Oh Yeah, we come to fast aggressive straight up punk and heavy guitar riffs by Birmingham's finest: G.B.H with their first full length on Clay Records and after almost forty years still a highlight in punk history. What should I tell you more? Music that clears your mind, so full of energy and dynamic, a sound that shuts out all your worries and you get the feeling that everything is possible! I want to quote a final review which I can only underline and the rest info can be found on sputnikmusic. "G.B.H's debut album, City Baby Attacked By Rats is an important album for the hardcore punk genre. The album remains a standout and is essential in the band's big discography. Even though albums like these aren't known for their diversity; it is the really the only major con. I would recommend picking up or at least give a listen to this if you are a fan of classic punk music, hardcore, even metal or just punk in general. This would also be a good album to start if you are new to the band." Enough for today, WDM has to rest.

DER DURSTIGE MANN - Saufen Ohne Ende 12'' 1984
So, some re-upps are done and the weekneds here so I come with along with a delicious 12'' by Der Durstige Mann, everybody knows, everybody loves, stand for strong minimalistic punk rock with a touch of wave sound. Surely you know some of their albums, for example the Bier 4 Tot or Hellblaun albums, and I must say they get more musically from record to record, also here too, all six songs have a melody, a nice rhythm and singing lessons were apparently also took, haha... Honestly, you can say what you want, this band from Frankfurt is so damn unique and I always love listen to them. This 12'' is megarare and I am very pleased to present this stuff on wdthtc. Enough words, mandatory download and the journey into a galactic weekend is opened.

THE DAZZLERS - Feeling Free 1979
Last post in January and we welcome the Dazzlers, a Cambridge-based powerpop group comprising Keith Wild (vocals), Rob Harper (guitar), Steve Slack (bass) and Dave Modesty; drums) and they split up shortly before Feeling Free was released on Charisma. In addition, three singles were released which are also worth listening to and on some compilations the four are represented, here are two of them: Neighbour Annoyer & Screaming Fists #2. With this twelve nuggets a long evening ends with lots of new music and to many cigarettes. The weekend is twenty hours away and I need the two days off like a fish the water. Good Night!
V/A - Cultural Compost Pit! 1985
Pretty awesome tape from Mothra Productions with thirty five bands from around the world with huge tophits. Excellent selection I can only say!, a brilliant Hardcore Punk onslaught pulled by rare 7Inches and other secret sources with nice little info-sheet makes this an excellent stew with hot spices and bite-sized chunks, add a slice of rye bread and beer and it's done... but beware! breaks through well, so don't forget toilet paper.

NEUES DEUTSCHLAND - s/t LP 1981
Also rather unknown band that consisted of three members: Peter (vocals), Sabine (drums) and George (guitars & bass) and as Rewix they released 1980 a 7Inch which is extremely rare these days and a year later they made their only album as Neues Deutschland on Iron Curtain Records/Herkules Records with sixteen solid four chord songs. Reminds me a bit of the sound of the Hamburg ZickZack label, simple and sometimes a bit experimental but by no means boring, could also go through as NDW. Lyrically they move in personal & sociocritical wording so that all in all a good punk record was made.

LONG TALL SHORTY - 1970's Boy 1997
A combo of which I did not know anything until now is Long Tall Shorty, a four piece from London which formed in August 1978 from the ashes of the punk rock band Ben E Dorm & The Tourists. Initially called The Indicators, the line-up was: Jimmy Grant (bass), Mark Reynolds (drums) and Tony Perfect (guitar/vocals). After Keith Mono joined in October 1978, The Indicators were offered a support slot to Sham 69 at the Electric Ballroom in Camden. They recorded several singles before splitting up in 1982, when lead singer Tony Perfect left to join Angelic Upstarts. Reforming in 2000, they have recorded and released several albums. Fantastic twenty song compilation and more info in the file and I'm in a hurry so let's have all a great weekend!

DIE GOLDENEN ZITRONEN - Porsche, Genscher, Hallo HSV 1987
After two nice 7Inches the Bremer Weser Label released the debut of Die Goldenen Zitronen (The Golden Lemons), punx from Hamburg that are known for their entertaining and politically relevant style. Their original name was Die Deutschen Nazikartoffeln (the German Nazi-potatoes). When the band formed in 1984 at the beginning of the “Fun-Punk”-movement, punk was their main style and over the years the band added more experimental musical forms combined with different styles. Their lyrics are political and take a critical view of society from a left to left-radical perspective and they are also especially known for its chaotic live performances.
The founding members were Schorsch Kamerun (vocals), Ale Sexfeind (drums), Ted Gaier (bass & guitar), and Aldo Moro (guitar & bass). Initially they combined hard rock with 1970s-era punk and lyrics that were both angry, yet comedic and pop-like. The band rejected the traditional music industry, seeing themselves as a symbol of artistic independence not wanting to "serve the structures of rock" (Ted Gaier.) Of the founding members, only Schorsch Kamerun and Ted Gaier remain. The new members are Thomas Wenzel (Die Sterne) under the pseudonym Julius Block, keyboarder and drummer Mense Reents (Egoexpress, Stella), and Enno Paluca. Their song, "Für Immer Punk," is a cult hit in the German punk scene, inspiring comparisons with bands such as Abwärts, Die Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte. Sixteen varied highlights and a debut that is much more than fun punk.
INDECENT EXPOSURE - Live In Hildesheim/Germany 2008
Let's get to a band that certainly polarized, especially since they also released their records on Rock-O-Rama (1985) when the label was released only a Nazijunk, but I don't think they are, patriots rather, no matter, the music is okay and so I post this little CD which comes via Index Records with nineteen Streetpunk Oisters! Indecent Exposure were formed in late 1981, with Britain in a deep dire recession, three million on the dole and then Southall, Brixton & Toxteth along with many other towns & cities kicking off, it was now time for IndEx to make their mark through their own brand of Oi! Music!!! - More info in the file and I keep going with another vinyl rip.

WIDOWS - Balls'N'Bollocks 2000
This Bootleg compilation is no longer in my closet, you probably suspect why. Anyway, this record contains the rare Overscrupulous EP, Wall Of Berlin EP (both released 1979), the Were Comin EP and their only full length Fun? from 1980 plus tracks which was recorded live @ Tavastia, Helsinki 25.5.1980. The Widows were formed in early 1970's by brothers T.B. Widow (vocals, bass) and Johnny Widow (guitar), after been influenced by bands like New York Dolls. It wasn't until 1975 that they got a permanent drummer as Rocky joined them. The first one, for Love Records, had been recorded in 1978, but for some reason wasn't released until May 1979. This delay didn't make the band happy, so they switched to Poko Rekords after that. Things didn't work out very well within the band: Rocky had had enough and left, and Jacky announced that if Kelloggs wouldn't be kicked out, he would leave. So Kelloggs was out, and new guitarist J. Blockhead, as well as drummer Archie, was in. This lineup recorded the Fun? album in 1980. However, the lineup changes hadn't improved things that much, and Widows started to fade out. The finishing blow came when Jacky was sentenced to jail. Widows, in essence, was disbanded. Still, they played one more gig in Lepakko, with Pete Malmi on vocals, and even visited studio (T.B., Johnny, Pete Malmi and Affe Forsman on drums), but the recordings were never released. (Info by Mika Saastamoinen). They are represented on numerous compilations. Excellent stuff in every way.

STIFF LITTLE FINGERS - Get A Life 1994
Get A Life is the sixth studio album by Belfast pioneers Stiff Little Fingers and since 1977 they celebrate refreshing punk music. This album helped renew interest in SLF just as newer bands that sited them as a major influence, such as Bad Religion, Rancid and Therapy, were coming to prominence. Thirteen catchy songs, including some ballads, provide variety and entertaining listening pleasure. Still touring and if they coming to your city I recommend a visit and listen on the way to Go For It because SLF are still at the forefront of the punk movement. And now....
