SHITH - Tonight She's By My Side 7'' 1980

Three piece from Spierdijk called Shith and they were formed in the late seventies and consisted of Peter (vocals/guitars), Jos (bass/keyboard), Rob (drums). They did a lot of gigs in youth-centres in the WestFriesland region. This is their first 7Inch on Loof Records with two fantastic and driving tracks which you can grab here. It has catchy pop elements reinforced by the keyboards that the band are great at, especially the title track creating brilliant vibrations. That shouldn't detract the flip, it's okay too. In 1985 the band broke up. There are few compilations with Shith, but these are worthwhile. And there is a new sign of life in 2017, a new EP Permafrost (Loof Records, 200 copies) with five songs came out, which officially released at a concert (Rock De Bok) in Wogmeer on 19. August 2017. And live, Shith aren't finished yet either. Excellent music that stands the test of time.

V/A - Raised On Punk Vol.1 1997

Puhhh, back home and safely arrived I have found decent for me and am satisfied with my booty. The sun still shines and I treat myself to a shower and then to the Berger Straßenfest, there is much to eat, international forage, always traditional much beer and even more fun. And yet another delicious compilation with early rare punk pies from Europe and so you wait for Volume 2 so it's up to you to conjure this by yourself. Quickly a Jever, a cigarette, small drugs and that was it for today. And we stay geil with this unofficial reissue of the CD that originally appeared on Epitaph Europe in 1996, called "I'm Sure We're Gonna Make It - Dutch Punk Rock '77-'82". This double vinyl is limited to 1000 copies and compiled by Jeroen Vedder and released in Europe only; some wise punk put it out in it's proper form, for kids 'round the world to enjoy. And unike so many comps, this one is again full with rare and dirty heavy KBD stuff. Lotsa good information too. Jeroen, being a native dutchman, did his country a great service with this record. An excellent compilation of the early dutch punk scene, most tracks are really good with very few losers and some of which I've never heard before.
