V/A - Nobody's Perfect EP 1986

One more rare record from my Wanted-List now. The first issue was released as Lasta-EP II by ST-Records in 1984 with different artwork and this here two years later on Leukemia Records. Musically, we are in Europe (except Bill Of Rights) and approaching a slightly aggressive sound that we all know as punkrock. I think the band names speak for themselves and every song is a typical representative of this genre: loud + rough + snappy! Each band puke in their natural language which I always enjoy, even if I don't understand a word. Four mid-tempo goodies and three short rapid heart attacks, what you want more? Probably appeared in small editions and hard to find... pull now!

1.I Miei Occhi - STIGMATHE
2.The Frontline - ZERO POINT
3.Efialtis - ADIEXODO
4.Paranoja - OPDAKI CIVILIZACIJE
5.Ekki En - PURRKUR PILLNIKK
6.C-9 - THE BILL OF RIGHTS
7.War Is Here - W.D.M.

V/A - YU Punk 1983-1986 Vol.2

So we travel again for a short but worthwhile trip over to ex-Yugoslavia. To the makers of YU Punk #1, which comp although sprayed significant positive response and here in my house already the cries of "Where's Vol.2" accumulated, was the owner of this small but good side yu-punk so nice to upp this awesome gem again for all of us maniacs who love Balkans-Punk-Rock. Two CD's with tons of rare and sometimes demo tracks of bands which earn your kind attention and I'm sure you will not regret it. The sound quality is quite brilliant, a few tracks are known but there is still much to discover and again I must tip my hat when I meet such lovin' self-timbered Compilations, and this piece is amazing! - "Mr. Blue, Hvala Vam Od Srca!" PANKRTI - Dolgcajt 1980

Debut album by this great band from Ljubljana which were formed in 1977. Pankrti (The Bastards) were known for provocative and politically engaged songs and billed themselves "The First Punk Band Behind The Iron Curtain" (Look at it this way) - They are one of the most important former Yugoslav Punk groups and one of the first punk rock bands ever formed in a communist country (really?). After five albums the band ceased to exist at the end of 1987. In 2007 the band get reunited. Get their 7inch Namesto Tebe too. Pankrti rocks modestly. So, its Saturday and its Soccer time.

History of middle Europe punk infont of you! Lepo je... AZRA - Lijepe Žene Prolaze Kroz Grad EP 1980

Azra was a rock band from Zagreb (Croatia) which were popular across Yugoslavia in the 1980s. Azra was formed in 1977 by its frontman Branimir "Johnny" Štulic. The other two members of the original line-up were Mišo Hrnjak (bass) and Boris Leiner (drums). The band is named after a verse from "Der Asra" by Heinrich Heine. They are considered to be one of the most influential bands from the former Yugoslav New Wave rock era and the Yugoslav Rock scene in general. This release (Pretty Women Passing Through The Town) was their second EP on the legendary Jugoton label. 3 pretty songs, one instrumental and so here it is.

V/A - Flops Of The Pops 1991

Ohhh, what a great evening I had, thanks to my friends (which was magic). Well, it's a tradition that a lot of punk record labels (mostly german, for example: AGR, Weird System, Double AA, etc...) use for their first publication a compilation LP. It shows in what direction the label goes & they prefer and what we, the users, can expect. Incognito Records put out their debut LP in 1991 and with bands from all over this planet. The label is known for their awesome '77 punkrock classics and they're always up for a surprise. As far as I know all these songs were not anywhere published and therefore this is plate a rare piece of round black vinyl, containing a 16-page booklet and at lasta pretty D.I.Y. cover. The eyes are satisfied and I promise you the music does too!

1.Hitchhyker - THE RAGS
2.Outside - WOMBELS
3.Aline - DIE SCHWARZEN SCHAFE
4.Rhedeg I Paris - ANHREFN
5.Rollercoaster - GLAMOUR GHOULS
6.Lottery - BROKEN TOYS
7.Mä Lähen Himaan - KLAMYDIA
8.Oy Oy Oy - THE PROLES

11.I Hate Cocks - DIE MÄDELS
12.Nackt Unter Kannibalen - THE LENNONS
13.Keine Zeit 18 Zu Sein - KULTHUREN

MRTVI KANAL - Prošlost I Budućnost 2008

Mrtvi Kanal was punk band from early 80's, from town of Rijeka, Croatia/former Yugoslavia. They never made it to the vinyl which unfortunately was a cause with many former Yugoslavian bands, but this awesome compilation of their early recordings is an absolute classic. They started as a classic punk band but soon they developed to a darker punk/new wave sound, and they had very powerful lyrics as well. They sing in Croatian about socially related stuff with razor sharp punk sarcasm that even had no mercy for punks as well, old punk from around here, a real identity and not just a life style fashion to fit in. Electric harmonica as a constant equal instrument in the band's sound collage in itself gives testimony to their proper tone. Past and future of the Compilation edition that the first seven songs combines footage emerged on the tape that was in 1983, therefore, at the very end of their career, shared with the group Cramp, while the remaining six shots from the very beginning of the bands career in 1979. The older material, unfortunately, is primarily characterized by poor sound quality, which is why some songs irritating to listen more carefully. Great pity, but I guess that's about it made the best deal possible. Feel it, of course, in music, but the most bother the ears of the vast differences in image quality. This release to me is all the more worthwhile & interesting, and definitely recommend to all lovers of punk and ''The Past & Future'' is another excellent album from the musically most significant period of Rijeka and forms a necessary part of the collection of new wave fans. In any case, praise edition.

V/A - There Is No Reason To Be Happy EP 1989

A pretty gem of sophisticated punkrock music from Europe is this little piece of plastic. I purchased this EP at a concert in Hamburg, a local club named 'Marquee' anno 1989 and I think I did it because of the cool cover, the bands at that time told me nothing. And sometimes that's not a bad reason. 4 bands/6 songs and all of them small works of art. Very impressive are the Yugoslavian parts, three short & aggressive firecrackers with a singer who has made the right decision for himself. This is a punkrock voice and I can not imagine him as a seller of shoes, hahaha...but also convince the other bands here with their songs. A small varied piece of 100% punkrock which hits the nail on the head, 500 copies on Artcore Records.

3.Brŝljan - 3.KATEGORIJA

V/A - YU Punk 1978-1982 Vol.1

Another superb re-post from my old Blog and can't say much about this release, because it's a self-made compilation or something like that, but who cares. The fact is many of the songs appeared already on the Bloodstains Across Yugoslavia and the terrific Novi Punk Val compilation album from 1981. The creme de la creme of the yugoslavian punk rock scene is represented here, some songs probably only here but that I don't know exactly. In any case, this is a damn horny compilation and a big fat thanks to the makers who searched for all that stuff and shared with us. Yugoslavian punkrock kicks strong ass.

V/A - Killed By Death #69 1997

Hui, I'm in a small beer inebriation and my body screams for food. OK, here's musical food with another superb bootleg compilation from the Killed By Death series. "Hey you proud punkrock scum, what we offer you is international punkrock cause it's better.", so starts the liner notes on the back cover and Yeah, this writer's not wrong. This record contains both sides of rare original 7inches from the early wild days and kicks your fuckin' brain out, pressed in 500 copies. The makers have once again ensured that the KBD series are one of the best of all time, as well as a football World Cup. No failure, only hits, no complaints. This record is one of the rarest KBD albums and disappeared very quickly, good luck to find a copy.

ELEKTRIČNI ORGAZAM - s/t LP 1981

You can say what you want a lot of good bands came from former Yugoslavia and the following belongs irrevocably to that. Električni Orgazam (Electric Orgasm) is a Serbian punkrock band from Belgrade, formed 1980 by Srđan 'Gile' Gojković (vox + guitars), Ljubomir 'Jovec' Jovanović (guitars), Marina Vulić (bass) and Ljubomir Đukić (keys + organs). Originally starting as a combination of new wave, punk and post-punk, the band later slowly changed their style, becoming a mainstream rock act. They were one of the most notable acts of the former Yugoslav rock scene. This is their debut album, released in 1981 by the renowned Jugoton label, featuring eleven songs of fairly straight-forward punk sound with a small dose of post punk aesthetics. The album had positive reactions by both the audience and the critics, including a review of the album by the NME journalist Kris Bohn, who stated that the band was one of the most exciting non-British acts. Together with Paraf and Pekinška Patka they are among my favorite bands from the Balkans. Catchy songs, great music and properly at all times.

PANKRTI - Namesto Tebe EP 1981

Pankrti (The Bastards in Slovene) were a punk rock band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, active in the late 70's and during the 80's. The band started playing in fall of 1977, practicing in the basement of Kodeljevo's music school, and held the first concert at Moste High School. Initially they played covers of established punk bands including the Sex Pistols, The Clash and New York Dolls. Some of their first songs that became popular were "Za Zelezno Zaveso" (Behind The Iron Curtain), "Anarhist" (Anarchist) and "Lublana Je Bulana" (Ljubljana is Sick). They were included in the Novi Punk Val compilation album. They released their first album Dolgcajt (Boredom) in 1980 and gained the status of a cult band all over former Yugoslavia. - This EP is an awesome four track killer (two slow & two fast numbers) with rough & dirty melodies and is made to play fuckin' loud.....you got me?

V/A - Artistička Radna Akcija 1981

Artistička Radna Akcija (meaning: "Artistic Work Action", also known under the acronym: ARA) is a new wave and punk rock compilation album released in late 1981 by Jugoton Records and presents a snapshot of the early 1980s Belgrade underground music scene. The compilation was recorded in the Druga Maca studio during April and May 1981. A few bands gained after the release quickly mainstream popularity and it's no wonder. Alone the first two tracks are quite brilliant and the rest is also pretty and absolute worth hearin'. The record today is a rarity and a collectors item and has a cult status in the countries that emerged after the breakup of Yugoslavia. The album was never re-released on CD, what a shame.

"Ladies & Gentlemen, This Is PUNKROCK!!!!!" If an record so begins only cool shit can put on there.
