ALIEN SEX FIEND - I Walk The Line 12'' 1986

Last week I listen to my favourite Electronic music combo Alien Sex Fiend and I note that I have not digitized a platte and I own five. I change this of course and the start makes this nice 12'' from 1986. Since 1982 the constant members Nik Fiend (Nik Wade) and Mrs. Fiend (Christine Wade) are active and shoot finest Electro Punk out with some excellent lyrics, slightly schizophrenic and morbid, but always driving positive beats (the press called this Deathrock)The band is well known in the gothic scene for its dark, electronic industrial-leaning sound, heavy samples, loops, dub remixes. First record 'Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain' (1983) was released by Anagram and is in my opinion a solid punk record with the great 'Ignore The Machine' which was released as 7/12''. Success came, followed by eleven albums and 1997 I saw them live in the Batschkapp, terrific! - now dug up again.

LA SOURIS DÉGLINGUÉE - s/t LP 1981

Founded in the suburbs of Paris come the french punk band La Souris Déglinguée (LSD), built around the singer Tai-Luc in 1976 and they still active. They were brilliant in their music style from punk rock to sixties, Oi! to dub through rap and rock and roll and the lyrics theme runs from Vietnam to the red suburbs. The first concert of LSD was 1979. Their first single is funded by friends. Muzo joined LSD in 1983 as saxophonist. The group is constantly innovating and does not hesitate to build bridges with other musical styles. This is their first album which was released by New Rose Records and is a pretty example for different music stuff, mainly here is punk the sound. They are the pirates of punk rock, being francization, they are known in the seedy clubs of the capital city, then they stormed Orléans and the scenes of the deep province. Fifteen songs and I promise you will not regret it - Prost!

MONO - Sisch Doch Nur Äs Märli 1982

Start Sunday with a rather unknown and obscured band from Zurich: The MONO released a great EP in 1981 and a year later their only full length Album at Monokel Records. And the Swissmen present ten talented punk rock anthems in their charmin' Zurich dialect. This is an absolute rare album today and it's very hard to find. I'm searchin' a long fuckin' time to get this copy, believe me. I think 1000 copies were pressed. The pauses between the songs are constantly filled with different noises like birds chirping, strange talks or other similar obscure stuff. Like little intros, very very amusing. The cover artwork is held in very nice, colorful and with a great booklet inside (but I'm too lazy to scan it) and the band has probably paid enormous sums of money and then they went to the employment office. Maybe their neighbor kids have done all the drawings because in Switzerland you help each other. Who knows?, hahaha.... I wonder why they not on the Definitiv Zurich compilation... hmmmmm, anyway, a brilliant album that deserves attention and I know I get surely yours.

DIE SUURBIERS - Kein Mann Für Eine Nacht 12'' 1985

Berlin based punk, Die Suurbiers have been around for ages, some of their members went to such bands as Die Ärzte and Die Tote Hosen. One of the first bands in Germany to produce what later many describe as "FunPunk". But don't let that tag scare you, because these guys be punks as anyone! The band were founded in 1981 as Frau Suurbier and should appear as a kind of clan (as same as the Ramones). So the three members called Cäpt'n, Hans and Tom Suurbier. The bands name was taken by a sketch from Otto Waalkes and musically they played a cool punk/rockabilly style with funny lyrics. They wanted to be as far away from the Berlin punk scene and bring in a simple and direct style their music to the people. In 1982 their first songs appear on the newly founded Berlin label Schnick-Schnack (later Vielklang), which was founded by members of the band Panzerknacker AG, compilation Ein Vollrausch In Stereo – 20 schäumende Stimmungshits. The publication of the sampler was celebrated with a boat trip on 11.May 1983 under the theme "Stimmung – Im Vollrausch LIVE An Bord" and the trip was great, but for the organizers of the label a costly success, because the guests put the steamer almost in ruins. 1985 the band's only album, a 12'' was released on Weser Label with five poppy punk tunes. In that same year, the band decided to enter the beer market and were owner of a small private brewery. The beer called Suurbier and was given to the people on gigs in 0.33-liter cans. In 1991 the band released their last record with a new line up: Cäpt’N, Bugs, Honkytonk & Overnight Suurbier called 'Zwei Boys Für Jedes Girl!' Then for personal reasons the band disappear. Beautiful record which deserves a chance!!!! Amen!

V/A - Sjokk Rock 1980

Recorded at Høvikodden June 1980 comes this rare Mini-LP with eight live tracks from the créme de la créme of norwegian punk rock. I've been searchin' a fuckin' long time to hear this record and now contributed by Mister "classic stuff" Fredrik (Skål!). All tunes came along in an awesome sound quality and it starts with with a torpedo from Kjøtt, followed by a band called 1984 which says nothing to me but this tracks kicks arse, holy shit, next my absolute favourite band: Hærverk from Oslo and this tune is a killer like the songs from their only EP 'Stengt Pga Hærverk', I think their live tape would also great. With Blaupunkt & Oslo Børs comes again two '77 style tracks which I would have definitely taken on tape if I do one. Next, (Psykedeliske) Tystere, unknown to me and the track takes the fast pace out of here and goes a little in the rock section with a touch of small swing elements, not bad, then Babij Jar and they are ugly rockin' with a long solo guitar ala Jimi Hendrix (the worst track here) and at last a surfin' influenced track with a fuzzy guitar and a nice tempo from The Aller Værste. All in all a fantastic record which has convinced me with their fully rough & wild live sound.

1.Flue - KJØTT
2.Hva Faen - 1984
3.Aj, Aj, Aj Så Leit - HÆRVERK
4.Gul & Blå - BLAUPUNKT
5.Fikser Du Livet Ditt - OSLO BØRS
6.Ramba - (PSYKEDELISKE) TYSTERE
7.Donk-Donk - BABIJ JAR
8.Dans Til Musikken - THE ALLER VÆRSTE

- Huge Fat Thx to Fredrik -

V/A - A Farewell To Arms 1986

Original released on Selfish Records, re-released by the German label Nuclear Blast in 1988 goes this compilation powerful to the point. Finest Japan hardcore plus the half high quality metal punk, and as well is the sound. Kick off with Lipcream and Outo, songs which barely reach the two minute mark, following by two decent mid-tempo numbers from Gastunk (The Eyes is a killer!), then Gauze with four puke on your face numbers. Ghoul shine with some heavy pounding metal sound and last but not least, The Execute with two more dirty raw punkrock hits. Overall, a fantastic platte with a nice title and cool music, a real Monday pleasure.

WIZO - Für'n Arsch 1991

Wizo is a punk rock band from Sindelfingen, Germany. The band was formed in 1985. Their messages run from political to humorous, and they are strongly opposed to nazism, racism and "all of that crap". They split up in March 2005 and reunited in November 2009. In 1991 the first album "Für'n Arsch" (familiar for "To No Avail", lit. for "for the ass") was released on Hulk Räckorz and it has been censored later because the prosecutor had a problem with the song 'Kein Gerede', it was too offense. Hmm, I think it's nothing wrong with that but who can see in the small brains of the official assholes. Wizo sung in german & english and this is a brilliant debut punk album and long sold out... here's your last chance.

BAD BOO BAND - Knulla I Bangkok 7'' 1979

From Hedemora in the west of Sweden came the Bad Boo Band and they started in 1979 and played a handful of gigs before they bring out their debut single called translated Fucking in Bangkok, they also have out a 12'' called 'Släck Alla Ljusen' (Extinguish All Candles) which was published in 1985 but this is not worth talking about. This 7'' is a great KBD killer and was quickly banned from all radio stations and the reason is quite obvious, haha.. - The record came out with no sleeve and is today one of the rarest swedish punk record. Knulla I Bangkok is also published on the pretty CD compilation Vägra Raggarna Benzin Vol.2 which was released by Massproduktion in 1998. So enjoy these two brilliant punkhits from the early days of Swedish punk and a must for those who were interested in what was happening around in Sweden at that time.

- Huge Thx again to Mr.Fredrik -
