GRENZFALL - Svarta Rosor 1983

New wave band from Gävle with their lone release on Mamma Records. Band members: Tony (vox), Ulf + Ola (bass), Michael + Bengt (guitars) and Robban (drums), founded 1979 and they made a first demo tape in 1981. Two more followed until finally this mini album came out with eight solid tunes. Grenzfall chat with their shallow melodic pop songs and are very pleasant to get awake. Listen for example on bandcamp and enjoy their music as well. I still have a lot's of to do's and it's getting hot again. Stay tuned!

THE BIPS - This Is Jurisdiction 7'' 1990

'77 punk-rock: that's The Bips from Nijmegen/Holland and they active since 1987. The music style is the old UK punk. TV, radio and a lot of stage experience. Played in major venues with major bands like UK Subs, Buzzcocks or The Briefs. Visit The Bips at home. Two songs found here and for me is the B-Side "The Fall Of The Perfect State" the winner. Cool platter! - Now it's Bundesliga time, must out :)

ICE 9 - Out Out Out EP 1979

Portland based Punkers Ice 9 with their lone record on Cool Records. Imagine, you walk through the city and you think of nothing special as suddenly in the sky a strange object appears and lands direct before you. An undefinable figure comes out and heads for you and press this small piece of vinyl in your hand. It says: Listen to this sound and you will see. Then it goes back, leaves a loud fart and disappears into the grey infinity. The moral of the story: It doesn't need a lot for a bright instant. - All three numbers are amazing and also to find on the KBD compilations.

TV21 - Playing With Fire 7'' 1980

Originally formed 1979 in Edinburgh by Norman (vox + guitar), Neil (bass), Colin (drums) and Ally (guitar), the band took their name from Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson's fanzine, TV21 released a string of singles and one album, 'A Thin Red Line' via Deram Records. During that time they toured extensively, both in their own right and as support to bands such as The Skids, The Moondogs and The Undertones. But by May 1982 the band had grown frustrated at their inability to break through to the next level and decided to quit while they were ahead, immediately after coming offstage supporting The Rolling Stones at Edinburgh Playhouse. And that was the end of that, until October 2005, when out of the blue, they agreed to perform as part of the John Peel Day gigs organised around the country to mark the anniversary of the DJ’s death. 'Playing With Fire' (released on Powerbeat) is their first record and it's a very nice PowerPop goodie with two melodic mid-tempo tunes, optimal for travelingThe sound goes immediately in my veins and makes me extreme positive. Honestly, this 7inch is a real highlight and I'm sure I'm going to catch the album.

THE FREEZE - In Colour EP 1979

The Freeze formed in Edinburgh and were active from 1976 to 1982, gigging continuously throughout their homeland of Scotland, and supporting a wide range of acts, from the likes of Sham 69 to Echo & The Bunnymen. On stage they were quite the lively bunch - with an unusually diverse spectrum of sound, glam-punk gender-bending theatrics, and a knack for random song improvisation - it was a package that often left onlookers enthusiastically scratching their heads in astonishment. The group had two official releases – 1979’s debut EP 'In Colour' and 1980’s 7'' Celebration, both are self-financed on their own A1 label. Three punk/wave songs we have here and I like all a lot. Cool & nice stuff!!!!

V/A - Smelling Just Another Bad Breath 1986

The third release from Double A Records is this fine goodie. The label owner was always searching for bands around the world and so they sent plenty of material to Germany and the result shows this strong international compilation. A healthy dose of exclusive songs in a decent packing. I remember that I had to sell the record for lack of money, but I could take it again on a record fair, unfortunately without the booklet. DELINCUENCIA SONORA - La Ley EP 1988

From Madrid are Delincuencia Sonora, founded 1981 by Jose (bass + vox), Javier (guitars) and Antonio (drums), they are one of the pioneering bands in Spain of the Punk/Hardcore and Anarcopunk movement. They've been playing continuously since its formation. In December 1982, Antonio Cruz has to leave the band due to his forced recruitment into military service. He returns after that shit and becomes the second singer for a year. In 1982 they recorded their first professional recording for the radio station Radiocadena Spanish (RCE) and one year later their first official demo 'Too Late' was made. A few compilation contributions followed before the release of the La Ley EP on Basati Diskak came out. 1992 finally the album 'Por La Causa De Algun Rebelde' was recorded and with their melodic punk sound they fascinate. More albums were released and they still active. As well necessary: Viva La Punk 1978-1988.

THE NEWS - Do! Do! Do! EP 1987

And now a small piece for fans of Japanese girlie pop-punk and I think they are from Tokio. The Band created not a new genre and they were influenced by 80's punk rock and I like their energy here on this 4 Track EP which was released by Kojima Recordings, Inc. - Not much information about them and so all I can say that these girls are very hot and there's no filler on it. I do not know many bands from Japan, but The News are surprisingly fresh and leave such many lame Power-Pop band far behind.

SERENE FALL - Demos 2003

Considering that their last record is already four years ago and this autumn their new 10'' Silent World comes out on Major Label I thought it's time to post some partially unreleased demos of my favorite dark punk band from Mönchengladbach (would a pity if they were going to die in nothingness). Serene Fall create once again the balancing act of aggressive melancholy songs, which always held personally, and fascinate. The sound is quite good and here yet as four piece combo: Maul (vox + guitars), Udo (bass), Nico (drums) and Rainer (guitar) and the 2nd guitar is clearly noticeable what the songs even more power gives, meanwhile they have shrunk to three members. Serene Fall is music I can always put in. Don't know who this send in but you have my frank thanks. Who wants/needs more stuff I recommend to use the search option top left.

EL VICIO - Born To Be Wild EP 2009

All Right, time for something new and completly different, haha... - First info: 390 copies with an full color sleeve and 77 with a one color silkscreened sleeve on black cardboard and 33 on a grey cardboard with a different front and back cover. And El Vicio is a garage punk'roll band from Perpignan/France. I think these boys are using drugs, TV-News, Heino platters or whatever to recording such a heavy record like this. Four trashy numbers, first is a definitive fatal sound of 'Born To Be Wild', then we have two awesome rather "quiet" (the tempo was slightly lower) numbers, and the record ends much too quickly with a monotone version of Suicide's 'Cherie Cherie'. Puuhhhh, I'm sweating, this is an amazing record and if they released an album, I would buy it immediately. Check these weird frenchmen take a listen to their sound and all softies should better let your fingers off!

JAWOLL - Rendezvous 7'' 1983

One of my favourite songs from the 80's is this one by an interesting band that I would not denote as a typical NDW band, rather German Rock. And who is behind it follows in this small description:

Jawoll was founded 1981 at the Kassel Art Academy, where singer Kornelia Scholz and drummer Matthias Kutschke studied. As the guitarist was an Englishman the lyrics of  'Taxi' was initially in English. But after the appearance of the first Ideal album they decided only to sing in German. After a few gigs the band was discovered from Hamburg Rüssl-Räckords-Verlag, who procured them an elaborately staged appearance in the former cult broadcast Bananas. After the broadcast their first 7inch 'Taxi' scrambled into the Top 20 of the charts. A tour throgh Germany followed and the second single 'Rendezvous' made it to number 49 on the charts. After several changes of record company the third single 'Ich Bin Verrückt Nach Dir' appeared in 1984 and reached number 2 in the ZDF Hit Parade. In 1986, the band broke up and the members left the music business, except for the guitarist Robert Foster, who emigrated to Canada, and with singer Jann Arden celebrated international success and to this day he is still active as a musician. Sadly Kornelia Scholz died 1988 from leukemia (Info by Matthias Kutschke, thx!).

GNÄ GNÄ - The Terrible Unexpected Brainstorm 1987

After an interesting afternoon at the Main (Yeah!) and now listen to the Disco Zombies (I Love Those Fuckin' Tunes) live tracks and before the second match SGE - FCA starts a quick post with a nice swiss combo. Here we go: The four-member punk band Gnä Gnä from Basel existed from about 1982 to 1990. They played a noisy mix of pop & punk. Most of the songs have the guitarist Ramon and singer Helen wrote. Steff was on bass and Dani on drums. This band have announced their first gig on 11. September 1982 at the school festival of Holbein Gymnasium in Basel. From then on they were playing regularly, initially in the area of Basel, then in Switzerland, (Zurich, Bern, St. Gallen, etc.). In the spring of 1985 bassist Angelika left the band and Steff came in her place. After that they played also in Germany and Scandinavia. In 1987 they recorded their debut LP on Sick Records and in 1989 appeared on the German label Positive Destruction their second album 'Lost In Time And Space' and a few singles that were also partially split with other bands. Helene left the band in late 1988, and for her came Smada and took the Micro for about one year. Shortly thereafter Gnä Gnä broke up. All members played in the following years in various bands, including Helene until 1999 as back-vocalist for the last album of Touch El Arab. Interesting LP with varied songs and beautiful booklet.

TOTAL EGON - 7inch Collection 1987-1989

Time for another 7inch collection (check out this Blog for others) by this one man band from Stockholm: Total Egon is Mart Hällgren, better known as lead singer/bassist, songwriter and frontman of melodic punk band De Lyckliga Kompisarna (DLK). 1979 started Hällgren his first punk band called Likström. Ten years later he formed De Lyckliga Kompisarna with Bjorn Gunér. The band was active until 1997 and reunited in 2008. Besides he always had some other bands like Dr.Anti-Skval, Crudity, Brackor, Ubba and Greven & James. Total Egon was created in 1984 because he didn't managed to play in Egon Egoist and has been around since 1984 and has been more or less active due to Mart's involvement in other bands. He connected two tape recorders and started to play drums, bass and guitar by himself. It was music without any arguing in rehearsal room. Since then it has become alots of recordings, and nowadays there are computers to arrange the music. "Sure it's nice to play in a band, but home on your own the music become its best." So this file contains all three 7inches he made, all self-released. In individual: Fördomar Mot EP ('87), Guldkängan EP ('88) and the Män EP ('89). Musically he's at home in solid melodic punk rock embellished with "quiet" passages and fast ass kickers. Great talent, decent songs, keep it up!

V/A - H'Artcore 1981

H'Artcore is a compilation that was published by H'Art Records with various punk bands from the Ruhrpott area, where some variables of the local punk scene, such bands as Upright Citizens were present today, others are only here to hear and then fade away. In 1999 the label Teenage Rebel Records has been re-released this record. The name of the compilation is a play on words and refers to the represented music on this album, which was then still referred to punk as it does not use the term 'Deutschpunk'. "The somewhat strange title is derived from the name of the label H'Art in 1981 and still new term Hardcore, which at that time for the harder, faster punk stood here on the sampler (the term German Punk was not in use)." Well, that was back then. A brilliant soundtrack indeed and even nowadays very audible.

2.17 / Rebel Song - CLOX
3.Ich Will Hier Raus - BLUTTAT
4.Fuck The Army - UPRIGHT CITIZENS

THE BLITZKRIEG BOYS - Back From Nowhere 1989

The Blitzkrieg Boys was formed 1985 in Tampere, when Marty Blitzkrieg (vox) got an idea to form a band that would be a mixture of the Ramones, Cockney Rejects and the Misfits. Soon he found Gil (guitars), Kukka (bass) and Jussi (drums), excatly the right guys to play this kind of music. In 1988 they relelased their first record in form of an EP on Raktor Records with seven melodic punkies. I bought that in 1989 at a gig in the Marquee in Hamburg when Broken Toys and the Schwarzen Schafe toured through Germany. I was instantly elated. After a period without Punkrock I came in the mid 90s in touch with their only album which was released on the German label Teenage Rebel Records in December 1989 (1000 copies, 225 in orange vinyl and the rest black). The production is bit cleaner (which is almost too much) than the EP but I love the ramonesque style and they make it perfect as well. In 2011 the Finnish label Woimasointu released an album called 'Too Old To Die Young' but I have not yet heard it. All Right, enjoy the Blitzkrieg Boys and a nice weekend!

NIKKI & THE CORVETTES - s/t LP 1980

Formed in the late 70s in Detroit, Nikki & the Corvettes were part of the late 1970s/early 80s girl group revival that rode in on the tidal wave of PowerPop bands popular at the time. Their only album is a PowerPop masterpiece with a decent dose of punk rock, a perfect mix and they in top form. A lot of infos are present in the web so I use the following words because this review describes their LP very clearly: "If the hormones of teenage girls could talk, they would probably sound very much like this trio of singers from Detroit who have debuted with one of the most delightful records of the year so far. Nikki Corvette, Kristi Kay (who has since left the group) and Lori Jeri have recaptured the spirit of the old Shangri-Las and crank out enthusiastic tunes about partying, boys, drive-ins, boys, dancing and boys. And if they approach the "girl group" musical genre with less wit than Blondie, they at least have more conviction. Among the dozen originals (all penned by Nikki and lead guitarist Peter James) in this album are such cheeky offerings as Back Seat Love, Gimme, Gimme (who says the Me Decade is over?) and C'mon, which confesses "Don't know where I'm headed/But I still gotta go." The back-up band is less precise than the Corvettes (as is the technical production) but even that can't restrain the charms of the group's gee-whiz-thank-you-Ms. songs. For some odd reason, no major label has signed this cheery trio." (Picks & Pans Review, February 23, 1981, Vol. 15, #7) - Nikki & The Corvettes disbanded in 1981. At this time, it was still unusual to have a woman front rock band. The notoriety that Nikki Corvette earned for her role in breaking those barriers led to her being namechecked in the song "Gimme My Radio" by The Donnas. So this whole album is so damn catchy and you can't stop listening to it.

THE LAST - She Don't Know Why I'm Here 7'' 1978

The Last is a Los Angeles based power pop band formed in the 1970s around three brothers: Joe (guitar + vocals), Mike (vocals), and David Nolte (bass guitar). They released several albums on SST Records and Bomp! Records. The Nolte brothers formed the band in 1976, and the band's sound was influenced by garage rock, surf rock, folk rock and psychedelic rock. After three self-financed singles, the band was signed by Bomp! Records, who issued the debut album L.A. Explosion! in 1979 (described by Trouser Press as "a near-perfect debut"). They reverted to their own Backlash label for second album Look Again (1980), and split up in the mid-1980s. The band were considered a major influence on the psychedelia-influenced LA bands of the mid eighties. The band was reformed in 1988 and signed to SST Records, releasing two albums in 1988 and 1989. The band went on hiatus in 1990, with Joe Nolte feeling "sort of disheartened" after the band's first national US tour (they had previously only played in California). So this is The Last's debut single with two melodic power pop tracks and they could really nail some harmonies that were pretty atypical in early punk. A true classic!!!

STENGTE DØRER - Sangen Om Vår Vidunderlige Verden 1988

This is the debut album, released by the German label Double A Records, by this Norwegian language hardcore/punk band from Oslo, with origins in the environment around the Blitz house Pilestredet, started in the spring of 1985. Those who were behind the band was Anders Eide (guitar), Harald Tredal (drums) & Dag Rasmussen (bass) - all had a history in Svart Framtid - and Hasse Jørgensen (vox). The songs are all decorated in the typical merciless hardcore/punk sound which is a mark of quality and here I must not long explain what's on it. Tough and loud tunes, brilliant production and each number is a blast. They manage with their energy and untamed rage to ignite a fire. And for those who do not speak the Norwegian language, like me, an English translation is attached, one more plus point. - So, the holy thunder god Thor has once again slammed mercilessly. Great band, awesome record, download obligation!!!!

KUDDKRIG - Fly The Jolly Jumper & Fight Against The Law EP 1981

Here's a rare record by a band from Kristinehamn and this is their debut EP. The group did a single that was really rough. Two of the members of Skäms founded Kuddkrig and there is a drastic change that has occurred. Kuddkrig plays calm and melodic music and when I listen to this EP the first bands which came into my mind are the Doors & Beatles (well, somehow 60's style). The title track is a nice melodic song and the 3rd 'Stenstalidens Ögon' is a little different with piano and delicate swedish vocals. The other two songs are made to listen to it everyday, pretty charmin' and I would not say that this EP is a powerpop one, you know. The band could probably be really good just to find a little bit different and personal style for comparison to the other swedish punk pearls here. Believe me, this record melts every woman's heart.

LOS NIKIS - La Amenaza Amarilla EP 1981 + Sangre En El Museo De Cera EP 1982

Los Nikis (The Polo Shirts) was a Spanish pop-punk group of the 80's that were associated with la Movida. They come with songs that feature very simple music and humorous lyrics. Founded 1979 in a suburbia from Algete which lies in the comarca de Alcalá in the autonomous community of the Community of Madrid. They are known as "The Ramones Of Algete". Los Nikis were capable to create a good collection of tunes with just four chords and seven notes. Two brothers from the drummer Rafa Cabello created Discos Lollipop label and, logically, Los Nikis released on this label some signature songs from their career. In 1983, Rafa Cabello leaves the band and entered Johnny Canut, Nacho Canut's brother, ex-"Dinarama". In 1985 they signed for 3 Cipreses/DRO and released three albums before they split-up in 1989. In the nineties they recorded a new album, "Más De Lo Mismo", that closes the band's history. Nowadays, only Joaquín Rodríguez is active as part of "Los Acusicas".

NEW HEARTS - Another Teenage Anthem 7'' 1977

New Hearts evolved out of college band Splitz Kidz, who met at Loughton College, comprising Ian Page (vocals), Dave Cairns (guitar), John Harty (bass) and drummer Rob Milne. At the start of 1977, Milne was replaced by Matt McIntyre (he later drummed with The Clash on the Anarchy In The UK tour). Re-naming themselves New Hearts, they were signed by CBS Records at the height of punk rock just two months after their debut gig, and with an average age of just 17, directly from CBS managing director Maurice Oberstein, who had taken a personal interest in the band. New Hearts recorded two singles for CBS, "(Just Another) Teenage Anthem" and "Plain Jane", inspired by acts like Dr. Feelgood and Eddie & The Hot Rods. They also supported The Jam during their lengthy UK Modern World tour, and accompanied them at the 1978 Reading Festival, where they were joined on stage by Hawkwind guitarist Huw Lloyd Langton. Disillusioned, Page and Cairns then folded New Hearts, and set about creating a new band inspired by the dress code and musical stylings of the 1960s Mod movement, changing their name to Secret Affair and leading the whole Mod Revival movement. In October 2009, a new CD containing 23 songs (20 for CBS and three pre-CBS demos) was issued by Cherry Red Records. Nineteen of the recordings are previously unissued.

SOCIAL UNREST - SU-2000 1985

Social Unrest hailed from Hayward, near San Francisco, in 1980.They soon established themselves as one of the leading forces of the Bay Area early HC Thrash scene. The manic, political vocals of Creetin K-os were well supported by screeching guitars & ultra-fast tempos. The band released their 1st 7" (now much sought after) in 1981 on Infra Red Records. "Making Room For Youth" was produced by none other than Dead Kennedys guitar player East Bay Ray.

SU teamed up again with Ray a year later to produce their classic "Rat In A Maze" 12", released summer 82 on their Libertine Label. The seven songs of this EP are mostly fast except for "I love You", a PIL-like tune. "Red, White & Blue", with it's numerous speed changes, remains a highlight. They also appeared on Maximum Rock'n'Roll masterpiece 47 bands compilation, "Not So Quiet On The Western Front". The band played a lot with all the glory bands of the time, when the usual band brawls headed for some changing.

Original Band members Mark Monti & Danny Norwood remained the core of SU, Bass player John Vollick moved out to band management. In came Ray Vegas on bass duties & Jimi Brogan on guitar. Jason Honea, a Darby Crash fanatic, completed the new SU after the departure of Creetin K-os. The new line-up developped the original, screeching SU sound and brought it to new heights on the band's 1st full length "SU-2000" (again on Libertine) in 1985. Honea's melodic tones & thoughtful lyrics added a lot of deepness to all the great songs featured on "SU2000" : "I wanna be heard","Jimmy Rocks", "Rat In A Maze" are all
scorchers, while "Stranger Inside" & "Out My Window" have some really cool guitar bitterness works that will become one of SU's later trademarks.

A year later, the band released what is probably their masterpiece (unlike most bands, they never put out a weak record, though) ,the mighty "Before the Fall" LP (on Libertine in the US, Konurrel in Europe). The songwriting reached new grounds with songs like "American Steel","Golgotha","The New Tribes". The band was still fast & aggressive, but the vocals & guitars added great, original harmonies that couldn't be heard on any other record by any band. The slower numbers like "Night of the Long Knives" worked quite well too. Social Unrest now really had a sound of their own & were firmly established as one of California's most important band.

They heavily toured the US (they did it 4 or 5 times), opening for the Descendents' last show, appeared on the Viva Umkhonto compilation & got rave reviews of "Before The Fall". They embarked on their 1st Euro Tour in September 87, playing a show in Germany that would end on the"Mental Breakdown" live Album (on Lost & Found).

Ray left the band to join Attitude Adjustment, Ron Isa filled in to record the band's last album, "Now & Forever", released Fall 88. Some of the best SU songs are there w/ "Katarina Witt", "I'm The Nation" & "Sins Of Paris". "Handcuffs Too Tight" features the welcome back of Creetin K-os for a thrasher that brings back the band's original sound. The band called it quit shortly after. (Source: gug65free)

PERSECUTED PHARISEES - Keep Smilin' 1990

Persecuted Pharisees is a pretty cool punk band from Frankfurt with female vox. In 1990 they released unfortunately their only record on Alm-Räcords and on it are fourteen aggressive and snotty punk rock pearls. At the time of then German reunification the lyrics are against any and all: banker, cunning and false friends, unity in the ffm. scene, etc.. and steffi's wild voice gives this record a damn cool feelin' and for me a rare classic (b.t.w. 1A cover). A highlight was a gig, I think it was a sunday, with the legendary Gorilla Biscuits here at the Maxims, a more disco shitsucker place - but I still remember exactly, the gig starts pretty late, the store was full with iros and coloured hairs, leather-jackets and hardcore's and it was pretty hot inside and I was good drunk and both bands played hotter than hell and provided some historical moments in my Punk-Existence. Well, nowadays the Maxim's is no more just like the band, I think they dissolved in 1991 or so. And now: one-two-three four...open the door and let's keep smilin'!

WARHEADS - Dagen Är Natt EP 1979

Killer band from Sweden and one of the best records I think and today a very sought EP among the record fetishists. Warheads was a Swedish punk band, active from 1979 to 1981. It is often regarded as one of the more influential groups within the Swedish punk, despite not had time to give out any album. Several members continued in the 1980s in internationally renowned groups. Warheads are counted by some as a precursor to thrash metal. Before Warheads they called Mob (sometimes as Mob -77), whose founded 1976 at school in Stockholm, line-up consisted of Mats Cavonius (vox), Stellan Hemringe and Janne Oldeus (guitars), Thomas Biström (bass) and Peter Oman and "Bruppe" (drums). The band made itself felt in particular by Cavonius on a show, inspired by Iggy Pop, cut himself with a knife in the stomach. He also participated in a punk movie from 1978 by Stig Larsson (his thesis about the Dramatic Institute). In 1978 Biström leave the band and was replaced by Björne Fröberg (later in The Nomads) on bass. The band changed its name to Aoouh! They recorded a few songs but neither the band managed to record a record and Cavonius left and Pelle Almgren become the new singer. Once again the group changed its name to the Warheads. Finally in 1979 they put out their only record via RIP Records (P-Nissarna + Brända Barn) and the EP is a damn classic with four brilliant catchy goodies  which gave the group a certain reputation also outside Stockholm. In 1980 they participated on the compilation Let It Out on Adventure Records.

Warheads played some concerts in Stockholm, but soon began to crack at the seams. In 1981 Almgren left Warheads and that was the end. Almgren went on to found the glam rock band Easy Action, Fröberg became a member of the Nomads. A group of Swedish musicians from bands Maryslim, Backyard Babies, Hellacopters and The Maggots, who called themselves Urrke T & The Midlife Crisis, gave in 2004 out a 3 track single with covers of old Swedish punk songs, including Aoouh! / Warheads "Center Of Lies ". Enjoy!

FRESHLY RIOTS - Hope 1984

Freshly Riots was a Danish punk and post-punk band from Himmerland and formed in Gedsted in October 1981. Their first release is the raw and wild Delightfully Fresh EP which came out in 1983 via Bondeskiver. In late August 1983 Jørn went out and was replaced on guitar by Lars Gosta. Two months later goes Freshly Riots in ARP studio and recorded its first album Hope. Again you have Claus from Johnny and the Cold Demons helps to assist in production. In aninterview in Danish Sam shortly before release, Bo explains that the record title is about though group members are pessimists, they have still some hope left. Hope was released again on Bondeskiver in May 1984. In the period around the publication of Hope Bo moves to Aalborg and goes out of the group, the vowel is then taken over by Mike. In May, sends Bond discs capture plate Complication, here contributes Freshly Riots with the two numbers A Fall and Infantry. After releasing this awesome record the band have change their name to Freshly and Lars goes out of the group what causes the Freshly end of the year gives a concert at the Youth House as a trio without guitar. Freshly are contacted by the English label Rot Records, inviting them to contribute to a compilation tape. That is why the group in January 1985 again in ARP studio and record the two tracks Fry and Born Under Stars to collect. The numbers are however in April also released on a cassette of the Bond discs. Lars is now again become a part of Freshly and in July they played at Roskilde Festival. Winter 1985/1986 used to rehearse new material Freshly in February 1986 recording of the ARP program. Production is carried out in collaboration with Charlie, an engineer assigned to the studio. Group's last album Air (Quoth She) will be published 16th April 1986. The group's last concert were played at the house in Århus at 27. February 1987. Freshly dissolved finally in May 1989 when Mike and Michael moved to Århus. Brilliant Album!!!

HOTEL MORPHILA ORCHESTER - Dead In The Head 7'' 1982

Hotel Morphila Orchester from Vienna was a 1978 born musicproject by the university professor and multimedia artist Peter Weibel. The other core members of the project where the artist Loys Egg and the musician Paul Braunsteiner, known from the legendary 60s & 70s "proto punk band" Novak's Kapelle. Further musicians where Franz Machek and Wolfgang Steiner. "In Vienna it was an ancient practice, that every hotel or cafe had its own orchestra. Since this practice doesn't exist anymore, we are named after a hotel that doesn't exist too." (digest of a press release by Peter Weibel). In 1981 they recorded their first 7'' Dead In The Head for Extraplatte, which is a good example for "punk meets art". Great two catchy punk songs and the lyrics are very provocative & honest and for me this band is one of the best Punkband from Austria.

MOTHER'S RUIN - ...Want More 1981

Formed in early 1978 in Zurich the band released one year later the superb Godzilla 12'' which is in my opinion the best Mother's release. In 1981 follows their first album, released via Off Course Records, which is more pop oriented but that makes ...Want More not bad. In general, Mother's Ruin were one of the most original bands of the swiss scene. In their rural seclusion they were pointed out to make punk, because they had heard that this was the last kick. Their sound, which could develop as completely independent and not influenced by England is largely & melodic and what this album clearly underlines. Find more on these both compilations - Swiss Wave/Punk Rules!

TOO MUCH - Who You Wanna Be 7'' 1978

Another one from the Wanted-List and the secret is now out: the b-side of these brilliant 7inch. I think, the title track is well known, because I used the song for my selfmade comp. R...Is For Records (essential!) and it's by far the best what these guys recorded. The flip is as well as the a-side quite delicious. A short fast number, sounds a bit sixty style with a fine bass playin' and damn good guitars. Fuck, what should I say? Grab their second Kick Me One More Time record and listen to all five goodies and relax!

SODS - Minutes To Go 1979

One of the best punk rock record and in my personal top ten at number three: Minutes To Go, the brilliant debut album released by Danish Punx SODS (later named Sort Sol). It was released in 1979 and is often referred to as Denmark's first punk album. I bought the CD in 1997 at my vacation in Denmark in a very cool record-store in Odense called Moby-Disc Records, I saw this and without any doubt I bought this little piece, even with six bonus songs. Costs me 130 danish crowns which was a lot of money. But it was all worth!! Scandinavian Punk at its best (today we call it KBD), right up my alley and brings back lots of good memories.

NORGEZ BANK - Life Of Rian! EP 1980

One more rare classic KBD post for all of you who just sitting there and be proud of your collection. I put it right now in your ears. Any objections? - Norgez Bank was a punk band from Tromsø who published Tromsø's first punk-EP, recorded 21 + 22.October 1980. The band felt that the studio had used an old master tape where you could still hear the show singer Jack Berntsen. Despite this, the plate is relatively good sound quality and production to be a Norwegian punk album from 1980. The album is among the rarer of the Norwegian punk records from the early 1980's, but is in circulation among collectors both at home and abroad. Participants on the first EP is Erik Smith Meyer (vocals), Alf "Alfena" Krog Seth (bass), Niels Hoegh (guitar) & Tor Harald Jensen (drums). The band performed including on Zikk Zakk in 1981 with the Paris of the EP and was used as the frontman of NRK youth rebellion in Tromsø in the 80s with songs like: "Tromso Burn" and "Society's Servants". It is beyond doubt that Norgez Bank lead singer did youth rebellion in Tromsø's eighties known throughout the country and focused on a growing problem, local democracy, total ignorance of disorderly youth. The lyrics to Norgez Bank bordered between anarchy and rebellion, and urged young people to act themselves. This led to many confrontations with the existing environment. Tromsø Sparebank did not want to release a commercial cassette targeting youth because texts Norgez Bank had. The band stood their ground and the bank gave in - to reach young people. The publisher of the band's second album (Energy from Lethargy) preferred not to have anything to do with the band after the release when the band was criticized (in the program Youth Radio Newspaper) record label that wanted to control everything - from manufacturer to distribution. Niels Hoegh and Alf Sigurd Krog Seth was also approached by the Swedish P3 that created a situation report from Tromsø and the youth rebellion and used Norgez Bank music.

OLE8ROS - s/t EP 1994

OLE8ROS is a band of which I have absolutely no details except that they are from Athens. Probably this EP is their first and only release. Anyway, here are three melodic hardcore songs, all sung in greek and with female/male vocals. A little pearl I would say but the sound is little bit weak. Well, this is punk rock or? Mention should also be the cool cover artwork.

THE BEEZ - The Beez EP 1979

Today I wanna post a few requests and let's switch to the UK and find this rare jewel. Originally formed 1977 in Chesham as 'Bloo Lite' then changed into The Beez, Robert (vox + guitar), Gordon (vox + guitar), Timothy (bass) and Paul (drums). They released two 7inches on their own label Edible. Excellent stuff how I like it. You should sample England Belongs To Me for more early classic UK sound. The Japanese label 1977 Records has brought a small re-release of this record out in 2010.

THE RUDE BAND - I'm A Punk 7'' 1982

You wanna know what punk is? Well, The Rude Band from Sydney tell you. Doug Mulray brought this rare 7inch out on OZ Records and the title track is a damn cool one. The b side is not my cup of tea, a lame Instrumental without climax. Well, you can not have everything! Today its still hot and I just move out to do something.
