GÖTEBORG SOUND - s/t LP 2019

Göteborg Sound was an early Swedish Punk band who released a series of superb 7Inches in the late Seventies and this Compilation on Bengans Records is limited and numbered to 300 copies (Record Store Day 2019) and features the Singles (1978-1979), live in Studio (1979) and a goodie which was recorded 21.10.1977 at Sanna Hemvärnsgård and that means, all their great numbers are gathered on this record, nice idea, and yes: GBG Sound were pioneers and an absolutely important part of the Swedish underground scene and wrote fantastic, fast and aggressive songs, and those who own the original singles, take those into your grave or pass them to your children, because it would be a shame if they ended up going in the trash at some point.

AKTION SÄGEWERK - Ödi Blödi Kinderficker 1998

Rare album by this three piece from Buchen and Aktion Sägewerk released their first record in 1993, plus a demo tape and the following albums were all only released as CD and are exclusively distributed by the band themselves and pressed on their own label Spanplatte, a real family dynasty. The songs are almost all from the demotape (except one) and whoever thinks this is just a pure Funpunk combo is wrong. On the contrary, the trio resolutely exudes socially critical, personal and sometimes funny lyrics, and the level is consistently high and musically, they're absolutely great. Short crisp numbers that romp around for less than two minutes, melodic and excellently spiced. Solid D-Punk and a real insider tip!

MORDBUBEN AG - Angst Vorm Rock'n Roll? 1980

Yesterday was an exciting match and unfortunetaly with the happy ending for Leipzig, but deserved in the end and it was good to meet my old buddy again. Let's come now to an older rip I did in 2011 but somehow the slab fell into oblivion but I redid the scans, the old ones sucked. We travel to beautiful Vienna and meet one of the first austrian Punk bands ever, the Mordbuben AG and they made four 7Inches, one full-length and guests on lots of Compilations, their songs have a perfect dose of untypical loud & rough Punk'N'Roll with magical Viennese dialect. The AG were formed 1978 and were, along with Chuzpe, the most essential band of the Viennese Punk scene and on this bloody record the band consisted of Wörndi (vocals), Fredi (guitars), Hardy (drums). Ten great tracks you can listen here and you definitely don't have to be afraid because it contains exactly what you want. Highly recommended is the release on RaveUp Records Mia Woan De Stören which was released in 2018 in a limited edition of 350 copies (partly on green vinyl) with songs from the singles and other rare material. Enjoy the sound, the sun and Sunday!

V/A - Blitz Hits 2LP 1989

An interesting Compilation with bands connected to the Blitz culture centre in Oslo. Sides A & B are Punk/Hardcore dominated, side C is mostly experimental and side D features female artists. I would say thoroughly listenable and a decent audio document of the Norwegian underground culture which had a lot of good protagonists and was/is very diverse. The cover design is also worth seeing, and a 12-page special edition of the "Smørsyra" newspaper is included but I didn't scan it. This album present almost ninety minutes of varied songs that offers space for new and well-tried, and reveal music that doesn't fit into a drawer. Enough now, because the big day is today, there's still time for a vinyl rip and then off to the buddy.

DISTORTED TRUTH - Victim Of The Law EP 1989

Distorted Truth is a three piece combo from Glasgow and they played gigs around Scotland since 1982. The band released their first 7Inch Victim Of The Law on Green Vomit Records in 1989 and on the flip is one of their best and well known street Punk anthems "Party Political Bullshit!". Very underrated and often confused with Australian Distorted Truth. The line-up consisted of Alan (vocals/guitar), David (bass) and Kevin (drums). Their influences stem from bands such as The Clash & Stiff Little Fingers. In addition to the grandiose EP, they contributed a song on a 7Inch Compilation on BPG Records (1991) and before that they released their debut album Smashed Hits which was pressed via Link Records.

PARTY FORCE - s/t EP 2015

It's really amazing how life kicks ass at irregular intervals. This weekend, Saturday evening to be precise, is the DFB-Cup final, a highlight for me and my girlfriend, and we were really looking forward to this evening together, but it's canceled now, I'm bedridden with a fever and a sore throat, thirty degrees outside, she's in the hospital for some fucking glandular organ. Of course, health comes first blah blah blah etc..... but moments like this are rare and if you don't get them, it upsets me. Well, fuck it! First post in June is the debut 7Inch with five rippers by Party Force from Oakland, line-up Ref (vocals/bass), Brian (guitars), Hal (drums). I bought their record at a concert where they support, I think the UK Subs but I'm not sure, ist auch scheißegal, coole Single with fast loud stuff. Enjoy!

RUGRAT - Rhubarb EP 1994

Rugrat were active in the Nineties and were founded by Graeme (vocals/guitars), Ian (bass), Andrew (drums) and they released two 7Inches, this is the first one and we listen to three melodic aggressive goodies which remind me a bit of Leatherface or Snuff but a little more fine played, the Rugger Bugger Discs label stands for solid English melodic emo Punkrock and it's only natural that they released their EP there. I think, I bought the record from on a record fair for a few bucks and I think it's worth every cent (the cover alone was worth the investment). Legal threats due to the band name's similarity to Nickelodeon's animated "Rugrats" series led to a name change to Bulltacofrom this formation exist a tape and a singleA total of six interesting minutes, packed into three songs and I wish my sore throat from yesterday would go away just as quickly.

ANTI-NOWHERE LEAGUE - Complete 7Inches Collection 1995

The Anti-Nowhere League is an essential staple of the English Punkrock movement and one of my favourite bands because I like their provocative attitude and since 1980 they've made it clear live and with every album that you shouldn't piss on them. And the debut from 1982 We Are...The League is one of the best UK Punk Records in my opinion. This Compilation from Anagram Records features all their A and B sides from the early days and includes all their hit singles and is an ingenious journey through time and reflects the energy and hardness of the four in all pores of vitality and the Anti-Nowhere League is a band committed to offending people. '[We Won't] Remember You' is a strong statement and I don't know any band that such words interpreted, they don't give a shit if you like them or not and that feeling turns me on and exactly such bands are needed to kick the ass of lame new monotonous combos, Hell Yeah! and if you rediscover the gents, this CD is a good start and I recommend you: buy their fucking records and pogo until the shit squirts out of your brain and I promise, you'll feeling the 100% perfect mood!  - And now I'm going out with my girl into the sun. 🌞 🍺 👽

RESISTORS - Tiny Scars 1990

Founded 1988 in Friedrichshafen by Markus (vocals/bass), Joachim & Torsten (guitars), C.B. Wecker (drums), and Tiny Scars is the interesting debut of the Resistors and they don't just play simple music, they blend a healthy mix of Hardrock, Punk and a bit of metal into a decent sound. I know, I have their 7Inch Your Fascist Mind but can't find this sucker anymore and a rip as well, but that's not tragic because both songs are on this slabTheir songs sometimes reach a span of six minutes and captivate with their solid guitar playing and catchy melodies. They also have a certain personal sharpness in their lyrics and set all this compactly and dynamically and the four like to prove their musical skills in front of an enthusiastic audience. Two more albums followed until 1995, a few Compilation invitations, and since then they have only been on the road sporadically, as time permits. Very good record and I like it, not only short & dirty (I think, the album also caters for this faction) and for all, who would like to discover something 'different'. Tip!

V/A - Kalt Wie Eis 1981

Soundtrack slabs are rare on wdthtc, but this record is interesting because of the movie of the same name: Kalt Wie Eis (Cold As Ice) is a hard-hitting NewWave thriller that picks up on the Black Series Hollywood movies of the 1930s, and the movie itself is worth seeing and the music as well. A short description of what's aboutMike is fed up with everything and everyone. Just eighteen years old, he initially quit the apprenticeship as a car mechanic because his master supposedly acted stupidly on him. Then there is constant trouble with the grumbling parents who don't like his lifestyle. The young man leaves his previous life behind, uncompromising and radical. However, the newly won "freedom" doesn't get him any further: binges in Kreuzberg's neighborhood pubs and women's stories, which don't really satisfy him either. Things don't seem to change until Mike meets Corinna, a dark-haired neighborhood beauty. But then Mike finally takes the wrong path and his existence threatens to get out of hand. As the smallest light in a gang, he fixes stolen motorcycles and is promptly caught: juvenile prison and another downward spiral are the consequences. Corinna, who promised to wait for him, is now visiting less and less. Mike's anger boils and he decides to break out of prison. After his successful escape cost the life of a policeman, the petty criminal has become a dangerous criminal for the authorities, and the blond rebel begins to be hunted down. Betrayed by his gang buddies, who in turn believe he ratted them out to the police, Mike begins to run amok. An excess of violence, born of general frustration with life, can no longer be stopped and Mike takes bloody and explosive revenge on his former buddies. Interesting story, and the soundtrack offers a decent selection of different German interpreters whose range was attractive to me at the time, of course after more than forty years some things sound lame and diverse, but I think the record is a nice part of this time and has good songs stocked..... and now the 2023 Bundesliga final.
