Obscure four piece from Hagen and Hunger! is their only vinyl appearance, released in a limited edition of 500 copies on Tonträger 58 Hagen, and the band consisted of Frank (vocals), Günter (guitars), Detlef (bass), Peter (drums). Besides this 12Inch, the band had a couple of compilation invitations, and I mean "a couple". Musically enjoyable five entertaining numbers which doesn't necessarily contribute to global warming, but if you want to create a podcast with early rare German contemporaries, you should listen to the Herren and make use of it. Interesting slab in any case and now I'm going to have a five-course meal for breakfast & don't be jealous, friends. 🍠

V/A - Rock Anti Mili 1988
Another great compilation, originally released as tape to support any facilities, occupied houses, etc... and finally reissued, and for the first time on vinyl, by El Lokal six years ago, motto: Rock Anti Mili! Not difficult to guess what the twenty-one, partly well-known, bands want and I think it's still a hot topic today, because who needs fucking orders, uniforms & armys? Little fat ugly types who can't satisfy their woman/man and don't know what "LIFE" means, types with massive inferiority complexes, unscrupulous industrial bastards, blah blah blah... I can name a lot more assholes, but let's leave that, the inculcation of such benefits has been substantially pioneered and influenced by our subculture; beautiful noises spread out from this record and I love the aggressiveness of Spanish bands and this wonderful slab has enough of them. Comes with lyric-sheet and cool artwork. ENJOY!!

V/A - Killed By John Peel #1 2020
Friends, there is hope again on the KBD front and after a long time finally a new compilation is out and the creators of Vatican Radio Records have the great idea "to conjure up one of the best punk rock compilations we've heard in a long time, from the amazingly rich vaults of John Peel's BBC 1 radio session recordings. Focusing on the less known side of the huge Peel Sessions catalog, Killed By John Peel comes stuffed to the rafters with mind blowing and little known gems from the opening track with French Synth Punk pioneers Métal Urbain and the incendiary recording of their hit E-202 to the closing with the kick ass Power Pop Punk hit She's Alarming by the Wasps, each and every single track on this monster record presents a band at their prime giving it all @ the legendary BBC Radio1 studios." And to my knowledge, Volume 2 is about to be release and we can look forward to it. Great stuff and absolute essential!

THE CLASH - s/t LP 1977
Veteran of the punk movement and one of the most influential bands that shaped our culture. Their debut album is still the best for me and belongs in every well-stocked record collection. A few basics: The Clash were formed 1976 in London as a key player in the original wave of British punk rock. They also contributed to the post-punk and new wave movements that emerged in the wake of punk and employed elements of a variety of genres including reggae, dub, funk, ska, and rockabilly. For most of their recording career, the Clash consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Joe Strummer, lead guitarist and vocalist Mick Jones, bassist Paul Simonon, and drummer Nicky "Topper" Headon. Headon left the group in 1982 and internal friction led to Jones' departure the following year. The group continued with new members, but finally disbanded in early 1986. You can read more about their records and career, etc.. in the net. I need a little refreshment and open now a cold Allgäuer, Cheers!

DIE PILGERVÄTER - Sind Im Garten... 1989
I would certainly haven't met this band and the Pilgerväter are certainly no amateurs and their only record proves that impressively. The story began circa thirty years ago; I did my community service in a shitty youth hostel in Lüneburg as a cheap work slave. I can tell ya, such an institution requires lots of fucking work. We were four hookers and one was on my wavelength and we became friends. Then he came up with this record and we listened to the sounds, at first I thought of funpunk or such uninteresting stuff, but the opposite is the case. Really powerful songs (including two well-known cover versions), perfect production, sexy cover and great lyrics, which the singer brings across with his distinctive voice. I asked him to tape the slab for me (JaJa, back then it was still a way to swap music). After this good time we lost sight of each other because he lives near Hamburg. Once we met again, my girlfriend at the time lived there and I spent almost three years in the hanseatic city. Somehow he was in movies as statist and was aiming for a film career, I don't know if that worked out, I had no ambitions, did retraining and scratched somehow the dough for the rent together. Today I haven't been to Hamburg for a long time, unfortunately. I had a lot of nice experiences there, now only memories. - A few facts: Die Pilgerväter were from Nienburg/Weser, Lower Saxony, and founded in Autumn 1985 by Germar (vocals/guitar), Norwin (guitar), Carsten (bass) and Andreas (drums). After some drummer changes Sven joins the band in 1987. They record their self produced album "Sind im Garten..." in 1989 at the Pepermint Park Studios in Hannover. The band split in 1990. Prost and kind regards to Jan 🍻

V/A - Kovimmat Takaiskut 1987
Before I go home, a small compilation from the Finnish Poko Rekords label, known of its releases with several different styles. And this record documents their philosophy. Personally, I like varied samplers, there is always something new to discover, sometimes fascinating, sometimes incredibly shit-awful or something inbetween. The Lizard track for example, is a hermaphrodite; has a brisk rhythm, woman on the microphone, sometimes two-part but the saxophone is annoying, that works okay in the good ole Rock'N'Roll days, and not always there either. Then rather Mekaaniset Kakut with their drum machine, short & concise. Their only 7Inch is cool as well. I would say 85% of the mix is worth listening to and that's enough for a positive overall impression. Feierabend für heute.
1.Thunderball - TRIES
2.Tähtien Rauha - KOLLAA KESTÄÄ
3.Kaljupäinen Gangsteri - KARANTEENI
4.Tarzan (Tarzan's Marsch) - ÖYSTILÄ
5.Cark Park Drama - ART POP COMBO
6.Body Building - LIZARDS
7.Loch Lomond Rock - JAMROCK BAND
8.Mä Voin Kertoa Sulle - MEKAANISET KAKUT
9.Yö Asematunnelin Keskitysleirissä - VAU!!
10.Tornion Kevät - TERVEET KÄDET
11.Tiina Ottaa Eron - MÄDS
12.Betonikolossit - VANDAALIT
13.Hamina On Kaupunki - DYNAMO
14.Peili - WRUM
15.Lasinen Elämä - JARI KULLERVO
WARFARE - Noise Noise Noise (Lost Demos) 2015
Powerful record of one of my favorite bands and I'm really happy that some lengthy relationships implement such an idea and make it possible. Raising money is really not the reason, but for us maniacs as a thank you for beeing loyal fans. Warfare were Heavyypunx from Newcastle, founded in 1982 and disbanded in 1993. Their first line-up was Evo (vocals / drums), Gunner (guitars), Falken (bass) and this formation recorded the first two albums, which in my opinion are damn great and nowadays put some so-called hardcore bands in the shade. For High Roller Records Evo has now opened his vast archive of rare and unreleased Warfare recordings. The first release in the “vaultage series” is called "Noise Noise Noise (The Lost Demos)", a compilation of thirteen “lost” Warfare demos. “The source of those demos are first generation analogue cassettes,” explains Evo and features alternative versions of numerous early Warfare classics such as Burn Down The Kings Road, New Age Of Total Warfare or the wild Two Tribes (originally by Frankie Goes To Hollywood) as well as a plethora of completely unreleased material." I can only recommend you to buy this slab and don't be satisfied with cheap mp3s... the Total Death EP and a little compilation are required as well. More infos on HHR and now enjoy the furious and passionate ecstasy of the three.

L.S.K. - Rückkehr Zum Ort Des Geschehens 1998
Second long player by L.S.K. from Rathenow on their own label Moon Records which was recorded in just two days. The band consisted of Seve (vocals/bass), Kilian (guitars), E.S. (drums) and I'm a little late with the record. Coincidence would have it that I now come across it again because I want to transport their music to my phone and read in the comments that I should rip their second one. Said and done. Twelve dark nuggets are on it and was the debut rather populated with short, concise pieces, L.S.K. wrote more mature and melodic songs. Lyrically still personally and a little sadly desperate. In 2002 the band was buried and continued as Die Angst who publish pieces here and there. Currently, a strictly limited 10Inch (29 copies) by the singer is out under the name All Those Riots Are Gone on Sick Suck Records, which I can highly recommend, if you get one. For those who are late, all records are re-upped. Now I'll see what's next, endless raining outside, time for a long music day.

VORWÄRTS - A Trip Down Memory Lane 2002
Swiss punk veterans Vorwärts are from the area of Basel, founded by Udi (vocals), RR & Bibä (guitars), Nutty (bass), Roli (drums), and today the oldest Punk combo from Switzerland still playing live. In 1984, when singer Udi and his friends went into the studio for the first time and the result is the very much sought nameless five track 12'', 300 copies exist. Vorwärts already had several years of service under their belt: the band was formed 1979 and Udi remembers his first contact with the punk movement, which was only slowly making its way from London and New York to the Upper Basel area. "When punk was born in 1976/77 we had no idea," he says. It wasn't until two years later that he heard the first songs by the Ramones, The Damned, Clash and Sex Pistols and had pictures in the "Pop/Rocky”or “Musikexpress”. That "simply blown him and his friends away", as he told the bz: "Punk was so much better, more urgent and more important than anything we had heard before." The founding of his own band was "an outbreak, a departure, an undreamt-of freedom". Forward hit the Zeitgeist and were able to record their first successes: with their song TV Generation the quintet made it onto national radio and with a self-made clip (you can find it on YouTube under the title Boring Generation) even on Swiss television. But in their early years, Vorwärts not only met with approval. It belonged then that they were insulted as “Schwuli Söu”, “Gsindel” and “Soupack” because of their appearance - “bright green and black striped jeans, studded belts and bracelets, sprayed shirts, holes in clothes, a lot of leather and so on” the everyday life of the five young men. In 1988 the dissolution followed due to various individual follow-up projects and 1998 the reunion on the occasion of the wedding of a band member and since then they still active and their last record was released two years ago for their 40th year existence! MANIACS & ZYKLOME A - Split EP 2017
Two fantastic bands which were active in the 80s and significantly shaped the rough fast hardcore style. Two songs per combo, all four already published but here in different versions, I guess they are demos, at least they sound more raw and edgy. I like that scruffy sound and they are always welcome. I have re-upped all the records in the blog so that you can enjoy them to the full and I promise you, there are divine specimens among them. Maniacs were punx from Rotenburg an der Fulda, formed 1982 and disbanded in the early 1990's. They made three albums and two 7Inches. Zyklome A were punx from Bonheiden, active from 1980 to 1985. They made one album and 7Inch in the mid 80s. Solid release by Power It Up Records.
