HONKAS - Lied Für Fritz EP 1982

In the city of Wolfsburg at home: Honkas, a four piece named after the German serial killer Fritz Honka from Hamburg, and consisted of Max (vocals), Christian (guitars), Dirk (bass) and André (drums). Their first sign of life was a tape with six songs on the small Silberne Ritter Kassetten label, one year later the only record Lied Für Fritz on Pogar Records with five brilliant lullabies. I own the re-release by Static Age (2019) and give you some product facts by the label plus and a short review: “Reissue of this old German obscurity with great sound and full reproduction of the original fold-out cover. While by 1982 the US had switched over to hardcore, this EP from the Honkas reminds me more of tough, first-generation European punk like the Rude Kids or PF Commando, though fans of better-known bands like the Dead Boys will also see where Honkas is coming from. The mix is odd and uneven (which, for me, adds to the charm of this era and style of punk), giving this the outsider quality I associate with the best KBD punk. They even speed things up for “Kunst,” which has a proto-hardcore sound a la Teen Idles or even Upright Citizens. A deep cut for sure, but if you love ripping, obscure punk this is well worth your time.”

“Honkas are a very raw German punk band and the production on this record only accentuates their primitivity. Some of the songs here almost degenerate into an undefined mass of guitar distortion, but others (like the title track) have more focus and drive. Pretty sharp.” (Jeff Bale (MMRR #5, March/April 1983) - I say: splendid record and five nuggets from the depths of cold wet dirty cellars, pumped with intense passion; represent on various compilations as well. Kauft das Teil solange es verfügbar ist und gebt euch nicht mit billigen mp3's zufrieden.

BIZEX-B - Vi Lever! 1982

Bizex-B is a punk band from Gävle that existed between 1980 and 83 and was recreated in 2005. Bizex-B's first gig was made togehter with PF Commando in March 1980 @ Folkets Hus, Gävle. The band was then composed by Zluggo Pop (Larz Gustafsson) on vocals, Mats "London" Colling (bass), Perra (guitar), Jacob "Kådis" Gordin (drums) and guest singer Pelle Olsson. By the end of 1981 the band entered the studio and recorded their first album "Vi Lever!", which was released early in 1982 in a small edition of 300 copies. One year later the second "En Våldtäkt I Vinyl" on Rebel Records and appeared postum after Bizex-B split in spring 1983. In 2005, the band comeback made two quarters of the original release. Zluggo Pop on mic and Perra (guitar). On drums Fritte Jonasson and bass Urrke T. In September 2006, this "new" Bizex-B recorded its third full-length album "Tillbaka Med En Smäll", released 2007. The first two albums were reissued also in 2007 on remastered CD versions by the Imperial Recordings YKFK label. Zluggo jumped off the band in early 2007 and was replaced by Deep Torkel, known from cult bands like Stoodes and Suzie Beats Them All. The band's last album "Halleluja Jesus Är Din Vän" has been recorded with Deep Torkel in 2009 and 2010 and came out 2012 in a small edition of 100 copies. Present on these compilations.

P.F. COMMANDO - Svenne Pop 1978 + Nu Ska Vi Ha Kul 1980

No big surprise now because Sweden is blessed with brilliant punk bands and P.F. Commando from Gävle prove it now with their two EP's. Excellent catchy music which I can listen to again and again. Everything's just right: sound, tempo, voice! As good as it gets! The band was created by Sonny Jansson and Janne Ricknell and they were one of the first swedish punkbands that recorded an album called Manipulerade Mongon and came out 1979. At the same time they were featured on the compilation "Nä Nu Gävlar". During their existence they release two more albums, Jag Är En Duva (1981) and "In A Pose" (recorded 1979 and released in 1997). Excellent music!

P.F. COMMANDO - Manipulerade Mongon 1979

P.F. Commando was a punk band from Gävle/Sweden and was created by Sonny Jansson and Janne Ricknell. They were one of the first swedish punkbands that recorded an album. First record came in 1978 with the first single Svenne Pop on Comm Records. The group's first gig was at a marathon gala. Manipulerade Mongon is their debut album and came out 1979 and is a fuckin' cool amazing punk record. Their lyrics where snappish gracious and they got massive critic about it and divided the listeners as well, due to the "lack of competence" in that field. They got a contract with Pang Records but the cooperation was a total failure. The label wanted to give them already written lyrics (songs like 'Slavelady In Rubber Clothes' and 'To Come In Eva's Butt') and also a suggestion for an album cover where they wanted the bandmembers to pee on each other and play around with Dog poo. So the band quit quickly. P.F. Commando also inspired swedish artist DiLeva to play music. In 1982 the group split up.

V/A - Break The Rules #8 1997

One more fuckin' awesome punk compilation with old farts now. Splitting from his partnership with Incognito Records, Peter P., who compiled the Back To Front compilations, started his own label, Insekten Records, to put out his new series, Break the Rules. The series picks up where Back To Front left off (with #7). This, like the others, is s greaat mix of early rough-edged punk as well as punk with a poppier edge. And like his other comps here is Volume #9), he's have the permission from the bands to use these songs. Like the KBD or Bloodstains series: this LP is a killer! Get it yet and good Morning!
