LARSEN - Requiem 7'' 1984

Madrid based combo Larsen released their first EP No! via Spansuls Records and is fantastic four track record but the stars ain't stood good for them. After the release Monje (vocals/guitar) left and from then they continued as trio and José, a friend of the band, took over the mic. More info from discogs: With Chema on vocals they recorded two sessions, but the recordings were never released. The first sessions were initially planned for an LP, and what was going to be its first single Requiem was released in 1984. But the Spanish label Spansuls Records never paid to the studio for the sessions, so they confiscated the master tapes and the LP was forgotten. The second sessions took place in Winter of 1984, this time paid by the band members. Unfortunatelly for the band, no label was interested in releasing the material, so the tapes were stored and forgotten until some of the material was finally released in 2001 as Larsen by Potencial Hardcore. After that, Pollo & Mosca started rehearsing with Manolo from La Uvi and Commando 9mm was formed. Sortly after that the two musicians started focusing on C9mm and Larsen was finally forgotten and in early 1985 the group disbanded. Both EP's were put together on CD called Vomitas Sangre and came out by Radikal 1977 Records in 2002.

COMMANDO 9mm - Amor Frenopático 1986

Great debut by Commando 9mm from Madrid. Formed by two other groups which dissolved in 1984. On the one hand, Manolo (vocals/bass), member of La Uvi, and El Pollo (guitars) & El Mosca (drums) from LarsenThey began to play in a venue on Calle De Embajadores. In this place they composed their first songs and in 1985 they won the third prize in the VIII edition of the Rock Villa Trophy in Madrid and the city council releases their first 7Inch Odio En Sudamérica via Ayuntamiento De Madrid which is pretty extraordinary, I thinkThe album shows the bands energy and the songs are powerful and present their musical arguments. They did it solidly based on the forcefulness that came from the second line, the one that the drummer usually occupies on stage, Pollo's implacable manner on the guitar and Manolo's personal voice, almost the only possible one, one would say, for the sound of Commando 9mm. Ramonian punk-rock, resounding songs with a clear vocation for entertainment. Musically, the group's first album was mainly marked by The Professionals, the post Sex Pistols combo. Amor Frenopático was released via La General, a subsidiary of Fonomusic and the first change of the drums takes place, entering Jesús Bracero in substitution of El Mosca. Jesús recorded the drums on side A, while El Mosca recorded the other half. Spirited and expressive songs from one of my favorite bands from Spain and whose power is further refined in the following albums. - 1:1 yesterday was okay, will be difficult in Barcelona.

COMMANDO 9mm - Únete Al Commando 1987

After their great debut 'Amor Frenopatico' Commando 9mm planted with their second album one more fantastic record with fourteen excellent tracks via La General in the in the fruity soil of the underground. Commando 9mm is the result of two other groups which dissolved in 1984, La Uvi and LarsenThey began to play in a place on Embajadores and composed first songs. In 1985 they won the 3rd prize in the 8th edition of the Rock Villa Trophy in Madrid and the town hall produced a single Odio En Sudamérica. The start was done and they were very successful and to date five albums were recorded and sometime in 2002 the band broke up. Represented on some compilations, two of that are the ingenious Viva La Punk slabs.. with this sound into the weekend!

LARSEN - No! EP 1983

Larsen were from Madrid and were one of the pioneers of Punkrock in Spain, with a lot of influences of postpunk bands like Joy Division. Emerge in 1980 in Madrid were Monje on vocals, Pollo (guitars), Rana (bass) and Mosca (drums). Monje's distinctive voice quickly becomes a renowned group of Movida particularly through their song "The French Border." In 1982, Monje left the group, becoming a trio until 1984, when Chema joined as new singer. In the spring of 1985 the group eventually disbanded and Pollo and Mosca, along with components of the ICU, formed another Punk band called Commando 9mm, perhaps the most long-lived punk band from Spain.
