TEENAGE HEAD - King St. Teddy Boys 2007

Damn good record now by Teenage Head from Hamilton, Ontario. The group was formed in Hamilton by Frankie Venom (Frank Kerr), Gord Lewis, Steve Mahon and Nick Stipanitz. Stipanitz has since been replaced, and Venom died on October 15, 2008. He is survived by his two kids Samuel and Anjel-joe. The band's name is a reference to The Flaming Groovies' album Teenage Head, which Gord Lewis had seen advertised in a music magazine, but not heard, and decided that he, one day, would form a band with that name. They released records since 1979 and are still active; on this little nugget are twelve wild ass-kicker, side-a was recorded @ Thunder Sound, Oct. 31, 1978, Toronto and on the other @ Danforth Music Hall/Toronto 1979 and Western University, London/Ontario 1980; all songs in an amazing sound quality, Top!

TEENAGE HEAD - 78 2017

This rare record was released via Cameleon Records, 300 copies, and for the first time on vinyl: ten unreleased nuggets from 1978 by Teenage Head, a French band from Pau and they consisted of Ricky (vocals), Guy & Didier (guitars), Alain (bass) and Alain (drums). The five play solid catchy Rock'n'Roll including some sixties classics in a nice garage sound. Hard to believe that nobody took care of the band and it had to take over forty years before an album was finally released. You can listen to it on bandcamp and let yourself be convinced. I have to say, I get a little nostalgia when I listen to this music, and I feel like I'm back in the wild beat generation, a pleasant feeling... Top Record!!

THE CURSE - Shoeshine Boys 7'' 1978

Female band from Toronto the Curse were formed by Mickey Skin (vocals), Trixie Danger (guitars), Dr. Bourque (bass), Patzy Poizon (drums) in 1977 and this is their only 7Inch on Hi-Fi Records. The girls present us two rocking numbers, played solidly and somehow charming. Brilliant info from their fb page: "Ostensibly Canada's first female punk band (with challenges to that throne by the B-Girls and the Dishrags), Toronto's Curse were there right from the get-go, slotted to open for the Tools on a cancelled May 27, 1977 gig at the SEED Auditorium on McCaul, later backing up the Viletones at the infamous Crash'N'Burn club in June, and then taking the stage at CBGB a month later on an all-Canadian bill ("Outrageous Punk bands from Toronto!") that included the Viletones, the Diodes and Teenage Head. And singer Mickey Skin's spoken-word rant occupied the b-side of the frighteningly rare Punk artifact, the Centre for Experimental Art and Communication's 'Raw'/War' split seven-inch with the Diodes.

The Curse took the punk credo to its extreme, with Skin sporting a fake lobotomy scar on her forehead, pulling hot dogs out of her pants and then squashing them on stage. At Shoeshine Boy's record release party, they served a Purple Jesus punch that could only be drunk by sucking it out of tampons floating in the punchbowl. This was the Curse's only release as a band and it caused considerable outrage in a Toronto still cringing from the horrific rape and murder of 12-year-old shoeshine boy Emanuel Jaques along that city's seedy Yonge Street strip. 'Shoeshine Boy', despite its ripping guitar chords and perfunctory snarls, trod on touchy territory with its topical lyrics ("Emanuel with the curly hair/Why don't you climb on up these old stairs?.. They'll beat you/Mistreat you"), and especially with the singularly chilling chorus of "wrapped in a plastic baaaag". What's more, copies of Shoeshine Boy were then mailed to the jailed killers, further stoking the public's anger. Though the b-side is a bit of a toss-off, with its faux metal riffs and cutesy vocals, the record did manage a second pressing the following year with a new cover and the offending 'Shoeshine Boy' obligingly slotted to the b-side." (Bio by Michael Panontin) - Enough for now, weekend's near, Skloomo! 🍺🍻🍺

V/A - Killed By Dentistry #1 2000

From me a very long sought piece of vinyl and now I can finally put it from my Wanted List, the rarest KBD compilation around and this awesome record was pressed in an edition of 200 copies with only bands from the English language area of our beautiful planet. Each copy had a  unique "blood" splattered cover and if you believe the rumors outside a crazy dentist have fabricated this one. I think it rather less but perhaps comes a judge or astronaut to the same idea. A damn cool selection of some well know songs and obscure scree provide absolute listening pleasure. So the weekend can begin.

V/A - Now In Session 1982

A wonderfully summer day is coming to an end and I'm about to have a date with a charming woman now and what could be more pleasant than posting a real rarity and first of all my warmest thx to the ripper (which is unknown to me). Now In Session was published on Downtown Radio and this compilation is being offered on discogs for almost €1200, to be honest, this seller have a hole in the head because this slab doesn't have the attributes for an expensive record, I mean, there are records that might deserve such an offer, but here I find it a little exaggerated. - The recordings on this album are unique and I know the music-loving hordes among you can't longer wait to listen to this rare stuff, almost all of them did at least one single and are rather modest in their appearance in the underground world. It's also not a 100% punk record, but anyone who only expects such things on wdthtc can lick my ass anyway.

1.Proramme Love - THE OUTCASTS
2.Teenage Love Song - P45
3.Lady Of The Night - SWEET SAVAGE

V/A - Oi! Rare & Exotica Vol.2 1999

Let's continue with the second unofficial Volume of massive rare Oi! goodies and again released via Teenage Rebel Records and the selection is excellently cast with twenty-three tracks, which stretched out the middle finger towards to the boring establishment. This time with an info sheet and a few words from it: "Again a lot of more or less unknown bands from all over the world are featured with recordings from 1981-1998. Everybody should know the 80's Oi! bands from England, so there's no need to present them here again like on many other Oi! Compis. So discover something new, have fun and always remember: The world is big, manigfold and real Oi! is anti-rascist (which doesn't mean it's leftwing)." Together with Volume 1 this record offers a lot of exclusive material, good songs and every band doesn't sound dull or wooden, what means in the end: no stupid music goulash. Get both!
