SLIME - Musa, Göttingen 04.10.2012

In 2012 entered Slime from Hamburg the stage again and in the baggage their new record which appeared almost twenty years after the Schweineherbst album. Of course I was curious and had to see them live (last was 1990 in the Fabrik). Although I did not like the new album very much, I was hot for the gig, especially as I wanted to hear the old classics. So we go to the Zoom and experienced a refreshing evening with lots of fun, beer and a band in an euphoric playing mood, as if they had never been away. Grandios! Now here are quite good recordings from their show in Göttingen, enjoy!

CIRCLE JERKS - Live @ The Fillmore 24.05.1982

Yeah, one more excellent live recordings from my favorite live band Circle Jerks. I had the luck to experience them twice and the gentlemen are giants with their energetic short, fast pieces. Of course, I have all the records until the VI, the last (Oddities, Abnormalities & Curiosities) is a disaster. Funny that I didn't digitize any of them, I should change. I recommend you another show at the Fabrik/Hamburg 02.12.1987 and as you know Keith is still active in the famous combo OFF! which was formed 2010, nor harder, furious, pissed hardcore and pure energyProof of this are recordings from a gig 2013 in Sydney which stumbles your speakers. Enough bla bla, fire-free for finest American Hardcore!

LOST KIDS - Live Copenhagen 2005

Ok, the response to yesterday's post is modest and I admit is a matter of taste. Let's start today's cold gray Sunday with an excellent live gig by the Danish Lost Kids which was recorded in Copenhagen. Connoisseurs know they have released two albums, some 7Inches and compilation tracks in the 80's and how it came to this concert eludes my knowledge. Anyway, the sound quality is excellent and powerful and presents the band in top form, was certainly a nice show. Good start for breakfast, continue ripping vinyl. BOTS - Aufstehn 1980

Now I present you my only Hippie record that I still own and do you know that too? You love a record at young age, then a change of life follows, you sort out your records, put the old stuff back and memories stop you from giving away the slab, so I feel with Aufstehn. When I think about how many times we have roared 'Sieben Tage Lang' I still get goose bumps today. Bots is folk rock group from the southern city of Eindhoven and were successful in the Netherlands and Germany, formed in 1974 by Hans Sanders and they initially published only songs in Dutch. The lyrics were predominantly political, socially critical, cynical and influenced by the peace movement of the seventies. After appearing at the festival Rock Gegen Rechts in Frankfurt/Main in June 1979 they received an offer to recorded their songs in German, well-known writers like Wolf Biermann, Dieter Hildebrandt, Hanns Dieter Hüsch, Hannes Wader and Günter Wallraff helped with the translations. In addition, the band were a few times guest in the GDR, first time 1976 for the Festival of the Political Song in East Berlin, where the group dedicated the song Sieben Tage Lang to poet Wolf Biermann, at the time for ten years a performance ban, last at the largest Open Air Festival of the GDR on 19 June 1988 on the Radrennbahn Weißensee in East Berlin. After the decline in popularity and the release of the Dutch album Paradijs in 1990, the members of the group retired to private life. Great songs are: Nichtsnutz, Der Mann & Krüppel. On 3 November 2007 Hans died at the age of 61.

APPETITE FOR NOTHING - Don't Kiss The Frog 1997

The small Piraeus label Wipe Out! Records give us this limited to 500 hand-numbered copies by this four piece which formed 1994 in Peristeri/Athens. They started playing as Αποκτήνωση and after two self-released demo cassettes they changed their name to "Ορεξη Για Τίποτα" ("Appetite For Nothing"). They released this full-length album and just before they disbanded in 1999 a last 7Inch with three goodies via Fes Ulopas Records in an edition of 300. The band consisted of Alexis (vocals + guitar), Eleftheria (vocals), Stephanos (bass) and Christos (drums)Twelve catchy mid-tempo böller with female/male vocals and I already know today where I spend my holidays this year :)

V/A - A Country Fit For Heroes 1&2 1994

A very cool re-release is this pretty round disc and both records were originally released in 1982 and 1983 by the legendary short-lived English label No Future Records and we all know the classics. On these both compilations we enjoy some bands which didn't made a record and some published their stuff that is in demand today. On this sucker we listen to twenty-four passionate, angry punk bashers which I would like to have experienced in Top Of The Pops, haha... After releasing twenty-nine singles and nine LPs, No Future folded.

1.The Future Must Be Ours - BLITZKRIEG
2.Die With Dignity - THE VIOLATORS
3.Government Stinks - THE VIOLATORS
4.Fight Back - HOSTILE YOUTH
5.Government Downfall - THE SAMPLES
6.Jerusalem - ONE WAY SYSTEM
7.Blue Patrol - ATTAK
8.Orders - PROTEST
9.C.L.A. - CRUX
10.Action Man - DISTORTION
11.Power Schemes - PSEUDO SADISTS
12.Whose Bomb - CHAOTIC YOUTH
13.Unknown Soldiers - PATROL
14.Nurse Nurse - PATROL
15.Blood Mania - MANIA
16.Did He Or Didn't He - GOVERNMENT LIES
17.Condemned - ON PAROLE
18.Criminal Crew - CRIMINAL DAMAGE
19.Country Boy Rocker - A.B.H.
20.Wanna Riot - A.B.H.
21.Snow Blindness - CADAVEROUS CLAN
22.Storm Trooper Tactics - IMPACT
23.Fight And Die - INTENSIVE CARE

ASIA - s/t LP 1982

Today I just want to bring you a fantastic album closer what I gladly regulary dig out and me kicks back to my youth and nostalgic moments create. With that everything is already been said and now I rip the vinyl, I know it's a bit commercial but I like the damn music. A bit info: Asia are an English rock band formed in London 1981 and the most commercially successful line-up was its original, which was a supergroup of four members of different progressive rock bands of the 1970s: lead vocalist and bassist John Wetton of King Crimson and U.K., guitarist Steve Howe of Yes, keyboardist Geoff Downes of Yes & the Buggles and drummer Carl Palmer of Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Their eponymous self titled debut album gained considerable commercial success, spending nine weeks at number one on the United States album chart and selling over four million copies in the States alone. The album sold over ten million worldwide and has never been out of print. In the United States the band sold out every date on their debut tour, which began at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York on 22. April 1982, continued in theatres but quickly expanded into massive arenas because of high ticket demand. Asia would go on to receive a Grammy Award nomination as Best New Artist of 1982. Both Billboard & Cash Box named Asia's debut the #1 album of the year. Well, maybe one or two of you stores similar memories with this record and share it with me, I'm curious... sad words at the end, John Wetton died in his sleep from complications of colorectal cancer at the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital in Christchurch/Dorset, on 31 January 2017. What remains: unforgotten songs of another time.

HLM GANG - Local Sessions 1981-1982

Great never before released record by this fabulous early Swiss Punk outfit from Lausanne! This superlimited LP was privately released by the band and is limited to just 300 copies only. The first 100 copies came with numbered backcover (of which the first twenty-five copies were signed by the band). HLM Gang were existing from 1978 - 1983. They were one of the few classic early Swiss Punk bands to never release a record. Their lineup was consisting of Paquito (guitar), Nenel (vocals), Zaf (drums, backing vocals), and Ptit Jos (vocals/bass). HLM were sharing the stage with Discolokosst (Geneva), Sub Rescue (Lausanne), The Debils (Biel), Marionetz (Munich/Germany), Baramine (Valais), TNT (Zurich), Technycolor (Geneva), Mother's Ruin (Zurich), Starshooter (Lyon, France) and and and... as well as with several other classic punk bands. About three years after the breakup of HLM, PTIT JOS and ZAF (a.k.a. CLode) went on to form the fairily well known minimalistic electronic post Punk duo I SCREAM. Finally thirty years after the forming of HLM, we are in for a real treat in form of this historic LP of previously unreleased 1981-1982 tracks by the main Lausanne Punk band from the first two generations. The songs on this album speak for themselves, and are still as important today as they used to be back when they were recorded. Great!!!!!

COMMANDO 9MM - Commando 1990

Before football starts a visit a short visit to the Iberian peninsula. Their third album, simply titled Commando, was recorded in 1989 and come out at independent label called Tirana, owned by band manager Pito. In 1990, the CBS label was interested and published the same year the album with terrible consequences for the group, as Sony bought CBS and restructured the entire business, discarding everything that they were not interested. This album is currently out of print and very hard to find (discogs/ebay more than €140,-!!!!), because the record had a bad distribution. This fact and cause internal disagreements the band first split in 1991. This shows once more that the major labels are only profit oriented and thus the artist into a corner. Fuck Them!!! But apart from these asses Commando 9MM have ignited with their third longplayer another atomic bomb. Already their debut Amor Frenopatico from 1986 lit at first time, tiptop melodic mid-tempo punk rock as I like and always listen in my car... wonderfully soothing. As well here appear eleven more pearls in this direction which I like almost better. The sound is better by miles and the goodies sound more mature. 'Camino Hacia La Ruina', 'Annie, Annie', 'Cuidado Con Los Lunes' or 'Chica Medicinal', 'Mi Amigo Jack' are songs for eternity and while I write these lines the record goes through for the third time. 100% addictive, honest! If this music's not infect you, you are definitely disturbed. Would be interested what you think. Salut!

THE DECEASED - Death Trip 7'' 1985

Long ago that I posted a 7Inch and now a little rare thing by rather unknown Punk band from Wigan, Lancashire/England called The Deceased which were active 1979-1984 and members were Gassy (vocals), Hatty (guitar/bass), Poddy (bass), Eddie (drums) and this is their only record. After two demos Insane Records grabbed them on their 1983 compi I've Got Those Demo-Lition Blues! where they open the slab with one song. A few tape contributions followed until finally the French label New Wave Records used another one for the ingenious 1984 The Second (I think I have that) album and then they also pressed this little piece. Death Trip is an excellent mid-tempo tune with nice distorted guitars plus solo and Consumer Addict is a cool slower stomper. Round thing that!
