V/A - It's Your Choice [Unreleased Live Material From The Your Choice Live Series] 2x10'' 1991

Weil heute so ein scheiß' Wetter ist bekommt ihr einen Nachschlag, two 10 inches, all songs live and I'm sure you've all heard or downloaded a record of the Your Choice Live Series before, and if not, the uncle won't let you die stupid. The series began in the late 80s, lasted until the mid 90s and the last effort was in 2002 and since then is Schicht. The plates were mainly characterized by the very good recordings and brought rather more unknown bands a platform on which they could show what they can (mostly fast & loud)As you can read, these are songs that didn't make it onto the regular albums, including some covers and other specialties. A total of thirty-five records were published, two of them on the blog. Das war's für heute, now I'm making myself comfortable and touring France, Salut!

1.Bankrobber - SO MUCH HATE
2.Passing Through - LIFE, BUT HOW TO LIVE IT?
3.Smash It Up - LIFE, BUT HOW TO LIVE IT?

TARGET OF DEMAND - Your Choice Live Series 1989

One more fine release is this very high-quality slab and this time with the Linz punk band Target Of Demand. This gig was recorded on 8. December 1989 live @ the Oberhaus, Alzey in Germany and they give us twelve melodic energetic punk trashers. Nothin' more to add but I like to give you a short info about Your Choice: the Your Choice Live Series is a benefit project, supporting the fight against fur trade, keeping people informed about different, more healthy ways of living through a different way of nourishment and helping people who had the courage to even go to jail for helping innocent and weak animals out of theirs. - Top idea which needs support. And now, enter the Oberhaus and be part of it.

LEATHERFACE & JAWBOX - Your Choice Live Series 1994

The "Your Choice Live Series", every gourmet knows about these great live recordings and all releases are recorded in a high brilliant quality. Since 1988 this serie is alive and a lot of cool records were released. On this piece of orange vinyl we have two bands I would not use more words to describe them, Leatherface are known to everyone and I think Jawbox as well. Nothin' more to say, except I like the A-side more because Sunderland's punkrocker are one of my favourites and all albums are milestones. Marylands Jawbox isn't bad but the music's not mine. This record was released with two inserts, a further point for the label. And now: enjoy the record and this sweeping live sound.

ARTICLES OF FAITH - Give Thanks 1984

Door #8: debut album on Reflex Records by this awesome combo, Articles Of Faith (1981-1985) which decisively shaped the hardcore scene of the city and was one of the oldest & most important bands of the Chicago punk scene. Originally they went by the name "Direct Drive," but changed over to AOF. Fronted by Vic (vocals(guitar), Dorian & Joe (guitars), Dave (bass), Virus X (drums), the scope of AOF's impact went beyond musical boundries. They might have been the first true hardcore band in this city and were instumental in promoting and organizing shows. Specifically, they were responsible for organizing the shows at the Centro-American Social Club (CASC). 1982 they released their first highlight What We Want Is Free EP with four blastsThey rented out the space, booked and promoted the shows. They even put up the out of town bands and provided a hang-out spot at their house which was lovingly called, "Big Blue." They played their final show in July 1985 at the Cubby Bear. The band reunited in 1991 for a European tour which resulted in the release of a live album through Germany's Your Choice Live Series Records. They reunited again in 2010 for some shows in Chicago, including Riot Fest. That same year they released a 12" EP of new material. - Their debut has ten goodies and is a catchy mix of intense crackers to melodic reflections and the five are gladly seen on numerous essential compilations.
