EXTRABREIT - Rückkehr Der Phantastischen 5! 1982

Extrabreit is a German band which was formed in Hagen, Germany in 1978. The band was one of the most successful exponents of the 'Neue Deutsche Welle' movement in the 1980s. This is their third Album and the last good one before they become a boring "Rock-Band" like Scorpions or whatever, haha... Actually they were a punk-infected garage rock band from theenvironment of the left scene of Hagen and the first albums proves this in my opinion. This album was released in five differentcolors and had nine tracks. There exist a tape version with an extra track and maybe now the rarest Extrabreit song ever. All in all a successful final album of the early NDW/Punk era.

CALIGULAS BARN - Askungen EP 1981

And further with awesome old rare stuff from the early days. Drummer Mats Westin was on its 16th anniversary on 28/9 in the year of grace 1979 grapevine aware that he was a member of a punk band called Caligula's Barn! Guitarists Magnus Kollberg and Eric Levander had already switched to the Swedish punk and plank Ebba Forsberg and already honed the concept of Caligula's Barn. An early draft of "Stick To The Soviets" was reworked to be acquired but the first song, with Mats on the drums, "Blood In The beard" as straight irony total of anywhere from dictators to scientists. The group's major milestone was the fourth gig at The words house 12/9-80 when it recently reached Umeå and managed to lift themselves together, gameplay. The whole thing has been preserved in a good audience recording. A typical gig where the Ramones, Clash, Ebba Grön and selection of Swedish bands such as The Baiters and attacks are mixed with many originals. sixteen songs cleared in forty-five minutes. But it did not pay Caligula Barn a milestone on his record. New new wave and the influences should have worked, but was scuttled by a nice "production." The single became a little punk, but fortunately did tape is heated to several ropes. The band was characterized by energy - perhaps more fun than aggression - and a measure of humor, for example: the slogans "total dots with scratching" and "pop with speed stripes". Opinions on the CB was really polarized between "the worst band you've heard" to "impressive vocal harmonies." Immediately in 1982 transformed the band to El-Alamein, with more pronounced new wave sound and a minor emphasized pop rock. 1984 converted it to The Trap, which popinfluenser of vintage/retro character was heard more than in previous projects.

IKKA SHINJYU - Dead Section Flexi 1985

Well, I told you yesterday that new records come in and while I ripping there's a band you should notice: Ikka Shinjyu from Japan. They released five 7Inches and they extreme fuckin' noisy and fast and raw. The singer is yelling the words out like he's been laid up on a bed of nails, the guitars heavily distorted, the drummer bolzt without breathing and the bass joins the whole noiseblock perfectly. I do not have much to do with Japancore but occasionally I discover a pearl that blows my socks off. Three goodies in four minutes, 100% pure energy.....and now first a beer, Cheers!

PURRKUR PILLNIKK - EhgjI En: 1981

A leap in the far north and we meet Purrkur Pillnikk, an amazing band from late punk era from Iceland. The band existed for eighteen months (1981–1982) and were very active, they released at least two albums and one live record and two EP's. The distinguishable character of the band were Einar Örn's howling and off-key singing and his lyrics that most often described very day-to-day things but with a lot of interwoven angst. Members of the band later found themselves in KUKL and 1986 in the Sugarcubes. The band toured Britain in fall 1982. This is their debut album on Gramm records with seventeen short crackers with simple guitar riffs which is fuckin' PERFECT!! Search this blog for more. And now two new records arrived and they wanna be digitized immediately... I Love Saturdays! - See you in Walhalla.

V/A - Dragonskolan (Live) 12'' 1982

This rare 12'' was recorded in Umeå at Dragonskolan in 1981 (organized as a drug-free music festival) and was published in ca. 300 copies by Brute Force Records, Umeå's only "real" record label around 1980. The record company was transformed by Lars Gillen around 1984 to Garageland Records and then they released some heavy metal records. On this evening, there playing jazz and blues bands from Stockholm and bands from Umeå. They decided to recording this album with four of Umeå' bands as document to show that it is possible to having a little slice of nice Swedish underground music, even if it breaks all financial resources, in their home town. So, that's punk rock! - Musically it's rather "quiet" here but all four songs are good and rockin' friendly.

1.Another Girl - STEVE ROPER BAND
2.Vi Hör Ihop - DAGEN D
3.Hem Till Dig - FAVORITORKESTERN
4.Kom Till Mig - NYLLE & NALLARNA

Limp Records was an independent record label based out of Rockville, Maryland that operated from 1978 until 1982. The label's more notable output includes the first Bad Brains release (a song on The Best of Limp (… Rest of Limp), the second Minor Threat record (a split release with Dischord), and the first record by Black Market Baby. The label's first release was the Slickee Boys second EP. 1000 copies released, comes in a plain cardboard sleeve with two 11.75" x 11.75" flats. THE EXPLOITED - War Now 12'' 1988

Formed 1979 in Edinburgh, The Exploited is a punk band from the second wave of UK punk and every punk knows them. Standing tall as a long-running paradigm of British hardcore, the Exploited - a name emblazoned on the backs of countless leather jackets - is musically harsher, darker and cruder than the Edinburgh band's '77 forefathers. So I must not leave a lot of words about them. They started out as a street punk band, before transforming into a faster hardcore direction, only with a heavy political influence. From about 1987 on they changed into a crossover thrash band. They signed to Secret Records in March 1980 and released their debut EP Army Life (which was #6 in the independent charts for eight weeks), followed by their best album I think 'Punk's Not Dead' which slogan is written on every grey wall in every grey city. Three songs here, all well done!

BRYGADA KRYZYS - s/t LP 1982

Brygada Kryzys (Crisis Brigade) or B.K. is one of the most important and influential Polish punk/rock reggae bands. The band was founded in 1981 by two well-known guitarist/vocalists from Warsaw, Robert Brylewski (formerly of the band Kryzys) and Tomasz Lipinski (from Tilt). This is the first album and the recordings were made between February and April 1982 in a studio in Warsaw. The Album is considered as the first officially record in Poland (....) with punk rock and new wave music. Appeared in the circulation of about 150.000 copies. It's understood that part of it has been directed to sell and has appeal because of the bold work of the team in the face of contemporary socio-political situation. Some critics, however, undermine the claim of milling of effort. The crisis in the music media poll for the best Polish post-war record came in second place. In March 1982 the recording company “Tonpress” opens a new studio in Warsaw’s Wawrzyszew district and begins looking for a band to test it. BK manager, Jacek Olechowski, suggests the group. Over a few days several songs were recorded and “Tonpress”, with hesitation, agrees to publish the record. The result is this awesome dark punk/wave record with nine melancholic punky tunes and I listen while I post this to Love A (the German punk band this hour, check their songs on youtube or whatever). - I'm in a very drunken constitution yet and all this info it stolen from fuckipedia. Anyway, this is a glorious record.

GLAMOUR GHOULS - Top Of The World, Ma! 1990

One label I very recommend is the german Incognito Records, now based in Berlin, and I must say every release is 100% pure punkrock. I got a few records, some are post here and this record is another example for this great people. Here we have now six varied glam-punkrock pearls by a band from Darmstadt, which really has it, unfortunately long disbanded. Apart from the long out of print 333 x UP & DOWN 7", they left us with this mini-LP. The songs included such Killer tracks like "Roller Coaster" and "Saloon Horror" and the band were known by various samplers. Fast, raw, dirty, a great punk record and particularly successful the old Eddie Cochran classic "Summertime Blues" which blows the shit out of you!

V/A - 23 - Nichts Ist So Wie Es Scheint 1999

Weekend once again I watched DVD and for a long time this movie: 23 - Nichts Ist So Wie Es Scheint (23 - nothing is what it seems) is about Karl Kochwho died on 23 May 1989, probably self-immolation, a hacker who drifts ever further in his numbers and conspiracy mania, based on true story (saw this February 1999 in Hamburg with my then girlfriend and was immediately impressed). The Cold War is raging the global peace movement in defiance of the world in a frenzy of fear of nuclear threat and the 19-year-old Karl Koch is whether this status quo deeply insecure. Maintenance, he finds precisely in the worship of the fictitious character of Hagbard Celine from Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminatus! Trilogy. About the depth study of the Illuminati theory says Karl characters identify that point to a worldwide conspiracy of economic and political forces, culminating in the all dominating number 23. At a meeting of the Chaos Computer Club, Karl gets to know the student David. David and Karl are able to hack into the global data network—which is still, at this point, in its early stages—and their belief in social justice propels them into espionage for the KGB. Driven by contacts with a drug dealer, and by increasing KGB pressure to hack successfully into foreign systems, Karl spirals into a cocaine dependency and grows increasingly alienated from David. In a drug-addled state, Karl begins to sit in front of his computer for days at a time. Perpetually sleepless, he also grows increasingly delusional. When David publicly reveals the espionage activity in which the two men have been engaged, Karl is left alone to face the consequences, collapse soon follows. Karl is taken to a hospital to deal with his drug addiction and mysteriously dies afterward. - Extremely catchy, excellent actors and 1A soundtrack and I urgently recommend you to see movie.
A really watchable German thriller.
