EASY ACTION - Honcho Bongo 7'' + Om Jag Vore Kung (Över Hela Världen) 7'' 1982

One more double feature in this theatre and we turn down two gears. Easy Action was a Swedish glam rock band from Stockholm which were formed 1981 by Pelle Almgren, Bosse Belsen & Björne Froberg. They managed to earn attentive from Stranded Records which released their debut 7'' Honcho Bongo which didn't sell well and they got another try with their second one “Om Jag Vore Kung (If I Were King)”. Shortly after the release, the band broke up. Easy Action was reorganized in 1983 by Greg Belsen (now called Zinny Zan) together with Kee Marcello and Peo Thyrén. They changed their style to glampunk rock and had a Sweet-influenced sound and the debut album was released in 1983 and they were no longer interesting for the punkz (I speak only for me).

Here we have their first two records and they're pretty well, more punk-oriented sound and certainly the metal aroma tastes a bit, and all the four tracks worth listen to, where the short songs rather meet my taste. The first 7Inch has two four minutes goodies while the second comes with two short smasher. Zinny released in 2002 a CD called City Boy Blues on Fastlane Fecords with eleven hard rock goodies and also the other members released records in other bands and continue to play music. US hair metal superstars Poison used the chorus of Easy Action's 1983 single "We Go Rocking" in their hit single "I Want Action" which led to the members of Easy Action suing the American band and winning a financial settlement in the case. They reunited for a gig at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2006. This was followed by several shows in late 2007, including opening for Twisted Sister. In April 2008, the band went in the studio with producer Chris Laney to record a new studio album. In 2011 bassist Michael Grimm died. On December 18, 2018 Easy Action was confirmed to play at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2019. The concert will include a live performance of the album That Makes One in its entirety, performed by the line-up that recorded it, including vocalist Tommy Nilsson and guitarists Kee Marcello and Chris Lind. - So give them high five!

IMPACT & EU'S ARSE - Split EP 1983

Superb split EP from the european mediterranean boot. The first side kicks off with Impact from Ferrara and together with Raw Power, Rappresaglia and Stigmathe, they belong to the pillars of the Italian hardcore scene. In business throughout the eighties, the group broke up at the beginning of the nineties, after the last publications, in which they had undergone a change of sound that disappointed the fans and partly also the same members of the group but they back with a series of concerts, Paul Root (vocals), Stefano "Janz" Ragazzi (guitars), Bistek (bass) and Alberto "Gigo" Gigante (drums). In 1983 they started collaborating with Eu's Arse, which results in this self-produced Split EP. On these recordings 'Infa' appears for the first time on the mic & they earned positive reviews of the San Francisco Maximumrocknroll fanzine, which monthly held a column on the international hardcore scene. In 1984 they were then invited by Dave Dictor from MDC to participate in the double P.E.A.C.E. Benefit compilationIn 1985 Impact released via Chaos Produzioni their debut Solo Odio with ten energetic, political smasher, today one of the most representative of Italian hardcore. In the ensuing tour, the group followed various changes of formation that found stability with the passage of Bistek to the voice and the entry of Diego Fabbri, previously a member of Total Disarmament. Two 7Inches followed, 1990 the second album Tutto Tace but record does not receive the approval of the previous ones, triggering a spiral that will lead the group to the dissolution in 1992.

Eu's Arse from Udine were formed in the early eighties and together with Upset Noise they were among the most important groups of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia scene. The band take their name from the name assigned to the Italian punks from European and English punks, and consisted of Stefano (vocals), Teo (guitars), Gianluca (bass) and Luca (drums). In 1982 they participated in the Spring Offensive festival at the Virus Social Center in Milan, then immediately publishing their first EP Lo Stato Ha Bisogno Di Te? Bene, Fottilo. The record was supported by the New Fahrenheit fanzine. In 1983 this split EP. In a review of Maximumrocknroll describes the sound as "a combination of repetitive Discharge matrix riffs combined with an unpleasant sounding voice reminiscent of a poet in the throes of furious madness". After a long tour and numerous training changes, the group broke up in 1985. So that's the story, now music!

WEIRDOS - We Got The Neutron Bomb 7'' 1978

A classic record now and I know you know this. The second 7Inch by the Weirdos on Dangerhouse with two killers. A bit stolen info: the Weirdos were formed 1976 in Los Angeles and broke up in 1981 and recorded new material in the 1990s. The band was formed by singer John Denney and his brother Dix on guitar; they were the only constant members, though guitarist/bassist Cliff Roman, bassist Dave Trout and drummer Nickey "Beat" Alexander were relatively long-term Weirdos. They were originally an art rock band formed in 1976, and were featured in a news article featuring punk rock groups in Time magazine and so the "punk" label stuck. They're still active and that's good.

ETIQUETTE MONA - Amsterdam 7'' 1980

Another power pop punk band from Motala/Sweden and they were active in the hazy days of punk rock and new wave, 1978-1981. A very obscure private release of 500 copies (at the most) without sleeve. This was their one and only release. They played live frequently in the local area of Ostergotland. And they are great. Two classic kbd numbers, short dirty songs without compromise. So should be punk songs. The band moved to Stockholm and disbanded in 1981. If they would recorded an album, it would probably become a killer for sure.

RAZORS - 1977 EP 2004

Formed 1977 in Hamburg, the Razors are a german punk band from the first hour. With interruptions and changes in the composition the band is still active. Feller, God & Schwabe began together in the summer of 1977 continue under the influence of the emerging wave of punk music. Till May 1978 they rehearsed without a singer. With Danker was a singer found. He stayed only three days to rehearse the set until the first real concert. This took place during the Grünspan-concert series in Hamburg. The Razors were now actively contributing to the environment of the Krawall 2000, one of the important early punk stores in Hamburg. There they played regularly. Their debut single 'Christ Child/Enemy' appeared in 1979 of the band itself was produced and distributed. The next two releases were published by the Cologne label Rock-O-Rama. 1981 the band broke the contract with Rock-O-Rama and changed to Konnekschen for two publications. The singer left the band to henceforth take care of his children and Lui from Napalm took the vocals for some concerts. The Razors remained in this formation. The band broke up soon after on lack of perspective. 2003 its the reunion of the band and in 2004 this single was released with new footage on Klartext Records. Guitarist Andreas Schwabe died in December 2010 a few weeks after his 50th birthday. At his funeral, the Band Napalm plays a reunion concert. The Razors stand for brilliant '77 style punkrock and they not lost after twenty years their aggressiveness and power. Great record!

BEERDIGUNG & TOLLWUT - Split LP 1981

Let's go to Munich and meet two combos that were active in the early 80's. Beerdigung were Yelka (vocals), The Happy Gravedigger (guitars/bass), Dr. Fix (drums) and their first sign of life is a song at the Nur Hits tape compilation on Tape Trust/Rotbäckchen Records. Gruft Records became attentive and ordered the band into the studio and eleven songs were selected for this record. For the flip the label contacted Tollwut, they already had a great EP on Blizz Blatten out and the album was complete. Tollwut was founded 1976 (under the name The Dirty Rats) and recorded in autumn 1976, initially under the name The Spiders and The Hard Rose several recordings of experimental music, which were released as cassettes in short run. From 1978 they played Punk with English lyrics. Renamed into Tollwut the band played a number of gigs in clubs, cellars, squats, autonomous centers and festivals. In 1982, the band officially disbanded, but actually renamed themselves the Comics and published under this name from 1983 to 1993 nine albums with first German, from 1986 English lyrics. In 1997, they once again teamed up in honor of their deceased friend Simon "Seventy" Buchberger (former singer of the Munich band Scum), recorded two songs and performed again. In 2011 there was a live reunion in the Munich Theatron with members of various occupations from the 80s and 90s. The band also wrote songs about the political action group Freizeit 81, which originated as Tollwut from the Munich scene. In 1997, a sampler appeared under the title Freizeit ’81, EP’s aus München - Die Mutter aller Sampler! on Schlecht & Schwindlig. - Now have fun with twenty-eight minimalist Gassenhauer, direct announcements which most of the newer bands can't do.

ULTRAVOX! - Ha! Ha! Ha! 1977

Recently my girlfriend and I talked about known bands of our youth and the name of the following band from London was interspersed by me. She said: "Sure, I know.... Vienna etc..." and I immediately visited youtube and played her the old stuff from Ultravox! and she was amazed. Of course, with Midge Ure came a new sound that made it into the charts and they became known. I mean, the records aren't bad, but the old stuff is more my cup of tea. So this is the second album by Ultravox! on Island Records and is together with their first, my favorite album. Fourteen punky songs, ingenious guitar playing, catchy rhythms, nice keys.... in a word: masterpiece! In 1979, John Foxx left after an American tour to pursue solo projects, with Simon also departing. Currie, Cross and Cann were subsequently joined by Midge on vocals and guitar. This became the most successful and well-known, 'classic' 80s line-up. I recommend you, look for the first three albums and listen to the pre-phase, you will be excited.

DESCONTROLADOS - Aburrimiento EP 1988

In some countries, punk rock came years later, for example: Ecuador, it took even more than ten years, 1987 the Descontrolados were formed as the first punk band in this country and one year later they published a 12'' in a limited edition of 300 copies, with four extremely fresh, raw, melodic punk smasher from the style that could also originate from the late '70s, the band was very influenced by '77 style and outfit - they wear a dead mouse as an earring, or side parting combined with Hitler's snout, or a casual U.S. style dark glasses. Musically, the Descontrolados go versed extremely to work, in addition to short to the point brought punk rock guitar solos, a murderous bass line and rock-hard drums, is for example 'Pobre Charles Darwin', a short, wild sax solo-installed, and the action-packed 'Repression Policial' with a background noise of sirens to sound whipping shots accompanied - this absolutely gorgeous alternating between the punk rock and a broken rockabilly guitar sound. That same year another colored 12'' more New Wave influenced was released by the band, but after the shot of the charismatic singer the band disintegrated.

CHRIST ON PARADE - Sounds Of Nature 1985

Last grenade for today and what a blast. I remember having this record, but it too has disappeared, I believe lent and never seen again, I wasn't very careful with my records that time (I realize again). Well, afterwards you know it always better. A bit info from wiki: Christ On Parade was a mid-late 1980s San Francisco East Bay political hardcore punk band, formed in 1985 by ex-members of Teenage Warning and peace punks Treason. Their debut, Sounds Of Nature was issued on Pusmort Records. The group featured vocalist Barrie Evans, guitarists Mike Scott and Noah Landis, bassist Malcolm Sherwood, and drummer Todd Kramer. Some members lived in the East Bay's legendary New Method Warehouse and they played shows with the Subhumans, Agnostic Front, Circle Jerks and Conflict. Christ On Parade headlined the first-ever show at Berkeley's long-running 924 Gilman venue. They were an explicitly political band and their song America The Myth questioned the United States' foreign policy at the time, while they dedicated Landlord Song to the owner of the New Method Warehouse. With three of the members deep into skateboarding, their music was included on a compilation cassette issued by Thrasher magazine, "Thrasher Skate Rock Vol. 3". Mike Scott left the band in 1986 and was replaced by guitarist Doug Kearney, and in late 1987 bassist Ron Nichols replaced the departing Sherwood. The group officially disbanded in 1989 after touring Europe. Landis would later form Blister (also with Kearney) before joining Neurosis in the mid 1990s. Evans formed psychobilly group the Hellbillys. Mike Scott joined Arkansas ex-pats Econochrist. Nichols formed Grinch after Christ On Parade broke up.

In 2008 the original line-up of Christ On Parade reunited for a tour of Europe and the west coast of the U.S., returning to play two nights at 924 Gilman Street, the famous punk club in Berkeley, CA where the band headlined the very first show December 31st, 1986. 2009 saw the band tour Japan and they toured the western U.S., most likely their final tour, in 2010.

Eleven songs on a high level, nothing to moan... awesome!
