V/A - It's A Youth Explosion! Vol.2 2021

Second volume in the series and more corking unreleased and rare blasts by rather unknown UK bands from 1978 - 1984 on Heavy Soul Records and this compilation was also published as limited edition, how many is not specified, I guess 500 or 1000 copies. And as on Volume 1, again fourteen lost masterpieces come together that amaze and delight us all. Especially when it's freezing cold outside and many are punished with a fucking flu or something like that, like me (no taste for anything sucks), and the only thing left is to stay on the couch or in bed, but there is no room for boredom and it quickly gets better with lively music, the best medicine. In addition, the World Cup is just as entertaining and provides a welcome change, but tea and pills are not standard. Fuck it, it will pass as well. Enjoy the music wherever you are. Cheers!

V/A - Punk Rock Rarities Vol.2 1996

And immediately the second and final part of the Punkrock Rarities by Anagram and the spirit of this CD is the same as the previous one. It brings us again closer to rare 7inches by lesser known or short lived bands from the British Isles, and giving them the respect they deserve. Together with Vol.1 they form an absolute glimpse of what was happening on the fringes of the big bands and the scene was anything but tired. Music that does its deserved rounds and is a perfect introduction to the UK subculture for all newcomers and dirty old freaks like me. Enjoy!

BRAYING BOREDOM - s/t EP 2002

Somehow today is a strange day, I feel tired, demotivated and almost drunk and that although I digitized a fantastic record and already had breakfast, so what the fuck? Well, let's come to a band that will surely only say something to users from Germany (but others should also take a sniff here)Braying Boredom is a four piece from Saxony-Anhalt and were Jens (vocals/guitars), Fittsche (guitars), Bruce (bass), Stick (drums)The band itself describes their music as "Punk with German lyrics, extremely emotional and now and then mercilessly poppy sounds" and the influence of well-known bands from my country can't be denied, you surely guess which ones are meant. Learn from the BEST or let them influence you! A few EP's and two albums were released and after a small line-up change the band is now called Peppone and like to play on boat tripsThis is their second 7Inch (nice cover isn't it) with four melancholy single-seaters, donated by UTH Records.
I think, I piss off with a quiet exit.

THE USERS - Now That It's Over 7'' 1979

One more raritiy from Love Child now and they are always welcome on wdthtc, 250 copies exist from this two sided killer and a few words: "We've got our own individual style. Most punk bands are the same as the Ramones... its pathetic. ..The basic ingredients of rock'n'roll are sex drugs and frustration, If we can getamps and get on stage, that's all.  Its a big V sign from us to you." The Users - Chainsaw 5 March/April 1978. - "The Users were from Cambridge and formed in September 1976. Their sound was a mixture of The Stooges, New York Dolls, Rolling Stones and the Sex Pistols. Young and with attitude - plenty of it. Other songs included Russian Roulette, Heart To Heart, Bad Decision, Slow Death (Flaming Groovies) Louie Louie, Moving In A Fast Lane and Red Hot Rag. Cambridge was also home to Lee Wood and his record shop. "..members of The Users, who had been in the shop before, asked me if I could spare the time to come and hear them rehearse. I went along and they were a five piece. I can't remember the details but somehow we decided to make a record together." Lee Wood Punk77 Interview. More details on punk77 and more Kicks In Style are guaranteed.

THE USERS - Kicks In Style 2011

"The Users burned with raw passion and youthful energy. Dirty, pure and very very powerful. Seeing them live was like being hit by a truck. In a good way" (Chris Roberts). That's an announcement or? The Users were from Cambridge and formed in September 1976 and have released two outstanding singles up to their split in 1979 and this litte compilation from Rave Up Records contains their best recordings including some great unreleased studio tracks and is long out of printQuick info: In 1977, Cambridge record dealer Lee Wood founded Raw Records, and quickly recorded The Users in March of the year, releasing the single Sick Of You/(I'm) In Love With Today on May 5, 1977. Sounds magazine stated that it "burns into your brain without compromise." Despite only releasing two singles and being active for less than three years, the band developed a lasting cult following. John Peel placed their first single Sick Of You in his chosen Festive Fifty chart of 1977, and after his death it was revealed that he'd kept it as part of his favourite singles of all time. I think, I can leave it that way and now feel the whispering energy out from your speakers.

V/A - Raw Deal! 1977

Still in a good mood this morning I continue with this cute black round nice one early UK punk stuff on Raw Records: "Twelve "Punk" tracks pressed from the Raw Tapes recorded in the last year. All bar one previously unissued. Recorded at Spaceward Studios, except track A4 recorded live. Produced for "Wall of Noise" Productions. Dedicated to all small labels, who are in it for the fun and glory, not just for the money." Fantastic kbd sounds without failure, twelve songs in twenty-eight minutes. Punk77 says: "Barring the first Roxy live album this compilation just reeks of Punk rock snottiness, teen angst dreams and burning bright bands caught in an explosion of rawness and innocence before the business and new trends changed or killed them off. No band here made more than 2 singles; in fact only two of them even made singles!...."

V/A - Raw & Rare British Punk #1 1997

Raw And Rare British Punk was a little serie of four compilations which came out end of the 90s on Raw Records, I think as bootlegs, but am not sure. Anyway, the idea is bring more rare UK punk smashers among the people and if I compare the Bloodstains and the numerous other records with rare UK punk so is in my opinion the potential of early GB Punk far from over. Let's start with # 1 and we find old friends which are already available here on the blog (Jerks, Pretty Boyd Floyd) and new stuff which I heard for the first time (Bee Bee Cee, Duggie Briggs Band). The title of the series is a bit irritating because it is far away from "Raw" Punk, it's more good ole '77 stuff but which makes it no less interesting. Well, somehow the shit has to be baptized. Safe is: very good song selection and gives me pleasure. Others will follow in this theater, good night!

V/A - Killed By Death 1989

With this record the Killed By Death (Motörhead 1984) serie is born and stands today for brilliant punkrock of the glory late 70s-early 80s days. Everyone knows today what is meant. This copy was released 500 times, later re-released without the Beastie Boys tracks. I guess, I'm not the only one who is grateful for this serie, and I think the makers have not thought it would so fuckin' bang in and become lots of followers. Sure, all these records are bootlegs and the bands never seen any royalties, you can think what you want, but I think it was a good idea because many bands don't exist or the members are out of sight. Anyway, ultimately offer the plates a fantastic overview of what was cool that time and the originals are long sold out and therefore a good thing. Well, let's see when there is a new release comin' along.

V/A - Flops Of The Pops 1991

Ohhh, what a great evening I had, thanks to my friends (which was magic). Well, it's a tradition that a lot of punk record labels (mostly german, for example: AGR, Weird System, Double AA, etc...) use for their first publication a compilation LP. It shows in what direction the label goes & they prefer and what we, the users, can expect. Incognito Records put out their debut LP in 1991 and with bands from all over this planet. The label is known for their awesome '77 punkrock classics and they're always up for a surprise. As far as I know all these songs were not anywhere published and therefore this is plate a rare piece of round black vinyl, containing a 16-page booklet and at lasta pretty D.I.Y. cover. The eyes are satisfied and I promise you the music does too!
