V/A - Der Tollschock Sampler 1989

This one's for Uncle Joe by request and I own the record for a long time but it's one I must sell off, needless to say why. Well, this is one of the first releases of Pedder's (R.I.P.) label Skan Productions which he founded end of the 80s and there are not many stuff published there but a few bright moments and this first compilation is one of them. More than half of the songs so far unpublished and the fourteen tunes are a healthy mix of Oi!, Punk and Psychobilly and a beautiful ballad on the end. Cool title, nice artwork and all lyrics/infos inside.... needs to be hear loud!

MFD - Full Volume 1988

All right, one more great record from the States by M.F.D. and this is their second one on DSI Records and the album title says all: exceptional perfect punk smasher as I like it, short & dirty and perfect recordings. Because today is a football break and I have nothing better to do so I dedicate myself again to music. Here you get eleven stories of the very finest, I think, I bought the vinyl here on a record fair in Exzess for an acceptable price (I also have three singles and one I re-upp for you, the All Of This EP). Only manko, with twenty-four minutes playing time much too short. Who cares? Get this damn cool record or be a brussels sprouts.

CASE - Wheat From The Chaff EP 1983

Very good record by Case and the only one they released on Sus Records. Three classic UK punk smasher and I first came up with the gents by listen to the three goodies from the Oi!, The Demos compilation. Formed 1979 in Croydon, South London by Matt Newman (vocals), Rob Brook (guitar), Martin Parrot (drums) and Marc Adams (bass) they made a demo and send it to some labels but it took four years to finally the 7Inch appeared, a real shame because the sound is refreshing and lyrically appealing. A decent mix of ska and Punk and 'Criminal Ways' is an outstanding track. In 2011 Damaged Goods released a compilation called Ain't Gonna Dance! with recordings from 1980-1985. Get It!

NO EXIT - s/t LP 1980

Request time now and I haven't think that it goes so fast with this rare nugget, of course from the Wanted-List, not from me because I don't know this band but here it is. What I know: this record is fuckin' rare as hell, pressed in an edition of fifty copes, self-released by the band and No Exit are from Vancouver and you can read lots of infos about this record on citizenfreak, a Canadian music site with tons of reviews and more. I myself must say that this music is okay, nice low-fi punk with good lyrics but I'm not the type who would pay € 800 or more for this one (seen on discogs). The rip is not mine and partially crappy which can certainly lie by the ripper but for a record like this we don't complain and enjoy the real pure early sound of No Exit. Hope I made your day!

A nice little international compilation from Nasty Vinyl with four decent punk goodies. First Lost Lyrics from Germany with a song about sad marie without happy end, then Broken Toys from Amiland with a song from their first tape, La Secta from the Basque Country with an outtake goodie and the Swedish New Wind with a thoughtful personal number about the ratio I and the world. To the wake up and more stuff later.

1.Sad Marie - LOST LYRICS
2.Junky For You - BROKEN TOYS
3.Life Pain - LA SECTA
4.In This World - THE NEW WIND

BOSKOPS - Sol 12 1983

Finest raw trashpunk by the Boskops from Hanover. Here's their awesome debut album with twenty-two killers. I remember after the first listen I was blowin' away by this energy & rage sound and the offensive lyrics, it's still fun listen again to them after all this years. The Boskops are a further band of my own early punk days and one of the best in Germany these days. The band founded between 1982 and 1983. Most of the members knew each other from the Hanoverian punk band Blitzkrieg. In 1983 they released Sol 12 on Frostschutz Records (unfortunately the record label got ruined shortly after the release). The brutality and speed of their songs made Boskops quite well known in the punk underground. In the same line-up they recorded later their second album Lauschgift, which was a bit slower but nevertheless with power and hardness. The participation on the We Don't Need Nuclear Force and the Hardcore Vol.1 compilations made Boskops known internationally. In 1988 the third album F.E.D.I.A. was released as a self-production with distinctly metallic elements, 1991 the last album Non Plus Ultra. End of the 1990s, the band broke up. A.M. Music published in the 90's all albums each a double pack on CD. Recordings from the never finished fifth album released in 2000 on the third BRD Punk Terror-Sampler Compilation on Nasty Vinyl. A German classic noble record and a fuckin' must have!!!

OUR NEIGHBORS SUCK - Isolation 1985

After a very long time I have devoted my full attention to this record again. There are few Rock-O-Rama plates that I really like (approximately the first thirty releases) but the rest are scum. Well, now I'm landed on Isolation and after listening once I must say that ONS play a good hardcore rail. The sound here is a bit weak and so the songs lose their power but why they choose this German label is another story. Here's a short review: "Most of the songs by the Arizona-based band are in the medium-paced punk vein, with a few slower or more rapid-fire. The production sound is thick here and, combined with their rock influences, makes for a lot of listening. Not awesome, but well done. Question remains though why they chose this label often accused by German punks of pro-Nazi connections." - Tim Yohannan (from Maximum Rocknroll #33, February 1986) Well, nothing special but not that bad either.

MICKEYMAN & EXTREM - Split LP 1983

The first release of this ultra-rare original Austrian pressing from 1983 shows the debut of two bands from Vienna. Now an extremely cool song from an extremely cool band: "Fress'n, Sauf'n, Scheiss'n, Prunz'n" is the ultimate rejection to the Austrian philistines with their 40-hour week, the obligatory television evening after work and the drunkexcesses around the corner. Austria needs to burn, all right? EXTREM founded already in the summer of 1979 in Vienna and went through a short time with some line-up changes, and Mickey Kodak, alias MICKEYMAN took them and recorded a split LP on their label Rebel. Recorded in July 1983 in the Gaga, the result was probably the harshest and toughest punkrock publication, which had until then spit the steak paradise to light. Oaschloch-Rhetoric in crude Viennese, jagged hardcore punk guitars and drums beating high-speed at the door to madness and say Serwas! I'm ahead of my time..' MICKEYMAN took them and recorded a split LP on his label Rebel. The American punk Magazine "Maximum Rock-N-Roll" reviews: The Extrem side is extreme! Raucous cycloning mayhem from Austria, enough driving power and insistent quickness to hurl you into a venture mega-speed craziness. Savage guitar grinds charge out a brutal slaughter of aggression and combustion, crammed into a wild seizure of raw energy. Extrem escalate with each zooming slice. Mickeyman is Austrian reggae done well, and their punk song is basic and humorous. Don't miss this album! - the Extrem stuff is drastic plastic. - Pushead (from Maximum Rocknroll #14, June 1984) - No wonder he invited them to contribute a song to his now legendary Cleanse The Bacteria compilation in 1985 and this was the first time that an Austrian punk band was released in the U.S. - In 1991 they changed their band name in EAT LEAD and disbanded at the end of the year, finally!

VEM BRYR SIG? - Va Fan E Re Nu Rå? EP 2009

A blast from the past: Vem Bryr Sig? from Lidingö formed in September 1979 and had their first concert at a talent show two weeks later. Played fairly extensively in the Stockholm area and Karlshamn until the split in 1981. They won after the jury has been threatened with beating if they did not vote for the band. The group was formed from the wreckage of a blues band as Janne Hoffner (guitar) and Patrick 'Pruten' Wedholm (drums) had. Hoffner and Pruten asked Weston if he wanted to sing in a punk band that he did, and with The Cramps modeled trio were ready to rock on Lidingö. Further line-up changes followed and the band played gigs at schools and other locations until the split in December 1981. The band never made a record but are included on the live compilation ”Lajv På Kulan” from 1981. In the book 'One two three four We're Vem Bryr Sig?' by the band's lead singer Henry Weston he wrote and published himself in true punk spirit the way of the band from its inception in 1979 to the end of 1980/81. The book became a minor underground hit. This led to Vem Bryr Sig? reunited in 2008. The band got the taste of blood and in April they went into the studio and recorded eight songs. Four of these are on this EP, originally written between 1979-1981, four crazy punk blasts in a typical kbd style, even after 30 years still fresh and uninhibited.
