The Rondos would become one of the most influential DIY bands in the Netherlands, sporting a communist imagery perhaps more out of provocation than ideology. Formed 1977 in Rotterdam by John van de Weert (vocals), Allie van Altena & Maarten van Gent (guitar/vocals), Frank (bass), Wim Ter Weele (drums) and were active from 1977 to 1980. Their sound is minimalist, angry, and incredibly biting. The lyrics deal with the bankruptcy of culture and taking to the streets to spray graffiti, the senselessness of wars, and the daily struggle for survival in this worthless, selfish society. They made three 7Inches and one album, all released on their own label King Kong Records, and in 2009 they re-released everything on two records called Destroy The Entertainment: "Repetitive, stripped-down, and furious songs. They forged a new direction in the Dutch music scene: aesthetically far removed from rock, they played by their own rules, wrote their own fanzines, and created DIY platforms intended to be inclusive and inspiring. Rehearsal spaces, gigs, and stencil machines. Power To The People! They significantly inspired a new wave of Dutch bands, particularly in the Wormer and Utreg scenes." The Rondos made a great racket with their songs and I have to admit, listening to them never gets boring. And I've heard minimalist music before where I had to switch off after two or three songs. Loved and therefore featured on several Compilations.

V/A - Kiss This! [Special] 2016
The 930th post belongs again to a superb selfmade compilation which I made in August but there wasn't enough time to post it before because my flight was very early and I was almost too late. Once again my heartfelt thx to all who send me awesome and rare music, particularly Fredrik, Reinhard, François, Nolti and Drago, and without your help this would't possible. Brings me always joy to sit then here and put the nuggets into one BlastKillerLullaby, also with the artwork. I think, this baby is well done and I guess, you like it too. Complaints and claims please to the hands of my neighbors. I wish an entertaining pleasure and comments and recognition are welcome.

V/A - Killed By Epitaph 1998
And we stay geil with this unofficial reissue of the CD that originally appeared on Epitaph Europe in 1996, called "I'm Sure We're Gonna Make It - Dutch Punk Rock '77-'82". This double vinyl is limited to 1000 copies and compiled by Jeroen Vedder and released in Europe only; some wise punk put it out in it's proper form, for kids 'round the world to enjoy. And unike so many comps, this one is again full with rare and dirty heavy KBD stuff. Lotsa good information too. Jeroen, being a native dutchman, did his country a great service with this record. An excellent compilation of the early dutch punk scene, most tracks are really good with very few losers and some of which I've never heard before.

V/A - Killed By Death #007 2000
In principle I like almost every Killed By Death compilation LP but in this I was very excited so far. The track list here reads like a historical event, equipped with tons of rarities nowadays which are only still available at exorbitant prices. You can probably imagine how happy I am when this part of cream fluttered into my house. At this point, again my deep bow to you, Fredrik. I will not use more words about the music, only this: This compilation kicks every lame ass and shoots like a machine gun, volley to volley, in your blood. Whoever here sits still is definitely disturbed. 1000 copies, I think, were made and this is a german release. Generally an awesome LP with no losers and nice to see some good French bands, especially Les Olivensteins, and the Remo Voor song is really cool as well. Pflicht-Download!!!!
