V/A - The End Was At Hand [Special] 2012

This nice comp was created by my Austrian mate Reinhard (at that time for the legendary, much-loved WildDevilRules blog). Cause was the general hysteria the world would end in 2013, according to the Mayas and well, it's doomsday and I wonder why all these spinners in poor hippie clothes such an uprising practice. The world goes down slowly and not otherwise. I must confess, I did not much notice of a new Apocalypse and honestly I don't give a shit. I demand doomsday as a public holiday where we all not must work. Maybe the Mayas sacrificed more people that day as usual. Well fuck it, the masses needs always some shit where they can hold on to, funny that it's always at the turn of the year, has almost become a tradition. Idiots!!! Not only this was the occasion for my Austrian friend Reinhard to create this self-made compilation here but also to put his favorite songs in a splendid selection on a CD, adorned with a glossy cover. And the result is great, brilliant punkrock from all corners of the world in beautiful order. Great Stuff!! A few words from Mr. Reinhard to the CD:

"Seems that armageddon didn't happen yet - so what shall we do now?? ;-) To celebrate this suprising fact I've compiled a sampler with songs I really like - hopefully you'll like them too. So this one's for you survivors - have fun & all the best! ...and of course: any comments are highly appreciated!"

I hope you enjoy this exclusive gem and may you create your own sampler at the next pay raise, volcanic eruption, child birth, flood, castration, lung cancer, be in love and don't forget: the next end of the world comes certainly....

THE HOAX - Quiet In The Sixpennys 12'' 1980

Puhh, somehow I'm not getting going today, weak and mentally sluggish, and also that I was a bit happy yesterday after the victory in Stuttgart, I don't know why I'm so listless.... well..... because I'm bored now and have nothing else better to do, next post: four songs and the third record in form of a 12Inch from Manchester's The Hoax, released along with all their other records on the band's own Hologramme Music label, ca 2000 copies exist. The bands line-up changed shortly after this release and after a last EP (1981) some of them became Emergency, who released the acclaimed Points Of View EP in 1983 on Riot City Records. I don't want to leave unmentioned a few compilation appearances and also noteworthy their only album So What which is terrific.... and now; continue chilling!

V/A - Red Rossetten Records Proudly Present EP 1995

Well, your participation in the prediction game is very modest and I think it's a shame, try something different and it's certainly interesting which teams you would favor. Well, we have a handful and I'm setting the deadline for your last instincts on Sunday evening 18:00 CET.

The following small but great 7Inch fits perfectly to Euro 2020, all six bands come from countries that take part in the tournament and half of them were recorded live, all known with famous Gassenhauer and the record should be only appeared as promo, at least readable on the labels, but I think that's a hoax. Never mind, a fertile slab and convincing like yesterday's appearance by the Italian team. Now the second game with Switzerland, which is traded as secret favorite.. hmmm, let's see.

1.Punx Picnic - OI POLLOI
2.Class War - RAMZES & THE HOOLIGANS
3.Skins & Punx - BLANC ESTOC
4.A.C.A.B. - CONTEMPT
5.Staatsfeind - CANAL TERROR
6.No Future - ATEMNOT

Don't know exactly where I bought this slab but who cares, fact is this little 10'' is a good one and a small offshoot in an other design of numerous compilations that someone published because the music's great, honor to the detectives which donate this twelve nuggets.

TV EYE - Mythoman 2014

The new week starts loud and excessive with the second album of the swedish combo TV Eye which came via Spastic Fantastic/Hoax Records (limited to 300 copies on white vinyl) and this goodie is full with fantastic material. Some time ago they visited this theater with their terrific My Generation EP and if you missed it you should definitely catch up. The album features thirty-two hot catchy blasts in the typical Spastic Fantastic "One Minute Song" style and fits perfectly to the Hardcore sound of the Eighties, fast & dynamic, and I hope that this cursed six-day week will pass at this pace. A start is already been made.

V/A - Ten From The Madhouse 1981

I discovered this compilation as I was looking for something from The Insane on discogs and there are two videos and both songs attracted immediately. So I leave a comment for searchin' this one. So as you can see it has worked. Released on No Peer Records this record has ten goodies with consistently unknown bands on it which have a non punkish sound (except Hoax & Insane), rather melancholic and 'calm' and very pleasant in-between in our fast living time. I enjoy this very well. Relaxed come down music on a gloomy Sunday like this. I hope that sounds bring you relax and beautify your day and listen to another one from Typhus to get more input.

1.Modern Times - QUARTA LITE
2.Hideaway - FREUDIAN SLIP
3.Snowfall - CHANTING IN TIBET
4.Out Of Reach - 21 MILES
5.Now We Are Heroes - THE HOAX

THE HOAX - So What 1980

I can completely dedicate this month to Fredrik, so much new stuff came in that I can save the credits. Next slab is the debut mini LP of the Hoax on Hologramme Music with eight classics. The band was formed in Manchester 1979 by Ian (vocals), Andy (guitar), Steve (bass), Mike (drums) and in their short lifespan three more singles were recorded and on some relevant compilaions present as well. Bin Liner Records released in 2007 an essential compilation called "And So It Went 1979-1981" with all their recordings. Catchy mid-tempo punk with good lyrics and pressed in finest blue vinyl, certainly not uninteresting for collectors among you, grab it!

V/A - Alter! Das Album 1991

This cool compilation is full with rare Berlin punk goodies which was released on Pogar Records and the most tracks are from 7Inches which nowadays very sought and partly overpriced offered. Some bands later made one or two albums (search this Blog for more) which are still brilliant records and Berlin had a really varied, musical, range of bands, similar to Hamburg or Munich. The first 2000 releases came with photocopied insert including Pogar discography, some lyrics and background information about the Berlin punk scene 1977-1991. I unfortunately have not anymore the original vinyl, yes, yes, I know :(, but this is a very good rip and should be suffice in the mp3 age.

1.Vaterland - VORKRIEGSJUGEND
2.Rache - VORKRIEGSJUGEND
3.Heute Spaß, Morgen Tod - VORKRIEGSJUGEND
4.Armageddon - VELLOCET
5.Here's A Warning - VELLOCET
6.Hoax - MALINHEADS
7.Medical Fame - MALINHEADS
8.Manchmal Hab Ich's Satt - HARNRØHRER
9.Bombenterror - MARPLOTS
10.Skate Tonight - DISASTER AREA
11.Teenage Nightmare - THE VOICE
12.Grießbrei - DIE SCHLIMMEN FINGER
13.Das Lied Für Fritz - HONKAS
14.Blitzkrieg Bop - WALTONS

TV EYE - My Generation EP 2017

It's going to be wild, loud and brutal with the last record by TV Eye on Hoax Records, released in an edition of 100 copies in marbled vinyl. This Swedish combo was formed in 1998 by former members of Raped Teenagers and Second Sight and consisted at last of Johnny (vocals & guitar), Mat (guitars), Glade (bass), Pat (drums). Seven fast dynamic short killers in an excellent production, as many Eighties Hardcore combos would have wished for. They conjured up two albums, two 7Inches in their short active creative phase and especially the number of tracks on the albums (thirty-one and thirty-two) immediately make me think of the Dirty Rotten EP by Dirty Rotten ImbecilesSo it fits very well, because their music is at home in typical Eighties Punk. My Generation is catchy, authentic and fresh, enjoy!
