BLÜMCHEN BLAU - Wie Die Tiere 1982

Blümchen Blau was an Austrian "NDW" band from Vienna which was active in the early 80s. Until today, their biggest success "Flieger". Blümchen Blau were the most famous Austrian New Wave Band and their music was pretty much on the temporal and stylistic boundary between the early and the Underground commercial exploitation of the NDW which was thrown on the market. Musically it's pretty catchy rock/pop with some wave ska influences. The band is not nearly as happy over how the band name or the very colorful LP cover promise. Their single "Flieger" has nothing to do with Extrabreit's hit, but also based on the Hans Albers classic and was a respectable hit in Austria that time. In Germany, the song was not succesful, which is probably the oversaturation of the market 1982 in Germany was, as in the musical quality. Songs like "Eisenbahn" offered precisely the oblique madness that the commercial NDW stripped quickly and become a "cheeky" had hit infusion. The subsequent singles were no longer released in Germany. In addition to "Flieger" is "Weihnachtsmann", the most famous single of Blümchen Blau, which was already covered by the Hamburg band Charles Lindbergh n.e.V. in 1983 on their early tapes and live performances. Interesting and a nice gag is that on the LP cover the German texts were translated into Yugoslav, but of course was much meaningless. Most songs have a great groove, the singer is charismatic and the lyrics are simple sneaky. Under professional conditions and completely free of added time pressure in Vienna Gorilla studios recorded, is this album one of the most charismatic and still incomparable NDW record of all time. A short time later, the band broke up.

DESCENDENTS - I Don't Want To Grow Up 1985

The Descendents are an American punk rock band from Hermosa Beach, California and were formed in 1978 by guitarist Frank Navetta, bassist Tony Lombardo and drummer Bill Stevenson. ''A superb second album and the first thing that hits you is it's schizophrenic character, side one presents more of their catchy garage punk with satirical and scatological themes (some of which are overtly sexist), whereas side two highlights a newer sound that combines irresistible pop or countrified melodies, heavy punk guitars and reflective lyrics. I actually prefer the latter (especially "Silly Girl" and "Good Good Things"), which seem to result from Bill Stevenson's (ex-BLACK FLAG) influence.'' - Jeff Bale, Maximum Rocknroll #29, October 1985. Sensitive, emotional songs, and they're not corny! Classic - Classic - Classic!!!

LOIKAEMIE - Wir Sind Die Skins 1999

One of the best German Oi! band is Loikaemie and I like all their records because in their lyrics they speak exactly of what I feel too, I can identify 100% with it. The band founded in October 1994 in Plauen, origin of the band were the two friends Ronny (guitar) and Micha (drums), who search in their circle of acquaintances musicians for a band. After repeatedly changes the band stands solid in form with Thomas (vox + guitar) and Ralf (bass) in the winter of 1994/1995. In 1995 the first demo tape comes out and a year later their first album 'Ihr Für Uns Und Wir Für Euch' as well, and two songs “Leichenschänder” and “Perverse Sau” ended up on the index because some idiots didn't understand the lyrics. (A re-release followed in 2000 without the two and without a new cover). After some line-up changes the 2nd album was released via Knock Out Records and again here convince the four with decent street punk and excellent words. 2002 was time for a double album, side-a with new stuff and the b-side with live material from a gig in Conne Island in Leipzig 2000. Five Years later a kind of Best Of record, again as a double album and finally in 2007 their last one. In 2014 the band broke up. Loikaemie were a skinhead band with a strongly anti-racist stand that had nothing to do with right/nazi shit and those people who stumble over because they u.a. cover an Onkelz song should be planting a new brain, morons!!! Vinyl-Rip with all scans, pick up!

R.I.P. - No Te Muevas! 1987

To linger in southern Europe we meet R.I.P. a punk band from the Basque Country, exactly from Mondragon, one of the first punk bands that existed in the Iberian Peninsula: they are considered one of the most influential bands in punk and hardcore from Spain. Originally founded as Double Zero in 1980 by the Bolinaga brothers, joined with Portu as first singer. Then in 1981 Mallabi comes as fixed singer and so continued for two years doing various shows. Mallabi was doin' his compulsory military service and was temporarily replaced by the band's manager, Karlos "Muhammad" Agirreurreta, who after a fight with Mallabi, when he returned, became the definitive singer of the band, and they consolidated as such to the final formation -Jul, Txerra, Portu and Karlos were redefined as RIP.

Since 1983, the group produced independently several cassettes with live concerts in order to portray the shows of the band as it were, until 1984, the label Spansuls Records published the Zona Especial Norte 12'', a split EP with Eskorbuto. In 1985, RIP participated as first band in the Basque Rock festival in Barcelona on 29 November. In 1987, they released their only album No Te Muevas! (Don't Move!), on Discos Suicidas. Soon after, they separated in 1988 because of internal differences, but occasionally met, as happened in 1991 to the surprise of many, a music festival organized by Arrasate Press, in the town of Mondragon.

Finally, in September 1994, they had a reunion concert, which was followed by their 2nd record called HIESari Aurre Egiten!! which in Castilian means "Facing AIDS Live", with almost all the songs fromt the first album plus versions of British groups. In February 1997, unexpectedly died bassist Portu. He was replaced by his brother Xabi, who was commissioned to play concerts until the breakup of the band. Later, he joined the group Gatillazo. They contributed a song for the Eskorbuto tribute compilation Tren Con Destino Al Infierno in 2000. More songs were released on various compilations. In 2002, the brothers formed in July with Evaristo and Jon Zubiaga The Kagas, which published a single album titled New Rock Heroes. In 2003, Karlos & Txerra participated in the documentary Música En Las Venas but unfortunately Karlos died in October at age 44 and the group was history. November 15, 2014, died Yul Bolinaga (former guitarist), when collapsing on stage during a concert with The Potes.

That's the story so far with unfortunately a sad end. We sincerely the deceased with a loud "Haut Rein Ey!" and enjoy finest Spanish punk rock!!

INDIGESTI - Osservati Dall'Inganno 1985

Debut record on TVOR On Vinyl by this powerful hardcore punk from Indigesti, founded 1982 in Vercelli by Rudy Medea (vocals), Enrico Giordano (guitar), Roberto Vernetti (bass) and Massimo Corradino (drums). After some tape releases their first vinyl appearance was the split 7Inch with Wretched in 1983 and in the same year the band broke. Two years later they reform with new bass player Silvio Bernelli (Declino) with obvious stylistic changes over the previous period. The bases were always extremely fast and immediate, but the lyrics became more introspective, dark and melancholic. After a European tour the debut comes out, twelve rough, fast & tight smashers. In 1986 the US label BC Tapes & Records released the 'The Sand Through The Green' EP and returning from the tour that followed the group broke up a second time. In tne 90s the Italian label Vacation House Records released a live album (Lübeck Live 02.09.87) and a compilation (Sguardo Realtà 82/83) with early material. In 2001 they enter the stage again and their last album 'In Disparte' appeared and since then still active. That's it.

EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN - Bonn/Biskuithalle 10.10.1989

OK, this band accompanied me since their initial phase and I can't telling how often I have them seein' live. It is always exciting and always different and this record, I don't know where I have acquired, demonstrating the uniqueness of their music. About Einstürzende Neubauten you can think do what you want. Some people hate others worship them. I find it amazing to make such kind of noise-music and their first 3 albums are definitely classics. Drills, sledge hammers, saws, pipes are their tools in addition to standard musical instruments. They create somehow harmony and with Blixas screaming voice these tracks had power & expression. And the group proved this in these recordings which were made at the 'Haus Der Lüge' Tour. Old and new cuts were combined in 50 minutes in an acceptable sound quality and here immortalized on vinyl. There are two more tracks (Prolog & Wasserturm) which appear on the cover but not on the record. Vinyl-Rip & Brilliant!!

STIFF LITLLE FINGERS - Go For It 1981

Three years ago we both were at a concert from the famous Belfast band Stiff Little Fingers and I can tell you folks, their show was fuckin' amazing. They had five gigs in Germany and they called their tour "Up A Gear" and I was surprised that they stop here in Frankfurt because usually only the four largest cities are blessed with great bands like SLF. So me & my girl of course must to be there. And I was not disappointed. The band shine with astonishing enthusiasm and all classics were played and the audience was enthusiastic and wild Pogo was there, not much but still. I would say the average age of us was the band's same and you know what this means. Egal, I shot a little video but this file is soooo fuckin' big and I can't post it. I must find a programm to convert and when I got it then I post it someday. If you should be interest leave a comment. Reasons enough to post an album and I decided myself for their third album which I like a lot and shows my gratitude to Stiff Little Fingers for all the good music and a memorable evening. Cheers!!

V/A - What Doesn't Hurt Us Makes Us Stronger 1985

Friedrich Nietzsche adage "That which does not kill us makes us stronger!", a wise sentence I believe. So reason enough for the Berlin label Destiny Records to bring out an excellent compilation with this quote. Of course here many Berlin bands are represented together with the Ami fraction which ensure at that time for furore and the divine hardcore punks from Pisa. Partially goodies on it which can only be found here but most of them are on the bands own records or released as 7inches which are also difficult to obtain in these gray days. The first pressing comes with title in golden letters, my copy. The repress was with white. Offensive music for offensive people, not grow weary.

PROBLEM - s/t LP 1978

The debut record (The first edition comes in green vinyl) from Malmö's Problem was released on Smash Records after two 7Inches and offers eleven cool goodies. Excellent snotty guitars mixed with a small dose of keys, not really punky, more a powerful rockin' album I would say. In 2003 appear a streng limited compilation called 'Huller Om Buller' with rehearsal recordings, 200 copies and they sang English in their early days which is also not bad, but Swedish sounds better I think. In the course of their active time two more albums were recorded and in the mid 80s finally the band broke up. So this is a solid debut Rock'N'Roller!
