SO MUCH HATE - Lies 1993

The fifth and last album by this four piece Hardcores from Oslo, active 1986-1996, on X-Mist Records/Progress Records. So Much Hate consisted of members of Svart Framtid, Kafka Process and Bannlyst. The band was one of the hardest Norwegian hardcore bands in the 80's and 90's. They played over 400 concerts in Norway and abroad. So Much Hate was strongly linked to the Blitz House and the plates, and especially their lyrics appear to be time-sculptures from Blitz's history. So Much Hate was more uncompromising and hard-hitting than any other Norwegian band from their time and were one of the leading underground bands in Europe. They were on tour including with Ignition and played more concerts together with greats such as Fugazi, Indigesti and Kina. After a farewell tour in Europe in fall 1996, they played their last concert at Blitz on November 14, 1996. Vocalist Gunnar (vocals) moved shortly to Germany and settled there, Løvik (guitars) joined the band Captain Not Responsible, while Per (bass) and Finn (drums) joined Drunk. Løvik died in March 2007. If you like the album I recommend their third Blind Alley (listen).

NEC+ULTRA - Week-End Sanglant EP 1980

Only release by this French wave/punk combo from Strasbourg on Punk Records and about Ludwig Van (vocals), Bmc Tronçönh (guitar), Yo (bass) and Neú Lulu (drums) I have nothing much report. I guess they dissolved shortly after the release of the record. In any case, the four songs are obliquely with a small touch of keys and some would call their sound post/wave/ punk. The thin amateurish recording appeals and I like this very much and with 2+2 is a real hit there, Moses would certainly had an erection would he have heard thatUnfortunately there are no more songs, no compilation contributions as far as I know and so only these four rare extraordinary nuggets remain. Now I'm travel to Moscow and watch Belgium-Tunisia with a few Jever plus a delicious Pizza.... I love Weekends!

V/A - Killed By Death #19 1998

700 pressed on black vinyl with plain white labels in a nice foldout sleeve. Shit! Another volume of Killed By Death!!!! Don't worry man, this is the ultimate and greatest of this stupid series. This one contains tons of rare and marvellous examples of American punkrock between '79-'80 (except the K-Tels were from Canada). Several of the records included here would quite likely give collectors their greatest sexual experience were they to actually get their hands on them. You get to hear one track from the Jackie Shark & The Beach Butchers 7", almost completely unknown until very recently. There is also a track from the Noise 7", one of the top 10 over-rated punk records of all time. As is usual with obscure American punk records many of these are good, worth listening to a few times a year, but would you be stupid enough to pay hundreds of dollars for them?

1.2nd Generation Rising - JACKIE SHARK & THE BEACH BUTCHERS
2.I Want Sex - REACTORS
3.Seduction Center - REACTORS
4.Out In The Street - EXIT
5.TV Violence - KILLER BEES
6.Just Like Dresden '45 - N.Y. NIGGERS
7.Kill It - THE PANICS
8.Teenage Lifestyle - PENETRATORS
9.Let's Have Some Fun Tonight - NOISE
10.Kind Of A Drag - BRAIN POLICE
11.Kill Hirb Cane - CARPETS
12.Zombie Lover - THE INSULTS
13.8th Avenue - ELECTROFLEX
14.Underground - EPICYCLE
15.Resistance - EXECUTIVES
16.Where Are You? - K-TELS

LE BEAU LAC DE BÂLE - Je Suis Speed 7'' 1978

Debut 7Inch by this Swiss combo called Le Beau Lac De Bâle on Stamy Records, a wild furious and libertarian rock band from Geneva. Founded 1977 by a group of buddies at the Festival De La Bâtie, the group quickly became famous for its humorous and musical style, as well as the many concerts in which the musicians stage their pieces. In the 1990s, the group experienced a heyday with the release of two CDs which record their old titles and two more albums with new stuff. They are then contacted to develop the group outside the canton of Geneva, but members of the group reject these suggestions because of their family and working life. For thirty years, the group has volunteered for clubs or neighborhood events (for example for the group for a Switzerland without army or for a rally for El Salvador). The musical specialty of the bands is the revival of great classic blues and rock'n'roll with sarcastic lyrics and often absurd. Enjoy without restriction!

RHEINGOLD - s/t LP 1980

A band with I grew up is not a punk band, No! at that time NDW was hot and a lot of bands were founded and published cool records. This is one of them: Rheingold was a German New Wave group that consisted of Bodo Staiger (vocals, guitar), Lothar Manteuffel (lyrics) und Brigitte Kunze (keyboard). They sang both in German and English and released three LP’s and several singles between 1980 and 1984.Before they formed Rheingold, Bodo Steiger sang together in a band with Marius Müller-Westernhagen. Inspired through the Düsseldorf's music scene and fellow Germans Kraftwerk, Steiger formed Rheingold who was named after the opera "Ring der Nibelungen" of Richard Wagner. Lothar Manteuffel wrote the songs and Brigitte Kunze did some vocals on their first self-titled LP that was released on Weltrekord. (38 weeks in the charts). Their most successful 7'' 'Dreiklangsdimensionen' was released in 1980 as well as the singles 'Fluss' and 'Fan Fan Fanatisch'. Fan Fan Fanatisch apperaed on their second album "R" which was released in 1982 and was used for the movie Der Fan, which cast also included Bodo Staiger in the main role, short story: A young presenter (Desirée Nosbusch) adores a music star called R (B.Staiger) and eat him because he does not reciprocated her love. The media "Scandal" pushed the sales of the soundtrack at #13 in the album charts. The band also released English versions of the songs in England and USA, not with much success as they hoped though. Neither did their last album show more success and so the band split and they never released music under this name. Lothar Manteuffel teamed up with former Kraftwerk musician Karl Bartos to form Elektric Music and Bodo Staiger was working with ex Kraftwerk member Wolfgang Flür and today he’s busy as a music producer. Rheingold were always a welcome contribution on various NDW compilations.

JONAS - Grubby EP 1999

I can't really say how I came to this band but we have still CD days and here their five track EP from the Hamburg label L'Age D'Or. Jonas, these were four very young people, all between 17-19, from Bad Bentheim in the south of Lower Saxony, whose musical preferences were above all with Nirvana and Tocotronic. About Tocotronic Jonas also came to their first record contract. A History that sounds a bit like a movie: sometime 1997 the band goes to Bochum to watch Tocotronic live. When suddenly Jan Müller is around, they decide to give him their tape. He is excited and offers Jonas to go in a studio and made a record with them. 1998 appears as the first album on the band's label Rock-O-Tronic, assisted by Lado, called September Sex Relationship. One year later the second Sorry, I'm Sorry, Sorry. After Mathias Exler and Jan van Trieste with new Musicians had already formed a new band that would later become known as the Union Youth, Jonas announced in 2001 by email their resolution, that's the story. Musical between grunge and emotional, to enjoy their music a little video... check them out!

DEZERTER - Underground Out Of Poland 1987

The Football World Cup is currently and I try to watch every game but the fucking work doesn't give me the opportunity but anyway, that's the reason why I post not much these days. Now after the Spain match this nice compilation from Maximumrocknroll ‎with Dezerter from Warsaw. Formed by electronic technical high school students Krzysztof Grabowski (drums + lyrics) and Robert "Robal” Matera (guitar + vocals). The band was originally called SS-20 (after Soviet ballistic missiles, they were stationed, among other places, in Poland), the lineup was augmented by: Darek „Stepa” Stepnowski (bass/vocals) and Darek "Skandal” Hajn (vocals). They're very successful and known for the fast and angry music and I would say the most famous Polish punk export. Lots of records were released and on this eighteen slab the 1983 Ku Przyszłości EP plus live and outtake recordings, all in all a solid overview of this gifted combo.

HERR MARMELAD & HANS SKORPOR - ... Någonstans I Sverige EP 1980

Early in the morning and after ripping two records now a rare one with old content. Mr. Marmalade and Hans Skorpor were a six piece combo ((Mr. Eriksson, Mr. Lagerlöf, Mr.Lilja, Mr. Lindkvist, Mr. Lundström and Mr. Svanberg) from Stockholm and was an acclaimed live band of the early 80's, but also one of the bands that played for the blessed radio program New Wave. This is their rare debut record on Sista Bussen, two years later came their 2nd and last EP "Vår Bäste Vän" out, which is more ska oriented. But here they're weird and funny and mix their dirty punk sound with fat raw guitar solos which gave all the three songs a glamour rough feeling. Hell, is this awsome, haha... pretty cool '77 style in the KBD vain and with 'Visby Hotel' an absolute Killer track on it. So anyway, I write some shit here which nobody cares at all, you're here for the music and this blows the fuck out of your shoes.

NAUTA - Onko Suomi Vapaa Maa? EP 1979

Nauta (Reijo (vocals/guitar), Kai (guitar), Petri (keyboards), Pekka (bass) and Antti (drums) were founded in the late 70s where punk also conquered Finland. This is their rare and only record, self-financed and called Is Finland A Free Country? and published by Majuri Records. Meanwhile a rare collectors piece because only 150 copies exist. Listen to three beautiful melodic songs in finnish language and also worth mentioning is the hand-painted artwork. It's amazing (it seems there is a bubbling spring there) how easy the northmen create shallow pop-rhythms in a colorful punkdress and throw a lot of good records into the world... a meaningful pastime + dreams never end. They represented on two cool compilations from the 80's, 3 Vuotta Myöhemmin and Asfalttidisco. Nice One!
