SOPHISTICATED BOOM BOOM - s/t LP 1982

From Büren came this Girlie-Pop-Punk band and this is their only record which was released by the well-known swiss label Off Course Records in 1982. The sound is here suported by Buzz, Netz and Pasquale from SOZZ. The band play a simple poppy sound with a few snotty numbers (Beat Girls). I must say that not all songs are burners and partly the whole album is a bit too lame for me but that's with all things I think a matter of taste. Fourteen songs unconcerned, cozy, bubbling with few highlights, fun and love of life (well, there comes better noises from Swiss). About the band so I can't say much but I think they broke up shortly after this release. Check this out for yourselfs!

- Special Thx to K.H.S. -

COCKS IN STAINED SATIN - Welcome To The Trasher Dome 1985

Welcome To The Trasher Dome is the first 12Inch from the Cocks after their glorious Vollsuff EP, released on X-Mist Records in white vinyl. Eight excellent melodic punk nuggets in fifteen minutes. With this album they manifest their sound in the '77 style, short goodies with tempo and lot's of singalongs. Lyrically quite offensive, as always. 'We Are Deaf And You Are Sick', 'I Don't Care' and 'Go To Hell' are noticeably. Too bad that they gained little notoriety beyond Ffm but now in our modern times also the punks overseas take notice and when I remeber right was this a request from there. So here it is!

DIE ANGST - 1000 Jahre EP 2009

Die Angst is the follow up of the punk band L.S.K. and they at home in a very dark gloomy sound. They released a five track demo CD called "Die Angst Kennt Deinen Namen" which was released on their own label Moon Records in 2004 in a small edition. Slowly it going, a few gigs followed and in 2009, Thought Crime Records released this three track EP and the label stopped the distribution one week after release. Why, read here the statement von Thought Crime Records: "Due to information that has been brought to my attention now, I have decided to stop selling the EP by German band Die Angst that just recently was released on Thought Crime Records. The reason is that I found out that one member of the band also plays in a very dodgy Dark Wave band called Sonne Hagal. As I now discovered, Sonne Hagal is pretty big in the German Dark Wave scene, playing to audiences of a few hundred up to 1000+. I have no idea what percentage of their audience you could call right wing or straight up fascist, but it's certain that they have some sort of Nazi following.

They have played with Fire and Ice, Ian Read's (ex Death In June) new band. Ian Read is an open right winger and sort of key figure in the Dark Wave Nazi/Fascist sub-scene. He also appears on one of Sonne Hagals records. As far as Die Angst, I know all three members of the band come from an anti-fascist, left-wing background.

I have no idea how one of them manages to live in such a schizophrenic situation though. Whatever his reasons might be, it's pretty fucked up. I don't think any of the lyrics or band politics of Die Angst are questionable at all. I just don't want to be associated with anything a band like Sonne Hagal does, so it's obvious thatI don't want to support another band that shares a member with them. I decided to leave the mp3 on the website for a while, mainly to give you better picture. That's it for now."

I think that's a little excessive because Die Angst is a damn good German punk band and deserves more attention. Well, another method to make records rare. Speak your mind!

ZER-BIZIO? - Sentimientos Y Venganzas 1986

This afternoon starts the new soccer season of the Eintracht with a friendly match versus a Spanish club: Celta Vigo. Perfect time to watch the Iberian peninsula and visit Bilbao in the Basque country. There were formed in the 80s Zer-Bizio?, a punk combo who participated in the musical movement known as Basque radical rock. Their songs are a decent mix of punk, ska and rock. They were like some of their contemporaries like Eskorbuto, La Polla Records, Kortatu etc... the forerunners of what is now the Basque Rock and part of the current musical history of the region and Zer-Bizio's music also came to the American continent, influencing groups of Mexico and Argentina, among others. The lyrics are characterized by aggressiveness and personal frustrations, sexual and psychological transgression, social, political commitment, personal and political violence speak; letters with cuts simplistic nature and rebellious adolescence. This debut record on Discos Suicidas is full with nineteen damn cool killer punk goodies and was to date not re-released on CD, long live vinyl - Top album in every way!

V/A - Compilation Vol.1 1989

Now an underground compilation with much curious stuff. Besides the well-known bands such as Inferno, MFD, Bobwire and A.K.P. are here mostly young unknown German bands exclusively represented, and the sound range from rehearsal room recordings, studio and live cuts. Sometimes full of noisy tones which reminds me of cut a tree down, you know. The musical range goes from melodic punk to hardcore, one great wave song and always with a good portion tempo under the ass. Probably appeared in small copies and unfortunately no detailed information inside, hmm, that's something I don't like but fuck it! records are made to listen to it and not for read. I've bought the vinyl at the last record fair here and do not regret it. So here stands Volume 1 but I think a sequel was never released. Enjoy the music!

1.Happiness - IMAGES
2.Skater - LOVE LOCKS
3.Rotten Fruits - CRY OF TERROR
4.Leben (Live) - A.K.P.
5.Gnut Of Today - SEHIRLI GNUT
6.Storm - M.F.D.
7.Deutschland - ENTWARNUNG
8.Your's Not Mine - X-WOOLHEAD
9.Leaflets On The Shower-Ground - CONCRETE UNDERPASS
10.Country Roads - JOHN DENVER CLAN
11.Are They Nothing - INFERNO
12.Most Of You (Live) - BAD ATTITUDE
13.1986 - BOBWIRE
14.Jesus Fucking Christ - INVISIBLE VIOLENCE
15.Fistful Of... - ANAL FIST
16.Loss - THORNS
17.A...Total (Machos Fuck Off) - BARSCHELS UNTERHOSEN
18.Drifting Away - SKYLIGHT

SLAM - Ingens Slav 1984

Slam was formed 1982 in Gävle/Sweden by five skaters who shared a common music interest, but with none or little band experience. They started as Destroy with their first gig at Paletten Sätra, after rehearsing only for some weeks. About a year later their first recordings released as a tape in January 1983. They were active playing most local and national gigs. Their records were on their own label and sold by independent distributors all over. Their first full length album came in 1984 called Ingens Slav. In 1985 they appeared with a track for the american skate magazine Thrashers skaterock vol.3 compilation "Wild Riders Of Boards". Same year they were also participating on the compilation of european punk bands called Chaos In Europe, on the French New Rose label. Slam split in 1987 and played their last show at the now defunct Ungdomshuset in Copenhagen. - Excellent Scandinavian Punkrock. -

RF7 - All You Can Eat 1995

This one's from the Wanted-List and I'm happy to have this finally. This CD is a compilation from early records and it's called Volume 1 (Details in the file). A litte info from wikipedia: "RF7 is a long-lived, southern California punk rock band that began in 1979 by Felix Alanis and small time child star of the Sheriff John show Nick Lamagna. Felix also began the record label Smoke Seven Records and signed his band and many others who were ignored by the big labels then, such as Bad Religion, JFA, Crank Shaft, Sin 34, Youth Gone Mad, etc. From the beginning, the RF7 sound was not clearly punk but really what would be called today hardcore punk. Felix Alanis has always mixed middle class virtues with strange religious imagery in his lyrics. Nick Lamagna added guitar and music that had a twist more "rock" than some punks preferred. Walt Phelan added a drummer's drumming, and the bass player seemed to always change, with Robert Armstrong perhaps being the most solid recorded bass man from 1980–83, and again on 1990's classic Traditional Values album." And a review: "Musically to the point is absolute no melodic here, not Orange County or stuff like this, rather coarse HC/punk sound à la Germs. Music from a time when punk rock, especially destruction was ("Punk then what about taking speed, waiting in line, bumming change, drinking, and if all went well, a really big fight," said Nick LaMagna of RF7) and songs, which was titled "Violence" and just sounded." More in an interview can be read here. I say, this sound is fuckin' delicious at a boring day.

DE HØJE HÆLE ‎- Skal Vi Aldrig Videre? 2010

De Høje Hæle (The High Heels) is a punk rock group from Copenhagen and were formed in 2007. Rarely has a Danish debut album been more anticipated than this. This continues musically where their amazing first s/t EP left off, with more infectious insanely catchy punk rock tunes. Maximum Rock'n'Roll had this to say in their review: "Party DEVO, Party '70s powerpop, Party '60s garage-punk party dane. Soooooooo catchy" and Soundvenue called it "A goofy and a masterful candidate for this year's Danish album." - Visit their MySpace site for more info. - This edition is limited to just 200 copies and was only be sold at their release-party for the album in Copenhagen. An awesome album that makes fun and shock your neighbours.

VONBRIGÐI - Kakófónia 1983

We get a bit darker and wavier now with this combo from the far north of Europe, into the land of geysers, ice, unspoiled landscapes and snow: Vonbrigði from Reykjavík, The band was founded in 1980 by brothers Árni (guitar) and Þórarinn Kristjánsson (drums) and Gunnar E. Knudsen (bass). Shortly thereafter, singer Jóhann Vilhjálmsson came to. The band lasted until 1983. During this time they released two platten, the debut record Vonbrigði and the mini-album Kakófónía. This on Gramm records has seven so called post-punk goodies in luggage and I can't write more because I'm so fuckin' hungry and I need a damn good breakfast but it remains to be said, this is an excellent record! Now I will leave home to get a delicious goodie... enjoy the weekend and stay wild!
