V/A - Halt! 2023

All right! Now, after a long time, one more selfmade Compilation is coming and there are songs on a certain topic that I don't usually do, but this time it was a need for me and it's quite possible that a second one will follow. It's about society & people, and I took thirty-seven killers which I like and think, they're fit. This manipulated society that is trapped in those systems and marches along tightly without following their own emotions and demands, that others hate because of a pimple on their forehead and let themselves be fooled every day and are numbed by the guidelines that are presented to them. Frightening & Incomprehensible this mass social control... I'm so sick of them! Certainly not just here but everywhere and I guess you know what I'm talking about, you see it every day. Anyway, this is my small contribution from the WDM Records headquarters with a lot of help by friends. Enjoy!

V/A - Du Redest Zuviel...

It took a long time, but now it's finished: Part X of the small WDM Records series with rare German underground, already finished in December 2021, but the artwork took some time, because it should be chic and appealing, and that's very well done in my opinion as you can see (I'll send out a brainless greeting right away). First of all, my respectful thanks to Mr. Reinhard, my Ösi-Connection, who has been providing me with first-class material for many, many years and never tires of continuing to do so. All these compilations would not be possible without him, thanks for that my friend and at some point we drink several pints together. Part X is again full of rare stuff from all genres of German subculture and impresses with its variety and extravagance of bands that made it to a 7Inch here and there, or just released only a demo or compilation track. Rock, Punk, New Wave, everything at the start and from the multitude of pieces I have put together twenty-nine nuggets that are essential, undiscovered and want to be heard. I'm sure you'll enjoy the selection and Part XI will be worth the wait (previous parts should be online, you have just to find them), and this one will come in autumn 2022. As always, feedback from you is welcome and I hope you have something in your pan, otherwise enjoy the following 78 minutes of spicy delicacies that make life shine brighter like a summer day. And now I'm going fucking.

V/A - Skloom Al Komul! 2021

Well, as you can see, my old schoolmate Teddy is more than happy with his new girlfriend and he asked me to put some of his favorite songs together and share them with you. Of course, I would like to comply his request, even if I hardly find time and my computer soon crackes off, I have taken the trouble to create the following compilation from the extensive repertoire of his hard drive and now finally present it as the ninth release on WDM RecordsHe chose a healthy mix of old and new classics and I am very satisfied with his selection. I'm responsible for the artwork, which I think is excellent, and all this together makes this little musical composition another highlight on this damn uninteresting Blog. Wherever you are now, enjoy the days off, make the most of it and always remember, You're Not Alone!

V/A - Planet Punk #3 2004

Planet Punk is/was another serie of selfmade compilations/revival from Chuck Warner’s Hyped2Death efforts, and before your requests for Volume 1 + 2 come, these are not available. The first appearances of this homework label in this theater have already been made through the Bad Teeth series and H2D is focused on early KBD slabs, sometimes worldwide, sometimes country-specific, and this Fucker is dedicated to rare European stuff. The exact year of publication is given by me, because I believe that it must have been generated at this time, of course I can be wrong, but that doesn't really matter, it is important that they exist and that people like Chuck make such treasures tangible and unforgettable, I am like him and as a regular reader of this blog you already got to know some nuggets from WDM RecordsWell, you can listen to thirty decent cool songs, most of them already on vinyl (click on the top left), but this compilation is just this kind of work that was cobbled with passion, a lot of time, heart & soul and deserves your respect and attention. Enjoy the delicate tones and Volume #4 is coming soon.

2.Accident - STARSHOOTER

V/A - Never Mind Covid-19 2020

Prost!

WDM Records is back, a new compilation with rare undiscovered German underground has slipped and Part X found its way into my hut about two weeks ago and therefore didn't sleep long on the hard drive. With almost fifty songs, I put together a decent selection on a long Sunday which is very cool, visually & acoustically. I would like to avoid thx at this point, they are honored in the booklet, apart from that, they are the usual suspects anyway. Album title & cover are from Mr. Reinhard, that should be mentioned, and the rest grew on my dung. Musically again a healthy mixture of wave, punk, rock and a few speedys, drawn from various singles & compilation records. # 008 without live recordings is also rarely occurs. Praise or criticism are desirable as always and now, cozy listening pleasure with this little ode to joy. Cheers!

THE FEATURES - Floozie Of The Neighborhood 7'' 1979

This weekend I'm busy with lots of new music and look forward to a new WDM compilation soon but now a quick post of a brilliant 7Inch and the corresponding info from someone who knows how to review: "First as five piece founded as the Fingers in Pittsburgh early 1977, they packing up their instruments and professional aspirations and leaving two Fingers behind, three members (two of them brothers) headed to New York City in September of that year, and released their first EP Isolation on Paradox Records with three nice goodies and then they transformed into the Features. Take three Fingers, add the manager, and a wardrobe change and you have the Features whose Floozie Of The Neighborhood 7Inch is a pop-punk classic while the flip's a fantastic Beatles (I love their records) cover. Modern day punk throwbacks, the Stitches, cover "Floozie" in fine fashion. Considering the chances of finding the original are slim-to-none, vinyl hounds should seek out the No One Left To Blame compilation (coming soon) which includes "Isolation" or, for the less discerning and more desperate, the Features/Fingers album released on Italy's Rave-Up label in 2000." V/A - Jetzt Oder Nie! 2020

Welcome to a new compilation from WDM Records, and #007 is once again excellently equipped with rare German underground from 1979 - 1986, the data was undetected on a USB stick that I accidentally reactivated and all of this was sent to me X-Mas 2017 by Mr.Reinhard. In itself, I immediately listen to it because I know it is always excellent material, but here it was somehow different. Well, now here; Part VIII again full to the brim with a colorful palette with pop, rock, punk & new wave goodies from various singles, demos, sampler contributions & live pieces that hardly anyone knows, including myself. The title is nothing special, no other came to me and so it just became the opener and I like strawberries, so the cover has become a contemporary unspectacular one (the arm is doing better now). Enough words, suck the file in and praise or criticism is desirable. Part IX will be definitely different, I promise.

V/A - A Small Retrosperspective (Live!) 2019

A new product from WDM Records and because April is dedicated to Live posts grew the idea of a superb compilation with recordings that I found here and there or slumbered on my hard disk. Preferably with bands that I have partially experienced and I often put on my turntable. I think the result can be heard and seen, and especially the artwork of old tickets has been buzzing in my mind for a long time, it has brought back a lot of fantastic memories, it was nice! PANIKRAUM - @ Waggon, Offenbach 09.09.2017

Now it's time for live stuff on WDM Records and in September 2017 Panikraum were guests at the best location in the Rhine-Main area called Waggon. Panikraum are Alexander (vocals & guitar), Markus (guitar), Jasper (bass) and Nico (drums) and were founded in Mönchengladbach. "We make music, a little punk, a little rock, a little wave. Lyrically emotional and personal, but also political. A mixture of its own kind." After a nice demo they released their debut Kopkino in 2017 on Major Label (order) with fourteen fantastic emotional goodies and since I love the bands in which some of the gentlemen are also musically active it was a must to cycle to Offenbach and as always, it was an extraordinary experience and a fantastic evening. The recording is quite brilliant and if you wanne get in touch with the band join Facebook and bring them to your city. Thank you for the little break from everyday life!

G.B.H - City Baby Attacked By Rats 1982

Oh Yeah, we come to fast aggressive straight up punk and heavy guitar riffs by Birmingham's finest: G.B.H with their first full length on Clay Records and after almost forty years still a highlight in punk historyWhat should I tell you more? Music that clears your mind, so full of energy and dynamic, a sound that shuts out all your worries and you get the feeling that everything is possible! I want to quote a final review which I can only underline and the rest info can be found on sputnikmusic. "G.B.H's debut album, City Baby Attacked By Rats is an important album for the hardcore punk genre. The album remains a standout and is essential in the band's big discography. Even though albums like these aren't known for their diversity; it is the really the only major con. I would recommend picking up or at least give a listen to this if you are a fan of classic punk music, hardcore, even metal or just punk in general. This would also be a good album to start if you are new to the band." Enough for today, WDM has to rest.

TRIO - Anna 7'' 1982

Next stop in our Soundbox is a band which come direct from heaven and I remember those three buddies very well and when I first listen to this song I thought to myself: Was ein Brett! Trio was formed in a small German town called Großenkneten/Ostfriesland 1980 and they are most noted for the song "Da da da..." which was a hit in thirty countries worldwide. But Trio was more than this. Their simple songs are more punk and (would they released their records on a small label, these would big rarities nowadays) their partially humorous lyrics the media labeled them as NDW and sure they made music that time but I mean they a far far away from all those numerous stupid records and I think that's the problem with the shitty majors. Anyway, two great songs with a rare live one on the B-side. New rip/scans in usual WDM quality. So far so good, rainy today and I have a ticket for the soccer game versus Leverkusen...

V/A - Z Siege EP 1987

A record that was eternally waiting to be digitized is the following little notable complation that came out on Bunker Music and today it is done. Four great speedys: Cólera kick off with an untypical Brazilian one, a solid mid-tempo number with excellent lyrics, we know aggressive tones from the boys, Dunkle Tage from Göttingen with a live track, very dynamic and fast but I can't still warm with them, not my case. WDM from Finland is rather my taste, uncompromising Hardcorepunk with fat sound and an exclusive track, not on their 7Inches include. Rounded off by the Bingener metalpunk combo Circle Of Sig-Tiü which tell us what they think about Germany, a real blast and I can only agree with them, thirty years later and nothing has changed, aahhh.. I love their dirty rough sound. They made three good records and came to an end in 1988. Now one more Jever and ripping another slab and you grab this first-class EP before the sun goes down.

1.Somos Vivos - CÓLERA
2.Nehmt Euer - DUNKLE TAGE
3.The Key - WDM
4.Third Reich In Disguise - CIRCLE OF SIG-TIÜ

SYDKRAFT - Surfway 7'' 1978

This 7inch was released by a major label called EMI (Pfftttt...) and that's amazing because searchin' the net I find nothing (Also in the Encyclopedia of Swedish Punk they are mentioned only in passing). Sydkraft were from Halmstad and they released two 7inches and one full length and here ends my info. Musically they play a decent PowerPop sound with organ and a punky background. The title track is a nice surf tune and brings the sun in your house. The flip is sung in Swedish and is for me the winner and I would choose it if I release some day a KBD compilation on WDM Records. Donations for this are welcome. Let's enjoy this rare 7'' with two awesome kicks and they belong in any decent punk household!

V/A - Nobody's Perfect EP 1986

One more rare record from my Wanted-List now. The first issue was released as Lasta-EP II by ST-Records in 1984 with different artwork and this here two years later on Leukemia Records. Musically, we are in Europe (except Bill Of Rights) and approaching a slightly aggressive sound that we all know as punkrock. I think the band names speak for themselves and every song is a typical representative of this genre: loud + rough + snappy! Each band puke in their natural language which I always enjoy, even if I don't understand a word. Four mid-tempo goodies and three short rapid heart attacks, what you want more? Probably appeared in small editions and hard to find... pull now!

1.I Miei Occhi - STIGMATHE
2.The Frontline - ZERO POINT
3.Efialtis - ADIEXODO
4.Paranoja - OPDAKI CIVILIZACIJE
5.Ekki En - PURRKUR PILLNIKK
6.C-9 - THE BILL OF RIGHTS
7.War Is Here - W.D.M.

V/A - There Is No Reason To Be Happy EP 1989

A pretty gem of sophisticated punkrock music from Europe is this little piece of plastic. I purchased this EP at a concert in Hamburg, a local club named 'Marquee' anno 1989 and I think I did it because of the cool cover, the bands at that time told me nothing. And sometimes that's not a bad reason. 4 bands/6 songs and all of them small works of art. Very impressive are the Yugoslavian parts, three short & aggressive firecrackers with a singer who has made the right decision for himself. This is a punkrock voice and I can not imagine him as a seller of shoes, hahaha...but also convince the other bands here with their songs. A small varied piece of 100% punkrock which hits the nail on the head, 500 copies on Artcore Records.

1.My Life - W.D.M.
2.Sto Stopnic - 3.KATEGORIJA
3.Brŝljan - 3.KATEGORIJA
4.Alkoholna - 3.KATEGORIJA

6.Fuggi Fuggi - I REFUSE IT
