COCKTAILBAR STAMMHEIM - s/t LP 2011

An interesting duo called Cocktailbar Stammheim comes from Düsseldorf and the band consists of Christian (vocals/guitars) and Alex (vocals/guitars/drums) and they make amazing music, and besides Klotzs, they're the only duo I know, and that alone is remarkable. This record is their debut and was released in an edition of 500 copies, plus 100 (different artwork) for P.Trash Club members only! Songs between the beauty of failure with an angry smile, anecdotes about the stupid society, and personal views of the global threat, all wrapped up in a scratchy catchy sound how I love, definitely not a summer record. Label info: "These two trashcan-shakers were already spilling their rot-gut Punkrock as Bud White on the Killed By Trash Vol.2 compilation and now decided to open up the Cocktailbar Stammheim for everybody who doesn’t want to sip that fancy-schmancy hipster sound through a narrow-minded straw anymore. These fourteen songs are as honest as Asbach and Cola with which you flush down the ugliness of a sheeple society drinking Wodka & RedBull and running for another season of Big Brother on fucking TV. Two guitars, two feet stomping on the drums and the love for the Wipers are the base for the Bar in which these fine German songs are shaken and stirred in the best Kommando Blumen Am Angeschissen Arsch Von Oma Hans way, refined with a little shot of EA80 and a dirty dash of Superhelicopter and served with a crying angry face. Though this may probably seem to be an untypical release for the P. Trash catalog, but this record has heart and soul and every swig of it runs ardently down our dusty throats, and that’s the way we like it!" - Me too Peter (R.I.P.)

DECLINO - Terra Bruciata 2LP 2017

I thought, I had already posted something from this great band, but even after checking it three times, I didn't find anything except a few compilationsWell, it's time to change that today, and the best way I can do that with a fucking great release by F.O.A.D. Records. We're talking about Declino, a four piece based in Turin, active between 1982 and 1985, and they were one of the most influential Hardcore/Punk bands in Italy. Members were Sandro (vocals), "Mungo V.R." Bertotti (guitars), Max Occhiena (guitars on A1 to A9), Silvio (bass), Orlando (drums on A1 to A6), Roberto (drums). They were featured in early MRR reports on the Italian Punk/HC scene and were also featured on the essential P.E.A.C.E. double LP compilation on Radical Records! Their style was a very energetic clash of speed, rage & creative songwriting. They were definitely the first in their area to develop a mature style that leaned more towards the intensity of full-on Hardcore than the rawness of Punk.

So this essentiell Anthology (limited to 550 copies on black, 150 copies on ultra clear vinyl) includes all their existing studio recordings, consisting of: the debut EP (1983), Mucchio Selvaggio split tape/LP with Negazione (1984), three unreleased tracks (1984), Eresia 12″ (1985) and a complete soundboard live recording (Denmark 1985) never released before in its entirety. I know all you maniacs of angry and raw energy will love this double album, and all you others as well.

WARFARE - Metal Anarchy 1985

Evo (vocals/drums), Gunner (guitars), Falken (bass) or better known as Warfare released their second blast via Neat Records and it's one of my absolute favorite records. I listened to the ten eruptions many times and I can say, this sound pushed myself in the direction of Hardcore & Punk. Here's a splendid review: "To the casual observer, Warfare's second album, Metal Anarchy, would seem like nothing more than a carbon copy of their first. But the welcome presence of heavy metal icon Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister in the producer's chair was just the first of many subtle difference-makers on hand. Besides putting his personal imprint on the material by giving it a distinct crunch and Motörhead-like echo, Lemmy may have also had a hand in helping Warfare fully embrace their metallic tendencies while putting their Punkrock habits behind them once and for all. Its two-faced title may have hinted otherwise, but the lyric choices and consistently ferocious attack inside were dead giveaways to this new focus.

Borrowing a page from Accept's book of tricks (their classic tune "Fast as a Shrak," to be precise), Warfare kicked off Metal Anarchy with a misleading snippet of the Sound of Music soundtrack before rudely interrupting it with their most vicious thrasher yet, the apropos-named "Electric Mayhem." Ensuing standouts like "Death Vigilance," "Living For The Last Days," "Wrecked Society," and the title track never waver in intensity, yet they remain surprisingly accessible thanks to their clear, uncomplicated arrangements. All of which helped ensure that this record would go down as Warfare's finest album, but would also make it an impossible act to follow." (Eduardo Rivadavia)

Fucking Great Record!!!

TV EYE - Mythoman 2014

The new week starts loud and excessive with the second album of the swedish combo TV Eye which came via Spastic Fantastic/Hoax Records (limited to 300 copies on white vinyl) and this goodie is full with fantastic material. Some time ago they visited this theater with their terrific My Generation EP and if you missed it you should definitely catch up. The album features thirty-two hot catchy blasts in the typical Spastic Fantastic "One Minute Song" style and fits perfectly to the Hardcore sound of the Eighties, fast & dynamic, and I hope that this cursed six-day week will pass at this pace. A start is already been made.

- Great Thx to Fredrik -

ADOLESCENTS - Welcome To Reality EP 1981

Let's continue with a great band and their debut, I think, a three song killer EP: Welcome To Reality by the Adolescents and this sucker was released in October 1981 on Frontier Records. Recorded after guitarist Rikk Agnew left the group, it was their only release recorded with guitarist Steve Roberts. The band broke up in August 1981, and when the EP was released two months later it was not well received (damn ignoramuses). When the Adolescents re-formed five years later, a new lineup re-recorded all three songs for their reunion album Brats In Battalions in 1987I think it's a successful and important record that paved the way for the Californians to become an essential band. And they are still on the road and never tire of writing more great songs. Definitely on stage a pleasure!

Things that just suck!

Well friends, that's how it looks. I still had a little hope that the box would regenerate, but the picture teaches me otherwise. Yesterday I wanted to keep an eye out for a new desktop, but my mental state didn't allow it and a purchase should be made sober. Well, I like to use a Sunday to rip records, but today I spent my time doing housework. It's also necessary because I have to admit I'm not a fan of it, but when the stove looks like puke and the sink is extremely calcified, the only thing left is this wonderful work.

I also thought of using this opportunity to take a little break, life demands its everyday needs and I neglected some important decisions. But without wdthtc it doesn't work either. It's good that I still have the Lappi to continue here, but I don't like to use this part for this. I don't get bored, but I lack a bit of motivation, I feel a bit amputated without being able to pursue my hobby the way I love it. And since the world of work is taking a lot out of me, it will probably take a while, but I'm optimistic. So don't worry, it's definitely going to continue and until then there will be posts that are still on my hard drive.

AMOUR PUZZLE - Pas Mieux EP 1983

Perfect evening yesterday and my first concert since February 2020, great sound, lots of beer, and met a lot of old friends. Phew, but this morning I'm badly hung over and still have so much to do. And that's where a little pop goodie comes in handy and that's exactly what you get now. Here we go: Following the scuttling of Laxatif 126, Gil and Didier Gonet, respectively composer-guitarist and lyricist-singer, continue their journey by founding the duo Amour Puzzle in 1982. A year later the duo released their first EP Pas Mieux on Le Kiosque D'Orphée with four nice synth-pop songs, supported by Vincent (bass) and Nicolas (drums), which, if there was justice, should have directly climbed to the Top 10. The band hibernates in his home studio, recording many songs there At the same time, the duo reaps the fruits of the efforts sown over the two years past, through the national press. In 1987 comes their second and final 7Inch Prends Moi on the Parisian label Milk Shake Records with two supercharged Poprock which, if god drank less, would have deserved to be the HIT of the Eighties.

OI POLLOI - s/t EP 1994

Another old rip is this little Oi! nugget by a band, that decisively shaped this genre, among others: Oi Polloi from Edinburgh and this record featured Alfie & Julia (vocals), Brian (guitar), Bobby (bass), Murry (drums). The band is the epitome of hard, fast but also dark, sometimes monotonous Anarcho-Punk. Hardly any other Punk combo deals with politics as intensively as Oi Polloi and their music is packed with aggression and anger, which is reflected in their lyrics against nazis, capitalism and injustice. Four solid streetpunk anthems with a clear message, the band live what they shout out loud, perfect sound for headaches. See you tonight 🎸

V/A - Trash On Delivery 1983

Bad news, my computer crashed yesterday and so there are no more freshly ripped records for the next time and I have to reorganize everything. It sucks, but it was inevitable. Having said that I want to make sure I keep posting and therefore an older rip with an excellent description: "The holy grail of bands who looked to conquer theses sleazy streets of London in the early '80s are contained in the almighty 1983 compilation Trash On Delivery. Not quite "third wave glam" (but if you like-y, be sure to check out Jook or The Radio Stars) or third Wave Punk (not quite the Anti-Nowhere League, but check out the UK Subs new threads! "Trash On Delivery" stands on it's own as something completely unique to itself. A snapshot into a brief space of time when the previous glories of '70s Glam Rock, Punk, & Heavy Metal met in perfect harmony for perhaps the 1st time. Twenty odd years later it remains a perfect sleaze punk record and a guaranteed blueprint for those who'd help further commercialize the scene later in the decade (see The Quireboys, Wolfsbane, Wildhearts, Tattooed Love Boys, & Soho Roses just to name a few.)

The compilation, put together by Flicknife Records' Frenchy Gloder (also of The Genocides, whose scorcher "Private Hell" is included on the comp) features a hodge podge of classic gems ranging from crash and burn trash rawk of emerging scenesters like the awesome Marionette and The Babysitters to the then present day projects of Post-Punk era upper crusts like The Barracudas, The London Cowboys (Glen Matlock, Barry Jones, & Steve Dior) and ex-Swell Map Nikki Sudden (with his Bible Belt project). Add in some one off gems like Bad Detective's lost power pop classic "Favorite Record", Suffragette's "Do You Want My Love", and "I Heard The Devil" by Little Roosters frontman and future Eastenders TV Celeb, Garrie J. Lammin, as well as the first recorded release of an embryonic Dogs D'amour and Ray Zell cover art, and you've got one primo slab of proto Sleaze Punk! Reissue 1988 by the spanish label Aspa Records." (Adam T. in "Sleazegrinder.com")

1.Everybody Loves You - THE BABYSITTERS
2.Private Hell - THE GENOCIDES
3.Let's Get Crazy - THE LONDON COWBOYS
4.My Baby Sucks Real Bad - MARIONETTE

THE BRIGADES - Costa Del Dole 1986

Today a really cool record from France with a lot of esprit, refreshing guitars, rich bass runs and pleasant vocals. Melodic and powerful the whole thing and I like this. Info: The Brigades were formed 1981 in Paris and after a few changes, the group stabilized with Vlad "Dialectics" Marcus (vocals), Kid Bravo (guitars), Xavier Saveriu "Chatterton" (bass) and Tony Aigri (drums). Vlad remembers: "I met Kid when I arrived in Paris, a friend with whom I was doing a fanzine (Burning Rome) introduced him to me. On Cité 96 in the evening, we played just after the program of Stéphane Planel and the singer of Orchester Rouge, Théo Hakola. With Kid, we set up the band with Tony on drums, and recruited by the classifieds, (Xavier in Corsica) on bass. Our name was chosen above all for the ease to understanding it in the world. Our first single, Riot & Dance, did a great job, same for the mini LP 'Bombs N'Blood N'Capital', both released on our label Rock Radical Records (founded with the aim of having our own control over what we produce), and we really started touring in 1984 and I remember Dunkirk where we met the Sub Kids. Great guitarists!"

1983 they released their second 7Inch 'Janis Would Say' and a live tape 'My Taylor Is Communist'. Kid Bravo then leaves the group for musical divergence and Tony, Kid's childhood friend, also leaves. Vlad recruits Miguel on drums thanks to a classified ad and Franck on guitar, originally from Toulouse. They rehearse near Nanterre with the Trotskids as neighbors. In 1986 the second LP 'Costa Del Dole' came out, and 1987 their last 'Yours Negatively', both on their new label Negative Records. Many concerts (over 200) followed and take them to Poland, Switzerland, Germany & Great Britain. Their last concert took place at the Cirque d'Hiver in 1989 with Bérurier Noir

Vlad wants to mount another formation to continue, so he contacts Fredéric from the Sub Kids, but he cannot. Guitarist of Richard III, Jean-Marc, with whom he is friends (a canceled concert with the Stiff Little Fingers), is not available either. Franck leaves for Toulouse, so the Brigades broke up in 1989. Miguel had already been playing with Dirty District for some time, hence the difficulty of finding dates with him and the other members for concerts. (source: 45vinylvidivici)

A nice review: "Much more rockin’ than their previous releases, the Brigades cut loose with powerful pop-punk. Their style is a cross between mid-period CLASH and ’80s Brit-punk, while their lyrics are unabashedly political. Driving, well-recorded Punkrock." (Tim Yohannan, MRR #36 • May 1986)
