V/A - Bored Teenagers Vol.4 2006

Fourth volume of Bin Liner Records' highly anticipated Bored Teenagers series features a huge amount of rare and previously unheard Punk Rock artifacts. The Machines present us an alternative version of one of the tracks off their ultra rare EP and a previously unreleased track. The Ordinarys give's three previously unreleased tracks of pure Punky Power-Pop. The Running Sores were a novelty band formed by Dennis Munday, the A&R man for 'The Jam' - two tracks only previously on an acetate from 1976. Low Profyle bring's a track from their rare 1980 single. Public Pisstake, a never before heard slice of a Johnny Rotten pisstake from members of Sham 69, Masterswitch and The Cane was Kirk Brandon's (Theatre Of Hate/Spear Of Destiny) first ever recordings. Elevators, a track taken from their rare and highly collectable single. Steroid Kiddies bless us with one track taken from their rare EP and one previously unreleased track. The Introze contribute a track from their rare single and a previously unheard studio nugget. The CD version has bonus tracks from The Cane and The Ordinarys! Without a doubt, the most amazing volume in the series so far. Again with great booklet featuring rare photos and liner notes by band members. PROST!!!!

RATTLERS - Mä Oon Sun 7'' 1980

The Network of Friends works perfectly and I can present another nugget from the Wanted List. Rattlers from Raisio came fifth in Finnish rock championship competition in 1980. The band had been formed as early as 1976, but at that time it was known as Tigers (!). The lineup was Rinko (aka Rauno Ruonala): vocals, Mike (aka Mika Jokinen): guitar, Jaska Mäntylä: drums and Jouni Salovaara: bass. By 1979 Rattlers were already quite well-known, and they gigged extensively in and around Turku. Read the full bio on finnmusic if you want. Two delicious songs, not in the style of the great Ramones, the Rattlers make their own thing. Beautiful mid-tempo punk with quirky guitar sound, a loud shouter and a solid production (just right for lunch). But first, in launderette, get my laundry.

RUFTERS - Pats EP 1980

There came a lot of good records from the Netherlands so as well the next. The Rufters released this EP with 5 'Low-Fi' Punk smasher in 1980 and they have a particular sound and I can listen to many times. I think that you will love the songs too because finally you are not here for nothing landed. Otherwise, I can not say much about the band, this is probably their only release and I found no further info in the net. If anyone know more please use the comment section. That's all for today! SCHUND - Kämpfe Für Dich! [Tape] 1982

The "Kämpfe Für Dich!" Tape from Schund was recorded in 1981 by Michael Snoj (Kodak) and was also the basis for the very rare Schund EP and for the LP, which HöhNIE has released a few years ago, and is now already long sold out (read an interesting interview from HöhNIE with Doris here). In late 1981 punk photographer Mickey Kodak recorded with the short-lived Vienna punk band Schund over two separate microphones live in the rehearsal room a demo. Four songs from that were released of their 500 pieces s/t-EP and 'Chaos' as a contribution on the Heimat Bist Du Großer Söhne compilation on Panza-Platte. Schund came from the environment and cultured Gaga decorated in there rehearsal room a top-compact sound that allowed any comparisons with other Austrian punk bands. Their songs were usually made with just a few riffs and usually did not even chorus part, two unbraked minutes full throttle until the number was suddenly out. To the occurrence of Schund remembers Harry the Herbert, a founding member of the Böslinge: "Schund was actually a band that was perfect though, easily played punk, and live they really just sounded like on their plates." A real silver bullet were their lyrics, usually riddled with repetitive slogans that the self-image of the Vienna punk scene were able to articulate precisely and often real events and people openly called by name. Responsible for the songwriting was singer Doris, a native German who had not only a secure knack for cool lyrics, she was also a steadfast performerin. The band, however, comes to a bitter end when police in the summer of 1983 cleared the Gassergasse. Doris was filed and by the Austrian authorities deported. In this context, her lyrics to 'Chaos' sounds almost prophetic: "Das Leben ist zum Kotzen/Es macht mich an/Es gibt keine Zukunft/Und kein Glück/Chaos wird bald kommen" ("Life makes me sick/It cracks me up/There is no future/And no luck/chaos will come soon"). PARASITES - En Homage Aux Beatles EP 1991

The Parasites are a U.S. punk band and were from Livingston, New Jersey, and formed in 1985. The band has been releasing records since 1987. After breaking up in 1998 and again 2003, the band released a Best Of compilation in 2006, entitled Retro-Pop Remasters (Best Of) on Go Kart Records. A new lineup of the band is currently touring and will be releasing an album of new material in February 2009. This out of print record is a tribute to the Beatles on the twenty-fifth anniversary of their final American tour and kills every Beatles cover. Paperback Writer was the Beatles last number one hit before their concert retirement. Both Paperback Writer and I Feel Fine were performed at the final Beatles concert August 29th, 1966 at San Francisco's Candlestick Park. 3 classic tracks + one useless radio ad. Limited to 1466 numbered copies on clear vinyl. Great!!

LARSEN - No! EP 1983

Larsen were from Madrid and were one of the pioneers of Punkrock in Spain, with a lot of influences of postpunk bands like Joy Division. Emerge in 1980 in Madrid were Monje on vocals, Pollo (guitars), Rana (bass) and Mosca (drums). Monje's distinctive voice quickly becomes a renowned group of Movida particularly through their song "The French Border." In 1982, Monje left the group, becoming a trio until 1984, when Chema joined as new singer. In the spring of 1985 the group eventually disbanded and Pollo and Mosca, along with components of the ICU, formed another Punk band called Commando 9mm, perhaps the most long-lived punk band from Spain.

TURBO - Nattens Barn 7'' 1980

An interesting record comes up now and be warned, this is not really a punk record. I mean they have the '77 spirit in their sound but this is high energy heavy metal stuff... but not so bad. Turbo was a Swedish rock band formed in 1979. In 1980 they recorded this 7inch on Ori Records with two numbers and a rehearsal demo tape. Ola Persson, Christian Karsson and Paul Gustavsson joined later the swedish doom metallers Mercy (?). 'Nattens Barn' (Children Of The Night) immediately goes off and bangs neatly in the head. 'Asfaltsrock' keep up the pace and's on fire too. Of course, skillful short solos are included. Something different and I am very pleased. Really good!!

THE BROMMERS - Defekt EP 1980

A fantastic 7inch in a brilliant KBD style and the only release as far as I know from the Brommers, Den Haag. 500 numbered copies on P.P.O.P. Records, different screen painted sleeve and a copy with lyrics inside. So yesterday I ripped the bootleg compilation Punkrock From Holland with tons of rare stuff and the Brommers with 'Fine Words' on it and I thought their EP is a nice post here. I check my hard drive and here it is. Don't know from which Blog I found this but that doesn't matter. Four tracks all fantastic, only the last hobbles a bit behind. I think I'm going to rip more records while recovering from my annoying cold. Let's see if I have more desire to post today, the main thing the coffee tastes. More compilations featuring the band Killed By Epitaph and The Hague '80 Live.

LOW BUDGET BAND - No More Military Forces 7'' 1981

Obscure Rockin' Punk Band from Kassel with their lone single. Mr.Austria send me the flip 'No Fashion' and I was immediately blast. Damn fat guitar '77 punk and this song sounds like Ramones at 16 RPM. So I check discogs for this and search the www for the a-side. Found it but the b-side is the winner (title track is not bad but a bit too rocky) so I ask my friend in Vienna and he sent the whole record with covers in. One thing is certain, this 7inch is not listed as a punk rock record and disappeared into obscurity but what the five people here celebrating is exceptionally hot shit. I would not hesitate to perpetuate this band on a Killed By Death sampler. Listen to it and be besotted by this dirty heavy grime sound.

THE DADISTICS - Paranoia Perception 7'' 1979

The Dadistics from Chicago were an early new wave punk band. They played from 1978-1981 and released two records. They were a regular performer at O'Banions during their time together. Vocalist Audrey: "There was the first 45, that we put out all on our own and sold at gigs, with Modern Girl/Paranoia Perception. We, as a group sat in Freds basement and all had a part in putting the record jacket together.. you fold, you glue, you do the insert, you stuff into the protective cover kind of evenings. Once BOMP picked it up, they released those two songs as A sides and asked for two more songs for the B sides, which were: Later Baby and Cry For Yourself. We were also added to two different BOMP Compilations. 'Experiments In Destiny' and the other one was called 'Waves' (Anthology of new music volume 2. spring 1980)." Fast new wave rock/power pop and the punk influence is still there, but you can tell they’re going for the mass appeal. Other recordings never made it out to the public. After breaking up, vocalist Audrey Stanzler was a part of the original lineup of Ministry.
