DE LYCKLIGA KOMPISARNA - Le Som En Fotomodell 1991

De Lyckliga Kompisarna often shortened DLK, were a Swedish punk band which were active from 1989-1997 and again since 2008. DLK was one of the bands that formed the "second punk wave" in the 1990s and this is their first album released via Birdnest Records. The driving force in was singer Mart, who over the years also played various instruments nad he formed DLK together with Björn. The name of the band was taken from a book about the cultural life of the Soviet Union: in a text a Soviet band called The Happy Gentlemen. In 1997 DLK finished its first active period with four gigs for three days at Café 44 in Stockholm. In early 2008, the band announced that it would be reunited with Mart, drummer Jouni who played on the band's first two albums, Roger (former guitarist of Total Egon) and Fredrik on guitar and they're still active. Enjoy fourteen fast fresh melodic pills plus yodelling.

VIA OFENZIVA - s/t LP 1983

This Slovenian short-lived punk band were active in early 80s and founded by Esad (voacls), Zoran (guitars), Ivo (bass) and Robert (drums) and their first release was a split tape with Čao Pičke in 1983. Musically influenced by punk and post-punk and they unfortunately made not a fuckin' vinyl album although they have recorded extreme catchy numbers and Nika Records/Arhefon released in 2006 a compilation with twenty-two 80s nuggets plus a DVD with three live performances around the 80s. So here we have thirteen excellent goodies and I don't know where I got this but they run out of my speakers and run and run and run.... Great Slovenian punk. - Ahhh, Saturday, soccer.....

DUM DUM BOYS - Let There Be Noise 1982

This morning, life is once again difficult and I feel empty and betrayed, you guessed right: Love... I will try to get somehow clear - We come rather to the West Auckland blue-collar punks The Dum Dum Boys and they copped their name from a Bowie song and their sound and attitude from The Stooges and first wave American punk. Founded 1980 by Anthony (guitar), Tony (vocals) and completed with Chris (bass) and Dean (drums). This album was released via Bondage Records and it was the first complete punk rock album by a New Zealand group and offers eleven catchy superbs, the right sound to forget your troubles and now exactly right for me. An unreleased second album Death or Glory was recorded, but with no shows and recognition sparse, the determined duo changed their name, but not their sound, becoming The Henchmen in late 1982. Found them on the rare Killed By Dentistry #1 compilation. Time for the first beer now.

TROMATISM - Je Ne Veux Plus Avoir Mal EP 1994

The only 7Inch by Tromatism, a French anarcho-punk group . The group was formed by Loran (ex Ze6 + Bérurier Noir) and Violette. They combine acerbic lyrics (against homophobia, the attitude of England against the Irish republicans, machismo, legalize drugs, rape... and we listen to four offensive tracks with large reinforcements of electric guitars on the bottom of a drum machine, where are added various instruments like a violin, a didgeridoo or a flute and I find they have the spirit of Alien Sex Fiend in their sound but far more angry and brachial. Their concerts were complemented by wild performances, mixing fire, water, mud, masks and tribal accessories. Six years later the English label Active Distribution released their album Une Saison En Enfer with fourteen classics, Tromatism split in 1999. Now enjoy finest electropunk with a glass of Chardonnay.

V/A - Papi, Queens, Reichkanzlers & Presidennti EP 1982

Weekend, Juhuu!! and we start with a fine compilation from Attack Punk Records with seven European bands. Irah from Bologna opens the musical breakfast with a five minute stomper, a good start for my taste, which the Bristolians Total Chaos seamlessly continue, only a bit faster and 5° Braccio from Turin close the logo side with a typical Italian two minute firecracker. The black side kick off with Berlins Stromsperre which give us a minute finest German hardcore, followed by Kaaos from Tampere who say just as fast good day. Once again Bologna where Sottocultura at home and they shoot sharp, caution! Kollettivo from Turin finish our small cruise with a delicious cheese sandwich. Now you know!

OPINIÃO PÚBLICA - No Sul Da Europa 1982

Opinião Pública (Public Opinion) was a Portuguese mod punk band from Lisbon and were founded 1981 by Carlos (vocals), Pedro (guitars), Luís (bass + keyboards) and Carlos B. (drums) in the midst of Boom Do Rock Português; the wave of emerging Portuguese rock bands. With the most important combo, the grandiose band UHF, they had a special relationship. They played lots of concerts with UHF and singer António produced their only album. The recordings became possible after an excellent gig @ the band competition of the Festival Só Rock in Coimbra 1981. The group released one 7Inch (Puto Da Rua) & this album, both on Rotação. While the single, similar to UHF's early releases, showed strong influences from Punkrock & Powerpop was the spectrum of the album's songs broader, and included rock and new wave songs. They played more concerts, mostly in the Lisbon area, with bands like Xutos & Pontapés, Rock & Vários and UHF and others. Well, the album was not really successful so the band dissolved in 1982 and some members of the band continued as musicians, Luís plays later in the pop band Entre Aspas. What remains is a beautiful album with ten shallow powerpop nuggets which can help at lovesickness or other personal differences.

Released by Adventure Records, I present you both compilations which are full with some punk/powerpop/rock tracks and we have twenty goodies together and Volume 2 is ripped by Fredrik while the first one I have loaded somewhere in Blogland. To the bands I can not say much because all of them unknown to me but I think they had more releases as well. In any case, both records are worth listen to and I like all goodies on it. Once more tasty Kötbullars from the heart of Sweden.

MARGINAL MAN - Identity 1984

Soon the Champions League is on T.V. but before, I wanna bring you closer to this brilliant record. Identity is the first release by Marginal Man from Washington, via Dischord, and they were founded by three members, Steve (vocals), Pete (guitars) and Mike (drums), of the recently defunct Artificial Peace. Andre (bass) and Kenny (guitars) completed 1983 the band. Marginal Man was one of the first DC hardcore bands to feature a two-guitar attack, as the original hardcore band member set-up featured a single guitar player. The band played together for five years and recorded this 12'' and two albums. They play a decent mid-tempo sound with really good emotional lyrics. I think my first touch with the band came with the very good Going Nowhere Slow compilation on Double A Records and 'Friend' is a first class song, since then I like the guys. On this slab are nine catchy outstanding goodies, lyric sheet enclosed and now soccer. - ENJOY!!

Further with an another essential compilation and I think from this serie exist ten volumes and of course we start with Volume Number One. Solid Swedish Hardcore, raw and sometimes live recordings, shows this double album the diversity of the musical underground scene in the iron ore land. Spoiled by the many KBD smashers here in this Blog goes this out to all speedy hardcore punks worldwide and it's hard to pick a favorite band. All tunes are great, no fuss it's pure impact.
