GOGOL PREMIER ET LA HORDE - Hencor' Pir 1983

Second album by Gogol Premier Et La Horde on Accord with eleven untypical punk songs which doesn't cause an earthquake but sufficient for a good atmosphere while cooking or drinkingIn comparison to Vite Avant La Saisie I miss the snottiness power and the 'slow' pieces are getting used to. A bit to smooth ironed the production for my taste, but the French like to experiment. Anyway, for breakfast on a cold morning I can only increase myself. But first, the routine life.

NEGATIVE GAIN - Back From The Dead 1986

Before I enjoy myself with soccer tonight this Killer debut album by Negative Gain from Toronto. A short Band History (by Grant Slavin): Negative Gain was founded in Toronto, Ontario by Peter Warner who wrote all of the lyrics and provided rehearsal space in his basement. Filling out the lineup was Grant C. Slavin on guitar, Steve Currie on bass, and Andrew Mosely on drums. All members were in their mid-teens at the time. Their influences included Minor Threat, Millions Of Dead Cops, the Misfits, and the Dead Kennedys, as well as local TO bands Direct Action and Sudden Impact. Negative Gain got their first break in '83 when we were asked by local Toronto promoter Jill Heath to open for Jodie Fosters Army at the city's legendary punk club The Turning Point. After the show Pete and Grant went skateboarding with JFA. The evening was documented in a subsequent issue of Thrasher as JFA's guitarist Don Pendelton was writing a column for the rag documenting their tour. Other memorable Negative Gain gigs around this time include warming up for bands like the Circle Jerks, Gang Green, the Descendents and 7 Seconds. The young thrash band soon went from listening to their favorite bands' records on a daily basis to hanging out with them backstage and stealing their beer rider! More help from Jill Heath came when the promoter sent Negative Gain's 1985 demo tape, Attack Of The Killer Bears, to Pushead for review. Pushead evidently like the tape so much that he offered to release a full-length LP for the band on his Pusmort label. Negative Gain recorded their album in Oakville, Ontario in about five hours on a Saturday afternoon, as studio time was limited to what the young band could afford to spend on the recording. The session was produced by Brian Taylor of the Toronto band Youth Youth Youth.

Sadly, Pete Warner committed suicide not too long after the recording was completed, and never lived to see its release. His last gig with the band was with Toronto's Bunchofuckingoofs. Negative Gain continued on as a three-piece for about two more years, before splitting in the late 1980s.

I recommend you visit Stormy's Blogged & Quartered blog where the full Discography 1985-1986 is waiting for you. Great Record!

PROPAGANDA - The Nine Lives Of Dr. Mabuse 12'' 1984

Now a post which is in my opinion one of the best records of German Pop culture. The first release by Propaganda from Dusseldorf, formed 1982 by Ralf Dörper (a member of the German industrial band Die Krupps). As a trio, with artist Andreas Thein and vocalist Susanne Freytag, the group made initial recordings in Germany which were destined for future release in the UK, where Ralf Dörper's early experimental recordings had received critical acclaim by radio DJ John Peel and journalist Chris Bohn aka Biba Kopf. With the inclusion of classically trained musician and composer Michael Mertens and singer Claudia Brücken (who had worked with Freytag in her previous band, The Topolinos), music journalist Paul Morley signed the band to Trevor Horn's newly formed ZTT Records label. They were one of the initial roster of acts signed to Trevor Horn's ZTT label, between 1984 and 1986, during which they released the critically acclaimed album A Secret Wish"Dr. Mabuse", named after the fictional character made famous by filmmaker Fritz Lang is a fantastic ten minute pop goodie and I'm still excited and there is no comparable in this way. The third single Machinery is also a cracker. I still have some pop treasures and maybe I'll let them live again. Enjoy!

THE NOSEBLEEDS - Ain't Bin To No Music School 7'' 1977

Rare vinyl by this short-lived combo and they were formed in Wythenshawe, Manchester, England 1976 under the name of Wild Ram. Changed their name to Ed Banger and the Nosebleeds in early 1977 with the following line-up: Edmund 'Ed Banger' Garrity (vocals), Vincent 'Vini' Reilly (guitar), Phillip 'Toby' Tomanov (drums), and Pete Crooks (bass). In late 1977 Billy Duffy replaced Vini Reilly and Morrissey replaced Ed Banger and subsequently they shortened the group's name to the Nosebleeeds. Ed Banger ended up in a later incarnation of Slaughter & The Dogs while Vini Reilly formed Durutti Column. Pete Crooks and Toby Toman continued on as the Nosebleeds. "Billy knew this guy Morrissey, who ran the New York Dolls Fan Club and wrote lyrics - and got him to join the group, although he had never sung before. The pair of them dumped all the group's old songs and wrote an entirely new set like 'Peppermint Heaven' and 'I Think I'm Ready For The Electric Chair'. The audience was perplexed; it was a strange band!" - Pete Frame, 1989. However, in his autobiography Morrissey denied ever being a member of the band. He claims that Duffy recruited him after the break up of the Nosebleeds and they wrote songs together. For their live performances they hadn't decided on a band name. They roped in the rhythm section of the Nosebleeds and Paul Morley used this name for a live review.

The Nosebleeds did two gigs one at the Ritz [support to Magazine] and a Rabid Records benefit at the Manchester Polytechnic before dissolving in May of 1978. After the group split up Morrissey went on to form the Smiths, Toby joined Blue Orchids, and Pete Crooks joined up with Vini Reilly in Durutti Column. The A-side was booked on numerous compilations but the flip I like better.

STREBERS - Till En Vän 1992

Third full length album by the Strebers on Birdnest Records with twelve decent melodic hardcore cracks. The band is from Strängnäs and were originally formed in 1985 with Micke "Ulke" Johansson on vocals and guitar, Johnny "JR" Rydh on drums and Pelle Pettersson on bass (later replaced by Fredrik "Ztikkan" Blomberg). The band was folded after Johnny "JR" Rydh's tragic death in a car accident in 1992. More infos and music you get by clicking on the small 7inch collection which found the way in this theatre four years ago.

V/A - Vrući Dani I Vrele Noći 1982

In ex-Yugoslavia, some great records were released on Jugoton, and the range covered all genres. A very good example is this compilation of New Wave, PowerPop, Punk, Synth Pop, which provides good mood and relaxation on this sunny warm autumn day. There are some of the artists on vinyl and it's worth getting to know some of them. So, should you still plan train or long car rides today, put this sound into the player and bridge the time with it. A little poem at the end: "Your star shines bright in the sky, I want to follow it. Your voice touches my skin and electrifies my soul. Your spirit envelops me, I feel secure. Spread your love far out, like overgrown veins, flowing down on me like rain. So you stay with me, so I go with you ..... into the unknown." And now Soccer.

OI POLLOI - Unite & Win! 1987

Fantastic record on Oi! Records opens today the musical enjoyment and so you know when, where and why a bit info, not written by me: Oi Polloi are punx from Edinburgh that formed around 1981. Starting as an Oi! band, they are now generally more associated with the anarcho-punk genre. The band has become notable for their contributions to the Scottish Gaelic punk subgenre. The name probably comes from the Greek expression "Οι πολλοί" and it is a pun on the phrase hoi polloi meaning "the masses" or "the common people". The band has gone through about 50 members since their formation, and their only permanent member has been vocalist Deek, who has also been involved in Gaelic-language television. The band has included punks and skinheads. The members have been supporters of Anti-Fascist Action and Earth First!, and they use the motto "No Compromise in Defence of Our Earth," which is an adaptation of Earth First!'s motto. They support direct action in defence of the environment, hunt sabotage and resistance against racism, sexism, homophobia, fascism and imperialism. Countless albums and singles have been recorded since 1984, on numerous compilations, find a few...

SKI & DER REST - Saus Und Braus 1982

Early 1980s New Wave Band around Munich's Miss Miracle Marion Siekmann. The other band members were Gogo Eisert (guitar), Helmut Müller (keyboard instruments), Michael Talhammer (bass) and Peter Enderlein (drums). First 7inch came on Lächerlich! Schallplatten, a song on the Munich compilation Reifenwechsel Leicht Gemacht, and finally the album a year later with eleven shallow new wave goodies. A review from Sounds 08/1982): "A Bibiband of a different kind is Ski & Der Rest, whose singer Marion Siekmann has wasted her valuable youth with a tailor's apprenticeship - her really brilliant appearance was probably the key to awarding a record deal with Teldec, even after several hours of staring at Why Not where she was accompanied by Robert Goerl, the twenty-two-year-old Marion has only one obvious stumbling block: her energetic and ambitious vocal attempts at Ski & Der Rest, the only group in Munich that still sounds like a strained gym version of the B 52's ". Well, hard to share this opinion after almost forty years, no top record but not bad... check them.

WASTELAND - Leave Me Alone 7'' 1980

Second 7Inch by this combo from Canterbury/Kent and Wasteland were Tony (vocals), Don (bass), Tom (guitar), Tig (drums). This slab was released via Invicta/Ace Records in an edition of 500 copies. Two nice mod punkies with female vox, even on compilations, for example Back To Front #3. So it is, soon Soccer Euro-League, Yeah!

THE DICKIES - Paranoid 7'' 1978

An absolute classic and should not be missing in any decent record collection is the fourth 7'' of the Dickies, they were among the first punk rock bands to emerge from Los Angeles. They formed in early 1977 after guitarist Stan Lee and bassist Billy Club saw The Damned on their first American tour. The band made their live debut at the Whisky a GoGo in September of the same year. The Dickies were the first California punk band to appear on network television (C.P.O. Sharkey), and the first California punk band to be signed to a major record label (A&M Records). Paranoid is a great cover by Black Sabbath from 1970 and is for me the punk anthem par excellence, where the original is already great and hardly upgradeable, but the band has it done terrific in my opinion. Many records were made and the boys are still on tour. And now it's the end of the broadcast, see you tomorrow.

ADRIAN CUBA - Kamp I Kramp EP 2018

Recorded 1982 in small town studio, Karlstad and first released on the Picassos Barn tape compilation, Slyngel Rekords has pushed these three songs again and as # 018 of their series unforgettable Swedish punk classics in an edition of 300 copies in chic purple vinyl last year re-activated. The band consisted of Gunnar (vocals/bass), Gnissel (guitar/vocals) and Pyri (drums) and I guess, after a short time they broke up and more info is not  available, they're not even mentioned in the essential encyclopedia by Peter Jandreus, so you'll see this combo is a real find. Enjoy this sound and search for more Slyngel posts top left.

KNIFE EDGE - Favourite Girl 7'' 1980

Only 7Inch (2000 copies were pressed) by this band from Leeds on No Hessle Records. Knife Edge were Mark (vocals), Tim (guitar), Charly (bass), Martin (drums) and the strength of the four were their live performances, 999, Iggy Pop, Eric Wreckless, etc.... they have one more song on the Rock On compilation from EMI and in 1981 the band broke up. Two beautiful nuggets and the flip is for me the winner because more energy is in. More info on Bored Teenagers #2 with other heroes of the early 80's.

Back in Europe and just before the turn of the millennium, the French label Crânes Blasés has released this nice Oi!/Punk compilation in an edition of 999 copies with fifteen interesting bands. Fantastic HC/Punk compilation from Brazil on Ataque Frontal Records with twenty killer tracks from rather unknown, but high-grade bands, which were active in the 80s and most of them have also brought their sound to vinyl with at least one album. Two songs per band and we get what we all like: short songs, lust for pogo, distorted guitars, angry vocals, energetic rhythms, positive vibes, thirst... no time for sleep. Come with loads of infos and band bio's, reissued on CD in 2006 with ten bonus tracks. TORTURE - Vom Ersten Bis Zum Letzten 7'' 1980

First release of the small Frostschutz label from Hanover and was issued with three different covers. Torture were a predecessor or side project of the later well-known band Klischee. Of the single there are only a few hundred pieces (about 200-300), making it one of the rarest Hanoverian punk record. Cover in D.I.Y. style glued together by the band itself. Otherwise little info for you, no compilation contributions and for the palate there are two juicy fillet pieces. The 7'' is also known as Rock Gegen Rechts.

BORED! - Satisfaction EP 1989

Fourth 7Inch on Dog Meat, 1200 copies, from Bored!, formed in Geelong 1987 by Grant Gardner (bass), Adrian (keyboards), Justin (drums), John (guitar) [ex-Behind The Magnolia Curtain] and Dave (vocals/guitars) [ex-Bodies, Slaughter House]. Thomas' previous punk band, Bodies, had formed in Geelong in 1983, by 1985 he had joined the Melbourne-based group, Slaughter House. Late in 1986, Thomas started a new band, International Rescue, which successively became Sister Anne and then White Noise. By 1987, the group had the line-up of Gardner, Hann, Munday, Nolan and Thomas and were renamed as Bored!. Their name was derived from a 1978 single, "Bored", by Detroit punk rockers Destroy All Monsters. In October 1988, Bored! issued their debut extended play, Bored!, on the independent label, Grown Up Wrong, which included a cover version of Lobby Loyde's "Human Being". Punk rock webzine, 'Noise For Heroes' Steven Gardner, described the EP, "basic, heavy riffs that grind away, drums that never tap when they can bludgeon, and David Thomas singing voice, a voice whose general texture sounds like The Rules being ripped in two." In the following year they released, Negative Waves, their first studio album. After its appearance Gardner was replaced on bass guitar by Tim Hemensley (ex-Royal Flush, God). With Hemensley on board they released a second album, Take It Out On You, in 1990 and toured Europe.

In 1991 Hemensley and Nolan left to form Powder Monkeys, Munday and Thomas continued with Russell Baricevic (Gas Babies, Macho Clowns) on bass guitar. In December they released a third album, Feed The Dog, on Survival Records. Their fourth album, Junk, appeared in October 1992 with eight tracks produced by The Celibate Rifles guitarist, Kent Steedman; and four tracks by Rose Tattoo's Peter Wells. In March 1993 a compilation , Scuzz, collected thirteen studio out-takes, recorded between 1991 and 1992, and nine live tracks recorded on 13 May 1992 @ Prince Of Wales Hotel. By the end of 1993 the band had disbanded.

Dave Thomas managed fellow Geelong band, Magic Dirt, he later joined the group on guitar from August 1995 to July 1997. Tim Hemensley (1972–July 2003) on bass guitar and lead vocals, and John Nolan on guitar, founded punk, indie rockers, Powder Monkeys (1991–2002). From 1997 Baricevic, Munday and Thomas periodically reformed Bored! with Matt Randall on rhythm guitar. In 1999 Thomas oversaw a 2× CD compilation album, Chunks 1988-'94, for Full Toss Records, which was issued in March 2000 and with line-up of Thomas with Matt Daley (guitar), Mark (drums) and Ben (bass) undertook a short European tour.

DIE WUT - Die Wut EP 1982

Gelsenkirchen, November 1980; the foundation of the occupation Stefan (vocals), Semmel (guitar), Eric (bass) and Pedro Cigar (drums), by Die Wut (not to be confused with the fury hardcores WUT from Langenfeld) was celebrated and on 24.04.1981 followed the first official gig with Upright Citizens at the Paul-Loebe-Haus in Gelsenkirchen. In late 1981 they recorded four dirty punkrock numbers for their debut EP which was then released in March 1982. And this record is pure energy punkrock which I love listen to: raw, wild, dirty & real. One year later the band broke up because of personal differences. 1999 reissue of the EP via Dirty Faces Records and the label sold 2000 copies in three days, while the band have sold in 1982/83 just 500 copies. 2007 the band is re-formed and the band played again several concerts with sensational feedback, so the mob demanded more and the band did them a favor and threw out an compilation called The Early Years 1981-1982 with rare demos & live material, a nice gesture I think. For 2019 a world tour with the Scorpions and the Rolling Stones is planned, so order tickets quickly.

SCREAMING DEAD - The 12'' Inches 1983-1985

Screaming Dead were formed 1980 in Cheltenham and were a punk band with a strong interest in the dark and morbid. They described themselves as a horror punk band. Guitar Player Tony McCormak played an important role in the sound and image of the band. They released five records during their existence of which you'll find the three 12"s here. The other two records are the 'Valley Of The Dead' 7" and the 'Paint It Black' 7" (which I don't own for the moment). There has been a discography CD released in 1993 via Angel Records called 'Bring Out Yer Dead' but it is hard to find nowadays. The band reformed in 1997 to do some reunion gigs and recorded the 'Death Rides Out' CD that contains re-recorded old songs and some new ones. The band split up again in 1999.

NAUSEA - Ευρωπαϊκή Αναγέννηση 1992

Normally I watch Bundesliga at this time but this weekend is not so let's come to another rare record from my favorite holiday country and this little nugget was released via Greek Athanati Levendia Productions and it's the debut by Naftia (Ναυτία, Greek for Nausea), a four piece from Thessaloniki, and were formed 1988 by Vaggelis (vocals/bass), Yiannis & Hristos (vocals/guitars), Sonia (vocals/drums). A bit info: "This band has absolutely nothing to do with what went before or what follows. From angry citizens and with many changes in their compositions, Nausea saw punk as a way of conveying their messages and claiming their ideas. Keep away from any commercialization, no affiliation with companies, even independent ones, from music movers, music producers, concert venues or tickets to them. Unique in their authenticity with a strong and faithful faith and a non-negotiable ideology.

They immediately become the most important representatives of anarchopunk in Greece. Leading the way in setting up the Thessaloniki D.I.Y. on stage, they call bands from all over Europe. With double vocals by man and woman, lusty lyrics, animal rights, sexism, globalization, extreme hardcore as successful as Conflict.

They tour Europe and release the live Sex Cartridge, Drugs And Greek Salad. After another cassette of Sweet Secret Of Life comes their album European Renaissance. Manifesto tray with no payroll and direct hit to the snail. In 1994 comes a split LP with the German Graue Zellen entitled The Nautical Kinky Horror Show which also features an old track of Out of Control Mother of Morph. The band broke up in the mid 1990's." (Miltos Tsipsios)

SICK PLEASURE - Aids 1983

Sick Pleasure was a short-lived combo from Berlin and consisted of Dave (vocals), Subi (guitars), Rolf (bass), Alwin (drums) and Aids is their only album, released via Pleasure Principle. In the same year Dave founded Destiny Records and sang after Sick Pleasure in other well-known Berlin bands: Porno Patrol, The Rest and No Allegiance. The band toured numerous but couldn't hardly establish and so their album is only known to a few. We listen to thirteen pieces which hiss like a decent Erdhuka on a relaxed warm October afternoon. I would be grateful for good scans because this is not my rip but the quality is okay. More posts soon, enjoy!

BERLIN - Over 21 7'' 1980

One of the early Dublin Punk/New Wave bands. Early line-ups included John Borrowman & Chris Green who left in mid-1978 to form The Atrix . Ex School Kids drummer Charlie Hallinan joined around the same time, while original drummer Pat Moylett (brother of Boomtown Rat Johnny 'Fingers' Moylett) became the bands manager. Berlin were accused of cashing in on the Rats connection by some and even of copying their act outright, especially lead singer Brian Devon, but these accusations was unfair.Berlin supported both The Clash and The Jam at the Top Hat in Dub Laoghaire, two legendary gigs in Dublin which thousands now claim to have attended. They were treated badly by roadies when supporting Graham Parker at the Olympic Ballroom, which resulted in some equipment damage. They turned down an offer from RSO Records and had two tracks ("Tube Talk" and "Waiting For The Future" slated for inclusion on the aborted/delayed Irish new wave comp which eventually became Just For Kicks in late 1979. During November-December 1978, Berlin and the New Versions set out on the "Streets Ahead Tour '78" across Ireland, the first new wave tour of the country. They appeared on Our Times on RTE TV at the end of the year.

Berlin played the Dandelion Market twice in 1979 and once in 1980: on 5 May 1979, 25 August 1979 and 2 February 1980. Most of 1979 was spent building momentum. They recorded demos which were aired by RTE Radio 2. They were courted by Charisma Records Dave Hitchcock as early as May and finally signed a deal with Charisma in September. The contract was for two singles and one album. The first single was announced for October but didn't come out until the following January 1980. Meanwhile their vinyl debut was on the "Just For Kicks" various artists LP released at the end of 1979, which included their track "Stop Stop", a strong effort. They played a farewell show at McGonagles on October 14, signalling their move to the UK. The band released their debut single January 1980, well after it's originally announced release date of October 1979. "Over 21" is a great pop punk track, though the band came in for some stick for being well over 21 themselves, especially Brian Devon and Maurice Czerniak. Both sides were written by bassist Maurice Czerniak. The Portugese issue appears to have predated the Irish & UK release by a few weeks. They performed the A-side (and, as far as I recall, another track) on Our Times on RTE Television, though I may be remembering the 1978 appearance. I vaguely recall Brian Devon holding up a sign saying "Hello Mum" or "Look Ma, I'm on TV". Does anyone have video of this? In February 1980 they embarked on a UK tour and appeared during the Sense of Ireland/Sounds of Ireland gigs in \ London in March 1980, playing Acklam Hall with U2 and the Virgin Prunes in support on the 19th (with at least one warm up gig in Nottingham a few days previous). When this failed to break the band, they split up, in April 1980.

Berlin reformed later in the year and released a second single in November 1980. "Boyfriend" appeared on Philips Records. It is a much weaker effort than their debut and sold poorly, which may explain why it is so hard to find now. It seems to have had very little distribution, unsurprising as the band split again soon after it's release. There are undoubtedly unreleased recordings (eg "Tube Talk"). Not to be confused with the Australian pop band on IRS Records who took your breath away. (Source: irishrock)

THE DIODES - s/t LP 1978

The first Canadian punk band signed to a major label, the Diodes are best-remembered for their moody, head-banging hit "Tired of Waking Up Tired" and their hard-hitting interpretation of the Paul Simon-penned tune "Red Rubber Ball." With vocalist Paul Robinson backed by guitarist John Catto, bassist Ian MacKay and drummers John Hamilton and, later, Mike Lengyell, the Toronto-based band roared with unabashed intensity. Signed by Columbia, the Diodes released their debut in 1978. Columbia released their second album, Released, on its Epic subsidiary two years later, but poor sales of both albums led the label to drop the band's contract. Although they relocated to England after releasing their third album, Action/Reaction, on the independent Orient label, the move came late to save the band. They disbanded shortly after, releasing an album of outtakes and demos, Survivors, in 1982. (Craig Harris) Twelve decent smasher waiting for you!

EXPLODING WHITE MICE - Fear (Late At Night) 7'' 1988

Exploding White Mice were a punk-rock band from Adelaide, Australia and were formed in the 80s. Their name was taken from a scene from the movie Rock'n'Roll High School, in which a laboratory mouse spontaneously explodes upon being exposed to the music of the Ramones, the band's foremost influence. Greasy Pop's superstars hit hard with another slab of inspired guitar ravaging obviously brought on by late nights listening to Road To Ruin. Lead singing Mouse Paul Gilchrist's singing is starting to get over the flatness he had on the first couple Mice records, and the blend of his vocals with the ever gutsy guitar and drums attack is starting to work real well. This is a group that is clearly started to develop a sense of power and they are a kicker!

V/A - Bad Teeth #1: U.K. & Irish Punk Bands 1977-1982

Last post today, and as you're used to in this theater, a great compilation created by Hyped To Death. A little introduction of the label from their page: "Rare, obscure, independent and undiscovered punk, post-punk, "D.I.Y." and Power Pop Groups from the US and UK 1977-1984. Hundreds and hundreds of bands dealing with compilations and dozens of releases of individual acts, all brilliantly restored on CD and custom CDRs. Plus tens of links and liner notes galore..." I think all their releases came out in limited editions and are not uninteresting for collectors. This one is my only copy, and try to find a disc by yourself is similar to finding the Holy Grail, almost impossible. The best way is to contact the label. Well, maybe more will follow or someone out there will send me some. Until then, enjoy it!

LOCKJAW - Journalist Jive EP 1978

Lockjaw were UK punx that originally consisted of: Bo Zo (vox), Micky Morbid (guitars), Andy Septic (bass) and Oddy Ordish (drums). Simon Gallup (later of The Cure) joined by the release of their second single. All tracks are great melodic punk songs, released for Raw Records. Formed out of the ashes of 'The Guernsey Flowers', then changing their name to 'The Amazing Doctor Octopuss' before settling on 'Lockjaw'. The first ever gig was under the name of 'The Guernsey Flowers' and it was at 'St Francis' Church Hall, Balcombe Road in Horley. In their two year existence, they recorded many tracks for 'Lee Wood's' Raw Records & managed to release two singles on his label. This is their 2nd and last one and it's a fine platter and I add the first Radio Call Sign 7Inch wthin.

ANGELIC UPSTARTS - Classics Live 1991

Everything is said about the Angelic Upstarts and all their records a brilliant. What we have here is an amazing piece with all their early hits and I don't know if this is an official album because originally released by Dojo Records in 1991 but that plays no minor role, this one is the Street Link release. Recorded live @ the Retford Porterhouse on 13. August 1982, Mensi & Co. celebrate excellent cross-section of their first three LP's and shows the band at their best after leaving EMI and just before they signed to Anagram. Strong sense of melody with a unique flair for catchy choruses, added to some of the angriest and most biting lyrics to be heard anywhere. Three or four years ago they had a gig here and they were fuckin' awesome and I'm glad to have at least once see them live. Almost thirty years after these recordings they lost none of their energy and intensity. Pure energy music from one of the UK's best punk bands, a significant record, Hello October!
