Dutch-language punk rock group that becomes one of the most important Dutch rock acts. They were formed in May 1980 and this is the group's first single which is released one year later. The Kecks are inspired by the Buzzcocks and most of all the Undertones. The 2nd single Niet Alle Meisjes Zijn Verliefd Op Kors ('Not All Girls Are In Love With Kors') was released in 1982. In 1983 the band reaches the finale of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands Talent Show. Astonishing or? Anyway, early brillant dutch punk which fucks your brain. Schliessbaum is the first full length and is full with goodies.

PRESSURE - You Talk, We Talk 1982 + s/t 12'' 1983
Further goes our journey into the heart of the U.K. and find this awesome band. Until now I had no idea about this band. And in the glorious Internet there is no information. Well, so I tell you something. Pressure were Jimmy Nagle, Geoff Lidyard, Dave Brown & Ivor Llewellyn, and that's it, haha.... They released two 12Inches on Anagram Records and if you now think this is cool U.K. punk stuff then let me tell you: it's not so. But do not worry, Pressure playin' a nice wave sound with a very small punk riff. Comparable to the divine Chameleons, pretty nice guitars which characterize all songs. What can I more say, another great band with five goodies and worth listen to. They are featured on several compilations (UK/DK - The Original Soundtrack, Viva La Revolution!, etc...).

STARSHOOTER - Get Baque 7'' 1978
Rare two-side-Killer from Starshooter, a French rock band made up of Kent Hutchinson (guitar & vocals), Jello (guitar), Mickey Snack (bass) and Phil Pressing (drums). Founded around 1975 in Lyon as the Scooters. In fact this title was registered after the first album under a pseudonym for simple contract issues. After a number of concerts (with the Damned or Jacques Higelin for example), the band signed with EMI. In 1977 the first record leaves in the tread: Pin-Up Blonde/What Crisis, Baby. One Year later the output of Get Baque, their second 45 laps a stir. It must be said that the version of the famous Beatles classic is fairly irreverent and thwarts their record company, which also owns the Beatles catalog in. So the 7inch was removed from sale after a week. Even though the record is an absolute must as you find out.

BRÖDERNA - Politiker 7'' 1984
Bröderna is a punk band from Vetlanda and that's already all I know. On this brilliant record are two decent smashers in the vein of Ebba Grön or KSMB. I don't know why but they were not on the three Bloodstains compilations and I found sadly no info in the www. So you see this is very rare stuff. Both songs are great, have an excellent speed and pure power full shred, sung in swedish and adapt to any private fireworks. Check it out!

ISOLIERBAND - Keine Gnade 7'' 1982
Another completely unknown band are Isolierband and there is absolutly very less info about them in the net (auch scheißegal), so I can't really say much about these guys. I think that this record is their only release and the band came probably original from Düsseldorf. Musically, the two songs are a pleasant mix of catchy punk/wave sound and is comparable with previous Fehlfarben (Monarchie & Alltag). Goes fast in the ear, have charm and gets not bored, appeared at I.D.L. Records and is probably their only label release. Maybe you know more???
SLOBOBANS UNDERGÅNG - Maktgalen EP 1979
And again I am grateful that my call was answered and I can enjoy this wonderful EP, and you too for sure. A few days I posted Slobobans I Varje Tid 7'' and this is their first record with four songs with a completly different sound. The EP starts with blast, raw, rough and wild and a real KILLER!!!! Further with a slow number, perfect guitar playin' and the bass is also great as in their other 7''. The b-side starts with a cool reggae motive then turned in a fast snotty punk number, the last one spits a three minutes number out and closes the loop and you want to hear this EP again. Famos!!!! - Here's a little more info: "Slobobans Undergång from Partille was formed during the punkyear 1977. In the beginnig they thought it was much to advanced to do own songs, so some well chosen punk compositions was translated after own head. New York Dolls, Bad Detective turned into Dålig I Matte and The Damned's Problem Child become Mellanöl. But eventually they became more secure and more well together, the first record was the Maktgalen EP on Stockholm label Sista Bussen, within the years it should be 4 more singles. It was as liveband Slobobans did best with the Hassling brothers as double frontmen and a sound that often was accused to be heavy metal like. Besides, that was something the guitarist Gert Petterson was proud to confess. In 1985 the band split-up they had then played around the whole country and been through several musical phases. A problem that the band constant struggled with was to write songs which together with Per Hasslings defection killed the inclination and the pleasure to continue. Sloboban do reunion gigs once in a while and sounds nowadays even harder than before." Fantastic, rare and pure KBD sound.

UNIPLUX - Maledetto Rock 7'' 1984
Since the 1980s, Uniplux have been an integral part of Rome’s music scene. Born from an idea of Fabio Nardelli, leader of the band’s original line-up, they debuted in the flourishing period of Italian Punk rock, with the Italian RCA label, as a guitar-bass-drum trio, releasing ‘Chi siamo noi?’ - a track declaring the incommunicability and marginalisation of young people. The group’s style, although resonant of the 1980s, takes its roots from ‘70s rock and rediscovers the Italian musical heritage of the ‘60s.
With appearances on national and local networks (Orecchiocchio, Maledetto Rock, their second single – Rai Stereo 2, Onda Verde, Domenica Rock …) their original repertoire was revived. The style was rigorously Italian, of social orientation and linked to the theme of troubled youth as a consequence of marginalisation and urban decay. Following several changes in the band’s line-up, and a stimulating collaboration between Fabio Nardelli and the musician Marco Schiavoni producing music for cinema and theatre, the band’s repertoire reached a new maturity that was reflected in their live performances. The right exposure had finally been found for Nardelli’s visceral guitar playing, his edgy voice, and the creative vision of his daily experiences of psychology and pyschotherapist Reichiano (aspiring shaman..?).
A commitment to the prevention, cure and rehabilitation of the mentally ill and drug dependent became a formidable driving force for a lyricist without compromises, at times harsh and direct, yet always sincere. Recently the group’s lyrics have been enriched due to esoteric-cultural influences, the philosophical leader’s vision of the world.
Amongst their new songs, Fermare il mondo speaks of the painful process of internal transformation, an inevitable journey to reach a new type of consciousness – the only possible alternative to the terrible conditions of homogeneity and alienation of occidental man – a clear reference to Carlo Castaneda’s book ‘Viaggio ad Ixtlan'. Il fantasma della libertà is inspired by Luis Bunuel’s eponymous film and Radiazione Orgonica is a tribute to the work of William Reich, a revolutionary psychologist who was as much a genius as he was persecuted. Dismissed from the official science of our time, the tracks Superimposizione cosmica and Asylum are dedicated to Reich, songs that speak of his death in an American prison in 1957. In 2000, the band was invited to play at the 22nd Girofestival broadcast on Rai 3. In 2004, they appeared on Rai Uno’s ‘Demo’ and in 2005, Red Ronnie’s ‘Cosa succede in città. Also they played Rai Radio 2 on Carlo Posio’s ‘Notturno Italiano’. Uniplux released 3 short films Fermare il mondo, Lady Day and Dott. Carlitos, based on an idea of Fabio Nardelli’s that was produced by Studio ZOBIT and directed by Marco Schiavoni.
The CD Radiazone Orgonica was released in 2002 on Enrico Capuano’s independent label, Blond Records and in 2006 was realeased I Dannati, i militanti e lo stregone with label Atman Records. In December 2007 Uniplux’s latest CD 'Spacciatori Di Soldi' was released in co-production with the independent label Atman Records. (Source: MySpace)

KNALLKOPF - s/t EP 1997
With Knallkopf we come to a young band from the beautiful city of Vienna. I knew to date not anything about the band but this is surprised astonishingly positively, musically the guys played pretty rough & cool and spit here four trashy & loudy punk songs out as there was no tomorrow, plus the charming dark-held cover artwork makes this little piece of vinyl a collector's item. Somehow I have to think Beethoven & Mozart, hmmm..funny! I think, it's time to pay a visit to Vienna - Awesome record! Meanwhile they released an album plus two split 12''. Everything is right and Knallkopf rock your house!

PRIME MINISTERS - Society's Murder 7'' 1983
Three piece Dutch combo from Leiden with their only record on Prime Records. Members are Obelix (bass), Vinnie (drums) and Guus (guitar + vox). Two solid mid-tempo crackers, reminds me a bit of the english Blitzkrieg you know. Anyway, this rare one is good stuff and the flip was taken for the Feel Lucky Skunk?! compilation (which I could even post someday or...?). That's all, enjoy!

THE LICKS - 1970's EP 1979
Formed in 1978 in Bishop Stortford the band decided to call themselves The Epileptics following a suggestion from one of their mothers. In August 1978 Crass played in Bishop Stortford and a long lasting friendship was established. Complaints of ‘ill-conceited jocularity’ from The British Epilepsy Association resulted in a name change to Epi-x, then changed to The Licks under pressure from Stortbeat who in 1979 released the band’s debut single, much played by John Peel. The band changed their name back to The Epileptics, more releases followed, then in early 1980 the nucleus of The Epileptics re-emerged as Flux Of Pink Indians. In 1981 the record was again released with the same songs but a bit faster and rougher, listen - Repressed in 2015 on Overground Records in an edition of 500 pieces - Nice one!

RIFF RAFF - I Wanna Be A Cosmonaut EP 1978
In 1977, Billy Bragg formed the punk rock/pub rock band Riff Raff, and toured London's pubs and clubs. The band released a series of singles, which did not receive wide exposure and so the band disbanded 1981. This first EP was released on Chiswick Records and it's awesome. What a pity that the record was at that time not very successful, which I cannot really understand because there are four punkrock classics that kicks not exactly in the ass but still catchy & snotty and all of you who know Billy Bragg as solo performer you will be surprised how crazy this man was and still is. And today??.. you pay a lot coins for a copy, crazy or? I like the EP and I can listen to it everday and maybe you agree with me. In 2002 came out a compilation CD with all the singles on BMG.

DRONGOS FOR EUROPE - Death's A Career EP 1982
Here's another classic one from the UK and this is their 3rd 7inch on Tempest Records. I can only say another damn cracker in the punk universe and you will sure share my opinion. I have some info from their home page here which I would like to put in you:
"Formed in 1979 in Birmingham/England, playing early gigs with mates G.B.H. The Drongos first single was a DIY release in 1981 called 'Hope And Glory'. The band also recorded two EPs on Inferno Records in 1982 - 'Death's A Career' and 'Eternity', which actually charted at around 47 in the national UK charts - Unfortunately, nobody in the band bothered reading music press at the time or listened to Radio One (we were the first punks in our town to have our own flats/ homes, so everyone came back to our place to get wrecked. We didn't need much encouragement to join in) So, to cut a long story short - we never knew
until our then guitarist Anton joined in 1999, that we sold any records, and we of course never made any money and got ripped off like every band on Inferno Records. The band split in 1985 - reformed in 88 - carried on and off until the mid 90s, never actually splitting up but not doing anything, either. "Without doubt one of the most exciting Punk bands playing anywhere in the World today. From the brilliant 'Barcode Generation' to 'Hotline To Hades', the Drongos are no longer playing the best Punk Rock in the UK, but clearly setting the standard for Punk to come. Intelligent. Exhilarating. Honest. Quite simply brilliant". Drongos For Europe are currently one of the hottest bands in the UK gigging and touring more than most bands from the eighties, having toured many times in Europe and also touring the U.S."
Great sound, great songs, great band!

LES HATEPINKS - Hate!-Oupupo Songs EP 2007
Here we have the awesome weirdos Les Hatepinks from France and they're playing pretty fresh '77 snotty punk rock. Hell what a great fuckin' record!!! Each song is thirteen seconds long and is make to play loud. I quote from the lyric sheet: "Terms of creation: record 16 songs in one night. No songs should be composed before the recording session. No post-recording is possible (no fucking Protool assembly!). No song should be "just funny noise (no spoken word, no instrumental shitty jam...). 5 grams of speed should be used during the recording session. Cocaine ain't speed. Nobody should cry his mother during the recording session. Lyrics should have no more that 2 different sentences. Onomatopeia like "Yeah!", "Fuque!" or "Une deux trois quatre!" do not count as a sentence. Except for a voice, no dubbing is possible... Every song should be a denunciation against this shitty society and the vacuity of modern life. If the result is deep shit, no shame is autorized. Send this crap to the record label in any case. Take drugs and kill yourself." So if you agree with that don't wait any longer and make the stage yours and get this fuckin' awesome record now! 2009 they play a final show at the Machine à Coudre in Marseille.

KICKS - The Secret 7'' 1981
I was asked for a compilation which I unfortunately do not own. So I wrote an email to my friends and got it finally. However, it still lasts a little up to the Shakedown! post but I will give you a small tidbit by this awesome Brisbane punkers. This 7inch was published original by Shake Records and re-released 2012 by 540 Records. So I wanna use an excellent review from GraveMistakeRecords which descripes the band/record perfect:
"Official reissue on 540 Records of this Australian "post punk" classic from 1981 that sounds so much like Bauhaus it's crazy! This is the 6th in the series of Shake/Savage records reissues of some of the best punk ever to come from Australia. After nearly three years (and nearly as many chords) The Young Identities decided to try something different if not entirely distant. They still get a buzz from fast and sinister music so they change their name to Kicks and release a very limited edition cassette singe titled 'Leather/Godzilla'. Sounding fresh, brash and furious but with more depth than previously heard, the boys continued to expand on the new noise with the 1981 vinyl double A side follow up 'Return of the Action Man/The Secret'. The single sold well locally and was an acknowledged influence on new and upcoming bands like Mystery of Sixes and Public Execution. Officially though, it was to be Kicks last recorded release, until now... where thanks to the good folk of 540 records it raises it ugly hydra-head again!"
I believe therefore everything is said and I can be even grateful to that people who dig out such brilliant classics. Two excellent songs from a very good band.
POWER AVENUE - California 7'' 1982
Power Avenue was a punk/wave/noise band from Zurich in the early 80's. Their only record was released in June 1983 in an edtion of 1000 copies. This hard to find little fucker is even in Switzerland quite rare. Musically very eletkro oriented with a noisy guitar accompanied and sung in french in german. Two driving monotonous songs that not change the world but wanna be heard. That's all info I can give you but I think you wanna test it, don't hesitate.

TRUST - Antisocial 7'' 1981
Absolutely unknown band to me (and I listen in the early 80s lots of Metal music) are the next band and this record comes from a French heavy metal band which was founded 1977 in Paris and popular in Europe in the first half of the 80s. Trust are Bernie (vox), Raymond (bass), Nono (guitars) and Jeannot (drums). The band released its first single "Prends Pas Ton Flingue" in the same year. This record was re-released when the band made its first short-lived comeback in 1992. Interestingly Iron Maiden's drummers Nicko McBrain and Clive Burr were part of Trust line-up in the 80s (who would have thought this?). Antisocial is a high-class rocket which I already hear from other combos but this here is the original and it's a typical hardrock tune with a slight punk undertone, mid-tempo and a solid guitar-solo, I'm really excited as well from the flip, a peppy loud 2:42 number. You can tell what you want, if any don't like this sound you better move to Disneyland. The band disbanded in 1984 and reformed in the 2000s for live shows and new recordings.

RAMZES & THE HOOLIGANS - Poland/Alkoholand EP 1994
One more rare item from the glorious 333 x Up & Down series and does a good job. Ramzes & The Hooligans are Polish Oi!/Punk group from Rydultau. Despite a few concerts, they became famous with simple, often controversial, yet humorous texts concerning matters that they hurting every day Polish society. The band does not consider itself bound to any ideology, and their texts can be found even mockery of joy after the death of Adolf Hitler, and assigning him to the evil world. The band almost broke up after the departure of vocalist Ramzes to Germany after 1989 (the mocking words of the song Easter fall Together we'll go to the church of the Lord Jesus to kiss, we all really happy that he is an idiot crucified for us, which apparently had flee the country), however, and there he played a few gigs and released the album 'We Are Back', which is the German release of A Clockwork Orange. Dirty UK '77 fashioned bootboy-streetpunk!
JABBERWOCKY - We're Just Bom Bom Boys EP 1995
Well, the weather is still shitty, rain & rain & rain and I start today with this dutch garagepunk band from Vorstenbosch/Holland and members were Dirk and Edwin Timmers, Michel van Lanen and Patrick. Jabberwocky made several records between 1993 and 2000, toured Holland and Germany and played several times at the VPRO's Club Lek. Jabberwocky split up in 2000, but reunite in 2006 with new energy! This four track EP was part of the "333 x Up & Down" series of Incognito Records and was recorded at John's "Pink Noise Studio" in Eindhoven. Fast & catchy-trashy as fuck.

MEGAFOONS - Nooit Meer Fascisme EP 1983
Megafoons are from Utrecht and this is their second EP. I would describe their music as folk/punk or unplugged. Slide violins, slide guitars and bongos are their instruments, they sing in dutch dialect strong political lyrics (I think it goes exclusively against war and its consequences, we all see what's going on in the Middle East. When mankind learns at last from the past?) - Four charming songs coming over. It must be not always fast and aggressive. A very nice one I think.

VIIMEINEN KOLONNA - Onnellisuus Ahdistaa EP 2001
From Helsinki comes this fantastic hardcore band (last column), and this is their first release on Fight Records. And Fuck! what a horny music. Influences of Discharge or Terveet Kädet are here and all the nine songs roars out of the speakers so that these must do a quite maximum job. If I could only understand what these weird guys sing here? The Finnish language is world class and I think the guys are really pissed off. aggressive quick notes that I can always play. The world as a punk rocker is not easy. Everyone who enjoyed classic hardcore 'Made In Finland' can't getting away from this awesome band. B.t.w. great cover artwork.
BELLA BELLA - Telefon 7'' 1982
Another collaboration from unforgotten multitalent Fredi Fender (Mordbuben AG), here as singer of Bella Bella (formed 1982, disbanded 1983) and this is their only record, released on WEA Records, with two nice poppy Wave songs. The title song is about learnin' another person via the phone and the voice is pleasant and you go ahead with stimulating conversation and in the end you come together and you just fall in love (or not). Surely I know such a situation like this and it could be happen every day. So be attentively, perhaps this can be the love of your life. The b-side is a cropped instrumental version. Nice & not Sleazy!

JELLO BIAFRA - Jezebel 7'' 2008
I believe it is unnecessary to write about Jello Biafra. Everyone knows him and appreciates his position. Was recently a guest in Wiesbaden last Thursday and it was once again a big screen, this man is really still on the top. Therefore, I quote a review of this limited to 3000! 7inch: "What do you get when Jello Biafra and three of the Zen Guerrilla attack two songs for a Reverend Horton Heat compilation? You get this aural ass-kicking of a 7-inch! The A-side is their scathing take on the classic rockabilly tune, "Jezebel," while the B-side is their version of the Rev's awesome tune "Speed Demon"!! The cover art is hand-picked by Jello - and if you think the topless blonde with the dog is striking, wait 'til you see the other side." More Words, No! - ENJOY!
BELASTUNGSPROBE - Æ.T.Z. EP 1980
Belastungsprobe were a punk band from Hamburg/Germany and this is their first record with eight short songs, released again on Play Loud Records. Guitar, bass, drums, a cheap keyboard or two, and talking/shouting vocals. They had never moved out of the garage into a proper recording studio, possible they would have sounded something like this. Weird low-fi punk rock fun which sounds very experimental, all D.I.Y. made and sure the offers (if any were) by Alfred Hilsberg resisted, Belastungsprobe remains no ZickZack band. Listen to the second one here.

LA POLLA RECORDS - Y Ahora Que? EP 1983
Shortly before bedtime this nice record: La Polla Records is a Basque punk rock band and was formed in 1979 in Agurain, a small town in the Basque Country. They released their first EP Y Ahora Qué? ('So Now What?') via an small indie label called Oihuka and they were one of the first punk bands to sing in spanish. The name was somewhat controversial because in Spain's spanish, polla is slang for penis. I can imagine how big the trouble was. The title track can be found on essential Bloodstains Across Spain compilation. So here we have four killer songs in the KBD style, wild, raw, dirty & short.
PSYCHO SURGEONS - Horizontal Action 7'' 1978
Amazing record by this combo from Sydney's first punk bands, formed by Mark Taylor (guitar), Dave Taylor (drums), Charlie Georgees (bass) and Stan Armstrong (vox). Horizontal Action was released on their own label Wallaby Beat in September 1978, 500 copies were pressed. All the sleeves were laid out on the floor and band members threw cow's blood over a lot. Needless to say, the single is an impossibly rare item these days. Shortly after the release the band split and Mark and David Taylor formed The Lipstick Killers. So this is the re-release which comes in a gatefold sleeve with pics and a four page band-story. Nice Platter!
- Special Thx again to Fredrik -
THE SKUNKS - Can't Get Loose 7'' 1979
The Skunks are commercially successful punk band from the late 1970's Austin, Texas scene. The band formed in 1977 by Jesse Sublett on vocals + bass, "Fazz" Eddie Munoz on guitar and Billy Blackmon on drums. They released several singles, two albums and miscellaneous tracks on compilations between 1978 and 1982. This is their debut record with two classics, 'Earthquake Shake' Skin beats the shit out of you during the title song is a bit too long, intensive sound and heavy impulsive. Re-released in 2011 on Last Laugh Records, good choice!

ROTATORS - Zombie Tango 7'' 1980
In 1977 the Rotators were the first band in East-Westphalia to play punkrock. They came back in 1997 for a reunion which brought the new recorded CD "Best of 1977-1997". The single "Zombie Tango" is their only record on Kripo Records and includes two tracks. They use an organ in their music which made them sound closer to the Stranglers than most other German punk bands of that time. A nice little one!
ENOLA GAY - Döda Djur 7'' 1981
Originally formed as Usch in a shelter room under the subway station Näckrosen in Stockholm 1978. Short after they had the oppurtunity to support Ebba Grön on a minor suburb-tour. After the tour they recorded the first EP. Usch did play in Denmark a lot and it was there they recorded the second EP, "Hatlåten". Just before they split up they recorded their third EP under the name Enola Gay and this record has a bright dark wave punk sound and the voice of Kristina takes you into a magical wonderland. Ahhh.. she's hot. Great two songs I can always listen to... again & again. A small awesome rare record from a nice band!
THE TIGHTS - Bad Hearts EP 1978
A damn good record is the following one and I cite two reviews to the beginning: "Ignore any prejudices you might have about being reminded of the sound of '77 and learn to enjoy again (like last summer) the constant riffing guitar, studied vocals and melody line supported by the bass alone. Ignore the girl in barbed wire bondage and war pic sleeve and pick up on guts of the performance and wit of the tune. It's no 'Orgasm Addict' but not long ago, Pete Shelly would've been proud of it. And Brian Jones aside, that's better than we have any right to expect of something coming out of Cheltenham." (Sounds, 8.July 1978) - "Lay down a raucous rhythm guitar in the background, bring in clear foreground vocals, and finally make the sound complete with the bass and drums combining as one unit, and you have a superb modern pop record." (Radio & Record News, 1978) - The Tights are an English punk rock band from Worcester. The band's only two singles were released by the Cherry Red Records label. After John Peel played "Bad Hearts" on BBC Radio 1, this single made it to number six in the UK punk chart. Follow-up "Howard Hughes" reached number four in the same chart. After playing their farewell gig at the Marquee Club, London, the Tights split in 1979. In 2004 the band reformed. Visit them on their HomePage for more records, information and music. Enjoy all three amazing '77 punk tunes like I do and I'm sure I'm gonna watch out for more.

V/A - Chaos In Europe 1985
Another wonderful compilation of brilliant Oi!/Punk stuff is this record, released by Chaos Production and it brings a small sample of the punk scene here in Europe of the early 80s. I must confess that it's a long time ago I listen to but it's always a pleasure when I pick this record up again. Here's a review that says all: "Despite a well-drawn but obnoxious macho cover with blatant evocations of violence, the third Chaos Production compilation proves to be another very strong release. This one has band from all over Europe on if, thereby extending its range and variety. Herein one can find the standard French-style skunk (KOMINTERN SECT, REICH ORGASM, L'ENFANTS SAUVAGES, and Spain's DECIBELIOS), catchy pop punk (AL KAPOTT, DREI ORLOK, Spain's T.N.T., Holland's NV LE ANDEREN, and a killer cut from Sweden's ASTA KASK) pure Oi (BRUTAL COMBAT and Italy's NABAT), and all sorts of punk (KAMBRONES, Germany's F.F.F. and NEUROTIC ARSEHOLES, and Sweden's SLAM). Highly Recommended." - Jeff Bale (from Maximum Rocknroll #27, August 1985) - Nothin' to add, so let's start the download and open a beer meanwhile.
1.Tous Ensemble - KOMINTERN SECT
2.Supporter - REICH ORGASM

BARN AV REGNBUEN - Det E'kje Nåkka Artig Længer EP 1986 + Helter Og Skurker! EP 1987
Your speakers' worst nightmare is here: Barn Av Regnbuen (Children Of The Rainbow) was a hardcore/punk band from Harstad in the north of Norway. They released a 7inch on the seminal X-Port Plater record label and a flexi disc on their own. The band played rough, aggressive and uncouth Hardcore as it was characteristic in the 80s and they're fuckin' awesome. Just the right soundtrack for a long car ride. The lyrics are in native Norwegian and I like this language, sounds like a motley word gibberish you know... I wish I could speak such a difficult language like this. However, in 2006 Cradle to Grave Records released a discography record with all their studio material. The band played two reunion concerts in Oslo and Trondheim to promote the release.

PANX ROMANA - Antartes Poleon 1989
In 1989, Panx Romana released (always through Wipe Out Records), their second record Antartes Poleon [Urban Guerillas]. The platter contains thirteen tracks in all & their sound in this record is more akin to The Ramones & they even cover "Somebody Put Something In My Drink" under the title 'Supression Of The Marginalized'. Such classics as 'The Letter' and 'Vacation In The Army' transmit pretty much everything that the band ever stood for. Also notable is the instrumental 'Tien Amen'. A worthy successor to the first album.
FIENDENS MUSIK - s/t LP 1979
Here's more rare stuff from the three crowns country and with their debut 7inch 'En Spark Rätt I Skallen' the band break through. Fiendens Musik is located at the intersection of punk prog rock. Although they came to life late 1977, just punk begins, so let them not quite as punk, but somewhere between prog rock and punk. But good was it anyway and it does not prove at least their first album which is one of the best punk records released in Sweden. Their debut is just as cult as the plates at any time with Ebba Grön, KSMB or Attentat. Most of the songs on the album are incredibly good fast punkrock. Stand out a little plate making local radio, which is relatively quiet in comparison with the surrounding grooves. If you've never heard anything from the band before, you must immediately throw you over the song "En Spark Rätt I Skallen", a kick right in the shells. Fiendens Musik has also released a second LP called "Häftiga Hästen & Andra Äventyr" which also has some good punk songs. Perhaps it could be a future project to provide it for incorporation into the Past? (Patrick Carlson)

SHAM PISTOLS - Natural Born Killer 2008
In 1979 ex-Pistols Cook & Jones teamed up with Sham's Pursey & Treganna to form a Punk Rock super group. Unfortunately it doesn't work, so only one studio session happened. The result: four catchy tracks, sounding exactly like The Professionals with Pursey on vocals. On the flip side you'll get the 4 encore tracks of Sham's Last Stand (Apollo Theatre, Glasgow). Way back in 1979, the “merger” of the Sex Pistols with Sham 69 caused, for a brief moment, a great deal of excitement. With Johnny now in PiL and Sid dead, both fans and the press waited eagerly for news on Steve and Paul's next move. By May '79 it seemed the answer was known. The boys would be joined by Sham 69's Jimmy Pursey and Dave “Kermit” Treganna. Known for the time being as the Sham Pistols – until a name could be settled on - they went into Manor Studios, Oxford, to lay down some tracks. By August the group was in tatters. It took over 30 years for these songs to emerge. Enjoythem. As for the vinyl pressing itself, the quality of the recordings is very good, if slightly muddy. Side two adds weight to this. Recorded live at Glasgow Apollo, when Steve and Paul appeared for Sham 69's encore in June ‘79, Pursey can be heard bigging himself up, ranting that he told Steve and Paul to get rid of McLaren then he would sing for them, alongside his tales of how he's in the newspapers every day. The whole Sham Pistols episode had a detrimental effect on both camps. After the band fell apart, Pursey went on to reform Sham 69 but with limited success. Steve & Paul went into limbo before emerging a year later as The Professionals.

V/A - Killed By Death #40 1998
Starting September with one more fuckin' cool record and ripping a platter like this needs time and I'm not always in the mood for that. But here we go with another fine work, I am so free, haha.. "Strictly No English Or American Junk" on this release, 500 copies made, Redrum Records, Hell! Although Mister Fredrik has contributed greatly to this with his special contributions to wdthtc. Cheers again to You!!! So this volume does a nice job of featuring bands from places that haven't been covered before and overall the quality is pretty good with a lot of awesome killer tracks. And to be honest, I've not heard any weak KBD sampler and the detectives do once again a brilliant work. "Sid bless the man, who first had the idea to put out records like these."
