This combo is another favourite one which we enjoy very often and they are quite popular in their country and make music to this day. UHF were formed in the late 1970s in Almada by António Manuel Ribeiro (vocals, guitar & keyboard), Renato Gomes (guitar), Carlos Peres (bass) and Zé Carvalho (drums). They have released numerous singles and albums and a complete overview can be found here with a small biography (although in Portuguese). Musically not really punk but they celebrate on this mini-album, recorded live at 23, 24 & 25 of November at the Cultural Center Alfeite in Almada, six decent goodies in forty minutes. The album is released only in order to complete the contractual obligations between the band and Radio Triomphe. Unhappy with the publisher UHF refuse to deliver more original songs and propose the final year of contract recording a live album. Shortly after the release Radio Triumph declare bankruptcy. Renato Gomes, guitarist & founding member, left the band and was replaced by Rui Rodrigues. This is the first live album of the band and remains today as the most rare and expensive record, a gem for collectors. Reason enough listen to!

LEATHERFACE - Edward's/Birmingham 31.3.1991
I'm sure a lot of you know the last Leatherface album which is called 'Viva La Arthouse' and it's again a delicious release. Recorded live in Melbourne, nineteen tracks in an awesome sound quality. And I sit here & listening to this album again & again. I love Leatherface and they accompanied me for almost twenty years. Like the 'Live In Oslo' album with this release you can do nothing wrong, you’d better hurry up and get a copy. Leatherface live shows have become the stuff of legend, if you’ve ever been lucky enough to caught them live you’ll have witnessed the pre-gig excitement, the trepidation of the emotional possibilities, the rollercoaster ride of each song and the overall full on powerhouse brutality of melodic punk rock. Here is another bootleg from my hard drive and this post is the proof that you can be creative when you listen at punk rock. Now I dig out this treasure with thirteen songs in a consistently acceptable sound quality. Get this for free and buy their new album - it's a must have and worth every cent! CHEERS!

WIPERS - In Nürnberg 1987
Start today with a rare one and it's always a pleasure for me listen to: Wipers. Fantastic live recording from Portland's best, I love this band. Unnecessary to write more words. The song selection is perfect, sound is ok and with a total playin' time of 74 minutes simply superb. I'm sure that those who hear the combo for the first time look for a few plates, I promise: it's worth! Puuhhh, I'm lazy writing now, the gig yesterday was too intense. I guess I'm going to spend the day in bed now, post a little and rip a LP and of course soccer... I love Saturdays, enjoy!

THE SMITHS - Louder Than Bombs 1987
This day was terrible. I couldn't think clear, two years it is right now and I'm still struggling with this circumstances, always thinkin' of my beloved girl... miss you so much honey!! I flee into music and found this album here. The Smiths was one of her favourite band and without her I never came in touch with this Manchester group. I remember, as she told me that she has always heard a tape of them in her car. I listen to the sound and was instantly impressed. Yeah, that met exactly my taste which made me very happy. Clearly we look for records to buy and we get two, 'Meat Is Murder' and this one. Both are phenomenal. "Louder Than Bombs" is a compilation album and was released as a double album in March 1987 by their American record company, Sire Records. The album was released as the American counterpart to their recent British compilation ''The World Won't Listen'' and consisted of all singles and nearly all B-sides that had not at that point been available in the States, either on single or album, with a few other tracks added. Its highest chart position was number 63. A lot of killing songs are on it and they bring back lots of memories of happier carefree days and I can't stop cryin' when I listen to. For me reason enough to post this album here because she is thereby present and this record is a whole masterpiece with damn good lyrics and a beautiful voice. Take Care!
AGENT ORANGE - Real Live Sound 1990
To this band, I know I must not write much words. You know their sound + You love them. At least that applies to me. Agent Orange from California exist since 1980 and are one of our favorite bands. They were playing live here six years ago (it can be viewed here) and they laid a fantastic performance that inspired me. I distinctly remember that rainy evening in April, and I could not wait to see the band on stage, as it always is with boring support bands which nobody needs, and I shot with my camera the whole gig which was much too short. The band sounds great and the selection of old & new songs plus the inevitable cover tunes were awesome. So this fine album here were recorded live in Los Angeles, at the Roxy/Hollywood on July 21, 1990 and totally captured it and reflects this show from April very well. If you have the opportunity to see this crazy band live don't hesitate, be there. You'll be not disappointed.

CHEAP'N'NASTY - Covergirl EP 1981
Once again we have here another good record from the Netherlands. Cheap 'N Nasty were a legendary punk band from Leiden and was founded in the 80s. This is their only release I think and came out on Smashstick Plastics Records. They playing melodic punkrock and the two-part singing, female & male, is awesome. I like it here very well. Meanwhile, the EP is sold at exorbitant sums. Look out on ebay and then you know what I mean.

TBC - Live EP 1981
TBC from Umeå began in 1974 as six men blues rock band but changed its style in 1976 when punk started coming. Members: Lars (drums), Lars-Göran Forsman (harmonica), Micke & Gunnar (guitars), Rune (bass) and Kenneth "Felt Meat" Berg (vox). At the start they cover UK punk classics from the Pistols and Clash but quickly wrote own songs. They toured a bit and 1979 the band was history. A first record Musik I Plast was released on Mjalthugg and in the same year this live EP followed. Five punky rock'N'roller in ten minutes.

FLATSCH! - Sei Mal'n Bissi Lieb 1984
"Beer, Liquor, Äbbelwoi, Vodka, Gin always into the scrag rin" and yeah we are back in Frankfurt and the match yesterday was a fuckin' disaster, Kackladen.... anyway... with their fourth album, Flatsch! continued where they left off with their third album. Rock music with German lyrics, partly in the Hessian dialect and they are in the Rhein-Main area with its mix of comedy and Hessian rock very successful. Gerd Knebel, the singer of the band, has become nationally known as one half of the comedy duo Badesalz by the way. The band existed from 1979 until 1988. Here gets everyone on their caps, Michael Jackson, Adolf Hitler, ComputerFreaks, Eberhard, etc.. striking side blows and when you think longer about it you will love this combo. Live, they were also a pleasure. You notice how I already adore the boys, but as a Äppelwoi drinker, I can not help it. Oh yes, maybe soon more stuff from Flatsch! - So this is their really last good album which I can highly recommend.

LES RATS - Tequila 1987
One more classic french stuff now: Les Rats were a punk rock band, originally members were Joss (guitars), Patrick (vocals/guitar), Jean-Michel (drums) & Laurent (bass) from Seine-Et-Marne. This Parisian group was in the 80s one of the leading French punk bands. The Rats were formed in 1983 at Montereau (Seine-Et-Marne), near Paris. Their rough punk rock sound marked the French 80's/90's punk scene. Originally started as quartet, the group will expand to five in 1987 after releasing their debut album Tequila: Lawrence "Rolo" joined the Rats as a second guitarist, while Lawrence (another bassist) left the band and leaves his bass to Mohamed "Momo". Patrice singer (also guitarist), will therefore not concentrate at singing. Very popular in the middle of alternative rock, they occur many times with bands like the Sheriff or Parabellum. Their songs are their words for describing a sarcastic daily bleak backdrop of suburban boredom and illegal products. Some of them have also written by Giant Verde, 413 Karbala singer, songwriter and occasional Parabellum. From the early 90s, the group began a shift toward fewer primary rock, more built, and abandoning some of their punk accents. The album Solicitation is particularly representative of this period, although their lyrics keep the same sarcastic vein. It is then that Momo left the band, replaced by Roland of Parabellum, then Fred. The band split in 1996 after a last concert at the Divan du Monde in Paris. A year earlier they had released their only album "Live From Prisa", containing most of the best known songs of the group. I added the first two singles "Violence" and "Tequila" in the file and I promise you this is superb stuff.
SUDDEN IMPACT - No Rest From The Wicked 1985
A Longplayer that I have long ceased to be heard are this classic one from Toronto's Hardcore band Sudden Impact. Formed in 1984, they built a sizable following across eastern Canada and the neighboring states below. Their first and only full length is one of the best 80's crossover albums I know. The band impressed with their 'Into Your Face' attitude and a trashy sound so my ass can't sit still. Twelve glorious rawness & intensive tunes that brings the 80's back. After taking a hiatus in 1991, the band reformed in 1995 and continued playing through recent years. Reid English, guitarist was 47 when he passed away on December 7, 2010, he did all the artwork for the band including the cover here. Cause of death was not immediately released. This post includes the Freaked Out demo, a live gig from 1986 plus two rehearsal songs. Compilation featuring the band: It Came From The Pit. Let's enjoy sixty minutes of fresh air!
