Z-OFF - Første Singel 7'' 1981

Another classic Norwegian punkband is Z-Off which released their one and only Killer 7'' on Hansen Og Kompanjongers Plateforlag in 1981. May you might know them from the awesome Bloodstains Across Norway compilation (coming soon) and these two tracks here speak for themselves. Excellent '77 style punkrock, sung in native norwegian language and the boys shoot their two minutes cracker out and proving once again that it's not difficult to play punkrock with a high level. I love listen to this sound again & again. About the band I have no further infos so you have search by your own. The title 'Hurra For Norge' was used for the awesome sampler series on Svindel RecordsSo relax and start the fuckin' download.

45 GRAVE - Black Cross 7'' 1981

This is the debut 7Inch by 45 Grave, a band from Los Angeles, on Goldar Records. Founded 1979: Dinah (vocals), Rob (bass), Paul (guitar) and Don (drums). The original group broke up in 1985 but vocalist Dinah Cancer subsequently revived the band. 45 Grave are noted as one of the first bands to mix punk rock with horror-themed lyrics, thereby positioning them as progenitors of the horror punk subgenre. Their unique appearance and morbid theatricality also distinguished them as innovators of deathrock, a style of gothic rock. The first songs which I heard were the three from the very good compilation Hell Comes To Your House on Bemisbrain Records. Black Cross is a fuckin' great punk goodie while the flip is a sluggish lethargic stomper with fast breaks. Excellent guitar sound, pretty voice, damn cool stuff!

ELECTRICK GARBAGE - L'Escargot 7'' 1979

One more wild and raw punk record from France, the only one by Electrick Garbage, a four piece combo from Grenoble and both tracks rule, released on FLVM ("Faites Le Vous-Même", which means : "Do It Yourself"). Also here zero info about the band but the flip was taken for a compilation called Hard Punkers, of course unofficial and is certainly worth a listen. Peppy finish for a shitty Monday.

COUCH POTATOES - Brad EP 1992

One post today and this belongs to a 90's melodic pop-punk band from Tunbridge Wells/Kent, U.K. and this is their second EP, released by the german label Born To Booze Records. The Band has a fuckin' fat hard melodic sound with much intense energy which is rather untypical for melodic bands (Snuff, Jawbreaker, Samiam) and after the first tone the immediately, slightly melancholic atmosphere spells me and I can only turn up the volume to eleven. The Couchies made a really fantastic record with Brad and all four songs sound like a beehive in the summer. Harmonic guitar riffs humming all day long. I'm certainly become a big fan of them!

ANATOLE FRANTZ - Scandale 7'' 1978

Last post for today and it's a bomb. Anatole Frantz from Paris shot their only record on Sonopresse in 1978 and leave us a further rare killer 45er. Nothin' about the band in the net so there is not much to say, only both songs kick ass and the production is very well. Somehow I hear a slight echohall in it which makes the sound even stronger and more energetic and the voice comes demanding crazy as well. It really sucks that so many fantastic bands made only one fuckin' piece of vinyl and today each lame pissband has the chance at least record two albums. Well, that makes us special, hahaha... I think this conclusion is worth a gin tonic or two and don't forget: smoke kills! With this in mind

here

LUZIBÄR! - Geistig 7 EP 1982

A rare lost nugget of German punk culture and the only one from Luzibär!, founded in summer 1981 by former members of the Düsseldorf punk band "VD" in Mettmann/Rhineland. After first small gigs they released their record Geistig 7 one year later. The EP was banned because some assholes were disturbed about the lyrics. Luzibär offers in the song "Wixverbot" a Mettmanner city known village idiot, who thought he was a mod. He complained and got right, what a joke, pretty curious and for this reason so it was hard to get a copy. But Luzibär didn't gave up and toured busy. Mid '82 they got from Rough Trade Germany the offer to make an album, called 'Und Der Rest War Schweigen' (famous Hamlet quote). Unfortunately, the album was never recorded. Another four track EP called 'Wachsfiguren' was recorded but also not see the light of the world. Followed by band internal torments, although there were still many appearances, but in the summer of 1983, just two years after the founding Luzibär dissolved. And since then ruled until many years later really silence. Joost Renders and Jasper Michahelles founded with other musicians the band "Chim Chim Cheree", which later renamed in "Panic In Slumberland" but without Jasper Michahelles, he founded meantime the band "Scarlet Masque". Jan Peter Schäfermeyer stop making music and Eric Hackenberg pulled it a few years later to Hamburg, where he is musically very active and later as guitarist of "Jam Today" and "Thee Richmen". In 2002 the Berlin label RottenTotten Records released a 10'' with both 7inches and some live material in an edition of 100 copies, if anyone has this record please send me mp3s. Shortly after the release of this record drummer Jasper Michahelles died in May 2002, who also designed the cover for this compilation, at the age of 39 years on the effects of a stroke. Compilation featuring the band: H'Artcore (1981) and 8–EP Sampler (1982). Good stuff for a coldy Saturday.

VARUKERS - No Hope Of A Future 7'' 1984

Kick off the weekend with a solid 7Inch by the Varukers, a UK hardcore punk band formed in 1979 by Rat (vox), Biff (guitar), Brian (bass) and Stick (drums). They produced their most influential recordings in the early 1980s. This rare record was released via the Berlin label Pogar in several different colour sleeves and contains two superb pogo classics.

THE TYPHOONS - Telstar 7'' 1981

Surprise, Surprise, an unexpected mail came in yesterday and it's a damn rare goodie from the Wanted-List and it's the only record by the Typhoons on Bohemian Records. This is one more side-project by the Ruts from London and we all know Babylon's Burning and the Ruts were formed on 18 August 1977. The band consisted of singer Malcolm Owen, guitarist Paul Fox, bass player John "Segs" Jennings and drummer Dave Ruffy. Here move the gentlemen on Rock'n'Roll paths and recorded two excellent numbers, certainly known among you, at least the a-side. Enjoy!

- Great Thx to trgec -

THE FUCKING WORLD - Gun Policy 1990

Second album by this melodic punk band from Lempäälä/Helsinki on Twin 2 Records with eleven songs. Not the usual ramonesque sound, they have their own style and I remember exactly that this record was a bonus to an order I made and it was not a bad one. I must confess I have not heard anything else but I think one record is enough. The Fucking World exist from 1986-1991, made two records, four 7Inches and a few compilation tracks. A little bit different what I know from Finland but interesting, still in my shelf. 'Sex', 'We All Together Fall', 'Day By Day' and 'Charming Day' are classic goodies - Try it!
