X-BELIEBIG - Leben Ist Blut 7'' 1982

Started 1980 in Vienna, X-Beliebig based primarily on German Punk, although none of them felt as a punk. After months of rehearsals, followed later that year the first performance at the Wiener Neustadt Snack Bar, followed by numerous gigs which organized by the band themselves and in summer they released their first 7'' on Panza-Platte, "Leben Ist Blut" become a hit at the U4. Founding member Franz then left the band and was replaced by Zoltán and they moved away from punk and turned more towards to Wave (inspired by bands such as Joy Division). Shortly they released a mini-LP which is hardly known today and extremely difficult to find. After a gig in Innsbruck the band disbanded in 1983. DÄMMERATTACKE - Das Märchen EP 1981

Damn, I'm late with this slab, it was requested seven years ago and I said yes. Sorry for the extreme delay, but I'll take care of it today. Not many records exist from this combo which were formed by school friends 1979 in the Wiener Neustadt called Dämmerattacke and the line-up were Walter (vocals/guitar), Thomas (bass), Wolfgang (drums), Erich (keys), Michael (sax/vocals) and 1980 they performed together with X-Beliebig @ the Vienna Amerlingbeisl and gained attraction of Austrian Punk pioneer Panza who released this fucking 7Inch on his Panza-Platte label (200 copies) and we enjoy four shallow New Wave goodies and if you want to get the original EP you have to dig deep into your pockets, which of course is completely exaggerated in my opinion, there is no re-release either (their only album Tausend Seen was reissued in 2012 in an limited edition, if that interests you). The album received unfortunately not much attention (I think the Punk community wasn't open to this kind of music) and after this commercial failure the band was dropped by distributor Ariola and folded by its members. Thomas and Wolfgang later formed the Bates Men.

I have to admit, I can't listen to their songs all the time, I have to be in the right mood and it may sound clichéd, but this is exactly the right music for gray November days like today. But it's all a matter of taste, as always. Dämmerattacke is a clinical term for states of short-term altered consciousness and now decide whether you wanted to do this to yourself or not... I say: you can do it!

V/A - Bloodstains Across Austria 2019

All right folks, now a brand new Bloodstains compilation and this time we focus the likeable Austria punk years 1978-1987 and we meet twenty-four divine examples from the beautiful Alps Republic and some of these rare goodies you can find in this blog - Snotty punk, melodic wave and rocking bangers shake hands and illustrate how versatile and colorful the Austrian scene was at that time. That's why I got the idea to pay tribute to them with this nice compilation (otherwise nobody else will do it). That's just a small selection of great bands but I'm very satisfied with the result and the liner notes and I don't wanna say thx at this point, those are hereby most cordially greeted and I hope you enjoy it!

Panza-Platte released with this excellent sampler a colorful bunch of bands and band projects, which Panza and Ronald Fleischmann brought together for this limited editon of 1000 copies compilation. And here we have more punkrock on it and like the "Die Tödlich Dosis" comp. with rare and explosive stuff. Lined with a few live recordings and obscure songs is this LP again a pleasure of early Austrian subculture. Some Bands have also released more records and they are extrem rare nowadays. Get it!!

Oh Yeah, it's fantastic to be at home by such a frosty weather!
