DOGS - Different 1979

Shortly out of bed and welcome to the debut album of the French band Dogs from Rouen which are already represented several times on wdthtc. Thirteen decent punkrockies in the usual dog quality, played by: Dominique (vox+guitars), Hugues (bass) and Michel (drums). For more info click on their '84 7Inch Mon Coeur Bat Encore and you will find the guys become not tired, on the contrary, they recorded more than ten albums, not bad. After Dominique's death in 2002 it became quiet around the band. Well, I hope the noises shooting you off, I go back to bed and die a little.

MANIACS & TIN CAN ARMY - Split 1983

I want to present you another hot record, this time a split album of two German combos, released on Mülleimer Records, another important label from Germany, which has not published any shit in my opinion and the first one comes in blue vinyl and is nowadays very sought and if anyone has a nice copy with both inserts drop me a mail. OK, on the a-side the Maniacs from Rotenburg an der Fulda set the level already high with their english-hardcore style, founded 1982 by Peter (vox+bass), Peter (guitars) and Kai-Uwe (drums) and they released two singles + albums and two members are unfortunately already deceased. The lyrics took up classical political themes and against right-wing extremism and established society. In 1991 the band split up. Tin Can Army, abbreviated as TCA, was a hardcore punk band from Göttingen, which existed from 1982 to 1987. They released one 7Inch, one album and many songs on various compilations, some you can find on wdthtc. Especially the demo recordings are now regarded as cult. In contrast to the recordings published on records, these recordings are much harder and better recorded. The Ox-Fanzine called the band as "best German intelligent Punkrockunderground, which is after twenty years later still gripping." All Right, join the hardcore sound and have a wild Tuesday

DISRUPTERS - Alive In The Electric Chair 12'' 1985

Hell Yeah, what I wrote for The Normals stands as well for the Disrupters, an anarchist punk band from Norwich, formed in late 1980 and the band got off to an early start with a demo of Napalm being released by Crass Records on the Bullshit Detector compilation. This mini-album on Radical Change Records already counts to their last records and shine with six melodic, not typical for the hard UK punk stuff of the early days in my opinion, mid-tempo numbers. Excellent beats and very good lyrics and a great artwork. Alive In An Electric Chair is more than a 10.000 volt flash and be warned, addiction potential. The band split in 1988, disallusioned with the growing divides within the scene.

THE NORMALS - Your Punk Heritage 1977-1984

If your Monday was terrible and desolate then listen to The Normals and I promise you they kick all your worries far away. The band got together in 1977 by Charlie (vox+guitars), David (guitars+vox), Chris (drums) and Steve (bass) and bring the noise and excitement of punk to New Orleans. Their first 7Inch came out via Lectric Eye Records and has with 'Almost Ready' one of the best punk songs I ever heard. This compilation from Airline 61 Records is full with rare unreleased studio recordings, home demos and awesome live tapes. Twenty-one catchy explosions!

RINEVA 7 - Ennui 7'' 1981

One more this morning and we visit Bordeaux and meet Rineva 7, a three piece with their only output on F.L.V.M. ("Faites Le Vous-Même", which means in english: "Do It Yourself", is not a label, although it appears as such on most releases they helped to produce). Two wonderful minimal synth-pop numbers, reminds me of the Neue Deutsche Welle sound and the French scene has also produced very nice records in this genre, haha....now I have not an example, anyway, who gives a shit. Both songs just incomparable and are typical for the 80s and this sound are played at every nostalgia party nowadays and I like it, nice dancing tunes.

WAX - Punk Och Kärlek EP 2016

It's getting slowly bright, the birds are chirping, and I'm sitting here with a Jever and listening to this fast Swedish sound from WAX, a band which formed in 1982 by three boys and Eva Fasth at the micro, original as tape released by the band itself and yet re-released on vinyl via Smutstvättrekårds in an edition of 300 copies. Twelve strong raw fast snotty nuggets which blow everything away that gets in their way and I love this kind of energy and the honesty that is in this music, short & dirty and this is an awesome record and more info on swedishpunkfanzinesUnfortunately not represented on any vinyl compilation, a real secret tip. Enjoy twelve thunderbolts in twelve minutes!

V/A - Chaos In Catalonia #1 2014

An absolutely fantastic quality is this compilation from Common People Records with fifteen streetpunk nuggets and will be not sung in Spanish this could be a British record, of course the latest material. I am always hard with new things because I'm an old sack and somehow it all sounds the same for me but I like the Spanish stuff and this record proves this clearly and you can read a review on the american-oi site which I can only agree. Barcelona Óle and waiting for Volume 2 is worthwhile in any case.

THE RAPED - Philes 'N' Smiles 1985

OK, an official bootleg now from The Raped on Iguana Records and discogs says: a shock-punk band from the UK, formed in early 1977 by Sean Purcell (vox), Faebhean Kwest (guitar), Tony Baggett (bass) and Paddy Fields (drums). Later on, they changed their name to Cuddly Toys as well as their image and style of music. They released two 7Inches on Parole Records and on this record are thirteen rough punkies, the a-side is recorded live at the Vortex, London 10.10.1977 and the b-side shine with studio outtakes and demos from 1977-1978. Excellent sound with offensive lyrics, damn cool.
