DIE WUT - Die Wut EP 1982

Gelsenkirchen, November 1980; the foundation of the occupation Stefan (vocals), Semmel (guitar), Eric (bass) and Pedro Cigar (drums), by Die Wut (not to be confused with the fury hardcores WUT from Langenfeld) was celebrated and on 24.04.1981 followed the first official gig with Upright Citizens at the Paul-Loebe-Haus in Gelsenkirchen. In late 1981 they recorded four dirty punkrock numbers for their debut EP which was then released in March 1982. And this record is pure energy punkrock which I love listen to: raw, wild, dirty & real. One year later the band broke up because of personal differences. 1999 reissue of the EP via Dirty Faces Records and the label sold 2000 copies in three days, while the band have sold in 1982/83 just 500 copies. 2007 the band is re-formed and the band played again several concerts with sensational feedback, so the mob demanded more and the band did them a favor and threw out an compilation called The Early Years 1981-1982 with rare demos & live material, a nice gesture I think. For 2019 a world tour with the Scorpions and the Rolling Stones is planned, so order tickets quickly.

V/A - Something Is Wrong 1989

Another sampler which I hereby want to put again into your hearts is this rare one with bands from Europe, most coming from Germany. Kina, Wut and L.U.L.L. are bands you might know and most of all tracks have been published only here. Musically, like the album title suggests, a good mix between Hardcore & Punk as you would expect from these bands, lyrically most songs handle about on violence against women which is usually a taboo topic and in my opinion is condemned much too flaccid, also suitable for this purpose the great cover artwork. Even though this compilation is not among to the top publications, but the record is still very successful and receives my highest rating.

1.Krieg Gegen Frauen - WUT
2.My Best Friend - TOSHIMOTO DOLLS
3.Troppo Lontano - KINA
4.For You - L.U.L.L.
5.Friend, Keep On - SCHWARZE FEUER
6.Brutal Scenes... - ANTI-TOXIN
7.Nicaracoca-Cola - HALLE 54
8.Fly Or Die - DUNKLE TAGE
9.Eigene Hölle - WUT
10.Vacilando - TOSHIMOTO DOLLS
11.E Intanto - KINA
12.Heaven Is Grey - SCHWARZE FEUER

ROTTING CARCASS & WUT - Split EP 1985

Brilliant split 12'' by two great bands on More Fun Records in yellow multicoloured vinyl. First Wut with their "Alles Schon Mal Gesehen-Alles Schon Mal Gehört!" side and all five songs are among the best, what the band, Schetty (vocals), Olli (guitars), Holger (bass) & Jörg (drums), ever recorded: angry, aggressive, energetic and bombastic noises in a perfect fat soundNothing is missing, top grade! The dance continue by "...Their Last Testament", the Rotting Carcass side, a four piece which were formed 1982 in Kempten by Batz & Hesse (vocals/bass), Tommy (guitars), Kurty (drums) and after a successful tour with the Toy Dolls in 1985 they parted ways. Their five songs are pure pogosmasher, wild and snotty, catchy and easy flammable. In 1995, Six Pack Records brought their complete 1984 studio session on vinyl, partly hand-numbered editions. Great record by two bands who speaks an offensive language.

WUT - Kapitalismus 1986

Awesome Killer Stuff now by this great band from Langenfeld. WUT were founded in 1983 by Schetty (vocals), Holger (bass), Oli (guitars) & Jörg (drums) and their first release came two years later in form of a split EP "Their Last Testament/Everything Ever Seen - Everything Ever Heard!" with Rotting Carcass on More Fun Records and also in 1985 their only album Kapitalismus via Double A, 1990 another split 12'' with Sons Of Sadism, also Double A Records. I quote the band from the insert:

"We are four individuals who've come together about 2½ years ago to express our attitude to life through music. However, we do not understand music as an end in itself, but as a step out of our own impotence, the powerlessness that we experience every day when we look at the state of this world.

Our system is based on the exploitation of the masses, the developing countries and nature. It relies on brainwashing in schools, psychiatry, factories, barracks, and in the media, where it sells consumer goods as a substitute for interpersonal relationships, living off alienation from one another. It educates people to selfish money-hungry intolerant dependent self-employed labor-bearing and consuming machines. This is the world of gross national product, the 5-year plan, the suicide rate ...

The music creates a free space, a medium through which we can express our thoughts and feelings. On the other hand, it's just fun for us, a fun that gives us more than the full of fun, aggression and walls of coolness marked 'fun' of the well-known 'jokers' at countless concerts, meetings and other places.

Through the band, we also got to know people we might never have met otherwise, people who make us rich with a lot of positive experiences and the confirmation to do something useful. The people we have known for some time, who have experienced our way and whom we love! And all those we do not know, but who may be on the same path as us, we dedicate this album! Love & Strength to those who resist.

There are days when people question all the beautiful ideals that they laboriously built up, because the feeling is quickly spreading that nothing will change anyway, especially when sees that unconditional adaptation to this power money-driven society is rewarded by a secure content (??) existence, as long as man does not come up with the idea to ask the meaning of such an existence. We can not let ourselves be lulled by the ignorance of the masses who are only interested in their beer supply, their new car and the length of their cocks. Keep your own head and live your life!"

V/A - Fun's Not Dead 1985

Inspired by Nolti's birthday repetition, which is full of numerous D-Punk classics and songs I haven't heard for a long time, I thought I rummage on my hard drive and check out what's elegant there. The result is this decent compilation by More Fun Records with fine and exclusive pieces by eight bands which made their vinyl debut in the mid-eighties. The selection is quite convincing and for me it belongs to one of the positive apparitions in this sector. Came partly in colored vinyl and detailed inserts which are unfortunately not available here, maybe someone has useful scans for me. The slab became a victim of my lack of solvency at that time and that is of course annoying. Egal, sometime is Schulz anyway. If you like these bands take a look around the blog, you'll find more stuff for sure. Now I'm chilling a little and I'm hot for the match against Cologne later. Prost!

3.Mord Und Totschlag - ROTTING CARCASS

SONS OF SADISM - Play Loud! EP 1985

Strange... but that's how it is written "S.O.S. were one of the first Skate-Punk influenced bands in Germany" and if this fits I don't know because I'm not a profi in terms Skate Punk and I can't open a drawer, so what the hell is skate punk? "I skate and listen to punk? I skate and wear skater clothes? I drink sprudel and I look shitty?" Fact is: Sons Of Sadism came from the Ruhr area and were damn cool Punx, active in the 80's and band members were: Jescho (vocals & drums), Helge (bass), Björn (guitar) & Tommy (vocals & drums). They released their olny EP "Play Loud!" on Double A Records in 1985, some in red & multicolored vinyl, and 1990 a split compilation with WUT (1000 copies) with all their studio recordings and a nice bandhistory (unfortunately, this album had to be sacrificed due to various money problems). Anyway, if you satisfied with this slab & you want them a-live, move over to tape attack and listen to a gig from 23.02.1985.

V/A - Going Nowhere Slow 1990

Another pearl is this international punk compilation. Released on the legendary german punk label Double A Records in 1990, the vinyl is marble red & yellow transparent and the bands on it are all incredible. Reiner uses his contacts to invite the bands to be part of this comp and this is one I can listen to everytime. Never boring spray all 17 songs an amazing power to me immediately straight into my heart. The successful mix of hardcore & melodic punk rock shows how many great bands were alive around the world. That's why I love such platters like these and I enjoy to listen to again & again. I think, this is the meaning of compilations at all. So if you love a varied sound grap fast and shake your ass.
