HERMANN'S ORGIE - Die Moderne Welt & Andere Disharmonien 1980

Now a request from a very underrated band I think is this combo. Founded 1978 in Hamburg, members were: Clement Hülse (bass+vox), Jörg Holst (drums), Tom Meyer (vox+guitars), Christian Haimerl (sax) and they were one of the first to use German-language lyrics. They released two records, the 'Moderne Musik' EP in 1979, and their incredible debut album in 1980, both on their own Label Moderne Musik. The label Moderne Musik then went on to release other classic German language punk singles amongst others Slime and Napalm. Every song on this album impresses with its clear statement and bring the attitude of the band clearly expressed. Simple, directly and without ambiguity. A hearty renunciation to all those who make our lives difficult. And musically Hermann's Orgie keep the level high. Short fast songs mixed with a bit reggae and the saxophone shines as another solo & rhythm instrument, that confirms the two live songs at the end of the record. Check this Interview with bassist Clement from 2011 (in German) for more info. For me one of the essential D-punk albums by a really good band from the Waterkant.

I.A.F. & RÄHÄKKÄ - Split EP 2003

Again further with more extreme music, this time with two absolute brilliant bands and I love this awesome record. AARRGGHHHHHH, I'm fuckin' angry!!!! OK, first side is awesome killer trash hardcore from Barcelona from a band called I.A.F. (Ideal Anti Fascista) and if you have heard this you wonder if the B-side hardly beat this. Driving played hardcore volume with tempos and they're really pissed. I don't understand a fucking word so I think music like this speaks for itself (don't worry there's a lyric sheet inside) and I love this aggression and anger underlaid with a terrible sound, these guys are damn good. The same applies to Rähäkkä, a scandi-thrash-hardcore-crust band, extremely drunk but still political. The band was formed in the mid-90's in Tampere, Finland, featuring members from such legendary bands as Kaaos, Bastards and Kohu-63. The band is now back from a hiatus as long as three and a half years and is more fucked up than ever before, doing shows every once in a while and about to record some new material in the very near future.

POJKFAN TRILSKAS - Frisedel EP 1984

Another classic Swedish Punkrock band from the 80's are Pojkfan Trilskas from Stockholm. The band was formed about a year before this debut EP came out. Two years later they released their second EP. The band plays excellent noises of the early dirtys as I like it, fat guitars and powerful drums push the shit out of my mind. All sung in finest Swedish language (who needs english?), and I'm always surprised how much great bands I discover. Without the help of my estimated supporter Fredrik this blog would be only half interesting. I raise my glass at this point, SKÅL! - The band recorded some more songs but split up in 1987 after through some member changes. As soon as possible I will post their second record, be patient! See below, there's one more song by the band on the little nice 7Inch .EP. compilation. And now 2.Liga!

- Huge Thx to Fredrik -

TRUST - Hardcore Girls EP 2006

WOW! can't remeber when I heard an all girl band that can play super horny hardcore music like this. Six songs in seven minutes. Holy shit, this blast me away and if you really like HC you agree with me. Trust is an all girl hardcore band from from Buenos Aires and was formed in may of 2004. They were all youngsters and always went to hardcore shows so they decided to form a band. Some of them used to play in other punk rock bands. Trust play old school hardcore style like 7 Seconds, Up Front or Youth Of Today. Their lyrics are related to personal stuff; straight edge, vegetarianism and the place girls should even make hardcore music and life. So that's enough words, I promise this record kills your brain in every way.

V2 - Speed Freak EP 1978

Damn good debut record by this Manchester combo on Bent Records with three awesome KBD smasher and because I'm a lousy writer I steal a little Info: "V2 were formed in late 1976 by David Wilks and Mark Standley. Both were regulars at Bowie/Roxy clubs in Manchester and became aware of punk rock when Dave Went to see the Sex Pistols in Manchester. This seminal gig at the Lesser Free Trade hall, at which the Pistols were supported by Manchester bands, Slaughter and the dogs, the Buzzcocks, inspired the next generation of bands to come out of Manchester, the Drones, Joy Division, the Fall, and V2. V2 brought their Glam Rock past to the band, and quickly became a popular live act with over the top shows, explosions, smashing up their equipment, and bassist Stan the Man attacking audiences with his cricket bat guitar when they spat at him once to often. Their first single, released on Bent records, (small bent one) was released in late '77, and quickly sold out 3 pressings. It featured three songs, Speedfreak Nothing to do and That's it. It went into the alternative top ten on each release." Read the full V2 bio. R.I.P. David! Compilations featuring the band: England Belongs To Me and the brand new Greater Manchester Punk - matchless!

SUBVERT - The Madness Must End! EP 1988

I have the German pressing of the original release by Hippycore Records. Subvert are formed 1986 in Seattle and they were shredding the Tacoma scene from 1986 - 1991, they're hardcore stirred with a little bit of metal that's kind of a mirror image of the Accüsed or Poison Idea, just more political and vocal about the government. The band had a handful of releases and this piece of plastic was recorded at the famous Reciprocal Studios. Five cool crunchy numbers which brings my stupid neighbors on the verge of a nervous breakdown, maybe yours too - it's up to you.

NAZIS AGAINST FASCISM - Sid Did It 7'' 1979

A record which is posted in other blogs but most links are dead and I listen now to this record and thought myself, post it again. It's worth!! And I'm lazy to write some info here so schwupp, here's info from punk77: "What a witty name! (not) Ben Brierley, who was in the Vibrators and The Front for a short time plays all the instruments, and Heathcote Williams provides what can only be described as 'interesting' lyrics on this artifact. Its okayish...a bit overlong... and a bit ...well stupid. Claims to have a different version on each side of the single but I've never worked it out. The lyrics are underneath...What were they on????!!!. Sid Did It/Sid Did It (Radio Version), 1979 Truth Records. One of several Sid songs that came out at the time including The Surgeons and Cash Pussies. Heathcote's poetry seems to feature a lot of sexual violence themes. To sample perhaps the best of his stuff set to music try the awesome 'Why D'ya Do It' on the album Broken English by Marianne Faithfull." Nice one!

V/A - Rejected Volume III 2002

I'm doing always heavy with newfangled punk rock and the most flies fast into the garbage but this compilation is a fine compilation of old and newer material from various UK and Irish bands that Rejected has put out over the years. I like more the dirty shredded sound and dislike the clean productions of the new breath and here I am positive surprised because all the songs kick fantastic and are very powerful at all, garnished with a few live goodies and unreleased recordings to that, and when I have this feeling by the first listen so I can't be wrong (mostly). Less than 25% are known to me (Oi Polloi, Leatherface, Jesse, Zero Tolerance) and I know if my friend from Austria share his stuff with me it can be only cool. As lousy reviewer everything is said. Pick up or drink milk.

DIRT SHIT - Rattenloch EP 1979

Dirt Shit stands in the first row of austrian punk bands. Born in 1978, with Robert "Räudig" of Chuzpe who left after one or two live shows, was this band maybe the most complete punk package that was (perhaps forever!?) available in the country of the lovely "Wiener Sängerknaben". At the peak of Dirt Shit, that was Roli "Rostig" Übereuter, Berni "Bedenklich" (questionable) Tragut, Michi "Monoton" and Ronnie "Urini" Iraschek, they could cause a pogo orgy whenever they charged the stage. The songs where fast, the guitars where dirty and the vocals where catchy and violent. Michi had never sung the same lyrics, and improvised at every show, which worked until he was done on stage. In 1979 they could have had an appearance in an austrian b-movie "Exit-Nur keine Panik" [Exit-Don't Panic]. But they where knocked out because of a quarrel with the producer(s), althought the songs for the movie where already recorded. After a threat to sue by the band, the movie team gave them money to cut the four songs on 7'' vinyl (limited to 500 pieces). They only played a few gigs in Vienna and one in 1980 in Linz. The members were also active in other early Austrian punk and new wave bands (Mordbuben AG, Kleenex Aktiv and others). Drugs and alcohol resulted in the end of this band. THE NAMES - Too Cool To Dance EP 1980

Awesome powerpop 7inch by this three piece combo from Herne Bay in Kent, members: John (guitar + vox), Steve (bass + vox) and Russell (drums). They released this cool three song killer EP only in Germany on GeeBeeDee records. No other vinyl is known to exist except two tracks on the First Offenders compilation on Criminal Records. Why is this so?, I don't know because this little piece of vinyl is a damn catchy one, brisk mid-tempo powerpop mixed with a decent pinch of punk and the guitars cut out everything. I guess the labels have slept here extremely to take this band under contract and give them more options - Idiots!!! The power they had, and even after more than 30 years, the songs sound fresh and put some other band easy in the pocket. Pflichtdownload!
