingers at those in power with chants like "Police/Military" and "Mutual Dependence." The rebellious texts were part of the group's activist involvement in future youth - they were always with their audience on the barricades before and after the concerts. This is a collection of City X's provocative and aggressive punk songs were compiled in 2001 in Electrical pigs, and the band has recently played protest concert in connection with the demolition of the Youth Center. With City-X, you can experience the atmosphere of 80's punk and squatter scene and get an idea of why the message is still relevant. 29 great early 80's danish material ran from catchy hook laden punk to fast powerful hardcore.

RIBS - Man With No Brain 7'' 1978
After a long time here's another rare gem from my Wanted-List. Only record by this very unknown band from the U.K. which was released on Aerco Records. The Ribs were a four piece combo and that's all info I have, a real shame because both songs are kickin' in a brilliant '77 melodic power-pop style. The a-side stomps slowly through and it's like a walk on the streets while the people look strange at you, to that the slightly little psychedelic vocals and you know: "I'm different". The flip is a beautiful guitar number with a impulsive rhythm and a fine solo in the middle, nice mid-tempo. A truly beautiful rare 7inch and I'm glad I can finally listen to it.
