DIE GOLDENEN VAMPIRE - Hinter Der Grünen Tür 1982

Now such a real strange piece of vinyl from a time when musically in Germany all was possible. The Berlin label Zensor has consistently done produce and publish interesting records. Die Goldenen Vampire are a band that has stuck in the middle and pulled out their own thing. Remember doing the whole concept almost a little of the very early stuff from Der Fluch, but less punk, bands like Geisterfahrer and the Cramps may have left their influences. This also is a decent pinch of common rock and roll feel, so that a comparison with the later active Vampire State Building is not very far. Horror texts, NDW-Wave-Gothic-early music and a creepy cover art make me spontaneously much fun and I'm wondering if the band has released even more, and what happened to the musicians yet. Who likes the sound of Der Fluch of Geisterfahrer should take the drive and try this rare Mini-LP. The record is nowadays quite expensive, because you might not often find a copy in your hands. SUBTERRANEAN KIDS - Los Ojos De La Víctima 1987

All right, it's getting a bit faster with the Subterranean Kids, a Spanish hardcore punk band from Barcelona which were founded in 1985. They remained active until 1997, havin' published four albums and this is their debut on Patizambo Records, thirteen awesome shit numbers in twenty minutes, oh hell Yeah, this is European hardcore and they must not hide behind the American bands which are nevertheless unique in this genre. Inspired by the People To The Pit compilation which I post a few days ago, I search my hard-drive and can now post this genius hardcore classic for your deaf ears with a decent portion of white wine - Cool Shit!

V/A - Sacred Cattle EP 1993

One more nice surprise that arrived in the last days via email is this record from Existential Vacuum with previously unreleased Texas punk 1977-1982 in an edition of 600 copies. It took a bit to pull it (I'm very busy at the moment) but here it is. There stand lo-fi on the front but I understand something different, for example the Swiss band Abgas fits this description but all five goodies on this 7Inch are in my opinion excellent kbd stuff, all good recordings (the first track is a real smasher) and The Ejectors as well. A fuckin' great record! Get more early Texas Punk and enjoy!

-Extra Special Thx to hiroshima.mon.amour -

1.Participation - BOY PROBLEMS
2.Poor Sid - VAST MAJORITY
3.Duke Is Dead - VAST MAJORITY
4.Slam Dance - THE EJECTORS
5.Six Feet Under - NCM

V/A - Party Pooping Punk Provocations! 1985

A very nice evening comes to an end and as a coronation now this compilation from Xcentric Noise Records with eighteen rare UK punkrock stars. An amazingly good mix of different styles, almost every info in the insert and the only thing that bothered me is the Gelaber between the songs so I have simply deleted this shit because the plate is so more attractive and believe me, you will miss nothing because it's simply superfluous. To be honest, such shit really needs nobody. I did not know this record before (and I love compilations) and find it really felicitous. It stands Volume 1 on the front cover but a second part, to my knowledge, is not published.

- Special Thx for this to Mr.Fredrik -

DROWNING ROSES - Things Are Not The Same 1988

Very good debut record by this German combo from Minden, founded in 1985 by Zahni (bass), Prüse (guitars) and Marco (drums) from the predecessor bands Human Decay, Phalliuc Symbols and Neurotic Arseholes In 1986 the first demo cassette with eight songs was released and sold about 500 times. Drowning Roses played a lot of concerts including with Government Issue, Instigators and Spermbirds. In the spring of 1987 the band released their own produced Aus Forschung Und Technik EP in an edition of 1000 copies. In 1988, the Hamburg label Weird System drew attention to the band and released the first album "Things Are Not The Same". On 10.09.1988 began for Drowning Roses a one-month European tour with the unknown US punk band NOFX. In the course of the tour preparation the drummer Marco left the band and the first half of the performances was replaced with a drummer from Hamburg. This proved to be not tour-compatible, so the second half of the tour drummer Jeff from Hanau took place. Jeff also played drums on the split single with NOFX. A new drummer finds the band in early 1989 with Bart from Bielefeld. This line-up had their first gig on 10th March 1989 in Frankfurt, together with Nonoyesno. The second record "Youth Of Metropolis" comes in summer via Roseburg Records. In the summer of 1990 the band took a six-week tour by an invitation of Fat Mike together with NOFX. After this successful tour the band split up. On this album are twelve melodic punk numbers with very good lyrics.

ILL REPUTE - Oxnard-Land Of No Toilets EP 1983

Ill Repute is an American hardcore punk band from Oxnard, California, formed in 1981. They are noted for popularizing the "Nardcore" sound in the mid-1980s hardcore punk scene, and recorded for Mystic Records. The band wails, the guitar screams, the vocals are really snotty and impassioned, and the production has an edge that further accentuates all of these advantages. A wicked release that'll motivate you to try stage diving off of your kitchen table. Their record What Happens Next? (What Happened Then? on CD) holds high status in hardcore circles. It is notable for its cover of the 1970s pop music hit "Cherokee Nation". The band broke up in July 2004 after a short tour of Hawaii with the Oahu band 8mm Overdose. Ill Repute briefly reformed again (minus founding guitarist Tony Cortez) to tour Hawaii in 2006 again with 8mm Overdose. The lead guitarist, Tony Cortez (original band member) is considered the "Mayor Of Nardcore." Ill Repute has reformed with original members, (except Carl Valdez replaced by Chuck Shultz) they played one show in Ventura, CA on December 16 which they claimed was to be their last show, but have since reformed. Here two reviews about this record:  "This thrash band is from CA if you don't know where Oxnard is. Good songs, nice and heavy sound. Plays on 33 and has eight songs - all total thrash." - Javi Savage (from Big City #4, July/August 1983) / "Jeff was blasting this from his room the other day while I was trying to sleep. Next day I asked him WHAT that was, cause it sounded great, even though I should have been pissed. He felt it was pretty generic, so I went back and listened to it. Generic or not, this fucking wails! Guess he needed the sleep!" - Tim Yohannan (from Maximum Rocknroll #8, September 1983) - Here we go, another release from the never-ending collection of Mystic hardcore.

NOTDURFT - s/t LP 1982

Juhu, endlich Wochenende und ich bin kurz angebunden da ich gleich nach Heidelberg düse. Doch zuerst ein Bier und geile Mucke, zur Zeit läuft gerade das zweite Messer album ... Der Hammer!!! - Let's go: Notdurft is a punkrock legend from Bielefeld/Germany. They recorded this classic album in 1982 and was released on the legendary Berliner AGR label. The songs goes a little bit soft & poppy (hard speedy numders also there, don't worry) and is nowadays a very fine record. So here is enough rough energy that made them the most legendary punkrockers in this town. Also essential the three goodies from the brilliant Soundtracks Zum Untergang 2 compilation.
