F-WORD! - Like It Or Not (Live!) 1978

One 7Inch, one album, that's all what F-Word! (part of the first wave of Los Angeles punk explosion from the late 1970s) released and their debut, via Posh Boy Records, was recorded spring 1978 @ Mabuhay Gardens, San Francisco. Twelve unvarnished wild nuggets are witnesses of this amazing performance. One of the first live slabs, I would say.

SEX PISTOLS - Kill The Hippies In Atlanta 05.01.1978

Pretty cool shot of the Sex Pistols which was recorded in Atlanta/Georgia @ the Great Southeast Music Hall on 5th January, 1978 and released via Big Music. It was their first show in the states and we all know, nine days later they gave their last concert in San Francisco and then the band split, making their ways separately to Los Angeles. McLaren, Cook and Jones prepared to fly to Rio de Janeiro for a working vacation. Vicious, in increasingly bad shape, was taken to Los Angeles by a friend, who then brought him to New York, where he was immediately hospitalised. Rotten flew to New York, where he announced the band's break-up in a newspaper interview on 18 January. I think the states came too early and the people there were not ready for the shockers from Europe but Malcolm saw it differently and so the tragedy took its course. Anyway, I still enjoy their music and without them Punk would not be what it is today.

V/A - A Small Retrosperspective (Live!) 2019

A new product from WDM Records and because April is dedicated to Live posts grew the idea of a superb compilation with recordings that I found here and there or slumbered on my hard disk. Preferably with bands that I have partially experienced and I often put on my turntable. I think the result can be heard and seen, and especially the artwork of old tickets has been buzzing in my mind for a long time, it has brought back a lot of fantastic memories, it was nice! I wish you a varied listening pleasure with this small retrosperspective.

PLACEBO - @ Olympia Hall, Paris 13.03.2003

I remember, I first came in touch with this three piece with their 7Inch Every You Every Me and I thought to myself, WOW!..who is that?.. lively fresh music, cool voice, great lyrics and it took not long, I bought their first two albums and I'm still a big fan of their music, even a concert in Offenbach on 17.03.2001 I visited. What I like is their sound developed throughout their career, adopting diverse elements from other genres and their quiet pieces meet exactly my dark side. A bit info: Placebo is alternative rock combo from London and were founded in 1994 by Scottish-Belgian singer/guitarist Brian Molko and Swedish bassist/guitarist Stefan Olsdal. Original drummer Robert Schultzberg recorded the band’s debut self-titled album in 1996, but was replaced shortly after by drummer Steve Hewitt. They are known for their androgynous image and angst-fueled musical content. To date, they have released seven studio albums. This very good bootleg was released by Sandie Records and reflects twenty views through their first four. Molko has been quoted as calling the band "for outsiders, by outsiders." Any questions? No, then enjoy the concert!

7 SECONDS - One Plus One (Live!) 1987

Before I dedicate myself to the second semi-final in Bremen comes this little slab by the 7 Secondsa punk band from Reno/Nevada. The band started out playing hardcore but have changed their sound throughout the years, touching on emo-core, alternative rock and pop-punk. Formed on January 17, 1980, by the Marvelli brothers, who used the punk names Kevin Seconds and Steve Youth, and the Borghino brothers, who took the names Tom Munist and Dim Menace. The band has gone through numerous lineup changes over the subsequent years, with only Kevin and Steve remaining constant members. In 2018 the band finally broke up. This is their fifth album and was recorded @ Club Can't Tell, Sacto 15.02.1987 and El Dorado Saloon, Sacto 06.06.1987, released via Giant Records/Positive Force Records and equipped with twelve cool numbers.

LES RATS - En Concert 1990

Besides some re-ups now a little live tape by Intox Production from Les Rats (drowned in the high school routine student life of a remote suburb where the future which they are promised does not like them, it is not by chance if Joss, Patrice, Jean-Michel & Laurent meet since they share the same juvenile fantasy: to become a rock band one day. Like those who bathed their adolescence with wild riffs and media scandals to make their parents pale. It doesn't matter if their material aiding the sounds that leave their instruments can make believe that they become stars because they have rabies in their stomach.... They will be called RATS!) which was recorded in Lyon on 18.01.1989 and we listen to ten dirty catchy smasher in a solid sound quality and I don't wanna write more because all info is available via the Tequila post and I recommend you a click there. I'm tired from the first working day after the famous Easter days.

VENOM - @ Hellfest, Clisson 20.06.2015

The Gods of Black Metal and to date the undisputed #1 are Venom from Newcastle which were formed 1978 and with some breaks still active. Fifteen albums (I only have two left) appeared during this period and with their extreme music they enthrall countless fans all over the world. In 2015 they played at the Hellfest which went three days and here is their gig in a fantastic recording quality. So join the Venom's Legions, pick up the double album From Hell To Unknown as well and have a sunny Easter Monday. Now I have to ride with my bike to Heike's brunch in the heart of Offenbach.

ZOWISO - At A Jogtrot To Death 1982

Now a request and not really a live record but with two cuts at the Rote Fabrik/Zurich from 8. July 1982, which belong to the record as a free single, so don't buy any for expensive money without. In the early 1980s, Wormer was known as a punk center and fourteen bands from the region were on the Oorwormer compilation and Zowiso started 1980, initially under the name Slanders, and were formed by Eric (guitars), Rick (bass), Aad (drums) and John (vocals) who joined the band a little later. The first performances were made in 1981. They did a lot of performances together with The Ex, which gave Zowiso a certain name recognition. The band did more than 150 performances, crossing the border to countries including: Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Denmark. This is their debut on Atoomaatje Records with twenty-two played nice, snotty & unconventional numbers, refined with fast shorties, exact my cup of tea. In May 2006 they played a reunion performance at Club Helsinki. That's it for now, enjoy Easter and see you soon.

V/A - Can You Hear Me? Music From The Deaf Club 1980

A decent live compilation by PVC Records/Gammon Records is this little record which was recorded at the legendary Deaf Club in San Francisco with local bands. The Deaf Club was a notable music venue located on Valencia Street for two years until closure in december 1980 and many cool bands performed there as you can see on the insert. Recorded on a mobile 8 track during early 1979 and it's a testament to the authentic underground punk and "new wave" scene during that period in San Francisco's music history.

2.Short Songs - DEAD KENNEDYS
3.Straight A's - DEAD KENNEDYS

NEON PRUNES - Rat Tracks 1998

Now a rare gem by the Neon Prunes, a short lived combo from Frankfurt and consisted of Ilka (vocals), Ralvieh (guitar), Eaglebauer (bass) and Jesco (drums) and they released 1995 a tape via Get Happy Records and three years later it was thrown again among the people as CD in an edition of 100 copies. The first half was recorded at Dreikönigskeller, Frankfurt on 29.01.1993, the other are rehearsal demos from 1992. The sound quality is rather modest but who has already visited the small cozy cellar knows how fast the mood rises and the evening turns out to be a family celebration, plus the delicious beer and everyone is in a good mood, as far as I can tell - Solid mid-tempo punk in English, what more you want.
