Ahhhhh, the monitor problem is fixed and finally it goes forward in this theatre and I throw another german punk classic out. Toxoplasma came from Neuwied and were founded 1980 by Wally (vox), Stefan (bass), Harry (drums) and Markus (guitar), who was replaced after only a few samples by Uwe. The band name derives from the infectious disease toxoplasmosis, in which the singer Wally fell ill in the late 1970s. In 1981 they released a demo and one year later the band was represented on the German-American compilation Underground Hits of the Berlin label Aggressive Rockproduktionen (AGR) with three pieces, where they published the first album in the following year. At the same time, the band went on tour with the American reggae/hardcore punx Bad Brains through Germany. After this tour, Stefan switched to Canal Terror as drummer and Thomas "Mitch" Michel joined the band as bassist. In 1985, Harry got out too. After further changes and failures, the band broke up in 1986 for the first time. In the early 1990s Wally, Mitch and Uwe recorded with a drum computer new records with metal influence and that was it then for me. Their debut is still a great record and belongs definitely one of the top twenty German punk slabs.

2760 - Numbers 12'' 1980
Here's another rare record from a band I can't say much about. Presumably the reason is that this is not really a punk plate. The five gentlemen, from Stockholm I guess, prefer a rock sound like the Clash or something in this way. Released was this on Adventure Records and as far as I know their only record, they had more two songs on the Let It Out compilation and that's it. If you need something different like me as always '77 punk then is this the right choose. A welcome end to a long hard day.

ROUGH TRADE -s/t EP 1980
One more awesome punk band I can present you here is Rough Trade from Ålesund, Norway. They released this pretty self produced EP in 1980 and have been featured on compilations such Anarki & Kaos: Norsk Punk Vol.1 and Bloodstains Across Norway (coming soon). And if you like early scandinavian KBD sound then you will love this record. One side sung in native norwegian while the flip is held in english. Six numbers and they all have that dirty garage touch as I love it. The guys can play their instruments and what I like in particular is their flexibility. Fast Hardcore, Ska-elements and groovy '77 style crackers and even a live recording on this plate. Wow!! - Unfortunately track #3 is missing and should someone have it please send them. In 1994 the label Intense Heartbeat Records released a CD called Du Er En Dritt with all their recordings (twenty-one songs) and I will hear this, so feel free to drop me a mail. End of story!

STANDART OIL - Die Liebe Ist Nur Ein Spiel 7'' 1982
This 7inch came out on Panza-Platte and both tracks appeared later on their Mini-LP 'Nagasaki'. The band were founded 1980 in Vienna out from a band called 'Sprays' and they're playin' with different line-ups. They put out this 7inch, a mini album and were on several compilations, WienmusikK or Heimat Bist Du Größer Söhne are probably the punkiest ones. The music from Standart Oil is not really punk, it's more a kind of alternaive/new wave sound and sung in native Vienna dialect. The a-side is a nice reggae tune while the flip's a solide "Schunkel" number with sax and cool lyrics. In 1984 the band split up. I find the Austrian underground always interesting because there were more versatile genres and really genuine '77 punk bands can be counted on two hands, compare that with Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, etc.... In Austria is everything a little melancholic and this is exactly what I love about this country. These two songs are definitely one of them and just describe what I've just described, all right?

INFERNO - Tod & Wahnsinn 1984
Bad news folks, I think my computer fucked up because all I see is pink and it makes really no fun to work with this shit so this willbe for now the last post and after Crete I see how it goes on. Inferno is a great german hardcore band from Augsburg/Bavaria and formed in the early years of 1982. This is their debut album on Mülleimer Records and the music is a sheer pleasure. Most of the songs are fast, thrash-speed punk rock, although Inferno slow it down for mid-tempo songs and often add a melodic element as well. Lyrically the band seems to have good intentions, but don't really break any new ground. "Ram It Up" is kind of dumb, but really just seems to be German teenagers trying to be "punk" & singing in English a second language. Overall it's nicely done, but suffers a little bit from not really standing out in any area. Anyway, with twenty tracks is this a solid record and even Pushead was very pleased. Check them on these Compilations.
ROLF & REVOLTÖRERNA - Demo EP 2017
Never before released material from 81/82 by this Missbrukarna member studio project and Skrammel Records released this four hardcore killer attack. Fast, short, rough, no need for more words to describe their sound, not quite the right soundtrack for a cozy breakfast but considering that I'm in two hours at the dentist seems like Rolf is a good choice, cool artwork casually. Enjoy another magic excavations of punk archeology.

V/A - Tausend Tolle Tanzhits #1 1999
Pretty famous compilation of Punk, Hard and Grindcore by mostly unknown bands from Saxony-Anhalt and brought to life by Pohli, singer from Veitstanz, on Frei Zum Abriss Records. Twenty-six decent ones which put some major release in the shade and a real tonedocument of East German underground culture. A worthy start to my well deserved vacation. Now a little bit of house cleaning, repairing bicycle plates and then chillen.

KENNZEICHEN D - Gestört 1981
Very rare album by Kennzeichen D on Moderne Musik and the band consisted of Kalle (vocals & bass), Peter (guitars), & Willi (drums), founded in Lindern, nearby Cloppenburg (Lower-Saxony) and were active between 1979-1981. Charming the simple 8-Spur production which impress me and make some D-Punk records of the early 80's look old. I mean there are many countless famous records, many of them here in the blog, but I like such recrdings, somehow more authentic and I can imagine very well how it must have been back then in the studio. You have Bock to make music, start a band, write a few songs everything that bothers you, collect money and with a little luck there is the opportunity to ban these on vinyl and at concerts frenetic applause from 50-100 inveterate fellow campaigners. The slab is pressed in small edition and after thirty years it becomes a wanted rarity and you can say: I was there! What remains: Once punk, always punk! And now have fun, enjoy twelve times KZD and stay disturbed.
FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS - Return To Roots EP 1988
Yokohama hardcore punx Fearless Vampire Killers were active since 1987 and this little dittie with four excellent tracks was released via Luv Records and I guess they drove the accelerator back a bit, catchy melodic songs in English including a fantastic Beatles cover, Come Together I think, at least that sounds like this and improve me if I'm wrong. Three album plus a few 7Inches were made and lots of compilation goodies, one of them the 病原体 - Virus Jap record, the other Go Ahead Make My Day - Smashing Odds Ness 2 slab. Thx to: Waka (vocals), Dirty Gill (guitars), Swad (bass), Knaoi (drums) - Listen!

BRIARD - Chirpy Chirpy Cheap Cheap 7'' 1979
Rare third 7Inch on Love Records by this Finnish Heroes with two cover songs I think. They released their first single in November 1977 and split up two years later. They come together again and record their only album Miss World in 1983 and again in the mid 1990s. Nice realized and perfect party music.
