Long ago that I posted a 7Inch and now a little rare thing by rather unknown Punk band from Wigan, Lancashire/England called The Deceased which were active 1979-1984 and members were Gassy (vocals), Hatty (guitar/bass), Poddy (bass), Eddie (drums) and this is their only record. After two demos Insane Records grabbed them on their 1983 compi I've Got Those Demo-Lition Blues! where they open the slab with one song. A few tape contributions followed until finally the French label New Wave Records used another one for the ingenious 1984 The Second (I think I have that) album and then they also pressed this little piece. Death Trip is an excellent mid-tempo tune with nice distorted guitars plus solo and Consumer Addict is a cool slower stomper. Round thing that!

V/A - Russia Bombs Finland 1982
The perfect sound for a Monday comes today from Finland, more precisely by Helsinki's Propaganda label (specializes mainly in Finnish hardcore, punk and much more) that gave birth to this fantastic compilation over thirty-seven years ago and has not lost any of its hardness and fresh sound in my opinion. All bands are likely known to every maniac of fast-paced short songs, you can find some records in the blog, and for those who want to discover this heart attack noises for themselves this record is an excellent start, I promise. And if you don't have enough of this plenty harsh stuff I recommend you the essential Killed By Finnish Hardcore compilation by Redrum Records... b.t.w. the first 500 copies came partly with booklet which I don't have.

LEGAL WEAPON - Death Of Innocence 1982
Legal Weapon was an early Southern California punk band, initially composed of singer Kat Arthur, guitarist Brian Hansen, drummer Charlie Vartanian, bassist Patricia Morrison and guitarist Mike R. Livingston. The band's early full-length albums Death Of Innocence (for which their lineup included Steve Soto and Frank Agnew of the Adolescents) and Your Weapon were well-received, its later efforts less so. Kat Arthur, with her powerful voice, has been called "the Janis Joplin Of PUNK". In 1982 they released their debut album, Death Of Innocence (to many, their punk masterpiece) and there were no singles released from the album. The songwriting and musicianship had improved noticably since the No Sorrow 12'', which is impressive considering only about five months had elapsed between the release of the bands debut effort and the release of the much more ambitious "Death Of Innocence". Ten outbursts on it and most of the album's songs, though, are straight ahead, roaring punk rock, the sound Kat and Legal Weapon were best at. "This well-produced debut album by L.A.'s Legal Weapon presents a solid collection of hard rock numbers in the same general style as 45 Grave, but without the satanic Compositions like the kinetic rocker "Daddy's Gone Mad" utilize Kay Arthur's rather plaintive voice to good advantage, even though the highlight of Death of Innocence is probably the haunting "Wanna Be" - a ballad. This album definitely grows on you. - Steve Spinali (from MRR #2, September/October 1982) - Sad info at the end: Kat died at her home in Leimert Park early Sunday evening on 14. October 2018.

KITCHEN & THE PLASTIC SPOONS - Best Off 2007
Kitchen & The Plastic Spoons formed at a basement rehearsal studio in Stockholm, Sweden during the spring of 1980. The band consisted of Anne Taivan (vocals), Helena Lönnqvist (synthesizer), Iggo Karlsson (synthesizer), Jackie Pazda (bass), and Mats Wigerdal (drums). After a few concerts, Kitchen booked some free studio time and recorded their first single “Serve You!” in two days. Six months later Patrik Lindvall (guitar) joined the group and the band recorded their second single “Ice Cream To God” in early 1981. Kitchen’s sound was getting darker and heavier and so was the mood in the band. Anne shortly left and was replaced by Iodine Jupiter on vocals. This new line up recorded a few songs for local compilations. The band broke up in November 1981 before recording their debut album.
“Screams To God” collects Kitchen & The Plastic Spoons two EPs, two compilation tracks as well as three demos from 1980 never before released on vinyl. Kitchen were part of the new DIY generation starting bands, making self- produced singles and rapidly breaking up. Their sound echoes the speedy chaotic energy with the synthesizer as its driving pulse. Anne’s vocals are barely understandable but they have a sense of urgency. They didn’t’ sound like any other band in Sweden at the time, having more in common with American bands, Devo, The Screamers and Pere Ubu.
All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in a full color spot gloss jacket with a photo of Anne with bright magenta hair. Each LP includes an insert with liner notes, song descriptions and photos. Although the group burned out after a year, this compilation shows their energy and attitude to be just as liberating and unusual today. (source: darkentriesrecords)
The band reformed in 2008 and played the Drop Dead Festival, October 8-12 2008 in Lisbon, Portugal. They plan to perform occasionally at Synth and Goth-oriented venues and festivals.

G.B.H - City Baby Attacked By Rats 1982
Oh Yeah, we come to fast aggressive straight up punk and heavy guitar riffs by Birmingham's finest: G.B.H with their first full length on Clay Records and after almost forty years still a highlight in punk history. What should I tell you more? Music that clears your mind, so full of energy and dynamic, a sound that shuts out all your worries and you get the feeling that everything is possible! I want to quote a final review which I can only underline and the rest info can be found on sputnikmusic. "G.B.H's debut album, City Baby Attacked By Rats is an important album for the hardcore punk genre. The album remains a standout and is essential in the band's big discography. Even though albums like these aren't known for their diversity; it is the really the only major con. I would recommend picking up or at least give a listen to this if you are a fan of classic punk music, hardcore, even metal or just punk in general. This would also be a good album to start if you are new to the band." Enough for today, WDM has to rest.
DER DURSTIGE MANN - Saufen Ohne Ende 12'' 1984
So, some re-upps are done and the weekneds here so I come with along with a delicious 12'' by Der Durstige Mann, everybody knows, everybody loves, stand for strong minimalistic punk rock with a touch of wave sound. Surely you know some of their albums, for example the Bier 4 Tot or Hellblaun albums, and I must say they get more musically from record to record, also here too, all six songs have a melody, a nice rhythm and singing lessons were apparently also took, haha... Honestly, you can say what you want, this band from Frankfurt is so damn unique and I always love listen to them. This 12'' is megarare and I am very pleased to present this stuff on wdthtc. Enough words, mandatory download and the journey into a galactic weekend is opened.

THE DAZZLERS - Feeling Free 1979
Last post in January and we welcome the Dazzlers, a Cambridge-based powerpop group comprising Keith Wild (vocals), Rob Harper (guitar), Steve Slack (bass) and Dave Modesty; drums) and they split up shortly before Feeling Free was released on Charisma. In addition, three singles were released which are also worth listening to and on some compilations the four are represented, here are two of them: Neighbour Annoyer & Screaming Fists #2. With this twelve nuggets a long evening ends with lots of new music and to many cigarettes. The weekend is twenty hours away and I need the two days off like a fish the water. Good Night!
V/A - Cultural Compost Pit! 1985
Pretty awesome tape from Mothra Productions with thirty five bands from around the world with huge tophits. Excellent selection I can only say!, a brilliant Hardcore Punk onslaught pulled by rare 7Inches and other secret sources with nice little info-sheet makes this an excellent stew with hot spices and bite-sized chunks, add a slice of rye bread and beer and it's done... but beware! breaks through well, so don't forget toilet paper.

NEUES DEUTSCHLAND - s/t LP 1981
Also rather unknown band that consisted of three members: Peter (vocals), Sabine (drums) and George (guitars & bass) and as Rewix they released 1980 a 7Inch which is extremely rare these days and a year later they made their only album as Neues Deutschland on Iron Curtain Records/Herkules Records with sixteen solid four chord songs. Reminds me a bit of the sound of the Hamburg ZickZack label, simple and sometimes a bit experimental but by no means boring, could also go through as NDW. Lyrically they move in personal & sociocritical wording so that all in all a good punk record was made.
