NIVEAU NULL - s/t EP 1981

Now a brilliant release which was long on my Wanted-List and I'm proud to present you this absolutly rare gem of a nice german punk record by Niveau Null, active from 1979 until 1981. Released on Heimat Records, a small independent punk rock label in Bremen which was founded 1980 and they were focussed by bands which came mostly from Bremen and the surrounding area, and all records came in a fuckin' small edition and not every one has a cover. "Then the record came out, but the cover weren't finished, so they decided to use the stencil for most of the covers of the record. When the covers actually arrived, most of the records were sold without the regular cover." (adsw77) - I've searched a fuckin' long time for this release and when I listen to this garage early '77 punk style sound I'm happy to start blogging. Without I presumably would stand in the shit! Four brilliant songs here and they also feauterd on awesome compilations: The Best Of The Rest 1/2, Nur Hits [Tapes], Unser Sämbler, Bloodstains Across Germany 1 + 2 (coming soon) and Break The Rules #9. In 2015 WSDP released a fantastic compilation of thirteen songs in an edition of 100 copies which sold out within a few hours. Cheers!!

SIEGER 1957 - Regen Über Tokio EP 1982

The releases from the Bremen based label Heimat Records are always interesting. Musically, they move between early German Punk, NDW or experimental stuff and sure some redundant records including. I like the label because they set not specifically in one direction such as AGR or Weird System did, rather they gave bands from Bremen and surrounding areas the chance to put their music among the people. They wanna stay small and nowadays Heimat plates are extremely rare and precious. If I can catch one, I don't hesitate. About Sieger 1957 there is not much to tell. A few members were active in AGM, the best punk band in Bremen, and this is their only release. Three tracks you like or dislike. It starts with a reggae tune, sax-intro and lapping comfortably forward. No real Punk cracker at all but nice playing as well. 'Aufstand In Der Badewanne (Riot In The Bathtub)' attracts the pace and is a nice two minute NDW/Punk goodie. The last one 'Europa' is the best for me here, much music like an instrumental and good lyrics about living in our narrow Europe. Check it out!

AGM - Das Ist Heimat 1980

Another lost treasure of the small Bremer label Heimat Records is the album by AGM (ArbeitsGemeinschaft Rock) and I came to the band, Michael (vocals + guitar), Uwe (bass), Wolfgang (guitars) and Peter (drums), via the great compilation "Unser Sämbler No.1" which I bought cheaply on a record fair in the year 19??, represented there with two very good pieces and I searched for their one and only a long fucking time and finally after many birthdays I have her. Who now expects a typical german punk record as it recorded by many others in the early 80's will be surprised. Eleven songs at a leisurely pace, most over three minutes long plus exquisite lyrics about social ills, personal depths, longings, TV and war are described intellectually and I like that pretty much. On the cover is a number given, probably a limited edition but how many remains a secret. By the way, I added this time the booklet within. Now I dismiss you into the weekend, macht was Sinnvolles!

V/A - Musik Aus Bremen 1982

Another pearl from the small Bremen label Heimat Records whose records are nowadays extremely rare and much sought after because not many were pressed. From thirteen publications, two grandiose compilations are represented and on this we find not only punk but also a bit experimental, pop and new wave. As far as I know, an info sheet was enclosed, which unfortunately I don't have. Musically very pleasant selection and for me an important record of German underground activity. You can find some of the bands in the blog. Get It!

STUMPF AG - Amerika 12'' 1983

So all you nerds, today is the 5th one without Äppler and I rummage in my treasure box and put out this classic record of my favorite Bremer label Heimat Records. A fantastic and rather unknown german Punk/Wave 12inch and all the covers are hand-sprayed and unique. It's told that label owner Wolfgang Stettler denies that this 12' has officially been released at all but the band got some hundred copies for which they planned to have individual covers but only made around 100 which had a cover (the rest was given away for free without sleeve at concerts). Stumpf AG came from Nuremberg and chances are low that copies of this record will find the way outside of that area. The only other recording they did was for the Nuremberg compilation Die Welt Ist Klein (falls den jemand hat würde ich mich freuen über nen Rip!). All four goodies shine with a brisk pace, great sound and critical lyrics (yeah, we love america, our army too...). Was soll ich erzählen? Scheißgeile Platte von einer sehr coolen Band aus'm Stoiberland, macht Lust auf mehr. Fuckin' rare and fuckin' good!

KLEENEX AKTIV - Weisse Rosen 7'' 1982

Kleenex Aktiv was a follow-up of the legendary punk heroes Dirt Shit from Vienna. The original bandmembers from 1981 where Rolli Rostig (vox), Billy Nutella (guitar), Harry Müller (Bass) and Ronnie Urini (drums). The Band was the best sounding pogo punk band until 1982/83 when they changed to New Wave/Pop, a result of the cooperation with a major label. The fast and faster drums of Ronnie and the massiv guitar & bass of Rolli & Harry sounded like an explosion in the heart of Vienna. Their concerts where legendary, but they never found a way to record a song in a studio that met the expectations. In 1982 they recorded this 7'' on Panza-Platte Records which is not really bad and shows how great they're potential are. In 1985 the band broke after a lousy second 7'' called "Hilfe" which is a bit too poppy, not bad but not comparable to this one. Check them on Es Chaos Is Die Botschaft! and Heimat Bist Du Großer Söhne and the mega three record compilation De Guade Oide Zeit.

V/A - Soundtracks Zum Untergang 2 1982

One of the best compilations ever from Germany are the first two AGR goodies. All bands are great, all songs are damn classics. With these both I grew up. The music is just sensational and the lyrics quite offensive, creating real doom mood. I don't know how often this sound shows me that I'm on the right track (haha) and I mean together with the 'Keine Experimente' compilations from Weird system are these four records the most important and best plates which were ever published here in fuckin' germoney. I think the resonance overseas was accordingly positive. Today this record is re-released but the band name from the Böhse Onkelz was deleted... pitiful if you ask me, but that's another story. 19 glamorous tracks from the good old days and incidentally a request of a good friend is fulfilled. GET IT!!!

V/A - Heimat Bist Du Großer Söhne 1982

Panza-Platte released with this excellent sampler a colorful bunch of bands and band projects, which Panza and Ronald Fleischmann brought together for this limited editon of 1000 copies compilation. And here we have more punkrock on it and like the "Die Tödlich Dosis" comp. with rare and explosive stuff. Lined with a few live recordings and obscure songs is this LP again a pleasure of early Austrian subculture. Some Bands have also released more records and they are extrem rare nowadays. Get it!!

V/A - 1984: The First Sonic World War 1984

This great Compilation is not really new in Blogland but this is my copy and all scans are within and I think, the 1984 serie by the French label New Wave Records has spawned a remarkable series of international combos over time that sooner or later made it to some notoriety. The first part consists mainly French sounds, but that changed with each additional one and bands from all over the world were asked to send their demos for the following volumes and exclusive, four comps in all, were created. Rare items these days I would say. A short review: "This French Sampler contains a wide variety of Punk styles: classical, garage, thrash, skunk (big in France), and drum-machine/synth Punk (which the French seem to have cornered the market on). Some choice thrash, and there’s lots of good stuff and a dozen more. Tres bien!" (Tim Yohannan, MRR #15 • July 1984) A little Oi! stuff is also there. I like the slab for its perfect mix of songs and the artwork is also excellent. Never boring and selectable at any time. It's getting warm today, so a little trip to the lake... music on.
