Pankrti (The Bastards in Slovene) were a punk rock band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, active in the late 70's and during the 80's. The band started playing in fall of 1977, practicing in the basement of Kodeljevo's music school, and held the first concert at Moste High School. Initially they played covers of established punk bands including the Sex Pistols, The Clash and New York Dolls. Some of their first songs that became popular were "Za Zelezno Zaveso" (Behind The Iron Curtain), "Anarhist" (Anarchist) and "Lublana Je Bulana" (Ljubljana is Sick). They were included in the Novi Punk Val compilation album. They released their first album Dolgcajt (Boredom) in 1980 and gained the status of a cult band all over former Yugoslavia. - This EP is an awesome four track killer (two slow & two fast numbers) with rough & dirty melodies and is made to play fuckin' loud.....you got me?

THE ADDIX - Too Blind To See 7'' 1979
Originally called the Tooting Fruities the band mutated into the more punky sounding, if not commercially suicidal, the Drug Addix. They released one single before slimming down the name to become the Addix and released one further single before splitting up. Rick Smith (vox) said: "The Too Blind to See 7'' came out to great reviews and a entry into the Time Out top 10, but the week of it’s release ZigZag records promptly went bust!" Described in Zigzag 93 April 1979 as "a four piece raunch & roll band" the band were in essence hi octane rhythm and blues. Also not to be confused with the Suffolk Adicts who had changed their name to avoid confusion. So here we have two awesome rock'n'punk tracks which can be used on every KBD home made sampler. Ronnie Griffin (Drummer) sadly died from an overdose of prescription drugs.
THE STUDS - Warning! High Voltage EP 1981
The Studs were an early 80's punk band from Amsterdam and released their only one on Vögelspin Records. The EP title promises a lot and has certainly accelerated the acquisition, such titles always attract me because I wanna know what's behind it. Here I would say fits the title. Four dirty mid-tempo goodies, one of them, 'Puplic Woman', starts slowly and then pulls on impulsive and is becoming a real hit. Here's a little review: "This sounds like earlier-style British punk and, although Dutch, has English lyrics. It's funny how stuff that sounded so great three years ago now sounds so restrained, but "Electric Chair Execution" is fairly effective." - Tim Yohannon (Maximum Rock'n'Roll #5, March/April 1983) The Studs is also featured on the Killed By Death #24 compilation. So 'High Voltage' is not a heart attack but a nice record.
CHECKMATE - Only Fools Pretend To Be Happy 7'' 1979
Slowly comes movement in this blog, although it's even hard but I wanna feed the blog, I call that self-healing. The only 7inch from Checkmate is a two side pearl, released on Sweet Harmony. The band from Caen/Normandie hew out of here two real earwigs. Side a is melodic brilliant mid-tempo number with nice guitars while the flip goes a bit faster and is a real stomper. I post this record because I like the title and the bandname because it reflects my current situation right again. More info about the band isn't available so you must be satisfied with this little. Anyway, the music is what counts and Checkmate have fabricated with their single a really nice record. On compilations: Back To Front Vol.2, Rare Punque Francais '77-'83 (KBD #200) and Springtime In Belsen. Not only for kbd maniacs a treat.

LEATHERFACE - @ The Queens Hotel, Scunthorpe 2.12.1989
One, Two, Three, Four.... Leatherface. Here I've convinced my beloved girl and we went to a concert in Gießen at the AK44 (very nice location). At this time their new LP Stormy Pretel came out and was followed by a small tour. When I right remember was this in November 2010, it was very coldy and it took a long time until the gig started. To the support band I cannot remember, I think they were shit but when Frankie & Co. enter the stage the small shed was full and it ended in a fantastic evening. I miss those event and all around it. Fuck!!! I'm amputated..... I choose this bootleg because the quality is quite good and I don't know where I got this, thirty-eight minutes pure energy.

WIPERS - München/Theaterfabrik 25.09.1986
The Wipers were a punk rock group formed in Portland/Oregon in 1977 by guitarist Greg Sage, drummer Sam Henry & bassist Dave Koupal. Wipers were one of the earliest American purveyors of the genre, and the group's tight song structure and use of heavy distortion has been hailed as extremely influential by numerous critics and musicians, including Nirvana, who covered several of their songs. This Gig contains 16 songs in an amazing sound quality and is definitely one of the best bootlegs out there from the band. Here i can hear me sick for hours, great song selection, for me, the Wipers are one of the bands that have influenced me greatly and always blasting out my speakers. Get this superb recordings from one of the best bands around this fuckin' planet.

PURRKUR PILLNIKK - No Time To Think EP 1982
Further with more viking stuff here. Yet, the last release by these awesome punks from Iceland with four extremly weird cool songs. Again released via Gramm Records in 1982 and here on it the hymn 'Surprise' which is a short snotty punk track as a punk song should be and 'For Viewing', a rhythmic thunderhall number. And when i listen to the singer, I always think of volcanic eruptions. He's absolut brilliant. The use of a saxophone is also a highlight here. This was posted on WDR on May 2011 an maybe other stuff of Purrkur Pillnikk follows soon. It's sunny weather outside so i leave you with this today.

V/A - ¡Condenados A Luchar! 1986
Released on Discos Suicidas with four different covers this is a pretty Hardcore/Punk/Oi! compilation. Danba opens the music palette with pretty cool Ska/Oi!/Punk rock and the first song they stole the riff from Slime's "Deutschland" but the rest is quite cool, Bap! continues with nice hardcore sound, all four songs going on to fuck your brain out, no time to fill your head with sad memories, troubles or other confused shit. The two Ultimatum songs are the ones that I knew from a tape which recorded a Spanish friend of mine for me back in the 80's. Both cuts simply brilliant and are a must for any mix-tape. M.C.D. kicks with excellent '77 punk and start with a classic, "Steppin' Stone', everyone knows, in Spanish as well and the rest two numbers shine with sing-alongs and with 'No Mas Punkies Mugertos' (the Spanish hymn per se) they make the way clear for Prokeria T, total unkonwn band for me but they smash with two more '77 punk numbers my speakers and finally Zer Bizio? complete with their classic Oi! sound (with sax!) this wonderful album. So use your chance and choose this compilation for your daily fight!

V/A - Killed By Death #77 1996
Up now with another round of some damn cool snotty punk stuff and this bootleg was originally issued in an edition of 300 in wrap around covers, it may be reissued again since it disappeared very quickly. Later pressing (500 copies) came in standard cardboard jacket with an insert. Eight awesome singles from Europe comped in their entirety. Both sides of the covers, the labels and the inserts (if the original records had one) of all the records are reproduced as well. Not really following the KBD concept, but this record includes some great goodies, let's Punk!
