V/A - Oi! In Head Punk In Heart 2017

First of all, this is a re-post that I took from Wolti's Provinzkacke blog, and since it ended up in my top ten, it's a pleasure to post this record again and this following Compilation is a collaboration between Gremlins Records/Crom Records/Tough Ain't Enough/Nation On Fire Records and featured eleven spanish Oi! bands playing Iberian classic songs and was limited to 500 copies. Each song a highlight and all excellent played. If you don't know the originals, you should take your time to look around this theater and find them out, and with a cold drink in your hand and the sound in the ears, this fucking Monday is much more bearable. Fantástico!

HONKAS - Lied Für Fritz EP 1982

In the city of Wolfsburg at home: Honkas, a four piece named after the German serial killer Fritz Honka from Hamburg, and consisted of Max (vocals), Christian (guitars), Dirk (bass) and André (drums). Their first sign of life was a tape with six songs on the small Silberne Ritter Kassetten label, one year later the only record Lied Für Fritz on Pogar Records with five brilliant lullabies. I own the re-release by Static Age (2019) and give you some product facts by the label plus and a short review: “Reissue of this old German obscurity with great sound and full reproduction of the original fold-out cover. While by 1982 the US had switched over to hardcore, this EP from the Honkas reminds me more of tough, first-generation European punk like the Rude Kids or PF Commando, though fans of better-known bands like the Dead Boys will also see where Honkas is coming from. The mix is odd and uneven (which, for me, adds to the charm of this era and style of punk), giving this the outsider quality I associate with the best KBD punk. They even speed things up for “Kunst,” which has a proto-hardcore sound a la Teen Idles or even Upright Citizens. A deep cut for sure, but if you love ripping, obscure punk this is well worth your time.”

“Honkas are a very raw German punk band and the production on this record only accentuates their primitivity. Some of the songs here almost degenerate into an undefined mass of guitar distortion, but others (like the title track) have more focus and drive. Pretty sharp.” (Jeff Bale (MMRR #5, March/April 1983) - I say: splendid record and five nuggets from the depths of cold wet dirty cellars, pumped with intense passion; represent on various compilations as well. Kauft das Teil solange es verfügbar ist und gebt euch nicht mit billigen mp3's zufrieden.

V/A - Rockslaget 3LP 1982

Now a real mammoth release with different styles of music that were pressed on three slabs. Rockslaget is a pointed title for a compilation and what's inside promises much. Released on Sound Of Scandinavia/Rockslaget shows this album a fine overview of rather unknown bands which received an appropriate platform with samplers like this and show their skills to the world, within peppered with famous bands, in this case, Unter Den Linden, Mercy and Overdrive (two successful heavy metal bands which released a few records in the 80s). For me always interesting because often hides some pearls on such records. Here is this Svea Svin, Nyx Negativ and Svea Slakthus and the last track from the Rude Boys. V/A - Killed By Death #2 1989

From my former Blog one more compilation of tracks from extremely rare punk records (1977-1982). First pressing was limited to 700 copies and pressed on black vinyl with yellow and black labels. Killed By Death, a series of bootleg compilations showcasing some of the rarest punk rock to date, keeps this tradition alive. KBD wasn't the only compilation series to take on limited-run and out of print punk, but it had the greatest impact, and continues to be produced today. There's a mostly secret and sordid history behind these compilations; many were produced illegally, and as such, lack contact information. With a very few clues, I set out to explore this bizarre world of "grey-market" punk rock releases. So here comes Volume 2 and a truly great record. One great song after another. If you had to get just one Killed By Death record, you can really take almost every record in my opinion. A classic in far too many ways to even take a stab at here. Still one of the best comps ever. Reissue on red vinyl, same tracks as the original. So KBD never grew out of being KBD, and I will never grow out of listening to it.

1.Bummer Bitch - FREESTONE
2.I Hate Tourists - THE FREEZE
3.Son Of Sam - CHAIN GANG
4.Disgusting - THE MAD
5.True Life - MACHINES
6.The Loser - VAINS
7.So Long To The Sixties - S'NOTS
8.Absolute Ruler - THE RUDE KIDS
9.Just Head - NERVOUS EATERS

12.Blues - CHEIFS
13.Gacy's Place - MENTALLY ILL
14.Crowd Control - REALLY RED
15.Horizontal Action - PSYCHO SURGEONS
16.Don't Worry Kyoko Mommy's Only Looking For Her Hand In The Snow - CHILD MOLESTERS

57 KEZ - Punks EP 1980

Sweden had one of the largest punk scenes outside of England and the United States in the late 1970s. Scores of bands released records, among them some genuine world-beating classics, like Rude Kids, Kriminella Gitarrer or 57 Kez. Over the years, the Swedish punk scene in a cult status among music fans who created, and many of the former plates cost a fortune to collectors today! No wonder, a lot of the records were released only in small quantities, mostly by independent, small publishers. The same goes for this EP, published by Rockslaget Rosla in 1980 and 57 Kez brings here three awesome KBD tunes which blasts your ass off. Quite brilliant. I think it's their only release and more info about the band I cannot find. Anyway, check this out if you're in music from the first punk wave.

THE RUDE KIDS - 7'' Collection 1978 - 1982

Long before Millencollin and The Hives spread the Swedish punk rock over all the world's continents, there were a bunch of rascals who took the aptly named The Rude Kids, one of the most classic swedish punkbands from the late 70's. The Rude Kids were a punk rock band from Hagsätra/Stockholm. Their first single 'Raggare Is A Bunch Of Motherfuckers', that they recorded themselves, was released by Polydor in 1978. Rude Kids was the first Swedish punk band to release a record trough a major record label. The single sold between 5000 and 6000 copies (compared to 600-700 copies for an average Sham 69 single). Tony Parsons named it "Single Of The Year". Polydor also released the single 'Stranglers' and the LP Safe Society. Their records got good reviews in the press. Rude Kids played in London a few times. Once they opened up for Madness (only realising at the gig that it was Madness, not Doctors of Madness) and were attacked by Skinheads in the audience. After they fled the stage the audience smashed up all the gear without realising they smashed up Madness' gear. In 1980, when Rude Kids signed with the record company Sonet, they had a more poppy sound compared to their earlier music. In 2002 Turbonegro performed a cover on the Rude Kids song 'Raggare...' at Hultsfredsfestivalen. Singer Böna was killed tragically in a car accident in 1982. That was more or less the end of the band. Musically they are a typical '77 punk band, loud guitars & huge hooks, they blow everything up against the wall, brilliant lyrics and awesome songs, I cannot stop listen to. Their last two singles are "a little" quiet and with a nice casio tone but equally brilliant. "We are the Rude Kids and we're made this record that we think you should listen to!" (Böna) - Absolutly!!! In this file you get all 7inches, all covers and overall 13 songs in 37 minutes of pure impact.

- Extra Special Thx to Fredrik -
