BULLDOZER - L'Enclume Des Jours 7'' 1977

Last one in June and we visit Paris and meet Bulldozer, a French punk band that formed in the late 1970s. Created by Gérard Pisani (vocals and former member of Martin Circus from 1969 to 1972), Paul-Jean Borowsky (guitars), Bob Brault (bass) and René Moulinot (drums) and they distinguished from the punk movement of the time with catchy melodies and satyric lyrics highlighted by the voice of Gérard. This is their first 7Inch on RCA and both songs are ok. The a-side is a solid mid-tempo punk'n'roller while the flip, Corned Beef (great title), is a five minute schunkel stomper. Bulldozer on many samplers represented, check them on discogs and find the interesting ones. Need more beer + I'm back soon.

MKK - Was Ist Denn Los Mit Mir 1982

MKK (Middle Catastrophe Combo) is a band which was founded in Berlin by seasoned studio musicians and singer Thomas' Crümel "Pliveritz who died much too young. This is their only album and was released by Toledo Records. Musically they play pretty pop music with lots of keyboards and very melodic harmonies. Awesome the title track 'What's Wrong With Me' and the ballad 'Every Way, Every Street'. Lyrically the band spread socially critical texts that differ from the usual NDW bands. That's reason for me to call MKK not a Neue Deutsche Welle band, just more punk and Thomas's rough vocals gave all the ten songs additional hardness and make this album never boring. If you like all the early PowerPop stuff then lend your ears to the MKK sound. You will not be disappointed.

DE CLASS - En Bomb EP 1983

Stockholm, Sweden's capital city and a mecca for many great punk bands of the early days. De Class confirms this once more with their only release on Slant von Pluring Records. All four tracks are great and they play a cool '77 punk sound mixed with a little dose of powerpop and delicate keyboards. This rare EP is a class of its own and let your ears bleed. About the band there is not much to say, short-lived and collectors pay a lot of money for their EP, unfortunately not to them, so today all four members housed in decent jobs and thus feed their many children and buy cosmetics for women. Playin' the lottery helps not and so life goes on. The weather today is sunny and I have no beer or other stuff. So that's why I need music to get back in good mood. Maybe I rip one or two LP's or watchin' soccer, mal sehen. So let's start download this little piece of history.

VOODOO LOVECATS - Thats What I Believe EP 1997

Combining facets of glam and punk rock, and mixing them with a horror-based image, that's the Voodoo Lovecats, originally formed back 1994 in Melbourne, they threw out a few demos, smashed a few stages, then launched their debut CD Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (Horror Show Records) in 1997. The band followed up with a split CD El Noche De El Siniestro Vudu in 1998 and toured extensively (supporting international bands like The Misfits in '97, Suicidal Tendencies, etc..) around Australia. A few lineup changes in 1998 caused the band to take a "break", which turned into a longer-than-expected hiatus. Sicboy (vocals), Ruin (lead guitar), and Creep (drums) have rehearsed and are working towards recording some classic VLC tunes (that never made it into the studio) for their fans but they are reformed now. A short review here: "...they are a fantastic ROCK unit, the kind that actually gets you excited about things again, then the joke's all on you. Maybe I'll eat my words on all of this...but for now, at this moment in time, the Voodoo Lovecats are the best thing I've seen in a dog's age..." Year Zero/Resistant Harmony Review, 1997.

SAMHAIN - Unholy Passion 12'' 1985

Actually, I wanted to post a compilation but now this music is running and that kicks. Samhain was formed by Mr. Danzig in 1983, immediately following his departure from the MisfitsEnough words in the net and this 12'' on Plan 9, their second release, is for me the best record.

V/A - Death Pays All Debts [Tape] 1988

One last post today and first it's not my rip but I've improved the quality a bit and delete the quite passages between the songs, now it's a 1A thing. But the reason for me to present it here again is easy: I love New Zealand stuff and this tape is full with great Bands/Songs. For example Boner, their music is so great and they never made a record, a real shame in my opinion, Armatrak is just as fantastic and they made a few 7Inches and have a song on the extra album of Life Is A Joke #2 by Weird System. Compos Mentis and Casualty made also some 7Inches and the rest only on tape. I recommend a visit to Stig's Mad Blast Of Chaos blog and grab the two Rising From Ashes tapes. Oha, it goes dark outside, cloudburst? Have a pleasant Sunday with this tape from Battery Hen Cassettes and I hope anyone sends finally the NZ stuff from the Wanted List.

1.Closet - BONER
2.Liz's Mistake - STENCH OF THE WOUNDED
3.No Wars - WORLD WAR 3
4.Pox Ridden - CASUALTY
5.Of Sound Mind - COMPOS MENTIS
6.Radio - BONER
7.Concret Incased Life - STENCH OF THE WOUNDED
8.Money Farm - ARMATRAK
9.I'll Never Change - CASUALTY
10.N.Z. Is A Joke - WORLD WAR 3
11.No One Cares - WORLD WAR 3
12.No Escape - ARMATRAK
13.Blind Ambition - CASUALTY
14.Dirty Old Len - BONER
15.Join The Civies - STENCH OF THE WOUNDED
16.Song For -10 - COMPOS MENTIS
17.Fascist Fashion - ARMATRAK
18.Babies - BONER
19.Forest Fire - STENCH OF THE WOUNDED

KRAFT DURCH FREUDE - Wir Bleiben Kameraden 1979

This is a quick re-post, first posted 2011 via the unfortunately no longer active Girls From Tahiti blog. I remember, I posted their 7Inch 'I've Got A Whole Lotta Love' on DU [Via, your work ;) ] many days ago and I was searchin' for this record a long time and the wait had finally ended six years ago. Kraft Durch Freude were a short-lived punk powerpop combo from Zurich and founded by Rudolph Dietrich (vocals+guitar), Heinrich (bass) and Schlatter (drums). This 12'' is their debut record and released via Off Course Records, the Swiss label par excellence, which publishing extremely cool records by top bands and nowadays very rare and most wanted. Seven melodic goodies on Kameraden, excellent starting the day with an extensive breakfast in bed. Compilation featuring the band: Definitiv Zurich and Swiss Wave. After the single the band broke up and continued to make music in other, not unknown bands. For all German-speaking readers I recommend this site with a report about the Swiss scene of the 80s.

RAW POWER - Wop Hour EP 1985

Let's start this cloudy Sunday with one of the bands that immediately impressed me: Raw Power from Poviglio/Reggio Emilia. Formed 1981 by brothers Mauro (vocals) and Giuseppe Codeluppi (guitar). With Davide (guitar), Maurizio (bass) and Fabiano (drums) they recorded 1983 their first tape and this excited attention and they were represented on some famous compilations. In 1984 the debut 'You Are The Victim' was released via Meccano Records and is in my opinion one of the best Hardcore records everSo they were finally established world-wide, especially in the States they toured with renowned bands and also in Europe they were valued. Several line up changes, a further series of compilations and lots of albums come out. On 6. October 2002 Guiseppe died unexpectedly and Raw Power at first stopped playing and then decided to continue (another member Luca Carpi died two years later, aged only 34). Raw Power are always a great pleasure for me, especially live and listen here for more stuff and be thankful to the longest-running band in history of Italian hardcore punk. This EP is the re-release with five tracks on Westworld. Fuck Authority, Grazie!

COMBAT 84 - Tooled Up EP 2009

Now a band which provided for a lot jabbering in the press although in my opinion they made clear that they are no fascists: Combat 84 was founded in London by Chris (vocals), 'Deptford' John (bass), Jim (guitar) and Brownie (drums) and a contract with Secret Records was within reach but didn't come because Chris probably gave some racist utterances, which I do not know exactly, but today as then, the masses are quick to interpret it as they want. So the band sign to Victory Records and 1982 their first EP 'Orders Of The Day' came out. 'Rapist' followed a year later and the German label Rock-O-Rama released in 1984 the full-length 'Send In The Maines', today a rare and coveted collector's item (the record was disowned by the band, which split up soon after), I sold mine. Years with bans from clubs and nervous interviews brought the guys almost at the edge of sanity but they don't give up and in 2000 they are back with five new tracks, first as CD then 2009 as vinyl on their own label 7th Cavalry Records released. I mean, Combat 84 are one of the few Oi! bands who know what they want and say what they feel, freedom of speech is as important as respect. Chris died on 31. October 2013 after a long period of deteriorating health. So in this file are all their three 7Inches, Cheers!

SIDESHOW BOB - The Cat In The Hat EP 1997

From California comes this awesome Punkrock band and I have to confess they are completely unknown to me: TILL NOW!! Nowadays we can get lots of infos about every shit (scandal/war/castration, etc...) via internet, but such great little bands like we have here, I find nothing. Well, that's just it and that is why I write these lines. This record was released in edition of 313 copies by Shady Troll Records, the home of the best D.I.Y. punk rock out there! And on it four cracker which fucks your brain out and you want a guitar to strain any amp. They're rough, dirty, funny and hot as hell. Incredible!!!

YPÖ-VIIS - Karhulan Poikii/Koko Stoori 2002

Again visiting Finland and stop in Karhula, home of Ypö-Viis. I wrote much info in their Hyvästi 7'' post and I know the download link is expired but don't worry, on this compilation from Poko Records are all their studio + live recordings (1979-1980) they ever released. In whole thirty-five melodic polar lights and the detailed booklet tells you when and where the originals appeared. Confed Cup runs well for the German team, weather is great and I need a little oxygen and enjoy myself on the Main to calm down a little bit. I wish you all an exciting weekend with lots of music, beer and fun!

CHELSEA - We Dare EP 1994

One of the 'oldest' UK punk bands are Chelsea from London and their story starts in 1976 and more than two decades after its release, "Right To Work", Chelsea's debut single, is included in Mojo Magazine's list of the best punk rock singles of all time. So you can search for more info about the band the web and for more music move over to the great F.P.F.T.P. blog and choose your favorite record from the generous offer. On this nice 7Inch, released via the German Weser Label, are three hymns. We Dare is sung in German with text translation while the flip comes with two live goodies, recorded at their German tour September/October 1994. A brilliant idea I find.

- Huge Thx to Fredrik -

X-BELIEBIG - Leben Ist Blut 7'' 1982

Started 1980 in Vienna, X-Beliebig based primarily on German Punk, although none of them felt as a punk. After months of rehearsals, followed later that year the first performance at the Wiener Neustadt Snack Bar, followed by numerous gigs which organized by the band themselves and in summer they released their first 7'' on Panza-Platte, "Leben Ist Blut" become a hit at the U4. Founding member Franz then left the band and was replaced by Zoltán and they moved away from punk and turned more towards to Wave (inspired by bands such as Joy Division). Shortly they released a mini-LP which is hardly known today and extremely difficult to find. After a gig in Innsbruck the band disbanded in 1983. Visit the Austro-Rock-Lexikon blog for more secrets and catch this rare copy yet!

WORKMATES - Live In Berlin EP 1980

Not much known about this five piece from Amsterdam. Only this record from Kreuzhammer with five cool punkies. Remarkable women and man singing, ergo two singers plus the amazingly good recording quality. Berna Bermate & Harry Storemate (vox), Martin (guitar), Hermann (bass) and Herman (drums). That's it!

MARY MONDAY & THE BITCHES - I Gave My Punk Jacket To Rickie 7'' 1977

This record is one of the best punk 7'' in my opinion and was released on Malicious Productions. I know this one's is posted in many blogs so Fredrik sent me his copy and I have no other choice to present this sucker again. Lner notes I found and I say thx for this to -k-: "Mary Monday & The Bitches with their sole release is a ‘77 favorite - John Peel even said so - that tends to get overlooked in the heaps of punk records that were coming out at the end of the 70s. Both sides are poppy, kinda sloppy, and (most importantly) just downright fun. The b-side, is also a total rocker complete with manic, burning guitar. The single leaves you wanting more, but unfortunately, like so many others, the band left us with this great piece of wax and then disappeared into thin air. The band’s story seems to be shrouded in mystery, but according to several sources Mary Monday and the Bitches were five band members that got together in 1977 from California. Riding the invigorating punk wave, the back of their single was held together by safety pins in accordance with the “punk” fashion trend that was becoming increasingly common. Mary’s backing band were apparently a San Francisco bar band known as the Street Punks who had disbanded before the decade’s end. After “I Gave My Punk Jacket To Rickie”, it’s difficult to track down where SF scene queen Mary Monday went for certain, but some have claimed she assumed another pseudonym (Vermillion Sands) and wrote for the fanzine Search & Destroy, as well as continuing within the punk scene and participating in other musical endeavors for an indeterminate amount of time. Anyway, this single’s a favorite and “Punk Jacket” was also included on the great My Girlfriend Was A Punk! compilation, which collects early punk bands from all over the world."

COPY CATS - Fuck You If You Don't Like It! EP 1998

Debut record by Frankfurt's Copy Cats and I'm too lazy to write but I found two reviews which brings it to the point: "Took a long time until the thing was done but the result can be seen and heard above all. Three snotty Punk'n'Roll numbers (two covers by Chesterfield Kings and Nomads plus a separate song that I like the best by far), which occur well ass and apparently some people also stimulate other body regions. Swen by Plastic Bomb has chosen this drive to his favorite masturbate. This is very commendable, and we support such a thing only too happy to print especially for him by a pin-up photo of the singer Silke. Who does not own this music, which was hastily send ten dollars to the address above, because it certainly does not take long to get this thing can only buy at exorbitant prices in sleazy sex shops". (Köing Chauki, Gerda No.2 1998, Frankfurt) - "This is one of my favorite bands right now. Great garage rock with sleezy girl group vocal action. ShangriLa/Runaways fans, this is gonna get ya shakin’ Hot Nomads cover!" (Jeff Dahl, Sonic Iguana, 1999) - Their second 7Inch (Better Be Good) is with it and should you love their sound you need the Vampirella 10'' as well.

SENSUURI - Hulinaa 1979

Sensuuri was founded 1978 by young and prospective musicians Pepe (voice) and Costello (guitars), completed with Jaska (bass) and Pasi (drums). In fall 1978 Epe Helenius happended to see them play live in Safety Pins Club, and he immediately offered them a chance to record a single for Poko Rekords. A year later their first 7Inch 'Kirjoitan Seinään' was released and was surprisingly very well received and of course, an album had to be followed which was finally implemented shortly afterwards. The band started practising new material and Hulinaa was released in summer 1979. It followed a couple of 7Inchers and songs on various compilations (Hilse) and in 1980 after recording a song for the 'Hellää Terroria Korville' EP, in the intention to promote a fortcoming second album Jaska and Pepe left the band and Sensuuri was buried. A CD with all their studio works comes 1996 via Kråklund Records out. Now enjoy twelve nuggets early Finnish punkrock.

INCONTROLLADOS - Hvem Vil Det Gavne? EP 2001

The now defunct Incontrollados started out as a two-piece from Svendborg in 1999. After playing a few shows Lasse was recruited to sing and soon after recording the first demo-tape and releasing a couple of songs on the SPAND BZ compilation, Johan O.D. followed to complete the line-up. In 2001 the 2nd demo-tape was recorded and the band made a deal for a 7" with Kick'n' Punch Records. After returning, the band continued gigging, rehearsing and writing some of their best songs. But people were breaking their backs on the band and everything collapsed during a show in Odense where the bandmembers got in a fight between eachother on stage. The band left stage and broke up right after. This EP contains eight short leckmichamarschgoodies and gotta kick your ass.

AUS 98 - Alles Fällt 7'' 1983

This rare 7Inch was released via Ausklang Records and is the only record by AUS 98, the predecessor of Circle of Sig-Tiü with two great songs, both were later new recorded for the Feuer+Asche album in 1985. The a-side is a typical fast track as the band are known for while the flip is a gloomy five minute number, suitable for funerals or similar occasions, very cryptic. Anyway, a cool record and really timeless.

THE FLYIN' SPIDERZ - s/t LP 1977

Eindhoven formation begins in 1976 as rhythm & blues band, closely related to the British pubrock. In 1977 the group switching to punk. The Flyin' Spiderz is the first Dutch punk band that appears on plate. In the early days the band is affiliated with the Dynamite label and booking agency of the European independent pioneer Pieter Meulenbroek (Sky Dog). The single 'Down', with a cover design by Joost Swarte, is never released. The group plays in 1977 as opening for The Damned in Paradiso. Sky Dog goes over the head and the band gets offered a contract with EMI. The debut album contains aggressive rock & roll, which is more like the music of pre-punk band as Count Bishops than that of the Pistols or The Damned. The Spiderz touring extensively throughout the country and arouse their energetic show and punk image especially in rural bewildered and sometimes aggressive responses.

1978 the second album 'Let It Crawl' came out and goes more into rock. From the moment bassist Van Vugt is replaced by Jan Snep, remains messing around this time equivalent. One year later a third album called 'Birthday' was planned but was not released because EMI terminates the contract. Roadie Bart Brouwer joins as a keyboard player in the band, which moves the band into a more melodic. The band recently called in to The Spiderz and brings the 'Pressure' album out on WEA.

The fourth record 'Lines Of Lust' goes towards new wave. The group is expanding its field successfully to France, including appearances on TV, in Gribus Club in Paris and at the Festival of Montreux (July 13th). In England, the group in the schedule during the British tour of Iggy Pop. The British bassist Walter Langdon replaces John Snep. A new mix of I'm Yours Tonight appears on single with a guest role on keys Manfred Man.

After releasing the 7inch 'The Test' in 1981 the band broke up.

So this debut album was released in 1977 and is the first Punk LP by a Dutch Band and it's pretty fantastic. It's apparent in the music that this was a pub rock band that adapted quickly to the new punk sound spreading it's filth across Europe. "These four erratic Dutchmen, led by rhythm guitarist/singer/songwriter Guus Boers, put forth solid, Stonesy punk just a hair better than a hundred others of like mind, threatening to turn derivation to their advantage but never quite succeeding. Neither album shows more than fleeting signs of excitement, and neither has better than perfunctory production." Check more Spiderz on the Killed By Death #F.U.2 and Killed By Epitaph or other essential compilations.

Thirty degrees today and after three coffee I'm still not fit, maybe a Jever helps. Do something beautiful wherever you are, Aloha!

OBERKAMPF - Couleurs Sur Paris 1981

Let's wring the neck of french Rock'N'Roll with Oberkampf from Paris. Formed 1978 by Pat Kebra (guitar), Joe Hell (vocals), Buck-Dali (bass) and Dominik Descoubes (drums). After the first single release Couleurs Sur Paris in February 1981 Oberkampf signed a record contract with Musidisc Records, where the first album P.L.C. (Plein Les Couilles) was published in 1982, followed by Cris Sans Thèmes in 1985, shortly before their provisional dissolution. In 2000 the band founded again and recorded the 2003 album Animal Factory. The band is known for its anti-nationalist attitude, which included the fact that the band burned the French flag during a live performance and that their song La Marseillaise was accompanied by pig grunts, as did their call for resistance against state institutions in Couleurs Sur Paris. In this file you will find the Seule La Musique A Le Droit D'être Meurtrière compilation published by Remedy with twenty damn great biscuits, a grandiose cross section of their sound.

SIEGER 1957 - Regen Über Tokio EP 1982

The releases from the Bremen based label Heimat Records are always interesting. Musically, they move between early German Punk, NDW or experimental stuff and sure some redundant records including. I like the label because they set not specifically in one direction such as AGR or Weird System did, rather they gave bands from Bremen and surrounding areas the chance to put their music among the people. They wanna stay small and nowadays Heimat plates are extremely rare and precious. If I can catch one, I don't hesitate. About Sieger 1957 there is not much to tell. A few members were active in AGM, the best punk band in Bremen, and this is their only release. Three tracks you like or dislike. It starts with a reggae tune, sax-intro and lapping comfortably forward. No real Punk cracker at all but nice playing as well. 'Aufstand In Der Badewanne (Riot In The Bathtub)' attracts the pace and is a nice two minute NDW/Punk goodie. The last one 'Europa' is the best for me here, much music like an instrumental and good lyrics about living in our narrow Europe. Check it out!

C.T.T. - Destruição 7'' 1981

Amazingly hearty debut by C.T.T. (Conjunto Tipico Torreense), a Portuguese rock band which was formed in Torres Vedras in the early '80s and they have two albums and a few 7Inches recorded. The a-side is an awsome 2:32 mid-tempo goodie with nice guitar and delicious organ while the flip is plainly reggae influenced and good as well. The band split up in 1994 and maybe I have another as an encore ready.

BROKEN TOYS - 4 Track EP 1990

Classic 'bubblegum' punkrock from Boston/USA. These songs plus some more were recorded in 1986 and have been originally released at the band's own label Trash Tone Records on audio-cassette-format. Then Incognito got aware of these punkrock-nuggets and pressed the best four tunes on a 7inch. Brilliant sound like Sloppy Seconds, Blisters, etc. and if you want more don't miss their Dirt album in this house of fools.

HEADLEADERS - Voices EP 1982

Interesting 7Inch on Creep Records by this four piece from Athens and this is their debut with three new wave goodies in English. Founded by Baselie (drums+vocals), Spiros Faros (bass), Dakis Halkiopoulos (guitar+vocals) and Frank Vakoulas (vocals). Beautiful melodies with an impulsive fat bass-line and gloomy lyrics. In 1983 followed the album What It Means To Me which is also great. Check this out.

THE TRUENTS - Don't Look Back 7'' 1998

Pithy goes on with the Truents, one of NYC's Punk Rock bands that put their heart and soul into their music and became a household name. They called their music Punk'N'Roll w/a Twist (whatever that may be) and they shook the 90s right through with their fast paced punkrock. This is their third single on TKO records with two dynamic ass kickers and I bought this record for low bucks because the cover turns me on. The band has recorded four singles and one album and disappeared shortly before Millenium. Cool Cats.

SEXE Á PILE - Pas Vraiment Méchant 7'' 1979

Let's open the month of June with a rare refreshing 7Inch by Sexe Á Pile, a band from Lyon with their only record which brings walls to collapse and hips swing. Two rushing songs that put me in the best party mood and like the taste of fresh strawberries melt on my tongue. About the band I have no further info and even the detectives have not discovered them for any compilation. Only in 2013 we meet them again on the famous Je Suis Punk record. Don't not know exactly who sent me the mp3s but I like to pass them on to you. Be excited - Santé
