This ingenious band is a piece of cream and alive damn brilliant and were a new highlight for me of new German punk bands back then. We are talking about Front from Wiesbaden, a five piece founded 2003 as a coverband of various old punk/wave combos like Abwärts, Male, etc... The experiment succeeded and soon the first own songs were written, which finally appeared 2007 on their debut Bitte Recht Freundlich. This is the second of finest punk quality, including a cover version of SYPH and comes as, my favorite format, 10Inch. German-language, minimalist songs, deeply rooted in the eighties, guarantee nothing for hi-fi fans, but just right for us old sacks. Trendy is something completely different and that's exactly no matter to Front: it goes originally to the thing, it is not whistled on modernity and fat sound, instead melodic punkrock with unusual lyrics with which nothing can go wrong. The record came as a limited edition in clear vinyl and cool artwork. A real masterpiece! Now the second Allgäuer und back to Backgammon. 🍸

Fuck Winter II
Well, you'll see two nice pics from the beautiful Wetterau, the place where I usually go on weekends, with my girlfriend. And I have to admit, the white splendor makes me happy and snow so early this winter is a long time ago, it will/is a cold one this fucking year. Currently one degree and the first beer is running. The idea is floating to me, send me your winter impressions of your hometown and I post them as 'Fuck Winter III', and if you wish, write it in the comments and you will find my email there. But apart from this idyllic fanzination, my opinion stays: Fuck Winter!

V/A - When Men Were Men... And Sheep Were Scared 1985
Saturday morning, two coffees intus and after a good night's sleep we come to the following musical highlight. It invite you eight bands, mostly hailing from the Long Beach area and each with two exclusive tracks, to share their emotions on this decent compilation from Bemisbrain Records with a outrageously funny cover and like a fresh beer after getting up, their fresh mid-tempo sound hisses into your veins and provides positive vibrations, ideal for an exciting day without stress. A short useless note: some copies had two stickers on the shrink that were actually placed over the center of Mad Marc Rude's cover art to preserve John Wayne's dignity.... If anyone is interested in the record, I have an auction on ebay. But now have fun with it at breakfast, Cheers!

RAW NOISE - Sound Of Destruction EP 1990
Crust Maniacs Watch Out! A treat for you... but first a bit info for all the unknowing: Raw Noise were founded 1983 in Ipswich by Dean (vocals), Ali (guitars), Ade (bass), Pigkiller (drums) and were one of the first to play an aggressive style crust punk. They made three 7Inches and three albums. In January 1985 they became Extreme Noise Terror. I have to say, crustpunk is absolutely not my style, but I can easily get excited about the brutal furious hardcore sound because I have access to it. Little story: I remember, many many years ago, my love and I were invited to a friend's birthday party and there was also a guest who played in a "Screamcore" combo and had a gig that evening. I had to see that and I can only recommend to everyone visits such a gig, Pure Ecstasy! I don't have to describe to you how it feels, just listen to these four songs from the second EP, I promise: this stuff is going to erupt your weekend!

V/A - No More Borders EP 2012
Spicy snacks of well-known bands with a faster pace are in the house and on this little motherfucker they turn their 45BPM again and again. Originated in co-operation of numerous small international labels and pressed in an edition of 500 copies (a few coloured); plus an elaborate full color double sided artwork, with full lyrics insert. What's inside?: ripping thrash, strong hooks, with a musical standard which is almost uniformly high. I don't know whether these are exclusive tracks, but all four songs can be used at any dance event. A good opportunity, for those who are not very familiar with them, to discover four hot bands. Entertaining, Chapeau!
1.2012 - The End Of Everything - MDC
2.Ciao Cavaliere - SÖM-HI NÖISE
3.Tired And Furious - RAW POWER
4.Fuck Shit Up - NAKED AGRESSION

RAFF - s/t EP 1984
And again some couple of french louts with their debut EP on Alpha Production with three decent kbd goodies. This four piece were founded in Limoges and the band consisted of Steff
(vocals/guitar), Pack (guitars), Karl (bass), Pascal (drums) and made music together from 1984 to early 1988. They released in their short lifespan two albums, Votez Raff & Six Balles... Pour Un Colt!, two 7Inches and a few compilation tracks and that's remarkable for a band from the province. And now I dedicate myself to the Bundesliga, today the last matchday of the first half of the season in Freiburg, hopefully three points.

CHERRY POPPERS - She's In Love 7'' 1980
Obscure record by this nice band from somewhere in the UK and they put out this damn two-sided cracker on their own label Hiroshima Records. Very popular with collectors. The A-side shines with a fantastic punk'n'roll smasher which is about watching a bit of pornos (preferably with your girlfriend) while the flip is rather calm, with piano and classic swing elements, plus lots of money in the pocket but you can't get a woman who makes you happy (you should think about that), very funny. The title track is guest on the gifted England Belongs To Me #3 compilation. I don't know if it's urgently necessary to know more about this band. Who want, write a comment, until that happens, enjoy two sweet cherries plus a cool cover. That’s it.

TOXIC REASONS - Kill By Remote Control 1984
These damn re-upps are annoying but what am I not doing for the common mob? Right, I'll fix them and you will elect me to be your next president, hehe..... well, another fuckin' Monday needs meaning and I think, I have just the right thing at this advanced hour. So come with me to Ohio and meet Toxic Reasons with their second release on Sixth Int. and the first without the services of Ed Pittman on vocals. After Ed departed in 1983, they continued as four piece and have over forty recordings to date, including ten full length albums. A short review: "Kill by Remote Control, with a revised line-up, is great, a cogent punk onslaught with articulate protest lyrics and finely tuned dynamic guitar (Rob Lucjak & Bruce Stuckey) rock. Some of the numbers vamp into a tedious overdrive mode, but most of the record uses its full-tilt electricity in service of well-constructed (if not really melodic) songs." [Jim Green/Ira Robbins] - It can stay that way. The God Bless America EP and other compilation contributions, of which the gentlemen have enough, await your visit.
- Great Thx to Fredrik -

THE PRODIGY - Breath 12'' 1996
Well, when I heard this song for the first time, I felt the same as I first met punkrock and was surprised at myself, because I'm not an enthusiastic fan of this electronic sounds, but somehow Breathe fascinates me and that's why I was drawn to it I take the slab ashore. Energy that gets my blood pumping, packed in hard, driving beats and that turns me on. But apart from this song, my interest in this movement/style was rather poor but because the song was important in my life, it deserves an appearance in this theatre. A few basics from wiki: "The Prodigy are an English electronic dance music band from Braintree, Essex, formed in 1990 by keyboardist and songwriter Liam Howlett. The band's line-up has included MC and vocalist Maxim, dancer and vocalist Keith Flint (until his death in March 2019), dancer and live keyboardist Leeroy Thornhill (who left to pursue a solo career in 1999), and dancer and vocalist Sharky (1990–1991). Along with the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, The Prodigy are credited as pioneers of the breakbeat-influenced genre big beat, which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s. Howlett's rock-inspired drum rhythms infused with electronic rave music eats/breaks were combined with Maxim's omnipresent mystique, Thornhill's shuffle dancing style and Flint's modern punk appearance. On 4 March 2019, Flint was found dead at his home in Essex, weeks after the band had toured Australia and New Zealand. The rest of the tour dates were cancelled. Howlett said that The Prodigy will continue and he confirmed that new music will be released at some point in 2021. Former member Leeroy Thornhill said that Howlett had been working on a new Prodigy album at the time of Flint's death, and wishes to complete it as a tribute to Flint." Now a little housework and then rip vinyl. Stay tuned!
Fuck Winter
Brrr, winter is long this year and icy weeks are ahead, I'm afraid. Snow in January was a long time ago. But it's not as brutal as in Madrid. I better stay at home and do pointless things... Fuck Winter!!!! ⛄⛄⛄
