HOTEL KEMPAUSKI - Demo 2019

Ich möchte euch jetzt eine Band vorstellen aus Kiel namens Hotel Kempauski, und warum ich das will ist schnell erzählt. Die Welt ist klein und einer der Gitarristen ist ein entfernter Arbeitskollege, zumindest beschäftigen wir uns mit einem Produkt welches er vertreibt und ich verwalte. Und nach einigen netten Gesprächen kristallisierte sich eine gemeinsame Vorliebe und die heißt Punkrock, und das liebe Gemeinde ist nicht alltäglich. Seit gut zwei Jahren hänge ich nach und heute endlich hab ich die Muse euch die Herrschaften näher zu bringen und vielleicht findet sich ein label und gibt den Jungs eine Chance. Die selbsternannten Bauspar-Punks von der Ostküste überführen Hardcore-Punk in seine längst schon überfällige Midlifecrisis. Live gibt es Tempo, Zynismus, ellenlange Ansagen und Einflüsse aus vier Jahrzehnten Punkrock. DIY-zertifiziert, die Band besteht aus Schrammi (vocals), Olli & Teller (guitars), Herbert (bass), Felix (drums). Musikalisch gibt es ordentlich auf die Mütze mit den typischen norddeutschen Punklyrics, keine Phrasen und Statements, eher nachdenklich und emotionale Texte die exzellent zu den treibenden Rhythmen einfließen. Die Jungs verstehen ihr Handwerk und reihen sich meiner Meinung nach nahtlos in die Liga bekannter bands wie Turbostaat, Muff Potter oder Duesenjaeger ein. Fazit: verdammt coole Songs einer 'jungen' band die hoffentlich mehr Aufmerksamkeit genießt und verdient.

Fuck Winter II

Well, you'll see two nice pics from the beautiful Wetterau, the place where I usually go on weekends, with my girlfriend. And I have to admit, the white splendor makes me happy and snow so early this winter is a long time ago, it will/is a cold one this fucking year. Currently one degree and the first beer is running. The idea is floating to me, send me your winter impressions of your hometown and I post them as 'Fuck Winter III', and if you wish, write it in the comments and you will find my email there. But apart from this idyllic fanzination, my opinion stays: Fuck Winter!

V/A - Never Mind Covid-19 2020

WDM Records ist zurück, eine neue Compilation mit raren unentdeckten deutschen Untergrund ist geschlüpft und Part X fand den Weg vor circa gut zwei Wochen in meine Hütte und schlummerte daher nicht lange auf der Festplatte. Mit fast fünfzig Songs bestückt habe ich an einen langen Sonntag eine anständige Auswahl zusammengestellt die sich hören und sehen lassen kann. Danksagungen möchte ich an dieser Stelle vermeiden, da Ihnen im Booklet Ehre erwiesen ist, abgesehen davon sind's eh die üblichen Verdächtigen. Albumtitel & Cover stammen von Herrn Reinhard, das sei erwähnt, und der Rest ist auf meinem Mist gewachsen. Musikalisch wieder eine gesunde Mischung Wave, Punk, Rock und bißchen schnelles, gezogen von diversen Singles + Sampler alben. # 008 ohne Live Aufnahmen, kommt auch selten vor. Wie immer, Lob oder Kritik sind wünschenswert und nun lauschiges Hörvergnügen mit dieser kleinen Ode an die Freude. Prost!

WDM Records is back, a new compilation with rare undiscovered German underground has slipped and Part X found its way into my hut about two weeks ago and therefore didn't sleep long on the hard drive. With almost fifty songs, I put together a decent selection on a long Sunday which is very cool, visually & acoustically. I would like to avoid thx at this point, they are honored in the booklet, apart from that, they are the usual suspects anyway. Album title & cover are from Mr. Reinhard, that should be mentioned, and the rest grew on my dung. Musically again a healthy mixture of wave, punk, rock and a few speedys, drawn from various singles & compilation records. # 008 without live recordings is also rarely occurs. Praise or criticism are desirable as always and now, cozy listening pleasure with this little ode to joy. Cheers!

V/A - Jetzt Oder Nie! 2020

Willkommen zu einer neuen Compilation aus dem Hause WDM Records, und #007 ist einmal mehr hervorragend bestückt mit rarem deutschen Untergrund von 1979 - 1986, die Daten lagen unentdeckt auf einem USB Stick den ich zufällig reaktivierte und all das wurde mir X-Mas 2017 von Herrn Reinhard geschickt. An für sich bin ich sofort dabei reinzuhören weil ich weiß, es ist immer exzellenter Stoff, doch hier lief's irgendwie anders. Nun, jetzt isser da; Part VIII wieder randvoll aus einer bunten Palette mit Pop, Rock, Punk & New Wave Goodies von diversen Singles, Demos, Samplerbeiträgen & Live Stücken die kaum jemand kennt, inklusive mir selbst. Der Titel ist jetzt nichts spezielles, mir kam eben kein anderer und so wurde es einfach der Opener und Erdbeeren mag ich gerne, so ist das Cover ebenso ein zeitgemäß unspektakuläres geworden (dem Arm geht's inzwischen wieder besser). Genug Worte, zieht euch das Teil rein und Lob oder Kritik sind wünschenswert. Part IX wird definitiv anders, versprochen.

Welcome to a new compilation from WDM Records, and #007 is once again excellently equipped with rare German underground from 1979 - 1986, the data was undetected on a USB stick that I accidentally reactivated and all of this was sent to me X-Mas 2017 by Mr.Reinhard. In itself, I immediately listen to it because I know it is always excellent material, but here it was somehow different. Well, now here; Part VIII again full to the brim with a colorful palette with pop, rock, punk & new wave goodies from various singles, demos, sampler contributions & live pieces that hardly anyone knows, including myself. The title is nothing special, no other came to me and so it just became the opener and I like strawberries, so the cover has become a contemporary unspectacular one (the arm is doing better now). TURBOSTAAT - Nachtbrot 2019

Gude Morsche und welcome to today's post. Gestern war'n Turbostaat in Mainz zu Gast und es war wieder einmal ein gelungener Abend. Seit 20 Jahren sind die fünf aus dem hohen Norden unterwegs und sorgen mit ihrem Sound für gute Stimmung und gehören für mich zu einer der besten Bands in unserem Lande & Alive immer ein Genuß. Nachtbrot ist als Doppel-LP auf 18Null9 raus und wurde am 11. & 12. Mai 2018 im Conne Island in Leipzig aufgenommen, um ein unvergessliches Wochenende zu zelebrieren. Einundzwanzig Songs querbeet von ihren bis dato sechs Alben, gesunde Mischung. Ebenso famos das Konzert gestern im KUZ und die Hütte war voll und sogar das Bier schmeckte wieder. Die Jungs sind noch bis Mitte April auf Tour, danach einige Festivals und ich kann euch nur empfehlen dort zu erscheinen. Welche Städte noch überflutet werden findet ihr hier. Genug Worte, Zeit für Musik und bis zum nächsten Gig, Ahoi!

Yesterday Turbostaat were guest in Mainz and it was another great evening. The five from the far north have been traveling for 20 years and provide a good atmosphere with their sound and for me they are one of the best bands in our country & Alive always a blast. Nachtbrot was released as a double LP on 18Null9 and was recorded on May 11th & 12th, 2018 @ Conne Island in Leipzig to celebrate an unforgettable weekend. Twenty-one songs cross their six albums to date, a healthy mix. The concert yesterday in the KUZ was also superb and the hall was full and even the beer tasted good again. The boys are still on tour until mid-April, afterwards a few festivals and I can only recommend you to appear there. Which cities are still flooded can be found here. Enough words, time for music and until the next gig, Ahoi!

Today a further special compilation which I made for my Pa on his seventieth birthday seven years ago. Thirty-five rare Rock'n'Roller are gathered here and I can tell you, it was not easy to meet his taste because he had an extensive collection of first class stuff with recordings that were not published anywhere, that he recorded from the radio or from other sources and I also wanted to find songs like that. I think, I come very close to this with this compilation and he was thrilled and we had a good time with the CD. V/A - Ich Hack Mir Den Arm Ab! 2019

Es ist wieder Zeit für raren deutschen Untergrund in diesem Theater und mit Part VII gibt es erneut eine bunte Mischung Pop, Rock, Punk & New Wave von Bands die mir weitgehend unbekannt sind, manche nur auf Samplern vertreten, einige mit Alben. Zuerst meinen herzlichen Dank an Reinhard für dieses fette Paket und es freut mich stets unentdeckte Schmankerl zu hören aus Deiner reichhaltigen Schatztruhe. Der Titel des Samplers ist schnell erzählt. Seit Sonntag quält mich eine verfickte Schulterentzündung (linke Seite), und als Linkshänder fällt's mir ungeheuer schwer alltägliche Routinebewegungen auszuführen, trotz Medizin die nicht wirkt, von den kaputten Bandscheiben mal abgesehen, hab ich diesen Satz mehrfach geschrien, authentischer geht's kaum. Scheiß' Weihnachten, immer ist irgendwas.... Nun, da hilft Musik, und Part VI ist auch schon lange her. Ein Wort zum cover, so sieht ein Schilderwald aus wenn hierzulande ein Fahrradweg erneuert wird, erfrischend gelle, so'n Ordungsgedöns gibt es nur in unserer bürokratischen Republik; die glauben, wir sind alle Idioten. - Genießt die freien Tage und erfreut Euch an der Mucke, Part VIII wird kommen und jetzt begebt Euch auf die Suche der vorherigen Juwelen.

It's time again for rare German underground in this theatre and with Part VII is again a colorful mix of pop, rock, punk & new wave by bands that are largely unknown to me, some only represented on compilations, some with albums. First of all, my heartfelt thx to Reinhard for this fat package and I'm always happy to hear undiscovered Schmankerl from your rich treasure chest. The compilation's title is quickly told. Since Sunday I've been suffering from a fucking shoulder infection (left side), and as a left-handed person it is extremely difficult to carry out everyday routine movements, despite medicine that doesn't work, apart from the broken intervertebral discs, I shouted this sentence several times, it could hardly be more authentic. Shit Christmas, there's always something ... Well, music helps, and Part VI was a long time ago. A word about the cover, this is what a sign forest looks like when a bicycle path is renewed in this country, refreshingly gelle, such  stupid orderliness are only in our bureaucratic republic; they think we're all dumb. - Enjoy the days off and the music, Part VIII will come and now go in search of the previous nuggets.

V/A - A Small Retrosperspective (Live!) 2019

Ein neues Produkt aus dem Hause WDM Records und da April ausschließlich Live Postis gewidmet ist wuchs die Idee einer superben compilation mit solchen Aufnahmen die ich hier und da fand oder auf meiner Festplatte schlummerten. Bevorzugt mit Bands die ich teilweise erlebt habe und ich besonders gern auflege. Ich glaube das Ergebnis kann sich hören und sehen lassen und besonders das Artwork alter Eintrittskarten schwirrte mir seit langem im Kopf herum, das hat eine Menge fantastischer Erinnerungen hervor gerufen, schön war's! Ich wünsche Euch jetzt abwechslungsreichen Hörgenuß mit diesem kleinen Rückblick.

    A new product from WDM Records and because April is dedicated to Live posts grew the idea of a superb compilation with recordings that I found here and there or slumbered on my hard disk. Preferably with bands that I have partially experienced and I often put on my turntable. I think the result can be heard and seen, and especially the artwork of old tickets has been buzzing in my mind for a long time, it has brought back a lot of fantastic memories, it was nice! I wish you a varied listening pleasure with this small retrosperspective.

PANIKRAUM - @ Waggon, Offenbach 09.09.2017

Now it's time for live stuff on WDM Records and in September 2017 Panikraum were guests at the best location in the Rhine-Main area called Waggon. Panikraum are Alexander (vocals & guitar), Markus (guitar), Jasper (bass) and Nico (drums) and were founded in Mönchengladbach. "We make music, a little punk, a little rock, a little wave. Lyrically emotional and personal, but also political. A mixture of its own kind." After a nice demo they released their debut Kopkino in 2017 on Major Label (order) with fourteen fantastic emotional goodies and since I love the bands in which some of the gentlemen are also musically active it was a must to cycle to Offenbach and as always, it was an extraordinary experience and a fantastic evening. The recording is quite brilliant and if you wanne get in touch with the band join Facebook and bring them to your city. Thank you for the little break from everyday life!

V/A - Bloodstains Across Austria 2019

All right folks, now a brand new Bloodstains compilation and this time we focus the likeable Austria punk years 1978-1987 and we meet twenty-four divine examples from the beautiful Alps Republic and some of these rare goodies you can find in this blog - Snotty punk, melodic wave and rocking bangers shake hands and illustrate how versatile and colorful the Austrian scene was at that time. That's why I got the idea to pay tribute to them with this nice compilation (otherwise nobody else will do it). That's just a small selection of great bands but I'm very satisfied with the result and the liner notes and I don't wanna say thx at this point, those are hereby most cordially greeted and I hope you enjoy it!

V/A - Killed By Sunshine 2019

Da isser, Part VI und zuerst meinen aufrichtigen Dank! an Reinhard welcher mir dieses schnuckelische Teil randvoll mit rarem deutschen Untergrund 1981-1989 für meine kleine Reihe zur Verfügung stellte und damit Euch und mir eine kleine Freude bereitet. Nach meinen kurzen Post-Punk Ausflug mit Positive Energie tummeln sich hier 27 Bands die ich teilweise kenne mit Songs von raren Demos, Singles & Alben die eher unbekannt sind. Der Titel dazu fiel mir ein als ich mit einer Killed By Death Compilation beschäftigt war und das Cover schon fertig hatte, doch jetzt finde ich ihn bißchen doof, ich hatte andere Ideen doch da ich mir nix aufschreibe hab ich sie vergessen, egal. Das Artwork gefällt und hier seht ihr meinen ersten Iro im zarten Alter von, tja... ich glaube einem Jahr. Wie immer interessiert mich Eure Meinung und ich bin dankbar für zahlreiche Kommentare. Der nächste Teil wird kommen und bis dahin wünsche ich Euch angenehmen Hörgenuß hiermit. 

Part VI of my small serie 'Rare German Underground', this time with stuff from the Eighties, taken again from rare Demos, Singles & Albums and first of all, my sincere thanks! to Reinhard which gave me this cute part brimming with rare German underground 1981-1989 for my little series available and thus you and me a little joy. The title came to mind when I was busy with a Killed By Death compilation and had already finished the cover, but now I find its a little stupid, I had other ideas but since I don't write anything down I've forgotten, no matter, the artwork pleases and you can see my first Iro at the tender age of, well ... V/A - Positive Energie [New German Underground] 2018

Wie bereits vor einigen Tagen von mir angekündigt jetzt ein weiteres Highlight in diesen, von Euch allen geliebtem Blog, mit einer compilation die diesmal mit neuen Sounds aus heimischen Landen der Jahre 2011-2018 bestückt ist. Part V, nach Trotzdem Süß, meiner kleinen Serie rarer deutscher Musik und wir tummeln uns hier im Punk, Post-Punk bis Alternative und Rock Sektor mit Bands die zum Teil schon Singles, Alben oder nur Demos am Start haben, einiges erhältlich bei This Charming Man, dem independent label aus Münster mit massig heißem Stoff aus aller Welt. Ich glaube die 23 Songs machen deutlich welch großartige Bands es in Deutschland gibt und ich denke dass sie gehört werden müssen auch anderswo und ich hoffe Ihr habt Gefallen an diesem kleinen schicken bunten Tondokument neuer deutscher Untergrund Musik. Danke an all diejenigen die mir einige der Bands näher brachten (Reinhard, ich hab dich leider im Booklet nicht erwähnt) und Part VI folgt 2019.
