Last one in May and with an average age of sixteen The Nitwitz were the youngest of the Amsterdam punkbands. In 1978 the boys were on stage for the first time at the Spinoza-lyceum in south Amsterdam. In 1980 the band released their first single on their own Vögelspin-label. This here is their second one. The Nitwitz were famous for their melodic carefree happy punk tunes and were influenced by Australian bands as Saints, Radio Birdman and by Ramones, MC5 and Stooges. Not by any English punkbands. They said their biggest influence were the Dickies. In the press they got less attention. And when they got some, they got negative critics. Cool sound, cool band, cool record - The Nitwitz broke up in march 1982. Test their Scorched Earth Policy 12'' too.

THE CARDIAC KIDZ - Get Out! 2009
The Cardiac Kidz were an American punk band from San Diego, California active from the late 1970s through the early 1980s. In 1979 the Cardiac Kidz released two 7" vinyl records; a 45 rpm disc, "Get Out / Find Yourself A Way" and an EP called, "Playground." They were the first punk band to make a TV appearance in San Diego June 1979 appearing on San Diego's KFMB-TV show "Sun Up San Diego" (Host Jerry D. Bishop) and were played on San Diego mainstream radio stations of the time such as KGB-FM, KPRI, etc... Articles on the Cardiac Kidz appeared in the San Diego Union Tribune, Kicks Magazine, and the San Diego Reader. The Cardiac Kidz are still featured across the US and in the UK through independent radio shows and podcasts such as "Strange Reaction”. They performed with many San Diego and Los Angeles punk and new wave bands of that era, such as The Penetrators, The Dinettes, The Monroes, The Rick Elias Band, The Americans, and many others. In 2009, the Italian independent record label, Rave-Up Records, released a limited edition vinyl compilation, collecting the single and EP plus rarities. Get Out! was the only full album released by the Southern Californian punk rock band over thirty years after their last recorded release an 7" vinyl EP featuring four songs recorded live. In this album, The Cardiac Kidz showcased their ability to cross music genres by producing music that treads over both punk rock, and new wave. It was released on October 15, 2009. This was also their first album on Rave-Up Records, after their previous label Lub-Dub Records was folded in 1978. The vinyl LP had a limited pressing of 1000 units. They also featured on Killed By Death #007 and #12. Cardiac Kidz are back again!!!!!

DEAD KENNEDYS - Jello's Revenge [Live '79+'85]
Classic stuff today with the Dead Kennedys, an American punk band formed in San Francisco, California 1978. Pioneers of hardcore punk during the 1980s, the band gained a large underground following in the international punk music scene. This is all I write about them. The Dead Kennedys influenced me total and after my first listening my resolution was fixed to be a punkrocker. Finally I discovered the life style I wanted. Best US punk band ever. Songs 1-10 recorded at the Old Waldorf in San Francisco, California on October 25, 1979 and 11-21 recorded live at The Farm in San Francisco on May 24, 1985. The 1979 tracks are sequenced in a different order than they were actually played. This bootleg omits some of Jello's talking between songs. Both shows were originally mastered and are a must have.

V/A - Bloodstains Across Europe #2 2000
One more today and let's have a look on Europe. On this trip we're back in the years 1978-1982 and meet fifteen rare punk blasts with dirty sound and useless lyrics which no one wants listen to. The Scandinavian region is here the most represented because the people there have nothing better to do as make nasty noises in any cellars to terrorize decent well-behaved neighbors. Even in the south the so-called outsiders leads to this tradition and celebrates gruesome sounds too. Occasion for another civil war? NO, simple punkrock we named it and have you a problem with us fuck your brains. Don't miss Volume 1 of this horrible music. I love you too...

DER BÖSE BUB EUGEN - Zehn Jahre 7'' 1989
Last post for today is again a pretty nice 7'' from this Swiss Punk/Rock Band from Schaffhausen and they're active from 1983 - 1990, later changed their name to Eugen because they found their band name something stupid gradually. First regarded as the swiss version of Die Ärzte, yet their style was different and pretty own. The band released a few singles and seven albums and were much present in the swiss underground scene. The title track is taken from the 1989 album "Himmel, Hölle Und Der Fisch" and the B-Side has with "Lady Blue" an exclusive track. Both tunes (A in german, B in english) very melodic, groovy guitars, a lots of uuhhhhh and ahhhhhh's and lyrically it's about love, what else? Beautiful songs I can always listen... and I think you too.
IDIOTS - They Call Us The Idiots 1985
Uhh... FUCK!!! It's raining outside and a bit cold again, time for another cool Punk record. Released via Mülleimer Records, another important German label in my opinion and posted by many other blogs but I listen to this album so often, reason enough to post it again. The Idiots from Dortmund are a alcohol-swiging bunch from Germany. They stumble between Oi-influenced sing-alongs and sloppy, enjoyable thrashers. This band opts for longer song structures and a pop style with moments of instrumental invention and even ingenuity. While the majority of this album sustains a melodic approach, there are welcome blasts of thrashy energy from time to time; too bad the compositions tend to fall into an earlier, less accessible German style.

THE KIDS - Naughty Kids 1978
Back to the 70s and let's discover Belgium. The second album makes as seamlessly continue where the first left off, all thirteen songs could have been as yet able to do on it but probably they wanted to allow the fans a little break. With "Naughty Kids" shows us THE KIDS that they lost not their power Punk Rock & Roll... released on Fontana Records and a lot of unoffical re-releases show how great this album is... awesome!
COLUMBIAN NECKTIES - Yes Ma'Am EP 2011
Holy Shit, here's a record which certainly meet your neighbors at your door. This is a loud dirty garage awesome punk record with three kick-in-your-face smashers. One of the best garage bands in Europe. The Columbian Neckties are founded in 1999 in Aalborg, Denmark. They describe their music as rock'n'roll-inspired punk rock, in the press they are often compared with the New Bomb Turks or the Saints. After first appearances in Denmark, also on the "Adios Moshable Festival" in Copenhagen, the band toured regularly in Europe, 2004, performances in Japan and the United States were realized. They accompanied the Hellacopters on their last European tour and have been an integral part of the Scandinavian music scene. From the label side I must quote this sentence: "No one shreds the guitar faster than Henrik and no one comes close to Jeppes vocal delivery. Everything just seems to fit perfectly with the Columbian Neckties. This is Punk – Punk and not Rock in disguise. Garage will always be Garage and that means getting your hands dirty. Their shows never fall short from being total revelations and are cramped with energy to an extent, that you could illuminate the Autobahn at night, if we were able to feed that energy into our power circuits." And really this band fucks every lame ass. They have already three albums out, all at Sounds of Subterrania Records and I think I must buy an LP soon. Great record, great music!!!!

UGLY AMERICANS - Who's Been Sleeping In My Bed? 1985
An album which I see everytime for cheap offers is this second one by North Carolina's Ugly Americans and I don't know why. A lot of bands made some of the most classic records in the early 80's come from this area. One such artist Simon Bob Sinister fronted Death Records 4th release, the almighty Ugly Americans "Who's Been Sleeping In My Bed" and this is a fair documentation of what the band could deliver. This band had connections to Corrosion of Conformity by way of lead singer Simon Bob Sinister. Here we have eight + one classic punkrock pearls which are more melodic as the debut "The Dream Turns Sour". These guys are pretty versatile and they put some power in their songs. Nothin' bad here! A review: "A vast improvement over their previous vinyl. The band has discovered a new crossover between musical styles and seem to be taking it in the right direction, with not as much of a metal influence as I expected. There's more of a chaotic, awkward, complicated power pounding sound. The lyrics are creative and slightly twisted, but only add to the record's sound. Hard to classify, but I like it!" - Martin Sprouse (from Maximum Rocknroll #30, Nov. 1985) This is a small piece of funky chirps and undoubtedly a cheerful album.

DIE X AGENTEN - Im Lichtermeer 1982
This is one of my primary records and I'm glad I can listen up at any time original sounding from this Hamburg punk/wave band X-Agenten and their song "Wanderer" is well known by any NDW fan. I remember a friend of mine had this record and we have heard this song up and down and I was then quite funny about this song because it has not much to say and the music is very monoton and I thought they're a typical useless NDW band. Today, however, I like the song really well. I discovered their first LP many years ago at a record fair and took them with me and I think the album has with NDW not much to do, fast punky pieces, little ska and pop elements makes 'Im Lichtermeer' by far do not sound so shallow and superficial, they have brilliant lyrics too and the music of the X-Agenten fits nicely into the year 1982, when German underground music under the name of the Neue Deutsche Welle enjoyed their day, although at that time also a lot of pop and related genres NDW were called and a lot of shit was thrown on the market. A year later, Durch Die Wüste, the second album was released tends more into a pop sound, but it's still far away from the drunken-society-normed shit, you know. Unfortunately, completely underestimated in my opinion, because they were a band with many facets and this makes them very interesting and still worth hearing nowadays.

NASAL BOYS - Lost And Found 2008
A request becomes real. From my former Blog, I found my old words, here I go:
Maybe one of the first punk band from Switzerland are the Nasal Boys. Founded December 1976 by Rudolph Dietrich, Leo Remmel and Heinrich Wüstenhagen. In addition they are surrounded by a steady changing bunch of musicians. Their first gig was in May 1977 under the name 1001 and in October the Boys recorded a few songs and shortly after their only single ''Die Wüste Lebt'' came out on Periphery Perfume in 1978. They continued to play more live shows and how raw and wild they sound live is here on the B-side documented, recorded at Drahtschmidli, Zurich in 23. December 1977. Thanks to a friend of Rudolph, he gave him the recordings and new remixed they are now here available. Would be a shame if they had stayed in the sinking. Former producer Silvio Panosetti found the unreleased studio songs, on side A and they are also great tunes. You can really feel the agressive guitars and the fast rough Nasal Boys sound which is quite unique. I know no other Swiss punk band that played so real hard (Jack & The Rippers as well). The band disbanded in 1978 and change their name into Expo. So this record is limited to 1000 handnumbered copies with a band-story in English and German plus coloured pictures of gig-posters. A loving and excellent record, thanks to Swisspunk for this lost nuggets.

V/A - Blackbox Compilation 1992
BlackBox was a short-lived German label in Waltrop which released a few 7Inches an the beginning of the 90s. Don't know how many copies are pressed, I think 1000 maybe. After the quick sold out of the records comes finally this piece of silver with all label bands out. Focus here is clearly melodic punkrock. Pleasant stuff.

BOXHAMSTERS - Hardcore EP 2010
Established German punk band from Gießen, let's welcome the Boxhamsters, founded in 1987 and still active today. The band released numerous awesome records and each album is truly a masterpiece. The band's name is from a Monty Python sketch called "Upper Class Twit of the Year" in which, German translation, Mister Boxhamster wins a fool competition of the high society. According to Singer Co. this EP was created by the Boxhamsters fans in Taiwan and included five fast songs from the years 1991 to 1996 and appeared in 2010 on the Japanese label Formosa Punk Records/Taiwan in a limited edition of 500 copies. A real collector's item also and a brilliant record, a blast with one smasher after the other. So you can imagine how great they are live. Don't miss their debut Bullerbü album. The Boxhamsters are still one of my favourite German punk bands.

CRANES - Adoration 7'' 1991
Now we take the tempo a bit down and come to a band that I really adore. Formed in 1986 in Portsmouth/England by siblings Alison and Jim Shaw, and named after the many mechanical cranes around the city's docks, Cranes are best known for the childlike, high-pitched vocals of lead singer Alison. Cranes are a UK band often remembered for touring the USA with The Cure in 1992. Since then they have acquired a loyal fan base around the world, who seem to find perfection in everything they do - whether it be fierce, sometimes stark guitar sounds of early albums like Wings Of Joy, Forever or folk-inspired Future Songs release. Cranes first album Self Non Self had a peculiar intensity which seemed all the more unusual at the time. John Peel picked up on the album right away, with the group recording a session for him in the album's first week of release. Some intense media interest followed and shortly afterwards the group signed to Dedicated-BMG and went on to record a lot of beautiful albums.
The band's music has been described as "gothic minimalism", although the band themselves disputed the 'gothic' tag. They have also been described as dream pop. In the early 1990s they were briefly lumped in with the "shoegazing" bands of the era. Much has been made of Alison Shaw's vocals, with descriptions ranging from "the helium tones of a small child", "baby-doll-voiced", and "a mewling, childish wisp of a voice". One reviewer described the band: "Imagine a small child singing lullabies at the bottom of the well with a background of grinding guitars".

V/A - Back To Front Vol.2 1993
Back To Front series of rare punk compilations, released by Incognito Records in Germany in the mid-90s. The records are full with early rare punk stuff from around the world, released in editions of 1.000 hand-numbered copies. Perfect layout with all infos inside, love this. The serie ends with Volume 6 but this continued for three more releases as Break The Rules, which were released on Insekten Records. Start with #2 because I have no real reason but I drink my second beer so what the fuck... I know that doesn't interest anyone, if so, write me.

V/A - Neues Deutschland 1990
Another good record which I think apparently in the scene and not warmly accepted is this one. It is offered everywhere cheap and I don't know why. Maybe it lies partially at the band names which sounds jocularly or the cover looks worse or something like that... however, this compilation kicks & sounds not really funny at all. Almost all songs are exclusive and shortly after the german reunification, A.M. Music (none of my favourite labels) has published this little pearl. The lyrics quite offensive, political & personal, nevertheless sometimes funny as well (Hannen Alks) and musically perfect melodic punk sound. The arrangement of west & east bands works. All in all is this compilation a small piece of german subculture.

V/A - Feel Lucky Skunk?! 1997
Long announced by me, now finally here. A visit to our dutch neighbors where we find this excellent compilation with ultra rare kbd punkrock of the early days.... as always. Twenty-two crackers from seventeen bands, onec again a nice colored artwork with info-sheet inside and orange vinyl, not common for a bootleg. I really have to say that I liked those records and it is really worth to make the purchase regardless of losses, assuming you like dutch punk rock, in this case. The original 7 inches nowadays difficult to obtain and then so fuckin' expensive blablabla.... you know what I'm talking about. Enough words, from my collection, all scans, have fun!
