RADIOAKTIVA RÄKER - Verkligheten EP 1993

Ohhh my dear followers, bad news: my turntable is kaputt, the needle said goodbye and now I'm standing in the woods. Even shaved legs are of little use, believe me, damn damn damn. Well, now it must the stock of friends and sleeping rips to serve and the first combo is a freshly ripped 7Inch from Sweden and the combo is called Radioaktiva Räker, a TrallPunk (Trallpunk is a Swedish subgenre Punk style that is based on trall-friendly melodies, fast drum beats and often political (mostly left-leaning) or narrative texts. The pioneers of Trallpunk are said to be Asta Kask and Strebers, however, there are divided opinions about this. Trallpunk gained increased popularity during part of the 1990s) band which formed 1991 by teenagers Johan (vocals/guitars), Danne (guitars), Jimmy (bass), Jonas (drums) in Hofors, Gästrikland and disbanded in 2003 after a small summer tour. After two demos they caught in summer 1992 a record deal with Beat Butchers and all records, three albums & two 7Inches, came out there. Their fast, sing-along melodic songs came to symbolize for many the Swedish Punk/Wave that culminated in the mid-1990s.

The band reunited on 25.09.2009, for an evening with the celebration of the Beat Butchers 25 year anniversary. This occurred on Södra Teatern in Stockholm together with a number of other bands that have collaborated with Beat Butchers.

ASTA KASK - Handen På Hjärtat 2013

Founded 1978 in Töreboda, Asta Kask have been on the road for a number of years and have released a couple of important albums. Handen Pa Hjärtat is their latest one and the first thing that strikes you is the grandiose cover, which I think is very successful. Speaks a clear language, doesn't it? Also noteworthy the record label with the sonorous name "Kloakens Alternativa Antiproduktion" which immediately makes me smile and I tip my hat to so much creativity. This is what I called D.I.Y. Their two 80's albums Med Is I Magen & Aldrig En are fantastic must-listen slabs and with this piece of wax they continue seamlessly. Eleven melodic icings that delight the heart and push you into another dimension, even the Martians fall off their chairs. Despite singing in Swedish, the band have gained international reputation and their songs have been covered by acts from three continents. You see, you don't always need English. Enough words, I have a lot of housework today and maybe I'll rip another record, ma gugge.

V/A - Planet Punk #4 2005

Second and last part of Planet Punk and with Volume 3, this little self-made series is already complete. H2D#26 is another tidbit full of rare stars from international bands that are still kicking ass, much in demand and popular in our fucking disillusioned times which bring little decent music to light in my opinion. Music is like inventions, there is nothing innovative that can really impress me, hardly any wow factor or thing that I can really admire. And I would say that for almost twenty years. Speaking of music, we all hear & see the so called "combos" thrown together, the TV shows which offer only shit and are played over and over by radio stations, all this crap is boring, repetitive and only geared towards profit, commercial shit and really sucks. It's really intoxicating to get acquainted with such music as on this further fantastic compilation and to eke out an existence far away from this dead & dull society. That are the words for Sunday, Amen! Enjoy the vibes of the good ole days!

ROLAND'S GOSSKÖR - Pigs Part One EP 1983 + Genom Barriären EP 1984

Roland's Gosskör are a punk band from Åkersberga which founded in 1978. First they playing their first concert at Bergaskolans Uppehållsrum in 1978 under the name Fast Kids. They were class mates Conny Melkersson, Curt Sandgren, Johan Lindström and Magnus Lange. Magnus departed quite early when the musical direction of every little sketch and too much punk. Ola Olsveten came in and the name was changed to Roland's Gosskör. In Winter 1979 they recorded the first demo and it became a worldwide success in the circle of friends. 1980, drummer Olis could not or did not want to play anymore, so during a concert in front of 500 raggare hazardous they recruited their new drummer Patrik Trankell. 1982 the 2nd demo was recorded. The Exploited played this year in Stockholm, but they never showed up so the band was honored to enter the stage instead, the audience consisted of fifty skinheads. After a few minutes of scratching in the barn so the concert started and Roland had a new bassist, Åke. In 1983 the first EP 'Pigs Part One' came out and they had ten hours studio time at night to an "unbelievable price". The EP was pressed in 480 copies but no one wanted to buy it and in the end they stayed minus. So the band come in contact with Janne Dahlbom from Rosa Hornung and he had heard Roland's second demo. He works on the compilation Vägra För Helvete and he puts 'Gossen Franco & Maktbegär' on this record. So at the time a radio show called 'Lilla Bommen' rewievs the comp. and the voice says: 'It sounds as if all the bands are recorded through a telephone, except Roland's Gosskör.' So they were very excited and sent a copy of the first EP to Lilla Bommen and the song 'FBU' was elected as the most played song in the show in 1984. So the train started to roll with more gigs and new songs. 1984 the second EP was released on Studio Otukt Records with three classic '77 style punk smashers. Patrik went to Florida and they're playing now as a trio. The result is a song on the live compilation Birkagården Gärdet. Roland's Gosskör continued to play a whole lot out there. 1986, they went into the studio again to record their third single 'Långt Härifrån', unfortunately, there was no money to continue and so the record never came out. Around 1988 they envolved into NEIN and play together with Coca Carola a gig in Ultrahuset, it was the night the house burned down.

A limited cassette (Långt Härifrån) was produced and given to all who had been involved in the 'Sista Dansen' project. The cassette was a full set from the concert. 1990, the label Studio Otukt released the live split LP Sista Dansen (with Asta Kask) and it can not measure up to the inferno that the three concerts were for those who were there, but the LP proofs that it happened. 1992 saw a re-issue of the second EP on Beat Butchers and the band had a short reunion to play on their 10 year anniversary. Roland's Gosskör leave us with two amazing crazy records and have a permanent place when we talk about early Swedish punk rock.

SIXTEN REDLÖS - Ni Ska Få Ångra 7'' 1984 + I Wish I Woz An Animal 7'' 1985

Sixten Redlös (aka 6-10 Redlös) was a punk band from Jönköping who was active 1981 - 1987, 2002 and 2009-2010. They released during the latter period, in the 1980s a couple of singles and an LP. The band started as a skatepunk band in the early 80's in Jönköping/Huskvarna. The first gig was on 22. November 1981. The band was first called 'Rövens Hemd' but changed soon to Sixten Redlös. Group members were heavily involved in the occupation of the old fire station in Jönköping and thus became one of the first bands that moved into the Kulturhus, the result of the occupation. The drummer Jonas was replaced by Johan and Jojje stopped playing guitar. The group recorded the first demo in Asta Kasks Studio in Töreboda. A few years later they released the first single "Ni Ska Få Ångra" on the label S Records. 1985 follows single number 2 "I Wish I Woz An Animal", recorded in MNW studio in Waxholm. The band dissolved in 1987 after a series of chaotic gigs. In the 90's Seadog Records released a best of compilation called "Sålunda Spelade Sixten Redlös". When the Kulturhuset in Jönköping celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2002 the band main attraction and in 2009 it was again time for Sixten Redlös to get up on stage. Along with punk comrades Asta Kask they did a number of sold-out gigs. In 2010 they played on "Den Stora Punkgalan" in Stockholm, including Bitch Boys, Stoodes, Problem and P-Nissarna. The band appeared on several Swedish punk compilations. Two solid 7Inches full with a powerful sound and don't worry: This is Punkrock!!!!

V/A - Chaos In Europe 1985

Another wonderful compilation of brilliant Oi!/Punk stuff is this record, released by Chaos Production and it brings a small sample of the punk scene here in Europe of the early 80s. I must confess that it's a long time ago I listen to but it's always a pleasure when I pick this record up again. Here's a review that says all: "Despite a well-drawn but obnoxious macho cover with blatant evocations of violence, the third Chaos Production compilation proves to be another very strong release. This one has band from all over Europe on if, thereby extending its range and variety. Herein one can find the standard French-style skunk (KOMINTERN SECT, REICH ORGASM, L'ENFANTS SAUVAGES, and Spain's DECIBELIOS), catchy pop punk (AL KAPOTT, DREI ORLOK, Spain's T.N.T., Holland's NV LE ANDEREN, and a killer cut from Sweden's ASTA KASK) pure Oi (BRUTAL COMBAT and Italy's NABAT), and all sorts of punk (KAMBRONES, Germany's F.F.F. and NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES, and Sweden's SLAM). Highly Recommended." - Jeff Bale (from Maximum Rocknroll #27, August 1985) - Nothin' to add, so let's start the download and open a beer meanwhile.

1.Tous Ensemble - KOMINTERN SECT
2.Supporter - REICH ORGASM
3.Dodot No Ha Muerto - DECIBELIOS
4.Guernicka - T.N.T.
5.Les Bras Musclés - AL KAPOTT
6.Bobby's Spelunke - F.F.F.

ASTA KASK - Aldrig En 1986

Asta Kask is a Swedish punk band from Töreboda. In 1978 the band were founded by Micke Blomqvist (vocals and guitar), Pelle Karlsson, Uffe Karlsson and Stefan Hovbjer under the name X-Tas and later renamed Asta Kask. This band recorded their first EP in 1981 and broke up shortly thereafter. After a few line-up changes they released up to 1986 three EP's, a mini-LP, a live record and a studio LP. Asta Kask never planned to record a full length album, but they did it and it called "Aldrig En" (never a LP). Then they split up and played in other bands like Strebers or Cosa Nostra. Three years later Asta Kask came back because all four had fun making music together. 1993 the band split up again. Ten years later, re-reunion and the result is the second album "En För Alla, Ingen För Nan" which came out in 2006. They're still active and the third album "Handen På Hjärtat" is a fuckin' blast like this debut record here. Good swedish melodic power punkrock.

STREBERS - 7'' Collection 1985 - 1990

This is a little compilation full of 7inches by another awesome Swedish punk band which come over with a powerful and melodic sound and nobody can just go over here. They released a lot of 7inches and albums, and they present on a lot of compilations too and you can catch more in the net about them. Here's a bit info I would give: One of the classic swedish punkbands in the mid 80's. Influenced by bands like Asta Kask and in 1987 Micke from Asta Kask joined Strebers as a full member on guitar and vocals. Songs were conceived by drummer Johnny Rydh, who whistled melodies to guitarist Mikael "Ulke" Johansson. Johansson then in turn translated the harmonies to electric guitar. His distinctive guitar sound played a major role in Strebers' songs, which were a mix of punk rock and Swedish folk music, while Rydh wrote most of the lyrics. The band first split up in 1988, Rydh and Ulke then started the band Six Guns together with the bassplayer Ztikkan from Rojnes and Crystal Ocean. Before they changed the name back to Strebers in 1989 with the same line-up as they have had in Six Guns. Early in 1992 the drummer Johnny Rydh was killed in a car accident and the band then decided to quit. Ulke and Ztikkan later formed the even more successful band Dia Psalma. Strebers reunited in 2000 for a gig at the Birdnest-anniversary in Köping. They also made a reunion-tour in 2001 and played at the Hultsfred-festival in 2003. This little file contains the Ung & Arg! EP ('85), På Liv & Död EP ('86), Mitt Blood EP ('88), Flickan & Kråkan EP ('90) and the reissue Bad Boys...Behind Bars! EP from 1991 which has the same songs like the Mitt Blood EP but with different artwork. A lot of stuff also but the Strebers are quite brilliant and positive vibes are guaranteed.

Shit, it's so fuckin' cold and I have a big big hangover, bbrrrrrrrr.... - so the right time to stay at home and post some awesome records. All loud as hell and with the aim to raise as much money as possible to the No one is Illegal Network and their work for a world without borders. Well, I have a different opinion about it.... all songs are great songs and a very well done record.
